Exchange Activesync Setup Trouble

We are attempting to use the iPhone Configuration Utility to setup our new iPads and iPhones. I am running into problems getting Exchang Activesync to configure properly. I can manually setup each iPad to work correctly, but when attempting to use a profile (prompting users to enter their account information when the profile installs) the profile adds their email address incorrectly.
After entering all of the Exchange information and installing the profile on an iPad, the Exchange account incorrectly adds a "mail." to the server address. So for instance if our Exchange server is "mail.servername.xx" and email should be "[email protected]"  the profile is being installed with their email address as:
"[email protected]"  As a result the configuration of their account fails. I should add that our user names are not the same as our email account; is this confusing the utility/
How do I get the configuration profile to stop adding the "mail." to the email address?

For anyone having trouble setting up exchange email on your HTC Droid DNA i think my own started working now with this simple steps:
Email address: Your email
Server Address: mail.com
Domain: Blank
Username: Your complete email address
Password: Your password
Try it.

  • Exchange ActiveSync Problem

    Hi,
since yesterday I have a problem with Exchange Ative Sync account on my Z30 / OS Version 10.2.1.2141.
Out of nowere noticed lost connection.
I have deleted and tried to setup again.
After I put all informations (user/pass/domain/server etc...as I did many times before), I have a small window with "Accounts / Checking for supported services and policy information" but in the end I get " Accounts / The Settings for your account are incorrect. Change your settings and try again".
It's my personal phone, used for work e-mail.
My organisation uses Ipones and also Android with Touchdown as e-mail client.
I put also Touchdown on my Blackberry and is working !!
I am not doing any additional setting than I am doing for Blackberry Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync setup (setup is almost similar : user, pass, domain, server etc...).
Any advice about where could be the problem with standard ActiveSync setup ?

That's the catch. Your IT department controls the server you're trying to connect to. You have to check with them to troubleshoot this issue. I have a personal q10 using activesync for work email. At one time it wasn't supported. They enabled something and it worked.

  • Can Exchange activesync be used for calendar and contacts without BES?

I thought it could- just got a Z10 and am having trouble syncing with a cloud service that uses EAS Tech support just told me that I have to be on BES for that? Wasn't what I thought. Knowledge base article KB34208 "Sync time frame for calendar events when using a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync connection " Says nothing about BES in the Environment section? http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?externalId=KB34208&sliceId=2&cmd=displayKC&d... Hoping guy was wrong- I really need to be able to get my desktop info onto phone and this is convoluted enough- syncing to cloud and then to phone but want to keep the phone (4th BB and a PB). Help please.

you dont need BES10. you can do EAS directly from the device to the Exchange Server.

  • Certificate based authentication for Exchange ActiveSync in Windows 8.* Mail app

I have a Surface Pro and want to setup access to my company's Exchange server that accepts only Exchange ActiveSync certificate-based authentication.
I've installed server certificates to trusted pool and my certificate as personal.
Then I can connect thru Internet Explorer, but this is not comfortable to use.
I don't have a password because of security politics of our company. When I'm setting up this account on my Android phone I'm using any digit for password and it works perfectly.
Can someone help to setup Windows 8 metro-style Mail application? Does it supports this type of auth? When I'm trying to add account with type Outlook, entering server name, domain name, username, 1 as a password then I've got a message like "Can't
    connect. Check your settings."
Is there any plans to implement this feature?

For what it's worth we have CBA working with Windows 8.1 Pro.  In our case we have a MobileIron Sentry server acting as an ActiveSync reverse-proxy, so it verifies the client cert then uses Kerberos Constrained Delegation back to the Exchange CAS, however
it should work exactly the same to the Exchange server directly.  I just used the CA to issue a User Certificate, exported the cert, private key and root CA cert, copied to the WinPro8.1 device and into the Personal Store.  Configured the Mail app
to point at the ActiveSync gateway, Mail asked if I would like to allow it access the certificate (it chose it automatically) and mail synced down immediately...
So it definitely works with Windows Pro 8.1.

