Exchange E-Mail not Respecting "Off-Peak" Settings on Phone Start-Up

I've got my work exchange e-mail set-up on my phone to have a quiet time before 8am, after 6pm and al;l day at the weekend when sync is set to "Manual".
This works fine 99% of the time -except if my phone has been switched off.  When the phone is switched back on, it ALWAYS seems to do a mail sync on this account, regardless of whether it is a "Peak" or "Off-peak" time.
This is using the Sony-installed "Email" app v 6.1 on a Z2 with 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware.
Anyone else seeing this?  Any fixes?
Thanks.

Confused as to which setting should be on "Push" ???
I want e-mail checked every hour, between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
I want e-mail not checked at all (except manually) all day at the weekend, and before 8am and after 6pm during the week.
My current settings are in the attached screen shot.  What should they be to get the schedule listed above to work?
Thanks!

  • Mail not deleting off Exchange server when deleted offline

Here's a new issue. I use Mail to connect to multiple email accounts - one of them is on an Exchange server. When working online everything works fine. But, when I'm working offline (like on an airplane) and I delete items, when I get back online those deletions do not sync with the server.
Any ideas? This seems to be a new problem (I recently got a MacbookAir, but have been doing this with an older Mac for years).
Also, I use this same Exchange account with an iPad and an iPhone and it works fine.
Hopefully someone will tell me that this is a new problem and it will be fixed in 10.6.7.
    Thanks,
    David

Thank you very much.  That makes perfect sense and I'm sure your right.
However I'd have no idea what address to put and where.  (DNS/Port forwarding/Firewall in router settings?).  Before you say ask your IT man in the office; thats me, (very small company!).  I'd have to outsource this one to our IT guys and at a few hundred quid for a call out I might give that a miss.
I imagine people would need to see my router setting etc so that probably ends this there?  Unless there is just an obvious place to find the info that I'm missing?

  • Exchange 2003 & Mail not syncing

    All,
In Leopard Mail, I have a .Mac account as well as an Exchange account set up with the Exchange server where I work. The .Mac account works great, does everything I want it to do; the Exchange account, however, simply will NOT sync email & what I do with it with Exchange.
For the Exchange account setup, I have Mail set up to "Move Deleted Messages to the Trash Mailbox" checked, to "Store Deleted Messages on the Server," and to "Permanently Erase Deleted Messages When: Quitting Mail."
So during the day, I'll move some messages to the Exchange folders that Mail did set up correctly, delete messages I don't want anymore, and then I'll hit "Synchronize All Accounts." When that's done, I quit Mail.
About 5 minutes or so later, I'll log in to Windows using Parallels, open up Outlook, and see that the ENTIRE DAY'S MESSAGES are still in the Outlook inbox. They're shown as "read," but none of the messages that I'd moved to other folders in Mail or the ones I deleted in Mail are appropriately placed where they should be (either in their respective folders or in the "Deleted Items" folder in Outlook).
Is anyone else having this problem?
I do have a copy of Entourage 2008 with Exchange support, and that works fine (though it tends to crash 2-3 times per week). The thing is, I don't really like Entourage, am used to Mail, and prefer it to Entourage...and badly wish I could get Mail to work correctly with Exchange (2003).
BTW, our Exchange server does have IMAP turned on, which works great with the iPhone. But Mail just simply won't work with Exchange no matter what I try.
    Any hints/ideas/something obvious I'm overlooking?

We are having problems where I work as well. The problem is that Mail is constantly syncing with the server and takes FOREVER to complete it. I've tried every combination of settings you could do in Mail, and we've had both Mac & PC IT guys in that can't figure out why it takes so long to sync, and why it feels it's necessary to sync when I simply click on my Sent folder, or Trash folder...any little click causes the program to want to sync something. Even my calendar events of which i have zero, take 10 - 15 minutes to sync.
Can anyone suggest a fix to my problem or the original poster's problem?
    Thanks in advance.

  • IMAP/SMTP outg-mail not delevered but same settings in 10.5 Mail no problem

    Hello,
Ik have a rather strange problem:
I have a exchange 2003 server and i have set my iPhone to use IMAP and SMTP (with authentication).
When i use the settings on my iPhone the outgoing mails don't arrive (only when i send emails to @gmail.com addresses they do arrive).
I dont get any error's on my iphone that the smtp password is wrong or the server is down etc.
And on exchange i can see that the mail has been send.
But when i use the excact same settings in my osx 10.5 Mail application all the mails DO arrive.
Can it have something to do with te iphone headers or something like that?
Does any1 have a idea what the **** is wrong? im getting kinda desperate..
    Thanks!!

This indicates the mail was successfully sent by the SMTP server. If a message cannot be sent for whatever the reason, it will remain in the Outbox mailbox usually with an error message provided. A message moved to the account's Sent mailbox indicates the message was successfully sent by the SMTP server.
A successfully sent message does not guarantee the message will be accepted by the recipient's incoming mail server. Usually when a message is not accepted by the recipient's incoming mail server, a return email error message from the server is usually provided - but not always. Not with the high level of spam being circulated by low-life spammers.
Ask a recipient that is not receiving your messages sent by the iPhone's Mail client to check with their email account provider. You should be able to provide the recipient the long message headers for a sent message that was not received by the recipient.

