  • Mail for Exchange and Google Calendar - some sync ...

    Let's say I do this:
    1. modify an event in Google's calendar
    2. modify an event on my N79's calendar
    3. start the sync on the N79
Only the event I modified on the N79 (2.) will get synced to the Google Calendar. Then, only after I sync AGAIN the event modified on Google calendar (1.) will get reflected on the N79. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
The other issue is that, even tho I have set to sync every 4 hours it doesn't always work. I synced manually at 13:08 and I checked now (18:30) and no new syncs happened, even tho they should (it's all set correctly).

To describe the first problem in simpler terms (after some additional testing):
As long as there's a new event created on the phone, it won't sync anything from the server to the phone, but only from the phone to the server.
It will only sync from the server to the phone in a new session, if there are no new(or modified) events from the phone.

  • Help needed to sync ical and google calendar

Hello, I am hoping someone can help me set up my ical and google calendar so they can sync from one to the other. I originally have ical with everything on it and I need to get it to sync with google. I have no problem exporting from ical and importing in google but I do have a problem setting it up to sync back and forth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

You may want to look at Spanning Sync.

  • How can I sync "On My Mac" iCal calendars on Snow Leopard with iPhone and Google Calendar?

    Hi,
(I've done a lot of searching for a clear answer but without success.)
Can someone please advise how I can get the "On My Mac" calendars on iCal v4.0.4 (running under Snow Leopard 10.6.8) to sync with an iPhone and Google Calendars,  'over the air' (i.e. not via iTunes) and both ways (two-way syncing).
There was a great bit of software called Spanning Sync which did it all but it's now discontinued. I'm running Snow Leopard and do NOT want to upgrade to OS Lion.
I've tried the iCloud route but it just creates an extra set of "@me.com" calendars under the "On My Mac" calendars - it is not syncing the "On My Mac" calendars themselves (and I want to use the "On My MAc" calendars as the master dataset (the 'Truth database' to use an Apple term!).
... And the same happens when I try to sync my Google Calendars: another set of "@google.com" calendars appear.
Now instead of 2 calendars in iCal I have 6: 2 On My Mac calendars, 2 iCloud ones, and 2 Google ones. (This is not progress Apple!)
    Hope someone can advise.
    Many thanks.

Thanks Winston.  I'm aware that the 'on my mac' calendar doesn't get picked up by iCloud.  I'm wondering whether anyone can help with the best alternative solution for synchronisation of phone and Outlook.

  • Is it possible to synch ICal in OS10.8 and Google Calendar so friends can view and change it on a PC?

Is it possible to synch ICal in OS10.8 and Google Calendar so friends can view and change it on a PC?  The friends have no IOS devices, ITunes, or ICloud accounts.  Thanks, if you have performed this miracle!

There's a non Apple supported hack/methode that may let you share iCal calendars: iCloud Mail settings in Snow Leopard

  • Evolution and google calendar [solved]

    hi
i'm not sure, but there has been an option in evolution to add a google calendar. i can still add a calendar, but only "read-only"...
after searching the forum and asking good old google himself, i found some posts from 2008 stating that it was broken but works perfectly now (as in 2008 "now").
is there a plugin or AUR package enabling the google calendar in evolution to work both ways ("read-write")?
a friend of mine, using ubuntu has the option enabled in the default package, so there is a way to use it, but apparently not in arch (at the moment)!
    thanks ...
oh, i'm not bound to evolution and open for suggestions for alternative email-clients with calendar integration and google-calendar support!

    thanks anyway
still open for (lightweight) alternatives ...

  • Trying to successfully sync Outlook and Google calendars

    Hi!
I am trying to sync my Outlook calendar and google calendar.   I have some meetings that are on my Google calendar that do not show in Outlook. I also have some meetings that show in my Outlook taskbar but do not show up in main calendar but do show up in Calendar - Outlook Data File.
    Can anyone help?

Microsoft and Google might be able to but this is nothing to do with Apple products or services.
Try the forums for the 2 companies involved.

  • Tour and Google Calendar

I want to sync my BB calendar with my Google calendar.  I've downloaded the Google Sync app, it shows up in the Options - Advanced Options - Applications list, but no shortcut. Also, it's listed in the application list in BOLD letters- I'm not sure what that means?
I did not download the Google mobile app - my email is getting automatically pushed to the BB, so I didn't think I needed it for the calendar.
    ANY help would be appreciated!

Check your "downloads" folder for the application shortcut.  You can also access the sync functions by going to your calendar and hitting the menu button.  "Google Sync" will now appear at the top.
When an application is highlighted in your list of installed, it means you have granted it non-default permissions.

