Exchange allowing conflicting meetings when it shouldn't

I have a client that recently migrated to Exchange 2013 from Exchange 2007.  Shortly before the migration, I converted all their resource calendars to the Resource Booking Attendant booking method (AutomateProcessing setting is set to AutoAccept).  They
do not want any conflicts to be allowed, so I set the following settings on all the resource mailboxes:
AllowConflicts - False
ConflictPercentageAllowed - 0
MaximumConflictInstances - 0
I have tested and determined that these settings seem to work properly, at least for new meeting requests.  However, there seem to be some scenarios in which recurring meeting requests are approved even when there are several conflicts.
After some investigation, my suspicion is that existing recurring meetings that originally had no conflicts when accepted (and likely were accepted prior to enabling the Resource Booking Attendant) are automatically accepted when the original series is modified
to extend the number of recurring instances, even if the new instances are in conflict with other meetings on the calendar.
Can anyone tell me why Exchange may be allowing updates to existing recurring meetings that cause conflicts?  Based on everything I've read online, the current calendar property settings noted above should be preventing this.  I need to find a
way to prevent this, or at least be able to explain to the client why this is happening.

Yes, I've found that article linked to many times, but this seems to be beyond what's covered in that article.  Here are my responses to each of those methods:
1) Send Follow-Up Nonrecurring Meeting Requests to Double Book
The meetings in question that are being allowed to double-book are recurring meetings, so this does not apply.
2) Allow a Delegate to Double Book Resources
There are no delegates listed on any of these calendars, which is intentional, as the client wants management to be automated.  Instead of delegates, a select few users have been granted Editor rights directly on the Calendar folder via an AD security
group in order to make manual changes.  And just to note, the users whose updated meetings are being allowed despite conflicts are NOT in the security group, and do not have Editor rights to the calendar.
3) Send a Series Update Without Changing Details
This actually sounds exactly like what's happening, except for one detail, namely that it states that in order for this method to work, conflicts for non-recurring meetings must be allowed by setting the AllowConflicts property to true.  In my case,
the mailboxes in question all have that property set to False, yet the conflicts are still allowed for some reason.
Any other thoughts?  If this is by design, then if nothing else, I'd at least like to be pointed to documentation that states that it's by design, so I can convey that limitation to my client.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 goes to sleep, but often wakes up when it shouldn't.  This happens over and over.  It used to sleep until I sent something to be printed. I now shut the printer down, but that takes a long time to start it up.

When you finally get around to looking at my post, never mind.
I reset the factory defaults on the printer and reauthorized my WiFi network.
    Now it is working.

  • Podcasts are syncing when they shouldn't be

My iPod finally ran out of space so I wanted to remove some of the video podcasts from it. I have my podcast syncing set to sync the selected podcasts so I thought I could just uncheck the ones I didn't want to keep on my iPod and sync to remove them. That didn't work so I put my iPod in manual sync mode and removed them. I turned off the manual sync option and told it to sync again and it's copying all my podcasts (even the ones that aren't checked on the podcast tab). How do I make it stop so I can free up some space?

Ok, I can confirm that the problem doesn't affect music playlists.
I've also noticed that the files that get copied when they shouldn't take up more space than the ones that are supposed to be there. I noticed this by syncing, checking a podcast that was previously unchecked, then resyncing. It wasn't a lot of space, only around 10-25 mb.
I've also found a workaround to get the files off my iPod. I have the "Sync only checked songs and videos" option checked on the summary tab for my iPod in iTunes. I can uncheck each individual podcast that I don't want to be on my iPod, then resync and they are removed. So I guess the problem is only present on the Podcasts (possibly movies and tv shows too) tab of the iPod screen in iTunes.
Is there somewhere else I should go to submit a bug report?

  • Allow other users when upgrading from version 8 to 9

When I originally installed Parallels 8 I did not allow access to Windows to other users on my iMac.  I am now upgrading to Parallels 9 and want to enable another user on my computer to access my Windows programs.  Will I be prompted to allow other users when I install the Parallels 9 upgrade or will I have to go into Parallels 9 later to allow this.  If I have to go in later, how do i do it.

