Exchange Contacts Birthdays 1 day off

All birhtdays synced over exchange on my Q10 are exactly one day too early. This is a very old and known problem on many mobile platforms.
My time zones are all GMT +1 on every device.
Here is a short post explaining the issue from another forum:
I just want to inform you that Microsoft identified the reason for shifted birthdays using Exchange Active Sync. According to Microsoft the mentioned problem is not caused by a server-related problem, but due to an error in a Microsoft sample code which was used in Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Phone 7, Hotmail Outlook Connector and even in iOS. That means that the client side connection was developed incorrectly. Microsoft and Apple copied the incorrect code from time to time using the mentioned Exchange code in their software (iOS, etc).
However, Microsoft already fixed the birthday bug within the latest update of the Outlook Hotmail Connector (please check changelog) as well as in the current update of Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango).
Please fix this issue

I am also experiencing the same "Birthday Bug" issue on my Q10.  The birthdays appear correct in Outlook (via Exchange) but one day early on the bb.  Even when i edit the date on my phone, after a few minutes, the one-day-early phenomenon re-appears.  Bloody annoying!

  • [OSX 10.8.2] Birthdays in Calendar - 1 Day Off

Just downloaded Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and sync'd my Facebook contacts with my Mac contacts. The birthday calendar shows that a number of birthdays are one day off. How do I fix this?

It seems that when no birth year is specified, birthdays are pushed 1 day ahead.
    Any solution out there?

  • All of the birthday's and holidays on my iPhone are one day off.

All of the birthday's and holidays on my iPhone are one day off (one day early).  I sync it with my iPad and my iPad is correct.  Does anyone know why my iphone is one day off?

Go into Settings...Mail, Calendar and Contacts and siwtch off the Contacts section from the account in question.
The phone should ask you if you want to keep or erase the contacts stored on you phone.
However, if they aren't synched to anything and only exist on your iPhone, you'll have to delete them all one by one

  • In iCal, "Available Meeting Times" greys out working hours one day off, MS Exchange

I am using iCal, accessing an MS Exchange server. When setting up a meeting, "Available Meeting Times" greys out the non-working hours of potential meeting participants. However, the days are one day off. E.g. the working hours of my collegues are displayed are Tuesday-Sunday instead of Monday-Friday. The dates and times of meetings are relayed correctly. Only the display of the working hours seems to be off.
Needless to say that my collegues are using Windows Outlook, and everything works there.

I still have the same issue. Had it ever since at least 2010 and meanwhile we switched Exchange-Servers and I'm on Mavericks, but still. Looks to me as if iCal requests something like "getWorkDays" from teh Server. The Server probably replies [2,3,4,5,6]. When the week starts on Sunday, this is perfectly fine. But if the Week starts on Monday, this will give you Tue-Sat as available Days. So it might be a bug in either Exchange or iCal to treat that information correctly, but I'm not obv. not sure about that.

  • Birthday calendar for Exchange contacts

    Hi,
is the automatically created birthday calendar in iCal only capable of displaying the birthdays of local contacts or what can I do to include the birthdays of my Exchange contacts as well?
    Thank you in advance!

This behavior has been reported recently here, and yet no solution is provided by Apple.

  • IOS5.1 Exchange sync - birthdays not shown in Day view

    iPhone 4s, IOS 5.1
Sync'd with Exchange using Outlook 2010 - Sorry, I don't know what the server version of Exchange is.
Outlook shows birthdays in my calendar, as having start and end as 12am, on the same day, correct recurrence patterns, etc.
If I look in iPhone Calendar, 'Day View', nothing is shown.
If I look in iPhone Calendar, 'List View', I can see them.
I generally live in 'Day View', I expect the birthdays to show up.
What can I do, if anything, to make the birthdays show up in 'Day view'?
    Assistance greatly appreciated.

Calendar -> Day View - Move to a day that has birthdays (2 days ago or tomorrow), scroll down to the bottom, nothing. Attempt scrolling past top and bottom to no effect.
Calendar -> List View - Birthdays visible
Calendar -> Month View - Birthdays visible underneath the calendar

  • Why are my contacts birthdays all two days out on my iPhone?

Why are my contacts birthdays all two days out on my iPhone? They show as correct on my MacBook Pro and my iPad but not my phone. When i try and change them they revert back to being two days out.