  • Exchange 2007 account - trouble connecting at times and a question

Hi all, so, I have my Ex change 2007 account setup on my MacBook Pro but I seem to keep having an issue. WHen the account was initially setup, I was connected to my company via the Cisco VPNClient and the connection worked great - mail, iCal & AddressBook all connected and accessed data fine.
Now, I find that if I drop my VPN and then reconnect, Mail will not connect to the server and I get the Yield or tilde icon next to the account. In console, I'm getting these messages:
9/1/09 9:21:49 AM Mail[1349] -[SOAPParser:0x1163a34e0 parser:didStartElement:namespaceURI:qualifiedName:attributes:] Type not found in SOAPDocument for HTML (HTML)
Now, it seems that if I disconnect the VPN, quit Mail and leave it for a while (sorry, nothing scientific here yet) it will reconnect to the server after I have the VPN back up.
One point to make, I can't seem to get the Apple IPSec support to connect to my company's Cisco concentrator, hence the reason I keep using the Cisco sw.
So, that's my one problem - now for the additional questions: Is the Exchange support in SL Exchange Activesync or a different implementation? The reason I ask is that if it's exchange Activesync, there should be no reason I cannot connect to my Exchange front-end server without a vpn connection and sync mail, calendar & addressbook - right?
That doesn't seem to work, however which leads me to think it's not EAS.
Another question - is there any documentation on how to configure the advanced mail account options - External Server Path, for instance?
    Thanks in advance...
    Dave

I had the exact same issue. Found nothing in the console logs other than "can't refresh account". Turns out my problem was wrong e-mail address with the exchange server. I used the exact e-mail address that this particular exchange expected and it added it to the panel on the left.
Our setup is a bit weird cause we have 2 exchange servers, but I let iCal figure out everything itself using the "old" exchange server and then afterwards went and edited the server settings to use the "new" server, and it kept working with these settings.
Just a bit annoying that iCal was so vague about what the problem was... Also didn't help that I upgraded and moved to the "new" server and changed my password all at once, so don't know what cause the problem in the first place.

  • Gmail Exchange Activesync Now Works??

So I had exchange activesync set up through gmail for my calendar and I had the mail turned on and it always gave an error because it didnt work with gmail. Well today all of a sudden it has started bringing the mail through. Anyone know if it official works now then?

Well I have been using it for Calendars and Contacts for quite some time now (with option for Mail turned off) and use IMAP for gMail (as I find this is just fine for me).
But pulling up their page about how to setup (same page I used before) after reading your post, I see them listing email push now.

Both emails were working in my previous Blackberry hand set Bold 9900. But with this New Z10 this become a problem
What could a the problem and I need help please

The URL you provided https://... does require SSL as it has a "s".
Have you tested the server OMA setup with a notebook or desktop (https://webmail.domain.com/OMA)?
You should receive a login prompt for username & password following by an Inbox listing of messages.
We used this step to verify server setup before configuring an iPhone. Lastly, we made certain that connectivity would work from outside or within our company by doing the following:
    1) created A record for webmail.domain.com to a public IP that route through the firewall on 443 to the Exchange server's private IP - this handles external traffice
    2) added an internal DNS record for webmail.domain.com to the private IP of the Exchange server.
This ensures that webmail.domain.com sync's to exchange from outside or from within the Enterprise.

  • Exchange ActiveSync - Exchange server down

We had a situation this weekend where the Exchange store didn't come up properly after a restart. Apparently, there was a sync pending for one of the iPhones when this happened, as the Application log was quickly flooded with error messages:
Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [sbs2.xxxxxx.com] User: [[email protected]] HTTP status code: [503]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly.
This error was being posted about twice per second. While the error log getting hammered isn't ideal, the bigger issue was that the user's phone was rapidly draining the battery from all of the activity.
Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent this in the future?

