Exchange doesn't create site mailbox

Hi everyone, I have Exchange server 2013 sp1 (15.0.847.31) and Sharepoint server 2013 (15.0.4535.1000). I configured SP and exchange for site mailbox (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj552524%28v=office.15%29.aspx), but sharepoint/exchange was
not creating site mailbox. If I create site mailbox manually (new-sitemailbox cmdlet), everything working fine. If I try create site mailbox from Sharepoint site, I was redirected to exchange OWA (personal mailbox) and  site mailbox was not created.
any ideas why site mailbox is not creating automatically?

Hi Konstantin
I think your problem is related to Exchange delegation.  As you are creating site mailbox, so to become a “mailbox administrator”, you need to do the following: -
You need to provide apposite rights for the Mailbox Administrator user account on the OU. The user accounts exist in here so that Mailbox Administrator user account can read/write all user attributes.
Add the Mailbox Administrator user account to the local overseer group on the mailbox server cluster.
I hope that you find this information useful.

  • Can't access site mailbox- Exchange 2013

    Hi
Please I have been refered to the Exchange 2013 forum Support team by the SharePoint Team to resolve a complex issue that is unfortunately taking quite some time to resolve. I currently manage a Sharepoint 2013 environment. I have a requirement
to configure and enable the creation of site mailboxes.
So, I have Sharepoint 2013 installed on A.contoso.com which has all the user accounts( Account Forest). As a means of using the Sharepoint 2013 site mailbox feature, another domain( resource domain) called B.contoso.com has been created. Exchange 2013 has
been setup on B.contoso.com. All the lengthy services on Sharepoint and Exchange 2013 have been configured. A two way trust has been established between both domains. I am able to access resources both ways. On the other hand, when ever I or a user tries to
access a site mailbox it prompts that a mailbox has been created and then takes you to the OWA page of which login credentials don't work. I'm having to now create a linked mailbox and specify the users account in the accounts domain in order to enable a user
login to the created site mailbox. Furthermore, When, I access Exchange management Center I don't see the site mailboxes listed. I only see the linked mailboxes for the account holders. I am only able to view the site mailboxes through powershell.
Please, I would appreciate it if anyone can help.
    Dominic

looks as if there are not many exhange 2013 experts around. Please could you someone look into my question.

  • Unable to configure site mailbox at the sub site level and new site collections created

    hi all,
i am trying to get the site mailbox up in my  SP 2013 env's sub sites and site collections.
i am able to get the site mailbox created on root site collection level ONLY.
but i am getting the error  code 8 when i try to add the site mail box at the sub site level and the newly created site collections on the same web appln.
    error code 8:
An error occurred during the OAuth handshake between SharePoint and Exchange. This is typically caused by server to server configuration issues, such as a realm value mismatch on either side, certificate issues for Exchange or SharePoint, etc. Review certificates
and attempt to establish or reestablish trust.
so is it possible to create site mailbox at the sub site level [ team site] ?
and  what are the  steps i needed to perform on exchange server level.

  • Site mailbox and EWS 'Email address can't be found' error

Company I work for has sharepoint 2013 in the cloud as long as exchange (both cloud and on prem)
I have been writing some applications using C# and Exchange EWS to access site mailboxes to do things with email.
Out of the 3 site boxes we created, 2 work just fine but the 3rd just keeps saying 'Email address can't be found'
we can get into the site box through sharepoint, we can send emails to it no problem and we can send emails from it.  any ideas why this box doesn't show while the others do? the 3rd box does show up in search lists (say adding it as a delegate)

    all in the cloud.
they all end in the same domain.
I can use my on prem credentials to hit some but not the one. I can use a service account to hit the same ones but not the one through code.

     Any help?

    Hello Amy,
I will try to follow your suggestions. I will update once I get access to the server.
Anyways, the whole thing was back to normal for 1 day on its own, but right now the issue is happening again. Permission-wise, the account I used is in listed Organization Management role
Update: I forgot to try the EMS, but after I recycle the

  • Exchange Server 2013 SP1 - How to create Resource Mailbox on powershell?

