Exchange active sync is not syncing calendar from my job's outlook

I have an iphone 4s and configured exchange active sync to have emails and calendar from my job's outlook.
I am receiving all emails from outlook server but no meetings accepted on outlook calendar are coming to my iphone.
What have i did wrong?
I tried unselect others calendars on iphone and keeping active only calendar from exchange, but it did not synced.
I tried changing from push to manual, but calendar meetings still does not come.
I tried to turn all off and on again, but it did not solved the issue.
What puzzles me is that emails from outlook server are syncing perfectly...
Please does anyone knows what is the problem here?
Thank you.

Assuming it's turned on in the settings for the account, ask your IT department.

    Hi StevenLevy,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
You should be able to connect a BlackBerry 10 Smartphone directly to your mail servers using ActiveSync. This KB article should provide some steps that will also apply for BlackBerry 10 devices. "How to create a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account with a BlackBerry Playbook tablet" http://blackberry.com/btsc/KB31918
This should allow over the air synchronization of contacts and calendar. For more information, please see: "Available contact and calendar synchronization features on a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet or BlackBerry 10 smartphone" http://blackberry.com/btsc/KB30038
Let me know if that helps.

  • Exchange - Active Sync - Calendar - Mobile sync, all information at a specific date and older is deleted.

Hello, I'm a IT Consultant. One of our users has lost their calendar entries from 2013 August and older. We do have a recovery solution to get this data back, but to prevent this from ever happening again. Is there a option to do so?
What we so far figured out is that there might have been an issue with the sync between the device and the server. That in the case the phone found out it didn't have enough space for all calendar entries, it deleted the old ones instead of ignoring it.
    This could be wrong though.
We just found this out so the user does not know what type of phone he used when this occured. But the default mail app was used.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!
    Thanks.

    Hi
There is an option to prevent this happening in future
Ensure the phone is configured in POP profile only which will  delete the emails from phone only and not from server.
Inorder to do that delete the user activesync account and while recreating choose manual setup option and there you can see POP options.
Make sure delete email from server option is unchecked. The setting is under More Settings, then under Incoming Settings. On the bottom it says 'delete email from server' uncheck the option
    Cheers

  • Battery drain after 2.2 update (Exchange Active Sync users or those who use a calendar on the phone)

A lot of folks are having "issues" with battery life after the over the air (OTA) update and there has been much speculation as to the cause.  My frustrattion level increased with each new post I read that did not reveal a resolution.  The back and forth banter about FTC complaints (that was an interesting escape from the battery problem but not very helpful), new apps running from startup (I don't like 'em either), Linux really working better with all these programs running (don't really care as long as the battery level isn't drained after an hour of just sitting on the counter) just made matters worse.
I would like to share with you my experience and hope that it helps some of you who have taken the time to read my post.  First, let me say that the cause is not due the the "bloatware" applications that were installed during the OTA update.
Secondly, the primary purpose of my handheld is for voice calls but running close behind is my need for immediate email, contacts and calendar information (which is configured through Exchange Active Sync).  If you are not using your phone with Active Sync or updating a remote calendar like Google), you can stop reading this post.
I noticed that the yin/yang (sync) icon at the top of my screen kept popping up more than usual after the update.  Looking through the items I have set to sync (Menu -> Settings -> Accounts & Sync), I reviewed all the things I have set and disabled the sync settings for the things I did not want.  After disabling the "Backup Assistant", "Google", "News", "Stocks" and "Weather", I thought for sure the issue would be resolved.  Not yet.  When those adjustments didn't change the frequency of the sync, I decided to look at the Exchange Active Sync and to my surprise, the culprit was revealed - the calendar was stuck in a sync loop (syncing over and over).  I disabled the "Sync Calendar" feature and the phone stopped it's maddening attempt to refresh the calendar.
I let the phone cool off and thought that I could get by with manually toggling the option to sync the calendar but I couldn't accept that was the only way this thing would work.  I removed the Exchange Active Sync account and created a new one.  After the new account was verified, it attempted to sync mail, contacts and calendar but this time, there was a error that occured during the calendar sync.  Instead of repeatedly attempting to re-sync, an error message that stated "Client/Server conversion error".  At this point, the calendar sync loop was no longer a problem (wasnt' draining the battery) but now my calendar wouldn't sync at all.
To fix it, I cleared the data in the Calendar applications (Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> All [tab at the top]). Scroll down the list and open each of the Calendar items and click the "Clear Data" button.
(Credit goes to "Brenny" at AndroidForums.com for the post that explains how to clear the Calendar Data)
It seems that adjustments made to events before the update were kept in the phones local storage.  After the update, the calendar data in the phone's cache was not matching my remote calendar and appears to have been the cause for my battery drain.  After performing these steps, everything is back to normal.  Good luck!