Hi..  Welcome to the Palm forums.  Well I will answer your questions as best I can.  First here is a link for the Administrators Guide for MicroSoft Exchange Activesync  http://www.palm.com/us/support/handbooks/treo/Treo650_ExchangeActiveSyncAdminGuide.pdf.  As you look thru it you will see that when it is talking about your data it states that it syncronizes which means the device updates the server and visa versa when you sync. So in answer to your question, if you setup a 680 to sync to an exchange server does it sync or simply update the server?  The exchange server has the ability for it to syncronize, both update each other.  Now I am not a system administrator but I would strongly believe that feature can be modified on the server end and that may be the case with a free exchange server account.  So what they are telling you is either they have their server set only to update the mobile device or they dont know how to set it up any other way.  As expensive as the MicroSoft Exchange Activesync software is I would assume that full service would be for a fee.  So in answer to question 1, yes an Exchange Server will syncronize (providing it is setup to do so).  Now for question 2.  In regards to the Pre, There's no special client application that we know of.  You can connect the Pre as a mass-storage device via mini usb and drag-and-drop into preexisting folders made for those files.  As for other types of syncing, such as Outlook, we have no information as to how that will work yet.  The best information available (about the only information) is at www.palm.com/pre.

  • Nokia E6 Exchange ActiveSync Problem: Unable to Sy...

    Hi,
I am having problem with my Nokia e6 Exchange ActiveSync. I want to view/access my Google Calendar events in Nokia e6 calendar and Google Accounts in my phone's phonebook.
For this I went to Exchange ActiveSync and  entered my gmail address in Mail address and then entered my gmail again for Username and then entered the password as well. After the setup was complete, it started loading all the inbox messages. However, when I went to Calendar on my Nokia e6, nothing could be seen from my Google Calendar and same happened with the contacts as well.
Guys, would you please me solve this problem.
    Thanks,
    Anvin

    Hi Anvin,
    Thanks for the feedback.
During the Exchange Active Sync setup you are reminded to not use any other sync method to sync contacts once the service is et up. Also after selecting contacts you are asked what to do with synced contacts, either keep or delete. You should choose keep.
During the first sync after setup the 'normal' contacts will get synchronized to your Google account. You will see them if you log in to http://contacts.google.com and as these are now part of your Google account they will be removed when you delete the Exchange Active Sync mailbox. You can sync you old contacts back after you removed the mailbox, but will loose any new additions as they are synced and kept in your Google account which in fact makes sense.
    Hope this helps,
    Kosh

  • Exchange Activesync and multiple smtp addresses in same domain

    Hi,
Could anyone help with this if it is possible via Exchange Activesync or a third party software?:
I have a domain user called UserA with three smtp addresses in exchange server 2007SP3 (1 primary -
    [email protected] ) and 2-secondary -
    [email protected] and
    [email protected] ).
The user has been  successfullly setup on an iphone with Exchange Activesync using the primary address. Now, the management wants UserA to be setup to receive mails for the other two secondary addresses using the Domain username
    UserA on the same iphone.
Our Exchange team have tested the practicality of this on the iphone and doesn't seems possible; the error was ''Can't create account- An identical Exchange account already exists''
when this was attempted on iphone. Is this error IOS related or EAS.
I have searched everywhere for any documentations from microsoft  or any of the smart phone vendors (please point to any link that may exist) to confirm this as a proof to the management.
    Thanks.
    Ajagbe T.I.

