Exchange Connector for 365 cloud email

We are hoping to use the Exchange Connector 3.0 for SCSM (Service Manager). Do we have to install the API on the Exchange server in the cloud to accomplish this? Also does the Exchange Connector 3.0 work with Exchange 2007?

Using Office 365 there should be nothing you need to install in the cloud. You will need to install the Exchange Web Services Managed API client dll on your SCSM management server.
In the documentation for the Exchange Connector, it states it was tested on Exchange 2010 and Office 365. I'm not sure if it will work or not because Exchange 2007 doesn't have the same remote PowerShell abilities as 2010. I know this is why the Orchestrator
IP for Exchange will not work on 2007.

  • Exchange Connector / Office 365 Not matching affected user to AD user

We use Office 365 to host our email services.   AD is not synchronized to office 365.  We're bringing Exchange on premises soon so there isn't a lot we want to invest in that existing infrastructure.  I'm using Service Manager 2012 R2.
I have the ADConnector configured, bringing in Active Directory users/groups/computers.
I've gotten the Exchange Connector running in order to retrieve emails from an "IT Services" Office 365 mailbox and automatically create tickets.  Notifications back to the users are working fine.
The problem I'm having is the affected user is not being set properly when a user emails the mailbox and an incident is created.  It is setting the Affected User to that user's name, but when I double click the Affected user, it brings up the "User
    - <UserName>" screen.    All of the information that would be coming in from AD is blank.  So that association between my office 365 email address and the AD user account is not being made.   Even though it says my name with
correct (username) on the incident as the affected user.  And even though my email address is stored inside of AD in the e-mail field.
What am I missing in this process?
    Thank you,
    Mark

I ended up messing around and added a UPN to AD Domains and Trusts matching the domain of our email accounts through Office 365.  I found this because similar preparation is required for AD sync to Office 365, so a proper match can be made.
So for example, if our internal domain is Contoso.Local, and our email addresses are [email protected]
I added a UPN for contosolimited.com in Active Directory Domains & Trusts.  Then I changed my UPN in Active Directory Users and Computers (Account tab), to @contosolimited.com.
Now when the AD Connector ran, it set my user CI UPN (in the Extensions tab) to [email protected]  I then sent an email to [email protected] and it matched my email correctly to my user CI created by the AD Connector.
Now I just have to run a script against AD to update all user UPNs to @contosolimited.com from @Contoso.local.

  • ICF Exchange connector for OIM 11gR2

When i installed Exchange connector i saw that the process form does not contain objectGUID field . So when we link AD and exchange with depends on tab in design console how will Exchange provisioning process get to know whether AD is provisioned or not?

The linking as far as I know depends upon your recon key field and the recon rule. Since AD & Exchange are tied together, we follow the same recon field and rule (Atleast I haven't seen different recon field or rule for these two systems).
Now suppose you have a user in OIM and you manually create AD/Exchange for the user and then do a target Exchange recon, OIM will show up exchange as provisioned state even though OIM does not have AD resource information. This is the case for recon.
While doing provisioning, since the exchange resource has dependency with AD resource object, that's the reason why exchange would be in waiting state before AD gets into provisioned state.
For the objectGUID, you can remove it from all the configurations of AD and Exchange & the connector would still work fine as long as you have a valid recon key field.
    Hope this helps,

  • GW2k3 Exchange connector smtp addressing

    Hello all.
I am having some trouble with the exchange connector for Groupwise 7 to exchange 2k3.
What we want to do may be a bit strange and I'm not sure if the connector will even allow us to do this.
We would like to use the connector to sync users between AD and Groupwise however we do not want the connector to handle the mail routing between the systems. What we would like it to do is use the SMTP addresses ([email protected]) instead of the GWISE:Domain.po.username address.
On the Groupwise side of things this seems to have been very easy to setup we just went to the external domain and selected internet addressing and specified that we wanted it to use the [email protected] However the exchange side is proving to be more of a challenge. We have tried setting the recipient policies to use the SMTP address as a primary however the imported contacts inside of outlook still list the primary email address as GWISE:domain.po.username. If we try to remove the GWISE address from the imported users it says that this is the home address of the user and it cannot be removed.
Is there any way to not sync the GWISE address over to AD and just use SMTP? Or is there a way to sync GWISE address but use the SMTP as the primary for all imported users?
If anyone has attempted this or something similar any help would be appreciated.

The whole purpose of the gateway is to route email between the systems.
The addressbook visibility is provided to support this purpose.
If you are just trying to email addressing, then I believe you would
accomplish what you seem to be trying to do by setting up an LDAP addres
book on exchange pointing to eDir, and the reverse in GW.
If you are actually wanting to sync users in both systems, you might want
    to consider implementing an IDM.

  • How to configure SCSM exchange connector when exchange server is in different domain.

We installed/configured SCSM in ABC domain and now need to use exchange connector for incident alert mail.
But exchange server is in different domain, say XYZ.
    How do we configure?
    Thanks,
    Abhilash

Cannot configure trust at AD level. But in the config article, following points are given.. but not clear on first 2 steps. Also, we did not find option to "navigate to certificate template and right click certificate templates".
sorry, i dont have much exp with certificates. If steps are described little more clear, would be helpful.
    a.     If your Service Manager management server does not have a trusted relationship with the Exchange Server, open Certificate Services and create a duplicate copy of the Web Server Certificate Template. Ensure that Private Key Export and Publish
in AD are selected, and then add Read and Enroll permission to Authenticated Users.
    b.     In Certificate Services, navigate to Certificate Template and right-click Certificate Templates. Click New and then click Certificate Template to Issue. Select the template that you created in the previous step.
    c.     In Exchange Server, open the Microsoft Management Console and add the Certificates snap-in for the local computer. Right-click the Personal logical store, and then hover over All Tasks.
    d.     Select Request for New certificate and in the Certificate Enrollment wizard, select Active Directory Enrollment Policy and select the template that you created previously. When you select the certificate, you can click More Information to type
the Exchange Server’s FQDN name as the common name in the Subject tab. You can also type the FQDN name as the Friendly Name in the General tab.