  • Ipod Touch and Google Calendar

I have a new touch and everything works great except the calendar function. I extensively use Google calendar. Some months ago I synced my google calendar to my ical with no trouble. When I start up ical it automatically grabs the Google calendar entries. The problem is that my touch will only sync the entries that I make myself directly into ical. None of the Google generated entries will appear in the touch calendar even though they are displayed in ical. Any ideas?

    Hey Ken,
Try Resetting the Sync history as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2481
You can also setup the Google account as an Exchange account. This Google help article: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740 provides more information.

  • Razr and Google calendar not 2-way syncing

    The background...
Just bought the Motorola Razr.  Use Outlook 2007 as my primary calendar, gmail as my primary email.  I interfaced my Outlook calendar with Google Calendar using the free Google Calendar Sync download. Verizon set up the phone when I purchased it and I have my suspicions on it being done correctly.  I have the Google Calendar sync set up to do 2-way syncing.  The initial interface between Outlook, Google Calendar and the Razr seemed to go very well.
    The problem:
When I input into Google calendar or into the Outlook Calendar, it puts works perfectly. When I input into the Razr, nothing goes to either Google Calendar or Outlook.
    My settings:
Accounts: Gmail and Google.  The Google account has books, contacts, gmail, and calendar data and sync all checked.
The calendars I have synced and visible are my Google gmail calendar, US Holidays and Weather.  My Phone calendar is NOT synced, visible.  I had it where the Phone was synced, visible with no difference (I changed it based on other forum suggestions).
The question: What do I have to do to get the phone to sync with Google Calendar?  It should do it automatically.

You need to install Google Calendar sync. Set it up for two way and you will be fine.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A and Google Calendar

The Google Calendar application for my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A always prints the calendar offset by one day; i.e. Sunday's events are listed on Monday, Tuesday's events on Wednesday, etc.  All settings are fine, otherwise, prints like a champ on everything and anything.
Any idea on what can be changed to allow this application to work correctly?

    Hey PruttHall,

  • How do I get reminders to work between ical and google calendar

I have searched and searched, read dozens of posts, and still have found nothing that shows how to get reminders to work in ical. One post said to disable all event reminders in the google interface-did not make any difference; setting them up in google-did not work; etc etc
Specifically, I am on a macbook pro, snow leopard, ical 4.0.4; my wife is on the same system, but using an iMac.
since snow leopard does not support the cloud, and mobilme is gone, we were 'forced' to use google calendar to sync events between our two computers; that part seems to work fine; most of the time.
But neither of us can get a reminder to pop up in ical, when the event is one that goes to google; if the event is one that is "on my mac", then those kind of event reminders do work.
this is not about syncing reminders; it is about me tring to make a medical appt event remind me a few hours before, so I don't forget it, like happened last week!!
Mainly I am expecting anyone that responds to this post to say, yes you are right, there is no way to get a 'caldav' event reminder to work anymore.
If anyone says "I found a way..." I will be knocked over :-)  (but overjoyed); I am happy to use terminal, plist editor, or anything else, if someone can fix this.

can anyone help with this, even if just to confirm that there is no fix?

  • KDE 4.9, Akonadi and google calendar/contacts

    Hi,
Searched around, didn't seem to find anything up to date on this. Anyone else having problems getting Akonadi to sync with google stuff? Apparently we don't use AUR packages for this anymore (the akonadi-google-git package doesn't even exist anymore) so I used to the stuff that appears to just be installed by default. They just error out though. They connect and sync up to 100% then throw out an error like, "failed to retrieve contacts". The calendar doesn't seem to give an error but it doesn't seem to actually do anything either. Checking in korganizer, I select the google calendar to be displayed but no entries are actually present.
Anyone have an idea how to fix this?
    Cheers!
    SD

Looking a bit further. This is really quite odd, the calendar shows entries, but only very old ones I made ages ago. Some repeating ones like my birthday or talk like a pirate day (important not to forget that) -- but events made recently don't. Very strange.
    Akonadi makes me sigh.

  • Evolution 2.22 and Google calendar: "Moved Temporarily"

    Hi
I'm trying to get Evolution 2.22 working with my Google Calendar, but I can't see the calendar in Evolution, and if I create new entries in Evolution they do not show up on my Google Calendar (yes I have selected my Google Calendar in the dropdown box)
So I tried to look at the traffic using Wireshark, and here is what I get:

    Anyone got it working?

enrique wrote:Yeah, and in the changelog for Gnome 2.22.1 there is no mention of a fix.
the problem should be in evolution-data-server (in the backend to google calendar) which is in another package, but I couldn't find a changelog for that.

  • ICloud and Google calendars not showing up on my 4s

I have an iCloud calendar that shows up when I am logged in online, but not on my iphone 4s. I have the same problem with a Google Calendar. Both are shared and I am not an admin. How can I get them to show up?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If it isn't showing up at all, it means that Find My Phone hasn't been activated.
If it's just the location that isn't showing up, it may well mean it isn't connected to a network at this time.