    Hi,
I'm having a hard time trying to create a resource mailbox. The "Resource" page on ECP doesn't have the option to create (probably after the SP1 update deploy) so I'm trying to create on Powershell. The problem is that the help examples doesn't
work, and I can't find it online either. It seems that with SP1 the command or the parameters changed.
    Here's an example (get-help new-mailbox -examples):
New-Mailbox -UserPrincipalName [email protected] -Alias confmbx -Name ConfRoomMailbox -Database "Mailbox
Database 1" -OrganizationalUnit Users -Room -ResetPasswordOnNextLogon $true
A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'UserPrincipalName'
There's a lot of parameters that cannot be found. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Try this:
    In PS Command:
New-Mailbox -Database “DB2013″ –Name ConferenceRoom1 –OrganizationalUnit “Resourse” -DisplayName “ConferenceRoom1″ –Room
To verify if the Room mailbox created:
    Get-Mailbox ConferenceRoom1 | FL Name, RecipientTypeDetails, PrimarySmtpAddress

  • Creating multiple mailboxes on Exchange 2007 fails

    Hi All,
We have a problem to create multiple mailboxes simultaneously on Exchange 2007 using the OIM Exchange connector. Only one of the mailboxes is created when multiple powershell scripts are launched at the same time. This problem only occurs in the production environment and not on the Exchange 2007 test server. Therefore it's likely to be an Exchange 2007 server setting causing the other powershell processes and mailboxes to fail. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
    Thanks,
    Albin

    hi.
have you managed to solve this issue? we have a similar problem when updating some exchange mailbox variables through powershell cmds via OIM. if we run several cmds simultaneously, or right after each other, only the first one is run. tried googling it, but no luck so far.
    thanks,

  • Create Powershell Mailbox Exchange 2010 from remote server slow

I create AD Users and Mailboxes from servers via PowerShell script from a remote machine.
It worked fine and all of a sudden it takes anywhere between 10 and 20 minutes for the mailbox to create.
I logged into the remote powershell script machine, opened PowerShell ISE and tested with the following scripts, with –Verbose, and this was the result:
    Add-PSSnapin -Name Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.E2010
    Enable-Mailbox -Identity 'DOMAIN/OU/OU/testcreateUser' -Alias 'testcreateUser' -Database 'Database1'-Verbose
Everything runs fine up to this point, and hangs for 10 minutes:
VERBOSE: [09:07:34.120 GMT] Enable-Mailbox : [Microsoft Cmdlet Extension Agent] Read Email Address Policy for organization "" from domain controller xxx.
VERBOSE: [09:07:34.151 GMT] Enable-Mailbox : [Microsoft Cmdlet Extension Agent] Found Email Address Policy "Default Policy".
VERBOSE: [09:16:12.543 GMT] Enable-Mailbox : [Microsoft Cmdlet Extension Agent] Add Primary Email Address X400:C=xxxxx
Any idea why it hangs at the Default Policy?

Check if there are any non-SMTP email addresses listed in the Email Address Policy.  If there is, then it might be trying to find a server that has that proxyagent.dll file that is associated with the address extension.  This is common when there
are different versions of Exchange installed in the environment.
Also, use the -domaincontroller switch with your enable-mailbox cmd and point to a DC local to the Exchange server that you are connecting to.

  • Site mailboxes with Exchange Online?

    Hi All,
We would like to use Site Mailboxes with our On-Prem 2013 Ent deployment. In addition to our On-prem deployement, we also have the full O365 suite including Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, etc.
Question: Can we use Site Mailboxes in our On-prem environment, connected to Exchange online?
The tables at the bottom of the following article indicates that SharePoint Online must be included in the O365 subscription, but the notes are not clear as to whether it is a requirement to use the SharePoint Online instance of SharePoint or if we could
    use our On-Prem instance.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/exchange-online-sharing-and-collaboration.aspx

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to use SharePoint 2013 on-prem and Exchange online for Site mailbox feature.
I’d like to briefly introduce the Site mailbox creation in SharePoint online at first. The Site mailbox is enabled by the site collection admin and the whole creation process is finished from the background. For the users who want to access the Site mailbox,
it requires the SharePoint online users to also have the Exchange online licenses.
In SharePoint on-premise, the Site Mailbox requires Exchange Server 2013 is mentioned in this SharePoint Server 2013 instruction:
Configure site mailboxes in SharePoint Server 2013.
Since Exchange on-premise includes more features and capabilities than Exchange online, I’ think it’s not feasible to integrate the SharePoint on-premise to the Exchange online service for setting up the Site Mailbox feature.

