Exchange calendar invitations accepted in IOS remain "new" in iCal

My work calendar and email is based on Exchange. I manage both from a Mac (using Outlook 2011 for Mac) and an iPhone 5 running IOS 7.latest.
It works just fine. If I accept an invitation on any platform is is accepted on all. Then I look at OSX Calender (which I will refer to as iCal) and I still see a mass of invitations (the ones that I accepted on my phone or using Outlook).
I use iCal because I share calendars with the rest of my family using iCloud. So that I can view my work and home calendars in one place, I have also set up iCal to see both iCloud and Exchange calendars.
The iCloud side of the house does what I want it to do. The problem comes with the way iCal deals with calendar invitations from my Exchange account. Here goes:
I receive an Exchange calendar invitation.
I process it (accept/tentative/decline) using Outlook on the Mac or the IOS Calendar on my iPhone.
The invitation on the device I didn't use goes away.
I open iCal.
The "new" invitation is still there in iCal waiting to be processed, the only way to clear it is to accept/tentative/decline it.
I cannot find any setting to prevent this from happening. iCal seems to ignore changes in status of Exchange invitations.
Any ideas gratefully accepted! Thanks, Charlie

have had what I think is similar issue.... on both ipad and iphone.  Running IOS6.  Have gmail account setup through exchange connector.  IOS receives and accepts invites just fine from external devices....  If i create a new invite on the IOS device and add invitees with external email addresses, once this calendar invite is saved into the diary it doesnt trigger invites to go out to those 3rd parties... but the invite definitely is in the calendar as can also see it on mast google calendar.
If I then go and move the timing of the invite that has been created on the IOS device (by holding down and dragging to new time) this then immediately triggers an invite (new Invitiation, not reschedule) to be sent to the external email addresses...  any further modification to timing of invite then triggers 'reschedule' calendar invites to go out - so expected behaviour.
The issue is that IOS is not triggering the invite to go out to external parties who have been added to a newly created invite - and it only does this when the date/time of the invite is modified.
Spent about 1.5 hrs on phone to apple support yesterday - they have now passed on to 3rd level support....
Are others seeing the same behaviour as above?

  • IOS 6 Exchange calendar invitations not working

I like a lot the improved calendar invitations layout in iOS6, but for the life of me I can't seem to get it to work.
The new buttons do not seem to do anything.
My calendar is running under Exchange and I would like to know if any other users have managed to 'accept, decline or maybe' invitations on iOS6 with Exchange?
    Many thanks

  • Forwarding Exchange calendar invites from calendar app not working

We have Samsung Windows 8 phones and have discovered a problem with forwarding calendar invitations from within the calendar app on Exchange 2010 / ActiveSync.
User A on Exchange 2010 will create a new meeting request and send it to user B. User B will accept the calendar invitation on their Windows 8 phone. User B will then go into the calendar app on their phone and forwards the calendar item to User C. User
C does not receive anything nor does User A receive a notification that their original meeting invite has been forwarded. No error messages are shown on User B's phone. It's as if the forwarded item simply vanishes.
With the same scenario as above, if User B does NOT initially accept the meeting invite from User A and instead immediately forwards the invite to User C from within the MAIL app on his phone, before accepting the meeting, User C receives the invitation
as per normal and User A receives notification that their meeting request was forwarded, as expected.
If User B does NOT initially accept the meeting invite from User A, but then goes into the calendar app on their phone and attempts to forward the meeting request (showing as tentative as they have not accepted it yet), User C still does not receive anything
and User A does not get notification.
This appears to be a bug within the Calendar application on Windows 8 phones as forwarding meeting invites works fine from within the Mail app (provided the user has not accepted the meeting yet - once the meeting has been accepted in the mail app, the item
"disappears" and is no longer accessible except from within the Calendar app).
This is a pretty major issue with heavy calendar users (e.g. executives) as they will be forwarding accepted meeting requests from their calendars and without receiving any error messages will assume the forwarded invitation has gone through, when in fact
    it hasn't.

We have reproduced this issue internally and are filing a bug to get this issue fixed.  As soon as we have an update to this, we will report back on this thread.  Thank you for raising this issue.

  • Exchange calendar invites not synching

We have an iPad 2 (iOS 5.1.1) that is having calendar sync issues with Exchange (2010) calendar invites.  The issue is, when an invite is processed in Outlook, it stays in the iPad calendar “inbox” as if it has not been processed.  Some of the events will have the correct response shown (accepted, tentative, declined), others will not show any type of response.
Doing some web searches, it seems that there is a known issue with the iOS 5, but I’m curious if you know when this will be fixed, or if there is a work-around?
By removing the calendar from the mail account on the iPad, it resyncs all events correctly, but over time the invite issue comes back…
Anyone seen this or have a work-around?