Super frustrating, I know.  Do you use Exchange Active Sync?
If so, you might be having the same issue that I've explained.  Since making the adjustments (clearing the data from the Active Sync components like mail, contacts and calendar), my battery life is back to normal.
Try clearing the data (see first post in this thread) and let me know what happens.

  • Exchange active sync cannot connect to server after migration mailbox user from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 coexistence

Hello, everyone, my name is rafl
I have a problem with exchange 2013 active sync.
I have installed exchange 2013 coexistence with legacy exchange 2007, I have to migrate user mailboxes: [email protected] from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013.
but any problem with active sync connection on the mobile device after moving mailbox user. I reconfigure the exchange ActiveSync external connection domain (latest.domain.com) on mobile device replacing legacy exchange ActiveSync external connection domain
    (legacy.domain.com)
the process of moving mailboxes successfully without error.
Access OWA for exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 is running normally
access mail from Outlook running normally
Certificate request has been installed and has no problem with it
The OWA virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
The autodiscover virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
ActiveSync virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
user mailboxes are still on exchange 2007 is not problematic.
only problem with Exchange Active Sync on mobile devices, where I set up an email with android, iphone, windows phone. the error message: cannot connect to the server.
but, if I create a new user and create user mailboxes directly in exchange server 2013, ActiveSync can run without error on mobile device, access through OWA, MsOutlook, Outlook Anywhere also run normally.
only the results of user migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 which is troubled with exchange ActiveSync connection.
any ideas for this problem, and what should I check on the exchange server ..?

i have run the activesync test connectivity and get some error :

I have allowed access to port 443 (https) and 80 (http) on the firewall and re-run testconnectivity, but still with the same results. if I enable active sync for users who created directly in Exch 2013 there is no problem with the ActiveSync, just a problem
for users who moved from Exch 2007 to Exch 2013. @Android, iPhone, and Blackberry the error message "cannot connect to the server"

  • Exchange active sync not requesting advanced setup details

hi - we have exchange 2010 with active sync 14.1  we have many types mobile devices connected using active sync including iphone and android.  when we previously added any account onto a phone we always had to add the advanced setup manually during
the setup i.e. mail server and domain.  now these details are added automatically after adding email and password.  This seems less secure and i need to find how to stop this.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
This is normal behavior in exchange because of autodiscover feature and it is making up the things easier during new account configuration on mobile devices.
After giving up the user name and password ,autodiscover is the feature which will bring up the remaining settings that you mentioned .
We will discuss in terms of security view .
1.User's password would be confidential .
However in worst cases someone might know about anyone's password and email address then on such case there would be chance to configure that particular account in any of the mobile devices.
We can control the above scenario too.
In exchange Active sync organisation settings we have an option to set the DefaultAccessLevel to quarantine for the devices. So that administrator can decide to allow or block the active sync device which is trying to connect to exchange.

The same password is working well and good in Outlook, Webmail and other android/IOS devices.
    Steps taken as of now:
User formatted the handset, flash the device and Hard/Factory reset,
Disabled the active sync service & enable again for users from exchange server,
    Removed accounts from webmail.
We download some apps from play store and tried but no luck.
While configure exchange active sync in Particular model users are getting error as "User name and password incorrect".
There is no issue from exchange server and user account. as same is working fine in other devices. This issue happening for more that 10 users and receiving more calls day by day.
I request anybody to take it forward and provide the solution/suggestion, if it is a known bug for particular device model. Please confirm back.