You might want to ask in the Parallels forum as to how Parallels 9 works. http://forum.parallels.com/forum.php

  • Where do I set up rules for conflict resolution when syncing iTunes with Outlook?

I just got an iPhone 5 and I'm coming from a Blackberry.  I've been syncing Outlook Calendar and Contacts to a portable device for over 10 years, even back in the day of the pocket pc and more recently the Blackberry.  My iPhone 5 syncs great and seemlessly with Outlook using iTunes.  I've had no issues as of yet.  The problem for me is, it just seems "too" easy.  I didn't see anywhere where I could set rules for conflict resolutions.  For example, if your pc says one thing but your iPhone says another, who wins and supercedes the other?  What if by accident your iPhone loses all of its data, then iTunes syncs with your pc - will it delete all the Outlook data on your pc because it thinks it's syncing with updated data from your iPhone?  (in my case data I've had for over 10 years)
With the Blackberry software it asked you to set up rules for conflict resolution when first connecting the phone (including an option to ask you first).  In my case, I chose to have it ask me whenever it discovered a conflict.  So whenever I synced, it specifically alerted me exactly how many items are being synced, and then if there were any conflicts, it'd stop and then ask me which device I want to supercede the other.  This gave me a lot of piece of mind.  Now after getting my iPhone and using iTunes to sync, it's been great so far but I have to say that I don't have as much piece of mind.  Does anyone have any feedback on how to set up conflict resolution with iTunes and Outlook or does it not exist at all?  Again, what would happen if there was a conflict between the two devices?

Yes! Thankyou for that. I had of course put the context.xml file in the web-inf directory.
I followed your example to the letter and it still wouldn't work. Or rather, I followed to the letter expect for the difference between "WEB" and "META".
Once I worked that out, it started working like a dream.
Note to anyone else who has a similar problem, make sure you REALLY look at the answer given. Make sure you REALLY do have all the files in the suggested places. It will save you time.
    Thanks again.

  • AfterValueChange event trigged when it shouldn'tbe...

    Hi there,
I'm hoping that someone out there has experienced the following (and
knows why it is happening. ) :-)
I have a couple of windows on which the AfterValueChange event is
triggered on a field upon hitting the delete key.
We all know that this should only happen upon leaving the field, ie. the
field loosing focus. The problem is that I'm trying to recreate this in
a simple test class, but now it won't happen. I still have the original
windows on which it is happening, but I would like to construct
something small and simple to send to Forte.
Any ideas as to why this could be happening?
    Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies so far, but this is not the problem. I know about
the "Validate on keystroke" option and it is definitely swithed off.
I was rather thinking along the lines of this being be a 'funny' in
Forte. Has anyone seen this before? Here is more information:
    1) The windows that it is happening on all have parent windows.
    2) The fields with this problem are all part of a mapped gridfield, ie.
    it has a type.
However, I have constructed a test class with these characteristics, but
it is no good. There must be something else that could cause this. Any
    ideas?

    Hi Jaco,
Check if the option "Validate on keystroke" is set
to true on the widget that posts the AfterValueChange.
If so, than that's the reason. Turn it off and your
    problem will go away.

  • Behaviour of checking Allow administrator interaction when the private key is accessed by the CA ?

Setting up a new standalone root CA what is impact of selecting 'Allow administrator interaction when the private key is accessed by the CA' ?  not sure yet if we will be using a HSM module (which I know is a valid reason for selecting).  I don't
want to limit our future options by not selecting this.  Is there any impact to selecting this if we end up not using CSP / HSM ?  and can the value be changed easily once the Root CA is installed ?

This checkbox enables private key strong protection. This means that you will have to enter administrator password or confirm action each time private key is used. It will be used each time when new certificate/crl is issued. And when service starts. If
you are using HSM, you should consult with HSM documentation to determine whether your HSM requires this setting. As you don't use HSM by now, then you should not enable this checkbox, because you won't see any prompt dialog on server core.