Welcome to the Apple Community Rob.
    Please try the following…
        1.    First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
        2.    Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
        3.    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • All contact birthdays are now listed as the day prior

Weird problem that affects my iCal and Address Book. I've recently noticed that every single one of my contacts' birthdays are now listed as the date prior to the actual birthday (the date that was entered in the first place). Not sure when this happened, but it has been since upgrading to Snow Leopard (but I'm not really sure that it occurred because of the upgrade). Has anyone had this problem? I'd love a quick fix, one that doesn't require me manually changing every single contact's birthday. But more than that, I'd like to know why this happened in order to hopefully prevent it in the future. Thanks.

I just discovered the same thing.Had to got through and manually change every birthday. Interestingly, the change was in Addressbook, which is where iCal gets its info.

  • Outlook displays date of birthdays one day too early in MS Office 2007, 2010 and 2013

    Hi
We are supporting several clients that has issues with Outlook. Different versions of Windows, Office and different exchange server versions. Some contacts' birthdays
just "magically" changes to one day too early.  I have done extensive research with no answer. I have experienced this issue personally as early as about 2005 or 2006 with a Windows Mobile PDA.
Our local time is GMT +2 without daylight-savings. I have checked the settings in Windows (Vista Pro and Win 7 pro
x86 and x64) and the calendar settings, I have reloaded a couple of pc's, created new profiles, installed new server hardware with newer exchange.  Even tried a few off-the-wall ideas like resetting all views to default.
Some users' address books are shared, some not. Some uses Apple, Android, BB or Windows phone, some don't.  Some connects through VPN, some don't. Some uses
AVG, Avast, Eset Nod, Forticlient, Mcafee, etc....
I have been fighting this problem for months, and can find no conclusive answer that resolves this.
If I manually open the contact and rectify the date, it will stay correct for a very random time period and then shift
    again.
I am about to lose a couple of my biggest clients, and probably my job as well, so I need urgent help.
Please no remarks on OS version, Office version or mobile devices, as this is definitely not the issue.
    HELP!

    Hi,
Have the users check on OWA, does the issue persist? Please also make sure the timezone of Exchange is also properly configured.
I'm not an expert about Exchange, I hope this blog can be helpful:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/fun_with_powershell/archive/2013/04/30/where-is-the-time-zone-property-stored-in-exchange-2010.aspx
To further dig the problem, rectify the date on owa and drop Outlook for a while(or one day), check the result the next day if the problem will come back.

  • Iphone iOS 4 Contact Birthday Date Bug.

    Hello,
Every time I add a contact and add their birthday the date of the birthday automatically moves by one day.
For example, I will select someones birthday as the 23rd of march and click done but the contact birthday shows 24th. Even if I select a random date say 1st June, it will say 2nd.
When I go into the calendar app and display the birthday calendar the birthdays are right though, it will have a notification as a birthday on the 23rd.
I have done a fresh restore from a backup and as a new iphone, still I have the error.
I'm thinking that the contact list in iOS4 is set to a specific timezone different from my phones timezone as it adjusts it for a day. I live in New Zealand and my timezone settings are set to Auckland, New Zealand, even in the calendar time zone. When I change my timezone settings to somewhere in the USA it automatically changes the contacts birthdays to the correct date. When I change it back it adjusts te birthdays by a day again. This would be correct as the 23rd in USA would be the 24th here but my contacts are not in a different timezone so why does my iphone think they are? Even if a add a new contact it still changes the birthday date.
    Any help would be great.

    Hello,
I have the same problem, and it was the same even for previous versions of iPhone OS. I don't think it's a time zone issue, as I am living in Norway and the reports here are the same from various locations.
However, I think I might have found a workaround for this problem. Normally I have my mail, contacts and calendar synced via Exchange. When I in addition to syncing with Exchange select "Sync contacts with Outlook" in the "info" tab in iTunes on my computer, the dates appear to be transferred correctly. But then again, this gives me several contact groups on my iPhone, whilst I really only want and need one group, the Exchange contacts. Anyway, the contacts appear only once when I select the "group" all contacts on my iPhone.
Hope this can be of any help until the bug is fixed.