  • E-mail and Exchange Active Sync

Planning on configuring E-mail in your Xperia phone? Or do you experiencing problems syncing your E-mails? If yes this might be the topic for you.
Below you’ll find some guides on how to setup E-mail sync and troubleshoot any problems.
    POP3/IMAP
POP4/IMAP E-mail accounts are the most commonly used. This guide will show you the steps of configuring your E-mail manually if your E-mail server doesn’t support auto setup. Please note that the Next button won’t be lit if you have typed an incorrect E-mail address containing characters or symbols that are not supported.
    Configuring POP3 or IMAP E-mail
Go to the E-mail application and enter your E-mail address and password. Now press Manual setup.
Chose the kind of E-mail server your provider is using. If uncertain check this with your E-mail provider.
Under Incoming settings enter your username, password and server details. If you’re uncertain about these details contact your E-mail provider. But in general your username is the same as your E-mail address but some providers may use a specific user name for your account.
Here you can also set if the server should delete the E-mails if you delete them in your phone. This setting is by default always set to Never.
Next step is Outgoing settings. If your E-mail provider also has an SMTP server you can enter the details for sending E-mails here. This normally requires a sign-in on the SMTP server. If yes, check the Require sign-in box and enter your E-mail address and password. As above if you’re uncertain about any of these details contact your E-mail provider.
If your E-mails provider lacks an SMTP server you can check if your network operator provides an SMTP server and use their details. Using your network operators SMTP generally doesn’t require sign-in.
Now it’s time to set how and when to check for new E-mails. Set and check the options you desire.
The last step of the setup is to enter an account name and your name (signature).
    Troubleshooting POP3/IMAP E-mail
First make sure that you have a working Internet connection in the phone.
You can download Internet and MMS settings for your phone by going to Setting > Xperia > Internet settings.
If you have a working Internet connection but still not able to connect to your E-mail server or sync your E-mails check that no Proxy server within your APN settings may be blocking this. You can check this by going to Settings > More (Wireless & networks) > Mobile networks > APN or Access Point Names > Your Internet APN. Check if any details are set for Proxy and Proxy port. If yes you can try to delete them (temporarily) and save the APN. Now check if you’re able to connect or sync with your E-mail server.
You can also verify suspected Internet connection issues by trying via a Wi-Fi network instead.
    E-mail disappearing?
By default our E-mail application is set to only mirror the server. So if an E-mail on the server is deleted it will also be removed from the phone at the next sync.
    Syncing sent E-mail?
This is not possible on POP3 configurations. To be able to sync sent E-mails in the phone you must have configured an IMAP or Exchange Active Sync account.
    Problem sending E-mail?
If you’re not using the same SMTP server as network operator in your phone you might experiencing problems sending E-mail via mobile networks. If this is the case you can connect to a Wi-Fi network to send E-mail or check with your SMTP provider if the outgoing port can be encrypted.
If none of the tips above helps you, you can try to download a third party E-mail application from Google Play store. This can be easy way to rule out where a specific problem may be located.
    Exchange ActiveSync
Our Xperia phones come with the built-in Android native client for synchronizing your corporate E-mails, calendar and contacts. Here are some things worth double checking if you would experience any problems with Exchange sync.
Begin with checking your sync account details and if you haven’t configured the Exchange ActiveSync account yet see the instructions bellow.
    Configuring a Exchange ActiveSync account
Go to the E-mail application and enter your corporate address and password. Then press next.
Don’t worry if the setup might fail at this point because most Exchange servers don’t have auto setup enabled. In this case just press Manual setup. Please note that the Next button won’t be lit if you have typed an incorrect E-mail address containing characters or symbols that are not supported.
Now our E-mail application needs to know what kind of account you want to configure. Press Exchange ActiveSync.
This will bring you to the incoming settings screen. Enter domain\user name, password and server address. If you’re uncertain about your details contact your IT department to check which credentials to use. You will also need to know if you should accept all SSL certificated or use a client certificate.
When all details are correct you will have to setup how and when to sync. So enter and check the options you desire.
When you see this screen the setup is complete.
If your Exchange server requires certain security settings you might see the following pop-up after finishing the setup. If this is the case you must approve the security update in order to sync E-mail, calendar and contacts.
Pressing OK will give you a screen showing you what permissions you need to give the E-mail application. These permissions/ security settings are set from the Exchange server and depend on your corporate IT policy.
    Troubleshooting Exchange Active Sync
    ActiveSync protocol version
You can check which Exchange ActiveSync protocols that are supported by your phone model in its white paper. http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/whitepapers/
Compare this with your server to make sure they’re compatible.
    “SERVER REQUIRES UNSUPPORTED SECURITY FEATURES”
If you get the error message above your Exchange server is using security settings which are not supported by the Android native Exchange ActiveSync application. Which security settings that your phone model supports depend on firmware version and phone model. If your company runs on security settings that the Android native mail application doesn’t support and you don’t plan to alter the security settings, an alternative is to download any of the dedicated Exchange ActiveSync applications from Google Play store.
    New meetings don’t sync?
If you have entered a new meeting in the phone and it doesn’t sync make sure that the meeting has been put into the correct account. When creating a new meeting in the calendar application make sure that you’ve chosen your ActiveSync account as calendar when creating the meeting.
How to use GAL (Global Address List)?
In most of our models you can access the GAL by opening the contacts application and tap the search icon. This will search the Global Address List on your exchange server. Our mail application also searches GAL when typing something in the To: field. Unfortunately we don’t have any default support at the moment for browsing the complete Global Address List.
For more information about what is supported by our Contacts, Calendar and E-mail applications please see this link (Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z). Or this link (Xperia Z1, Xperia Z ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact).

