Exchange and mail issue on lion

I use a 27inch iMac with exchange for the company email. If I ever search for an email in mail I can usually find what I am looking for but after that Mail freezes. I then have to force quit to restart mail. It's not an issues on the iPhone. Help?
Any thoughts on what is happening or alternative solutions.
I am running lion.

It's a bit more involved than one would hope.  If you do decide to move it, I'd use Method #1 here.

  • Safari and Mail issues

Since I updated to Lion both my Mail and Safari have not been working well.  The majority of the times Safari will not even open for me.  Mail will open for me but it will not recieve mail and I will not be able to click anything in Mail (I have to work completely with the arrow buttons).
To get them working again I have to re-start my computer.  This shouldn't be an issue with Lion, but I don't know what the fix is.
    Anyone know?

No problem. They will not be deleted. And you can always backup first your Home folder. Your Application folder is always the same. You must re-configure Safari and Mail to create new preference files, and your System Preferences folder too. Let's see if this works. As for Safari, you can also download from Apple website.

  • Exchange and mail.app

Has anyone had this issue with a MS Exchange server? On a Mac I am able to send mail out to any email address using Outlook Web Access but using the same exchange server with a POP account and Mail.app I cannot send mail outside the school district(@af.k12.wi.us). When I try, I get "The message could not be appended to the Outbox".
Is this a problem with the Exchange server setup or Mail.app account? How do I fix it?

We also use Intermedia.net and I've yet to get mail.app and Exchange to work together. The KB and support offer very little more than what you see posted here already. The "Mail for Mac OSX" are not even close to being accurate for our dedicated hosting plan (we don't have mail.domain.com type names).
Mail.app doesn't give you much to go on either... I plug in the information and it just never connects or never goes online. If I open up the Activity window I see it try and connect but then just drops the connection. No failed password or other error message.
Anyone else have any experience with Intermedia or success with Exchange?

  • Exchange and Mail: Password suddenly not recognized by server

    Hello Everyone,
About one month ago my Exchange account stopped working with mail. I checked with my IT department and they told me that everything was normal on their end. Apple came out with a software update appr. 2 weeks ago I believe (10.9.1). After performing the update, my Exchange account worked again.
Fast forward to 3 days ago... again... for no apparent reason, my mail acccount starts asking me for my password again for the Exchange Account. When I enter it however, it doesn't work. I completely deleted the account and tried adding it again and got the following message:
"Internet accounts couldn't log in to the Exchange Server "email.xxx.com". Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then click continue."
I've tried time and time again with no luck. When I contacted my IT guy again this time, he told me that they had never done anything the first time to try to fix this issue!
I have an iPhone and an iPad and have absolutely no issues with Exchange and my portable devices.
    Can anyone help? Thanks!

I still haven't found a solution to this problem. I purchased Office for Mac with Outlook 2011 because my IT guy told me that there were lots of people using Macs and that they used this program. It worked for 3 days and then I encountered the exact same problem. See below.
Mail could not be received at this time
The server for account "xxxxx" returned the error "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?
I've asked my IT department and they have no idea what's going on. Apparently my IP address doesn't even show up on their servers. Can someone please help me?
    Thanks.

  • Exchange Push Mail Issues

For the past couple of weeks I've been having issues with my device and push mail, I'll check the phone in the afternoon and it'll say last updated 10:30 - swipe to update and all my mail comes in. The device is not in Stamina mode and I've even disabled the "queue background data" option but not joy. Removed and re-added my account also, oh and cleared out all of my devices in Exchange web mail. Just downloaded TouchDown to see if its the native email application causing the issue and that works fine. I am wondering if the last software update has caused an issue, been working fine up until a few weeks ago. My father has a Moto G running off the same email service and its fine.

I had this issue and I resolved it with a widget I use (PowerToggle) as I use it for my quick access tools eg Vibrate to Loud, Torch on/off, brightness etc, and I put an auto-sync on there and leave it turned on. Not an exact fix but it works. I found before I did this that apps would turn off their auto-sync, and turning it on manually would work until I reset the phone, then it'd turn off again and would have to turn on again.

