Exchange Edge Server - 2010 (helpdesk to view queue viewer)

Setup - Exchange Server Edge 2010 running in DMZ
Question: Created a local account for Helpdesk team, allowed RDP permission to them, they unable to view Queue Viewer, getting an error message "couldn't find the enterprise organization container'
What permission do i need to give to local account to view queue viewer, need info on power shell command to use to provide them access.
I am sure RBAC would play a role here, command info, pls assist.
Thanks
Inderjit

Hello Inderjit
Unfortunately we cant use RBAC on EDGE server
On Edge Transport servers, RBAC isn't used to control permissions. The local Administrators group is used to control who can configure
Exchange features on the local server.

  • I need send and receive emails for edge server 2010

i have exchnage 2010 in our orgnization now working fine , i can send and receive emails for hub and also we have tmg and fortigate firewall(200B) , already install and configuration edge server(configure edge subscribtion file and edge sync) but still message
sent form hub and also receive form hub , what to do to receive from edge ? please help me i have 3 month search to fix his problem.

    Hello,
I recommend you use the Test-EdgeSynchronization cmdlet to check if the subscribed Edge Transport servers have a current and accurate synchronization status. If you have configured EdgeSynchronization successfully, please delete send connector
    on Hub transport server.
Please uncheck "anonymous users" on receive connector for Hub server.
Please follow the ExchangeITPro's suggestion to check DNS MX record.

  • Exchange mail server 2010 client OWA URL is not opening in LAN

    Hi everyone,
in my environment  suddenly stopped OWA URL in LAN but it is opening in Local host server , i have checked all services is working fine , i did 2 time restart a server but still the same issues.
my network team also checked all firewall and Gateway he is saying all the port  is open in LAN
DNS is configured locally and working fine regarding name resolution
    my local ip is https://10.61.2.106/OWA
    EXCHANGE server 2010
i am very frustrated with this issue last 4 hours kindly help us.
    Thanks and Regards
    Khalid

    If
    http://10.61.2.106/owa
is working, your HTTPS (i.e.443) port is blocked.
If you can telnet 10.61.2.106 on 443
    your OWA works fine.
Try to restart the server after switching
off firewall and removing antivirus from server.

  • Using PowerShell ISE on Exchange Edge Server

I need manage edge servers from PowerShell ISE to create a script. I tried the steps mentioned on TechNet, but they give an error due to Kerberos not being usable on a workgroup computer.
Any ideas how I can manage to do this without much tinkering?
TechNet Article that doesn't work with Edge server:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335083(v=exchg.150).aspx

    Hi,
According to the description, I notice that you are using workgroup computer.
If you are using workgroup computer, based on my knowledge, it seems impossible to apply Edge settings.
If you have Script requirement, I suggest ask Script Center for help, so that you can get more professional suggestions. For your convenience:

  • Exchange server 2010 SP3 UR7 - poison queue

    Hi all,
I have an issue, witch should have been resolved in previous URs (UR2) but somehow still present in our installation.
we have Exchange 2010 Sp3 UR7 installed, but still transport service crashes when we receive messages with empty FROM and use transport rules.
This as well was present in RU6. Did anyone else seen this issue repeating with RU6 or 7?
We use two transport rules: for disclaimer and one for custom transport agent.
I have modified Disclaimer rule to use "Sent to users that are outside of organization".
Second rule use "To" evaluation not "from". Disabling rules is not currently an option. Does anyone has nay insight or experience?

    Hi,
From the details of event logs, I found there is a Transport Agent named W1MailAgent on the transport server role. Please try to use
Get-Transportagent cmdlet to view the Transport Agent.
If the state of the agent is enabled, please try to use Disable-Transportagent cmdlet to disable the transport agent. Then resume the message which are in poison queue and check the atate of transport service.