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Are you sure that your account is really configured for the ActiveSync protocol? Because we've seen this occur only when using IMAP with Hotmail/Outlook.com.
I suggest that you make sure that the account is configured as POP3 or EAS. Or use their own dedicated app.

  • Treo 755p - Exchange Active Sync

I have been unable to consistently maintain Exchange Active Sync without a "reload or resetting" of the mail, contacts and calendar on my Treo.  AirSAMStateMachine.c errors are consistent - for example - 3874 4 Synckey invalid, cmd:4, status 4 is the most recent, but I have had 1913 3, etc.
I've cleared my offline folders, removed the duplicates that this creates at least 4 or 5 times.  Reset my devices etc.
Is there any way to fix this?  What is causing this? I've checked our Exchange Server and it appears okay - there isn't any errors.

  • E6 & Exchange Active Sync (Gmail). Emails received...

Hello I have the E6 with Belle Refresh and I am having problems with exchange mailbox (Gmail).
I have configured it properly and all my emails and contacts and calendar items are syncing properly.
Actually it's the second Nokia E6 that I have and I am very familiar with it.
But the new emails are not really arriving in time. It can take up to 15 minutes to arrive althouh it is set to always on in daytime. I am attaching the exchange log so you can figure out

OK, since nobody is actually bothering to help out I will try and clarify more things after extensive testing.
I flashed again the phone with fresh Belle Refresh and tried again. Same problem, for beginning exchange active sync works fine with Gmail but after some time or even after a day it still goes back to receiving mails after fifteen minutes.
I thought it might be some compatibility problems with Gmail so this time I tried native exchange server (office 365 exchange online). Same scenario here, working fine at the beginning but as time goes by I mails received after fifteen minutes.
I noticed also that the internet connection symbol is not active in the screen but it gets active every fifteen minutes and then goes off again by itself.
I studied the admin_log.txt file to see what is going on and I think I have found the problem
    25/09/2012 18:46:11 Mail For Exchange Error -15052
    25/09/2012 18:46:11 Set SimulateAlwaysOn mode : 1
(at this time I was in an office building with poor mobile network coverage)
So for some reason when the phone cannot connect to the server it simulates an always on mode which means it will check the server every 15 minutes.
So when I power on the phone everything works fine, when for some reason there is no connection to the provider (for example I go into an elevator or work in the basement and get into the subway) the mail for exchange client in the E6 thinks there is generally problem with the connection or the server and sets simulation to check every 15 minutes.
Ok with this, but when I come out back to an area with mobile network connection the exchange client on E6 does NOT resume the proper always on connection and just keeps checking for mails every 15 minutes until i reboot the phone.
I hope this can clarify the situation and I trully hope someone can come out and help a bit.
    Thanks

  • Enterprise Data Plan required for Exchange Active Sync?

    From:
    http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/specials/iphone-info.jsp
"What is the Enterprise Data plan?
Customers interested in using iPhone to access corporate email, business applications or corporate intranet will activate with an Enterprise Data Plan for iPhone."
So, if I have a normal $30 data plan will I be able to connect to my companies Exchange server with email/contacts/calendar push? Is there really a way AT&T could prevent me from using the Exchange Active Sync on the iPhone 3G without the Enterprise data plan?
I'm just a regular guy who works at a small company and would like my personal cell phone - used 99% of the time for personal needs - to be able to access my work email/calendar/contacts.
    Message was edited by: engstrom