  • AltKey Uniqueness Rule firing when it shouldn't

    Hello,
    I am using JDev 11.1.1.4.0.
I have a 'Name' field that has Altkey for uniqueness rule. It works fine. In fact, it works too well that the rule fires when it shouldn't.
So I was looking for an example to execute the validation conditionally, for my case only when 'Save'.
    Any suggestion/comment appreciated.
    Thank you

No reason in particular, when I created the class, FlashBuilder put it in there (I'm using Flash Pro CS5 + Flash Builder 4). I read that it calls it by default when the class is constructed, so having it in or out didn't really matter. I did comment it out with no luck, but I ended up shifting around the timeline quite a bit today and the problem has gone away. It seemed to only do it when it was in the first frame.
Thanks for your help, I'm going to investigate it further when I have time just for reference, I'll post anything I find here.

  • How do we find out what the conflicts are when the metadata conflict warning appears?

How do we find out what the conflicts are when the metadata conflict warning appears?

LR doesn't provide any way to do that.  If you are really curious, you could use the free Exiftool to capture the metadata in the file before and after you do Metadata > Save Metadata To File, and then compare the before and after.
Also note that many people have reported spurious notifications that a file's metadata has changed.

  • Mail does not retain correct external server path for Exchange Server '07 even when "automatically detect and maintain account settings" is unchecked. Advice?

Mail keeps resetting the external server path for an Exchange server '07 account when the program is closed and reopened. This happens even though "automatically detect and maintain account settings" is unchecked. To reset to the correct setting I need to disable the account, make the change and save with the account disabled, close Mail, reopen Mail, and enable the account. Then the settings are maintained and Mail works great... until Mail is closed and reopened again. At that point the server path reverts to an incorrect setting. Anyone else experiencing this? Advice? I don't think this is a problem with the Exchange server because this problem did not happen with OS X Mavericks.

This this to fix repeated password requests....
    Open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities
Search for your Dreamhost accounts. There should be two entries (incoming, outgoing) for each account.
It's not uncommon to find old entries. You might want to delete all and start clean. The Keychain isn't smart and will keep all old entries when you add/change a password.
While you are in the Keychain run Keychain First Aid, Under Keychain Access in the Menu bar.
    Open Mail
    Open Connection Doctor.
If you see red for the account, enter the password again.
If you continue to have problems, delete the account then add it back.

Greetings, i apologize beforehand for my spelling, name(takes 6 hours to change) and the headache you migth get, however,
i bring you the following code, and test results:
    ------Procedure wich throws the error-------

    for blah in curnombre loop
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('nombre unidad: '||blah.nombre||' ');
    end loop;

-what i get when executing the procedure-
Error que empieza en la línea 1 del comando:
    exec p_colegas(19)
    Informe de error:

    *Cause:
    *Action:-----------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------the real problem--------------------
if in that procedure i were to write
    (1)
select unidad.tipo into ctipo from unidad where unidad.id_elem=x;(2)
select elemento.ciudad into asd from elemento where elemento.id_elem=x;instead the single query i wrote, we get the following:
    (1) works wonderfull, only gets the error when there are no matches for x.
    (2) throws the error i showed before.
however when i do the following query in the worksheet and execute it:
    (3)
select elemento.ciudad from elemento where elemento.id_elem=x;i get what i expected to get 1 row 1 column.(yes it has data)
note: in (3) the only difference is that i remove the into clause, and x is the same number i used when i execute the procedure.
    --------------------the question------------------------
why in the procedure, the query (2) fail to fetch the data, the same data wich the query(3) does not fail to fetch?
    i'm getting ORA-01403, when i shouldn't?
is there a work around to this problem?
    --------------------what i try------------------------------
nested the query with it's own error handle exception, getting the same results, just catches the error with a different handling.