  • Outlook 2007 birthday 1 day before in iPhone

    Hi,
I sync my iPhone v2.1 with Outlook 2007 on Windows.
All birhtdays in Outlook appear one day off in the iPhone.
A Nov 3rd birthday, appears on Nov 2nd in the iphone contact birthday field.
On the iPhone I switched TomeZone off. On Outlook I'm not using timezones either.
I tried to turn TimeZone on and set it to the same zone as my Outlook. Still no success.
Even deleting the contact on the iPhone side, then forcing a PC -> iPhone sync doesn't change anything...
    Any clue?

    Well, I did some testing.
First, it looks like it may be related to the stupid Outlook default reminder added to birthdays.
The ones off date are the ones that have a 15min reminder in Outlook.
To remove those reminders, in Outlook, go to January, display in Month view and then double-click each birthday occurence in the calendar.
Say that you want to edit the SERIE.
Set the reminder to "none" (not 0min) and save. Do this until Dec 31.
Sync by imposing Outlook->iPhone. Does it solve the problem?
Now it solved some birthdays. But not all. I have a hunch that iTunes/iPhone behave correctly with burthdays on and after 1980, not before.
    Don't know.
What do you guys experience? Any clue?

  • IOS 4 Contact Birthday Date Bug.

    iPad 2, iOS 4.3.3
iPad iOS decreases by one day all birthday data of my 2150 contacts after syncing with my Google account immediately.
I see this is a very old bug and you have to know about it.
My day work is nowhere and I can start again.
Don't tell me please I have to change all data manually again.
Solve this bug at last. Be so kind.
    Thank you very much.
Do you have any better solution already?

  • Contact Birthday Date Sync Problem N9

    I have a Nokia N9.
I sync calendar and contacts with my Google Account via the MfE account on my N9.
    The Calendar entries work correctly.
However, the Birthday and Anniversary date entries for my contacts mis-sync by one calendar day.
For example, if a contact has a birthday on 10th November in my Google contacts, it displays as 11th November in my N9 Contacts list. Interestingly, if you 'click on' the birthday field from the Contacts entry, it will take you to the 10th November in the Calendar (that is, the correct date!).
The time zone in both Google and the phone are correct and set the same (Syd/Mel, GMT +11). The formats are the same (24hr Clock etc). There are no alarms set as reminders in either Google or the phone.
Anybody know how to make the phone sync the dates correctly? Thanks

I’ve had another look at this.
I was wrong about the birthday in the contact taking you to the most recent one; not sure what I did but it was finger trouble.
Unfortunately, it has just reiterated the original problem.
For example, there is a contact in my list with a birthdate of 3rd December, 1958.
The Birthday field in Google Contacts shows 3rd December 1958.
The Birthday field in N9 Contacts shows 4th December 1958.
When you open the Contact page to edit the individual fields and tap on the Birthday field, it takes you to December 1958 and highlights .... the 3rd!!
I clicked on the 3rd and then saved the changes to the Contact Birthday field in the N9 and it still showed the 4th.
I have had auto time update ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ and I have changed the time zone in my phone from GMT+11 in increments to GMT-4 and nothing changes in the Birthday field.
It looks like the error lies in the birthday coding.

  • How can I back up my exchange contacts to icloud

    Good day
Our company has just lost our ms exchange server information. I am tasked to restore what I can but the situation looks dire. My fear is that when the clients with iphones (all the managers and myself) sync with their mailboxes with an empty contacts list, there phones will update to that contact list and they will lose all contacts on their phone that they have.
Can I somehow back up their exchange contacts to ICloud? My phone doen't let me.
My idea is: re-create their mail boxes, retrieve the contacts from the cloud, and in doing so, restore their contacts to their exchange account when it sync.
    Hope you can help
    Jacques

Open Contacts on your phone and tap Groups.  Then check to see what group the contacts belong to.  If they don't belong to an iCloud group, they won't sync with iCloud.

  • My iPad is not syncing properly with my calendar on my computer.  Everything is a day off on the IPad.  Any suggestions?

My iPad calendar is not syncing properly with my computer.  Everything in the iPad Calendar is one day off....any suggestions?

    Susan,
Also note that the calender can be set to preserve a time zone by going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and turning ON Time Zone Support - but then your flight times will be correct for the local time zone...found that one while on travel and the calender was showing a flight time that was an hour earlier than I thought it was.  I had not turned on Time Zone support and it moved the time I had entered at home to the time of the local zone.
Convenient as long as you pay attention