Ok, so I went by the AT&T store this afternoon to pre-approve my credit in order to save time on the 11th. Well, turns out it won't help, because they told me they are going to have to run a special iPhone credit check the day you buy it anyway, so it is pointless to get pre-approved (great job AT&T).
But, back to the subject at hand, they gave me this piece of paper with all this info on getting ready for the iPhone. Under the iPhone for business heading, it reads:
"It's easy to set up your iPhone for business use on company intranet sites, corporate email or other business applications. SIMPLY SELECT ANY BUSINESS VOICE RATE PLAN and add a $45 Enterprise Data plan for iPhone..."
To me, this would mean that you would have to start with a base business plan, then add the iPhone Enterprise data. Well, if you are an individual opening a personal account, can you even sign up for a business plan? If this is the case, then their own literature prevents you from even getting the Enterprise plan if you wanted to. It seems to me that the would be proof that you don't HAVE to have the Enterprise plan to use ActiveSync, Exchange, etc.

  • Bug in sample code of Exchange Activ Sync cause birthday shift

    Dear Apple Development Team,
Continuing the archived discussion 'Exchange Birthday Shifted by 1 day' I just want to inform you that Microsoft identified the reason for shifted birthdays using Exchange Active Sync. According to Microsoft the mentioned problem is not caused by a server-related problem, but due to an error in a Microsoft sample code which was used in Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Phone 7, Hotmail Outlook Connector and even in iOS. That means that the client side connection was developed incorrectly. Microsoft and Apple copied the incorrect code from time to time using the mentioned Exchange code in their software (iOS, etc).
However, Microsoft already fixed the birthday bug within the latest update of the Outlook Hotmail Connector (please check changelog) as well as in the current update of Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango). For more information please check the following sites:
    German: http://answers.microsoft.com/de-de/winphone/forum/wp7-sync/geburtstags-bug/15075 df5-27f3-4518-8e27-b228d4eaab06?page=1
    English: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp7-sync/birthdays-are-always- set-one-day-earlier-when/b3d16871-ca24-4a26-a0fc-5b0437904a22
Due to the fact, that the mentioned problem isn't fixed in iOS until now, I would be glad if Apple could fix it as soon as possible, too. This bug is really annoying.
    Best regards,
    Hannes

    Hi,
as far as I know the bug is fixed in Hotmail Outlook Connector now. But in the Windows Phone Mango release the bug is still active in "some" cases (for birthdays in the winter time everything is fine and for birthdays in summer time the bug is still there - or vice versa ).
Does Apple plan to fix that bug somehow? As the bug can be fixed with a new release of Outlook connector and partly fixed in the new Windows Phone release it should be a failure in the code of the mobile devices and not with the Hotmail servers - so Apple developers have to work on that.
Does anybody know when this annoying bug will be fixed?
    Cheers,
    Marcel

  • Exchange Active Sync Draining iPhone Battery Quickly.  Help?

Exchange Active Sync seems to drain battery on both Iphone 4 iOS4 and iOS5 software platforms.  I have 3 users that this is happening to.  Users are on both AT&T and Verizon networks. Exchange is 2003 and the version is 6.5.7638.1.  I’ve tried rebooting the phones (soft and hard resets), redoing push (Deleting the account and re-adding it), and restoring as a new iPhone (as a new iPhone not from backup) with no success.  When you are in the mail account you just see the account trying to sync constantly, the battery drops like a rock, and the battery gets hotter than usual.  This only seems to happen to users after they go away for a weekend trip or leave the geographical area where they live.   I’ve even updated roaming capabilities on the phones.  These are not the only users I have.  Myself for example, I have exchange set to push, I’m on the Verizon network, and I have no problems.  Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

I've been looking into this for about a year off and on. More recently it seems to be iPads/iPhones that are the worst. Even the latest iOS 5.x. It does seem to be people who travel a lot and/or jump on/off wireless a lot.
Deleting the device partnership does at least for a short time, resolve it in most cases.
I have a little script I run against the logs to show top user syncs. Basically, they do sync constantly all day and night up to 80,000+ hits per day on the ActiveSync frontend server (Exchange 2003), which is about every second or two. I know of a couple of people who got new phones because there battery was dying like crazy. It was just the sync problem killing them.
Anyone else have any info regarding WHEN this starts happening for a device?
It also happens with Android and Windows phones. It may be worse on iDevices for us because a lot of the people traveling have iPhones and/or iPads.