I'm not sure this is what you want to hear, but we tell our users to accept all invitations for meetings they want to attend regardless of where they appear...

  • Exchange Cal. invites accepted on one device resets other devices...

    Scenario:
Accept calendar invite on MBP. Invite acceptance does not get pushed to other devices. Accepting the same calendar invite on the iPhone will reset the MBP to not accepted. Accepting it on the iPad does the same thing, resets the iPhone. The same thing happens no matter where the invite is initially accepted.
I have not seen anything related to this. i have tried removing the account from both iOS devices, as well as restoring both devices. This has only recently started happening, I'd say since the last month or 2. Google calendar works as expected. Needless to say I need my calendar invites in sync no matter which device I have.
Could this be an Exchange server issue?

  • Exchange calendar sync issues among iOS devices and Mavericks

When I add an event to a shared Exchange calendar on my Mac in iCal, and mark it as All-Day, that designation does not appear with the event on my iOS devices. Instead, it's given a 24-hour duration from 12 to 12, so to speak. Here's the confusing part: If I edit the event on my iPhone to correct it as All-Day, it does not sync that All-Day designation to my iPad. Additionally, if I then make the same correction on the iPad, toggles it on the phone and removes All-Day. Removal of All-Day designation on a device does remove it on the Mac calendar, which I then have to change back. So I chase it around in a circle and end up with the correct duration on only one iOS device. The difference in All-Day and 24 hours duration does matter graphically as many of these events run for several weeks or months. All-Day keeps them confined to the upper section of the calendar graph rather than muddying up the lowerm hourly appointments.
Any ideas on how to rectify the problem?
I'm running Mavericks, iOS 7.0.3 and using MS Exchange 2010.

There are several other posters on the Forums that are having issues with Exchange sync'ing with Mavericks. It could be that your all-day verses mutli-hour issue may be among them.
Most of the problems that people are seeing, including myself, are more to do with Mail and Calendar simply not synchronizing.
My Mail.app INBOX for my Exchange server is now several hours behind my iOS and Windows Outlook instances. Calendar appointments are simply not being pushed to the server (though they seem to be retrieved OK).
So, sorry for now help on this one directly, but you are not alone.

  • Calendar invitations accepted on iPhone 6 not showing in iCloud calendar

    Hi
When I accept mime-attachment.ics calendar invitations on my iPhone 6, the appointment in created in my iPhone calendar, but for some reason doesn't show up in the iCloud calendar (accessed through iCloud.com).  I have the latest version iOS8.1.1 on my iPhone 6.  This problem has started in the last 3 weeks.  I have a similar problem on my iPad.  The result is that I can't sync the appointments created by accepting mime-attachment.ics invitations across devices.

I'm experiencing the same issue, but I found a workaround until it is fixed. After accepting the invite via an ICS attachment, I change the calendar from Work to Home, then back to Work, and then the appointment appears in iCloud, on my Mac, etc.
    Hope that helps for now.

  • Calendar Invite Accepted Message Keeps Being Sent

I've now sent something like 100 Accept messages for a calendar invite I accepted on my phone. This is not the first time it's happened when accepting calender invites, and I can't make it stop. The person who sent the invite is getting quite annoyed. It seems to send 5 or so accept messages a day. Has anyone else seen this?

I am also seeing this. We have about 30 phones deployed and 3 or 4 meeting organizers are getting multiple responses from about 3 or 4 iPhone users. Has anybody found a work around or solution?

  • Exchange calendar on iPhone won't show up on iCal

I set up my iPhone to get email and calendar from work, which is an Exchange account. When I sync the iPhone with my laptop, the work stuff (Exchange calendar) doesn't show up on iCal.
    - On iTunes I have the settings set to Sync All Calendars
    - On the iPhone I have the Exchange account settings to get Mail, Contacts, and Calendars
How do I get this account to show up on iCal?

    Hello cclaxton,
It sounds like you were able to import around 300 photos from your phone to your computer but there are still about 100 left on the phone that will not delete, and do not show up for import in image capture or iPhoto. From what you are describe, it seems as if the photos were synced from an computer through iTunes to the phone. Use the following article to delete those synced photos from the device:
    iTunes: Syncing photos
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4236
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
    Click Apply.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Accepting an exchange calendar invite promotes me to the organizer

I use a MBP 2012 which is running OS X 10.10 and iPhone running iOS 8.1.
When I accepted a meeting invite in Exchange through the calendar app, i was made the organizer of that meeting and an invite was sent on my behalf to all other participants. I am also experiencing multiple invites being sent to all attendees for my meetings even though I did not send any updates.
Not sure if this is related to iOS8.1 or OS X Yosemite (10.10)
I recall a similar bug in iOS 6 which was later fixed by Apple.
Is anyone experiencing this issue? Even better does anyone have a workaround which will not make me an Organizer when I accept someones meeting.