  • Project server 2010: job stuck in queue with state Waiting to be Processed (Sleeping)

    Hi,
I have a job in the queue that is stuck. The job type is "TimeSheet Update Resource" and the job state is "Waiting to be processed (Sleeping)". This is happening with only one user. Other users can edit, save, and submit timesheets normally as it appears.
Can't figure out the problem! I tried restarting the queue and timer service with no success. Any suggestions much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    George

Since you already identified issue is user specific, I think now you need to have a look in to ULS log to undestand really whats happening in the background.
Try  editing the user from PWA>>>Server Settings>>Manager users
Click on the user and without making any change click on save, monitor the queue

  • Exchange Server 2010 Edge - Port Change

I am learning Exchange 2010 and have set it up. BUT my ISP blocks port 25 so I thought no problem I have a windows VPS set up I will install an Exchange Edge Server there and then it will work. However it looks like exchange uses port 25 to send the messages
    to the Edge server.
I have used this command to change the ports of the send connectors but my router shows it is still trying to send on port 25. Any ideas?
Set-SendConnector “EdgeSync - Home To Internet” -port 2525
Set-SendConnector “EdgeSync - Inbound to Home” -port 2525
    Get-SendConnector | fl
shows the ports as set to 2525
    Any Ideas?

For home learning I would recommend you approached this from a slightly different angle.
Don’t make any changes to your servers that you would not encounter in a real environment.
Get a POP3 connector (POPCON is cheap) and pull all email from your gmail account using that application.
That application will then dump the messages using SMTP to your Edge or your HT (you choose)
Outbound messages are obviously SMTP and you can configure your servers to authenticate to your ISPs relay and send messages in the normal way.

  • EXCHANGE 2010 - Edge server with forefront FULL OF SPAM

    Hi there.
We have recieved on Exchange 2010 EDGE server a lot of spam 200k messages in queue.
We have stoped inboud SMTP traffic on firewall to stop the attack.
Any suggestion how to empty the queue? I've heard there is a way to rename the "Exchange queue folder" but forget the procedure.
    How to stop the attacker?

    Hi There,
Use the KB below to find the Queue DB, then stop the service listed In the KB, rename the old DB and create a new one with the same name, than start the Service.

    Hi,
We are receiving SCOM Alert as "Mail Submission service is experiencing issue: Messages Queued for Submission-sustained for 15 mins-RED (>25)".
After checking the "Messages queued for Submission" counter on the repective server it was found that the value is 66 but when we check the queue viewer we dont observe any messages stuck in Submission queue.
Would like to know what aspects can be checked here, in order to troubleshoot the issue?
The counter shows 0 value in perfmon for all other mailbox databases.
    Thanks & Regards.

    Hi,
This is a known issue with Exchange Server 2007 and Exchange Server 2010.  We do not recommend that you use this counter for health alerts.
I recommend you refer to the following article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2921142/en-us
It is caused by the MailSubmission service submits a message for delivery multiple times, the counter is incremented two times but decremented only one time. This situation can leave the counter with a positive value even though there
is no message in the queue. When you restart the service, the counter is reset.

In addtion,I recommend you telnet to port 25 to test SMTP communication.
If any question, please feel free to post here.
    Thanks.

  • Exchange Server 2010 Edge Transport Subscription Issue while moving Internal CA Certificate to 3rd Party Certificate

My Client have a Exchange 2010 Organization with Single Domain Single Forest.
They were using Internal CA Certificate and a TLS Cert.
As a POC we are doing a POC for Exchange 2010 Hybrid Office 365 Environment.
For this 3rd Party CA is Mandatory and they have bought a Geo Trust Certificate.
Now when they have installed cert on both HUB as well as EDGE servers, he was prompted to do edge subscription again.
HUB and CAS are combined on the server at both Main and DR Site.
When they try to do edge subscription again they are getting the following error.

I was finding out the solution and got this.
1-Certificate will import on both EDGE and HUB Servers.
2-Edge Sync will use Self-Sign Certificate (but I an unable to find how do I configure this)
3-some communication between Edge and Hub will be encrypted via 3rd party Certificate.
Could anyone suggest, which services on HUB must based in this 3rd party cert.
All the external communication must be encrypted via 3rd party CA and communication between HUB-EDGE will set on self-sign Cert. How do I do this.

    Hi,
Please run Get-ExchangeCertificate | fl to check your Exchange certificate settings. Also confirm if the 5E470560626E313646730C177FCA66728E2BAFF7 certificate is your trusted 3rd party cert.
Please use Enable-ExchangeCertificate cmdlet to assign SMTP service to your self-signed certificate in your Edge server.