  • Microsoft Exchange Apple Mail not automatic

While use Microsoft Exchange for gmail my Apple Email address mail server will not sync automatic.
If I not choice Microsoft Exchange so my Apple Email Mail Service will sync automatic?
    Am I right?

    Same problem here.
I found a workaround that seemed to work for me:
    - Delete Office 365 Exchange Account
    - Go into ~/Library/Mail and delete the folders associated with your Exchange account, empty trash.
    - Follow these directions to force re-index mail for your other accounts:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14876
    - Quit, restart
    - Add account again
    - Give it enough time to download all emails/attachments
    YMMV, good luck!

  • OSX Mail not recognising Configuration Profile settings

    Hi,
I have a bunch of mail accounts that I created in Profile Manager which have been pushed to my iPhone. I then realised that I could use the same profile to configure Mail on my Mac so everything was nice and consistant. Except it doesn't work. I've installed the profile on my MacBook Pro, and the contents of the profile shows all the Mail accounts, however I was expecting to open Mail and see those account - alas it was not to be.
Is this how it's supposed to work? Should Mail be configured with the accounts showing in the Profile? Or do I need to do somethine more?
    Thanks

    network: Connecting http://oraclesystemsupport.webex.com:80/ with proxy=DIRECT
It seems it can't load the class because it's trying to connect DIRECT and not via my corporate proxy.
My proxy is configured in my system settings as "auto proxy discovery". Everything else honours the proxy setting. Safari has no problem and connects to all internal & external sites without issue.  Even Firefox has no problem, and can launch the webex fine. If I configure a proxy ipaddress in the "Java Preferences" network proxy settings, I can launch the webex. But when set to "use system settings", it doesn't use the proxy.
So I can't figure out why java, when launched through safari, doesn't respect the system proxy setting.
I know it's nothing to do with local caching because I get the same with a fresh user I created especially for testing.
Has Apple broken something?    It was working fine until I applied the latest updates last week.

It seems to be an issue with 'liveconnect' (which I assume is needed by webex).
    liveconnect can be tested here.
          http://www.jdams.org/live-connect-test/
The above test works fine when a proxy isn't involved.  But on the corporate VPN liveconnect get stuck trying to connect DIRECT instead of going via the proxy.
Is this a known bugs?  any ideas?

  • Why is Mail not respecting my choice for hiding addresses?

Twice now I have sent out group emails to from Mail, and specifically checked to make sure that "When sending to a group, show member addresses" is NOT checked. Yet somehow I get replies with every mail address visible. Why is that? It is really a problem in my profession, people don't want their email addresses shown. Do I have to BCC everybody???

That is apparently a bug that still persists. Send a bug report to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback,
In the meantime we'll have to use the BBC field to be absolutely sure that email address privacy is maintained.  Actually it's no different than using the To field with Groups except it's a line lower in the email header.

  • Yahoo mail not respecting Reply-to address set in web interface..

Has anyone else noticed this problem and figured out a workaround?
    G4 Powermac 1 gig   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Well, the push feature is less important to me than
    a
    reliable IMAP server.
Can you share which commercial services provide
    that?
I suppose I could have my company put a server
outside our firewall, but that seems like an
    expensive solution .
More to the point, this seems like a simple
    problem
that Apple and Yahoo could and should solve without
    a
    lot of sweat.
I agree. It would be even sweeter if GMail decide to
offer IMAP support. Their spam filters are TOP
    NOTCH.
My host company (Valueweb) hosts my domain and their
servers provide IMAP support. If you only need
email, I've heard good things about
    http://www.fastmail.fm/
Well, I just want my company to ship all my mail to [email protected] and come out on my iPhone. That works fine.
Then, I want the replies from the iPhone to appear to come from [email protected] That doesn't seem to be too difficult a problem and I'm disappointed that Apple and Yahoo didn't work this out.
As previously mentioned, one can get this to work with Gmail, but POP only, which means that the iPhone downloads every email instead of just headers. Not good.
Thanks for the pointer to fastmail -- I'll look into them.

  • Mail not syncing as read across all devices - started 2 or 3 days ago

Hi all. I have had MM and iCloud for a long time and Mail has worked fine across all my devices. In the last 2 or 3 days it has stopped indicating when an email has been read and in some cases when an emai has been deleted. After looking into it dseeper, it seems to mainly be effecting my desktop Mac which is older (last of the Power PC towers running 10.5.8). I know, it's old, but it works fine for my desktop needs and up until now has not had any email issues. Anyone know of anything that might have triggered this problem?

Ok, ignore this question. A hard reboot fixed it. Too many long nights lately.

    Thanks ooo.
Via qtconfig I can set the GTK theme (as per use GTK settings) and the font.
However, what I cannot change is the used icon set. Although gconftool-2 -g /desktop/gnome/interface/icon_theme is set to Faenza it is not set for Qt apps.
I assume this has to do with me running Openbox and somehow missing a required gconf component being launched.
Is someone successfully running a WM configuration with the correct icon set for Qt apps?