Incidentally, I am on iPhoneOS 3.1.3, I have deleted the Exchange account, rebooted the iPhone, and re-created the Exchange sync.
As I said, the appointment looks fine in Exchange web access and in Outlook.

  • Microsoft exchange calendar sync issue in iOS 5.0.1

    Hi,
I have iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1 installed. My company uses Miycrosoft Exchange Server and I have synched my iPhone using the Microsoft Exchange server account option. I don't have any probelm with my emails or contacts.
However, the calendar is not synching properly. After I setup the account for the first time, I see many of my calendar items has been synced. But some of them are missing. I can't find any reason why those items are missing. I added/deleted new items on my calendar on Outlook Web Access and it showed up on my iPhone. I also tried adding/deleting items on my iPhone and they synched appropriately. The only issue is some of the pre-existing items are not showin on my iPhone and I can't find any reason for it.
I already tried to delete the account and add from scratch. I also removed the iCloud from my iPhone and tested without iCloud, no difference. I reinstalled the iCloud.
    Any help is much appreciated.

We have struggled with this as well on Exchange 2010. We just trued this today with some of our users and seems to get everything back into sync:
    On the iOS device:
    • Navigate to Settings app > Mail, Contacts, Calendar.
    • Scroll down and locate the Calendar section
    • Tap Sync (under the Calendars section)
    • Set the interval to All Events
    • Close the Settings app (Tap Home button)
I suggest rebooting the iOS device. Check the calendar and let it sync – look for those missing events.
This has worked for everyone that had the missing events issue.

  • Some exchange calendar events missing with iOS 5

I'm having difficulties with calendar events that are showing up on Outlook not showing up on the iPhone with iOS 5.  These had previosuly synced fine and been on the iPhone calendar before the upgrade to iOS 5, and only some claendar events aren't syncing correctly.  It appears to be doing this for both one-time and recurring events.  Additionally, new events on Outlook are syncing with the iPhone and new events added on the iPhone are syncing with Outlook.

Try closing all apps completely and then do a reset and see if that helps. To close all apps : from the home screen (i.e.not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Exchange calendar - invite attendee option available only on some iphones

    Hi,
    It is quite strange,
I've got an iphone 3gs with the firmware 4.02 and when I create a new meeting, I've got the mention "attendees" (my traduction from the french invités) available which let me invite people at the meeting.
When I take an iphone 3g updated to 4.02, I haven't this possibility...
Is it because the iphone is a 3G model and not a 3gs ? Should I recreate the exchange setup to get this feature on the 3G iphone like on the 3GS iphone?
Thank you for your answer to this strange problem.
    Best regards

    Hi,
I'm still waiting for an answer of any kind.
Is there anyone who knows ho to make appear this option in the apointment creation process ?

  • Longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync Bug Persists in iOS 7 / 7.0.2

For those who sync their iPhone / iPad / iPod touch to a Microsoft Exchange e-mail environment, you may be aware that there's a longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync bug (affecting iOS 4.x - 6.1.3).  An otherwise functional iDevice may suddenly remain warmer to the touch than normal, exhibit much shorter battery life, and start using cellular data at up to ten times the user's typical pattern.  I've taked with Apple Support several times, and was never able to get an answer.  The fix involves simply opening the Exchange account settings on the iDevice, shutting off calendar sync for thirty seconds, and turning it back on.  This is nothing new.
Over the weekend, an executive’s iPhone 5 (on Verizon) and his iPad 2 (Wi-Fi only), both running iOS 7, began exhibiting runaway connections to my employer’s Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync server.  The user upgraded his iPhone 5 to iOS 7.0.2 over the weekend, but the problem persisted.  In one 24-hour period, his iPhone checked in with our server 45,009 times, while his iPad connected 55,547 times.  Normally we’d expect to see a single device connect a few hundred times per day rather than tens of thousands.
I've written more about it here.

This is still a problem in iOS 7.0.4 as well.  We just had runaway calendar sync behavior on a 4th generation iPad running iOS 7.0.4 (iPad3C4/1102.55400001), which connected 75,436 times in a single 24-hour day.