  • Exchange Connector -  Exchange-11.1.1.5.0

    hi all,
I want to use Exchange Connector for Exchange 2010 - "Exchange-11.1.1.5.0".
In certification matrix it states that it is certified with 'Exchange 2010 SP1' I have SP2 can i use this connector with Exchange 2010 SP2 as well?
is it a stable connector with good performance? do you recommend it to be used or the previous versions of AD and Exchange connectors 9.1.x are better? pleas share your experience.....
    Thanks....

    Hi ,
Please note that 9.x Exchange connector is not certified on Exchange 2010 SP2 (i have confirmed this with oracle and they have raised an enhancement request on this too). So if your env is 2010 sp2 , then 11.1.1.5.0 Exchange connector is the only option .

  • Send connector for forwarded emails not being used by Exchange 2013

Hi we have 3 Exchange 2013 CU5 servers in a DAG setup and need to forward emails for some of the users to another domain. The problem is our outgoing spam filter seems to quarantine a lot of these emails which are  not spam. The problem is that I
created a send connector for  the domain we are forwarding to (say contonso.com for illustrative purposes). Gave the send connector the name contonso.com, selected use MX record (didn't select Use the external DNS lookup settings on servers with transport
roles) and added contonso.com in the address space gave it cost of 1. Added all the exchnage servers under source server. And clicked save. I then changed the cost to 2 on the main send connector with the domain as * which goes trhough our oput bound spam
filter yet email I  send to one of the recipients with a forward inplace still go through that connector. Can anyone tell what i'm doing wrong or explain why this wouldn't work as expected ?

Easy question, did you enable the connector? :)

  • Exchange Connector 3.0 not processing Office 365 mailbox

    Hi,
I have Service Manager 2012 SP1 configured with Exchange Connector 3.0. The mailbox to be monitored is in Office 365. everything was running fine last week until I removed the federation trust and connectors from our On-premise Exchange servers as part of
the On-premise Exchange server decommissioning process to remove the Exchange Hybrid configuration.
Now the Exchange Connector does not monitor the mailbox of the configured user in the "run as account", no new incidents are displayed when users sent an email to the run as account. No errors are logged in the Event Viewer for the Exchange Connector.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
Set up the detailed logging and then see in the Operations Manager's log what happens when the Exchange Connector is running.

  • SCSM Exchange Connector Help, NO ADFS Exchange 365

Im struggling to find what Im doing wrong here, I have followed the connector docs for setting this up and have also read plenty of forums but still having no luck. The one thing Im having a difficult time understanding is the email impersonation setup.
Are there powershell commands I "have" to use to get this to work?
So here is what I have done so far
*created AD account with a .com account vs our .local domain account because we are not federated
*gave that account admin local and also console admin on SCSM server
    * created reg entries as needed for 365
    * created workflow account with .com account as well
*not sure if it was needed but created SMTP instance local as well.
Any help would be awesome... Thank you

Can anyone give me an idea here :\

  • Exchange connector to Office 365

    Dears,
I am beginner to SCSM, so please forgive my non professional questions.....
I am trying to connect my Service Manager to Office 365, and I have below questions
In general settings > Enter one or more active directory: I added my local domain (John.Lab)
    Is this correct?
In server settings > Use Auto discovery: I did not check it Is this correct?
In server settings > Exchange Server URL, I added: "https://pod51036.outlook.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx" is this correct or do I have to add:
    https://pod51036.outlook.com/owa?
In server settings > User impersonation  can I use this settings to link it with my IR since I am using office 365? "actually this is the main reason for my exchange connector?
In server settings  > Run as account:
can I use a domain user account which does not have Mailbox and
    mail address?
    Thank you

    Hi,
    1. This is correct
    2. This is correct
    3. This looks good. Otherwise, try
    https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx
    4. No. You must not check this option.
    5. You have to create a separate Run As account. The username would be [Office 365 Domain]\[Office 365 User Name], and the Password. SCSM will not be able to validate the credentials, however you can still accept it.

  • Configure send connector for exchange online protection

    Hello Forum members,
I am trying to configure send and receive connectors for Exchange 2010 to route
on-premises mailboxes to Exchange OnLine Protection.  The "help" info MS provides
is for Ex 2013 - and the EAC GUI and config does not lend a close fit to using the 2010
Exch Management Console.  How can I configure connectors to properly connect to the Exchange Online Protection?
I have seen where the ip addresses are posted, etc.  I am unclear how to configure the properties on the SBS 2011/EX 2010 server.
    Any tips will help,

    Network and Server Installs

    Hello Wesleyhe,
You cannot use AD anything with EOP - if you mean exchange on-line protection.
you have to set a smart host on the SBS server to connect to EOP, you may need to add the EOP server ips to your network config
on the SBS server.  the smart host line (for the send connector on SBS server) is something like: yourdomainname-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.
Then you need to configure the outside ip for your SBS server access in the EOP admin area.
    Hope this helps.

As Roger said, iCloud does not support external POP accounts.
However, you can configure your Max to directly receive your Yahoo! email by following these instructions:

Note that this works (for me) without a Yahoo Plus! account - and make sure that you scroll down to the comment at the end of the article which has all of the correct settings in one place.