  • Exchange 2010 cannot create mailbox

    Hi
I cannot create a mailbox on the exchange, I am getting an error: 'You must provide a value for this property'..

Hi Guy's, that for the replies so far...
let me fill in a few gaps.
    We had a server crash on a old exchange server(Exch 2010 sp1)
We created a new server and imported all the mail to the new server.
There now was still some reverences to the old server. It was removed from adsiedit but it is still stuck in some places and i think that is what is causing the issue. The old server does not exist anymore so could not uninstall.
i Have restarted the Exchange server so all services has been restarted.
    Error in the application log:

When we try and create a new user we get the error above. i Do specify the mailbox db to use as you can still see the old on in there but no luck...

  • Restore Exchange DB after Recreation of mailboxes to New Exchange(low priority)

    Hello to Everyone
Recently one client of mine had a problem with an exchange migration that he tried (2010 to 2013) and he needed to restore his old EDB  from windows backup to restore 10 Mailboxes that he had already migrated. We run the whole procedure with  eseutil,
ISINTEG  etc.  The problem was that the client had already deleted the mailboxes and the AD Users and recreated them on a new database. When I tried to export or move the mailboxes the Power Shell reported unknown error and as I understood tried
to Read from active directory GUID and couldn't find the same and Stopping.
We solved the problem with the OST to PST files relied on the computers but I would like to hear from your experience if we had other Alternatives?
I could think only to restore Exchange and the domain controller on a VLAN so they have the same AD Objects and then Export all mailboxes to PSTs and then Re import them to the New Exchange Server.
    Thank you
    Alexios

Not sure the steps you took, however based upon your brief explanation it sounds as though you were able to restore and rollup the logs using eseutil, correct?
Did you then use the RDB process to mount this DB onto an Exchange 2010 Server?
Assuming the above is correct you should then be able to restore the mailbox from the source DB into a temporary user mailbox as outlined here
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee332351%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx
If the above doesn't work for you the other option would be to use a 3rd party tool like Lucid8's DigiScope
http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp which would allow you to easily open the Offline 2010 EDB to see all the mailboxes and their contents.  You can then easily export to PST or directly
recover/migrate data from the offline 2010 EDB into the 2013 Production Exchange Server
Search, Recover, & Extract Mailboxes, Folders, & Email Items from Offline Exchange Mailbox and Public Folder EDB's and Live Exchange Servers or Import/Migrate direct from Offline EDB to Any Production Exchange Server, even cross version i.e. 2003
    --> 2007 --> 2010 --> 2013 with Lucid8's
    DigiScope
    1. Yes Troy that is correct. I soft repair the db but it was continuing to be in dirty state. So I hard repaired it and came to a clean state.
    2. I then Created a recoveryDB and tried to move mailboxes to temp mailboxes or export mailboxes etc.
    3. There was no luck with the above, the power-shell reported that the mailbox GUID has changed and don't match with the AD signature, I am thinking this is probably because  the client has already recreated all the mailboxes to a new db with the same
usernames-mails. In the end and after one day of tries I recommended a third party tool that I tried and I have seen that finds all the data of the mailboxes or if we have the OST of the users to convert them to PST. They used the second suggestion with OST
    and I restored everything.
I posted this problem for brainstorming and if anyone else had the same problem or might have an idea why this happened. :)
    Thanks

  • Need to add site mailbox back

    Hello,
We are using O365 with sharepoint online, I created a site mailbox, the mailbox was added to my outlook client. I then remove it from my outlook client, using the 'close' option. Now my question is, how can I add it back ?
I tried removing myself from ownership of the sharepoint site, and adding me back, I tried adding additional mailbox, but outlook doesn't recognize the mailbox name...

Have you thought about doing a Time Machine Restore? Just back up ant new information created after the deleted user and restore your server to a date before the deleted account.