I'm seeing this same limitation and I'm needing to determine if it is an ActiveSync limitation from Exchange or if it maybe is a limitation of the mobile device.
I have customers who are delegates for multiple exchange mailboxes.  For the sake of example I'll use the following:
John Smith ([email protected]) is a delegate on a shared mailbox ([email protected]) and a delegate for his boss, Cheryl Thompson ([email protected]).
John has an Iphone 4S running IOS7.  He adds his exchange account ([email protected]) and accesses email/contacts/calendars on that account with no issues.
Next he adds the shared mailbox by putting [email protected] in as the email address of the account, but he uses jsmith with his password as his user credentials.  The account is added and John is able to access the shared mailbox and calendars for
    this account.
When he trys to add the 3rd account for his boss, he uses his boss' email address ([email protected]) with his jsmith credentials and he gets the following error:  "Cannot Create Account:  An identical Exchange account already exists."
Any idea of whether this is an Exchange 2010 limitation or an IOS limitation?  The infrastructure we are using is Exchange 2010.

  • Exchange ActiveSync on Internal Network

    Hi Geniuses,
I've got a current issue with iOS5 Devices were deploying Campus-wide (iPhone and iPad). Being a Government Entity we run a Split DNS
setup which works well for most things.
    However here's the issue.
Exchange 2010 is setup with ActiveSync, If we set iOS devices to Sync we use the external facing DNS entry of mail.myschool.wa.edu.au
Requests to this address run back through an offsite DNS, through a TMG Gateway and then back to our Exchange Server via NAT. The external
    sync works flawlessly.
The problem is INTERNAL sync. It will not connect to Exchange Activesync on our Internal VLAN's. If we connect iOS5 devices to the local WiFi, it connects fine to the WiFi, DHCP Allocates addresses fine.. just not EAS.
I can ping mail.myschool.wa.edu.au fine so the split DNS resolve is working fine. If i create a new IMAP mailbox to the Exchange Server whilst connected to the local WiFi it sync's fine with no problems.. So its seeing Exchange no problems..
But.. It just will not connect on 443 (https).
Ideas? Could it be a self-signed Certificate issue internally?
    Chris

Have worked out the Solution now.
Problem is the DNS order priority was all skewed. The offsite DNS was given preferential selection in resolving mail.myschool.wa.edu.au as opposed to the Internal. The Offsite only redirected the page back to the TMG Gateway, not the Internal NAT Mapped Exchange Server.. Once we changed the DNS Order Priority, the Internal DNS kicked in first and auto-resolved the Exchange Server locally instead.

  • Question regarding Exchange ActiveSync migration from Exchange 2003

    Hello,
I am a bit confused about info about requirements when migrating Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) from 2003 to 2010. Now this question is related to EAS only, forget about other services, such as OWA or Outlook Anywhere, for a while.
Basically, all migration guides state that you have to configure and setup a legacy url for legacy services for co-existence. Based on that, I have had an understanding that Exchange 2010 CAS cannot proxy EAS users that are still on Exchange 2003, but issues
a redirect command to EAS client.
However, this article shows information that, based on my understanding, states that Exchange 2010 CAS DOES proxy EAS clients that are still on 2003: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/12/08/3408985.aspx
For migration from 2007 EAS to 2010 EAS the article shows redirecting, but not with 2003.
So my question is: While talking about only EAS, do I need to configure legacy external url/namespace/name resolution or not?
    Thanks for answering!

    Hello,
    I agree with Rajith's suggestion.

  • Exchange Activesync through Relay? ASAP please

    Hi guys,
I am having a requirement to configure Afaria in a network with DMZ. Everything is working fine, only port 443 opened into DMZ and 443 opened to DMZ from internal LAN. No ports opened inside internal LAN.
I have to configure Exchange, where Exchange activesync server is not published to the outside...It is not specified in A record, and cannot be accessed from internet, only intranet.
Is it possible to setup the Access control for email in a way that everything would go through Relay Server? I have a relay server in DMZ and would specifiy it as the Exchange server in a Nitrodesk configuration. I would also enable RS outbound enabler on Exchange server in the internal LAN. I would setup it like this on the picture, but use Relay server instead of the ISA.
    Can this be achieved?
I would need the info FAST. I hope someone has some tips about this.
    Thanks,
    R