  • Exchange e-mail issues and iPhone 4s

When I send or reply to a message from the iPhone it automatically saves the sent message on my exchange server – this is very annoying as I only ever save messages I need responses to – can this be stopped?

I suggest that you also post in the Leopard 10.5 Mail & Address Book Forum.

  • Exchange 2007 Mail issue, server rejecting password

    Hi all.
We have installed Exchange 2007 server today and configured it and all windows clients and iPhones. windows clients on normal RPC settings and laptops on RPC over HTTP.
Webmail has also been configured which works fine with a trusted root certificate. webmail works fine in safari also.
we have a problem configuring Mail on two SL macbooks. when running the setup and entering the password the client app comes back repeatedly and says 'The Exchange 2007 server “exchange.domain.co.uk” rejected the password for user “username” '
i have tried this on both machines and im kind of stuck since the exchange server is fully function for all other devices.
For info, the exchange server is on SP1 rollup 9. running on windows server 2008 R2 x64
i changed the outgoing server field to be the internal IP just to check and i get the prompt for the SSL (obviously since the SSL does not include the IP. i click to import and accept which it does but i still get my password rejected.
    Any ideas?

Seems like an issue with a December update. I found the following info that basically tells you to go to IIS SSL settings for the OWA (and related sites) and change the client to "accept certificate". It worked for me so hopefully this will help someone else.
The following text was found on:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/383d130e -869f-4fce-9502-8b340904b0ba
    EDIT: Found a fix for me potentially via - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/thread/c1e72d 2a-d360-4ff0-b2f5-1a9ae149df18 and http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=micro soft.public.exchange.admin&mid=00d4a681-f588-4eed-b4f8-5c3645e7376c&sloc=en-us
I had an issue similar to this. Win2k3 Ex07. All of my Outlook 2007
users were getting prompted over and over for the username and
password. It wasn't checking the certificate that they had installed
via internet explorer. To fix the problem, I opened IIS on the
Exchange server and checked the following directories under the
default website (the root site(default web site), oab, autodiscover).
Under the directory security tab, click Edit in the Secure
Communications section. I had the require SSL checked and the 128bit
encryption, but under Client Certificates, it was set to ignore. Once
I changed that to Accept for each of the folders, stopped and started
IIS, I stopped being prompted all the time for credentials. Hopefully
this will help someone in the future.
    Just confirmed fixed for client!!!

  • Exchange and Mail app - not synchronized

I have noticed that when I read mail in my Exchange mailbox via Outlook or other mail client, the messages are not necessarily showing as read in the Mail app in Mountain Lion.  This was not the case in Lion or any previous version.  The only thing that will absolutely remedy is to rebuild the mailbox, which I do not enjoy doing on a daily basis with a resonably large mailbox.  Is there a solution?  Is this a defect that might be fixed?  I have found Exchange integration with Mountain Lion Mail and Calendars to be rather buggy and far less reliable than in previous Mac OS X versions.

I have the same problem except it's only with Mail.  Calendar is solid.  On Lion, I had intermittent problems with both and had to periodically clear the Calendar cache to get calendar working again.
iOS exchange has been flawless for years, so I'm not sure why all the hassle on OS X.

  • Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange and CorruptedCompressedFile issue

    Hi
I have an issue where a third-party vendor is using Cisco Prime management software to email zipped reports to various recipients on our system. However, when it hits our system, Forefront is tagging this as a "CorruptedCompressedFile"
and stripping it from the emails.
I've had the email sent to a personal email account and the attachment looks ok - it opens normally and there is no password. If I use Windows 7 to extract the single file and then create a new zip file, this new zip file is delivered fine to users in our
    system.
We are running Exchange 2010 (14.03.0174.001) and Forefront Protection for Exchange (11.0.727.0).
The file is a csv, and one example is only 2.5MB compressed, and 15MB uncompressed.
Does anyone know what could be causing the issue here?
    Thanks
    Paul