Oops, I mi9ssed table ELEMENTO has column X. When you use:
where unidad.id_elem=x and elemento.id_elem=x;column names take precedence over PL/SQL variables wnd X is resolved as table ELEMENTO column X. not as PL/SQL procedure parameter X. Change PL/SQL procedure parameter name:

  • Phone rings when it shouldn't

I put my phone on vibrate but it will ring when I get a call. It was not one of my contacts either.

I figured out the HTMLDB problem. The process executes conditionally based on the Value of the submitted buton, NOT the name of the submitted button. So I had a button in another region that had a different name, but had the same Value. (ie. "Go), so the process was executing when it shouldn't have been. This is a bug.

  • How many  Exchanges allowed  with  New Every Two ( NET )- Upgrade Program ? Policy change?

Was I just lucky to get 3 phones before they 'cut me off'?
Read if you're bored (obviously I am):
I was eligible in Oct. '09 for my NET uprade. I got a phone, didn't like it better than what I had so I called Verizon to return it.
They told me the procedure and before I hung up I asked, "How many returns/exchanges are allowed in the NET program?" I SWEAR she said, "As many as you like - Verizon wants you to be happy w/your purchase"....and NO RESTOCKING FEE.
Fast Forward to June '10. My trusty ol' VX8350 finally cracks @ the hinge - still useable, but not long for this world. I check my online account as I'm still eligible for the NET....i order up an LG Acccolade phone (the brand has treated me well), but the phone is too basic (kinda jumped the gun on ordering it). So back it goes..
I check my Verizon online account about 2 weeks later, and see my account has NOT been updated to reflect the Accolade was rec'd and I'm still eligible for the NET. I call Customer Service (CS) and after a few minutes, they let me know the phone is rec'd and they can update my account to make me eligible for the NET....and NO RESTOCKING FEE.
So. after a couple of days, I go back online and order up a CASIO EXILIM - It is the ONLY 'multimedia' phone that doesn't require a 'data plan' for an extra $9.99/month. Verizon changed it back in Jan. '10, IIRC - I was told by a Verizon rep during a 'chat' session(and WTH happened to the online chat??).
After living w/the phone for a couple weeks, I'm not liking it. Back it goes to Verizon. I look online a couple of days ago, and don't see that I'm eligible for the NET so I call Verizon. After spending a few minutes going over my account the rep verifies that the Casio has been rec'd and that he will transfer me to the department that handles updating my NET status.
He also notes that I HAVE BEEN CHARGED a RESTOCKING FEE, which he kindly waives. ( I hope!)
HE VERIFIES THAT I HAVE REC'd and RETURNED 2 PREVIOUS PHONES - and says NOTHING about losing my NET eligibiltity. He even states he's worked w/Verizon 'for quite a while' and defends/explain the reasoning for adding the requirement for a data plan w/most/all the multimedia-type phones, "Due to a bunch of people having huge data bills, we instituted this to make sure the customer doesn't have unintended charges. Verizon had their biggest 'write-off' due to this, as customers had these huge data bills and weren't able to pay them". (OK, riiigghhht) After being on hold for awhile he states their's a Tornado warning @ the office he wanted to tranfer me to, so I just agree to be put in the 'queue' .....after 10 minutes I have to get back to work so I hang up.
Today, I call and talk to a gal (nice enough) who after reviewing my account AND TALKING TO HER SUPERVISOR tells me her supervisor will not authorize me receiving the NET eligiblity as their policy is only 1 Exchange allowed, per their Return Policy. I argue that I was told differently in the past and I'm not happy w/their CS (for which she aplogizes) - being in CS my self, I don't take it out on the rep...they're just the messenger.
Was I just lucky to get 3 phones?

Customers may exchange unwanted devices / accessories only once within 30 days from the date of purchase.
The start of the 30-day period for Activate Later Upgrades is based on the date of purchase.
All device returns (not exchanges) reset the customer's contract, upgrade, and NE2 (New Every Two) dates.
A $35 Device Restocking Fee is applied to account