    HI,
In general, the files that FPE is unable to parse will be scanned as a corrupted compressed file and it can be due to multiple reasons.
Please check the FSEAgentLog under %Program Files (x86)%\Microsoft Forefront Protection for Exchange Server\Data
to see if any detailed information exists.
Firstly, I recommend you to check the maximum compressed file size to make sure that it is larger than that file. You can clickPolicy
Management in the FPE Administrator Console, and under
Global Settings, click Advanced Options, then in the
Global Settings - Advanced Options pane, under the Threshold Levels section.
    In addition,
files identified as corrupted are quarantined by default. You can override quarantining for these file types by clearing the
    Quarantine corrupted compressed files
    check box under the
    Deletion Criteria
section in the Global Settings - Advanced Options pane,,
    and then clicking
Save. However, it is not recommended to do this as it may cause all the files identified as corrupted are not quarantined.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • Connection Problems with iMAP and Mail in Mountain Lion

    Hi everybody,
since the Update on Mountain Lion I am having the following problem:
When my iMac wakes up after some time, Mail isn't working anymore by showing the triangle with the exclamation mark. By clicking on it it shows the following picture (sorry for being in german). What you see is, that the internet connection works fine but Mail says it cannot connect to the iCloud iMAP Server. I should check if iCloud supports SSL and if it does not, deactivate it...
After closing Mail an reopening it again, everything works fine until the next episode of waking up...
    Any hints??
    Thanks!!
    Stefan

If you do, I highly recommend wiping the harddrive and doing a clean
install. An upgrade install, especially from two versions back is going
to be nothing short of a crapshoot.
Deactivate any software before doing so.

  • IPCU, Exchange and mailing photos

When I setup and install an IPCU profile including an Exchange email account, I can't sent photos with that account from de default photo app. The photo app asks to setup a new email account and ignores the already setup account. Can I change this behaviour?

After some search I found out the checkbox in IPCU was actually called:
    Use Only in Mail
Send outgoing mail from this account only from Mail app
    Thanks for your answer.

  • Exchange and Mail.app 3.1 Can this work?

I am desperately trying to not have to run a VM Windows machine and am trying to get my email from my exchange server. Is there a tutorial on how to do this somewhere?
I see the Exchange option when setting up the account but that is where I seem to have problems.
I get these instruction for Entourage from Intermedia
When I look at the Mail setup I see OWA settings? What is that? (Outlook Web Access?)

  • Yahoo mail issues on Lion OS 13" MBP 2011

Hello Apple Community. I have a problem on setting my yahoo mail on mail features on my MBP 2011. The first time I lunch it and setup it to hotmail it work. However when I add another account for yahoo mail it didn't work. I search everywhere and entered correctly the incoming and outgoing server and the port and tried other alternatives like plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com and plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com or wthout plus and trying ports 993 or 995 and also for the other port. It didn't work. I have an iphone classic already set-up for hotmail and yahoo and been using already. I tried delete those accounts on my iphone and try to set-up again on my MBP but still didn't work and prompts me that my password is been rejected by pop server. I also changing my username with or without @yahoo.com. But still it doesn't work. I already search here in apple community and followed carefully every step but i still fail on setting it up on my yahoo mail. I changed my yahoo mail account to visible which is before not visible to public but I failed so many times. Any help here who encounters same problem on Lion OS? Thanks!

If this is a stock MBP then it really is shipped with just enough RAM, 4GBs. If you have many Apps open and then try to use LaunchPad the whole computer may freeze for a moment while swaping out info from physical memory to the hard drive (also the hard drives that come in the MBP are of the SLOW type, 5400RPMs as apposed to faster 7200RPM models).
Not sure how long you have been a Mac user but if you are fairly new there is one thing you need to know.
In Windows when you click the X in the upper right hand side of an application that App closes and frees up the memory it was using.
With a Mac when you click the X in the upper left hand corner all that does is close the windows that was open. It does not exit the program. The program is still running and loaded into memory. You have to either go tomthe menu bar and select Quit "Program name". If that last program name is not on the menu bar then you have to do a Command+Tab until it is then Quit Program. You can also use Command+Q to quit the active program.
So if you are moving from Windows to Mac you probably end up with quite few programs open thinking you have closed them. This can add to the freezing you are seeing.
