Exchange Infrastructure_need_clarification

Hi All,
I am having 2+ years of Java/J2EE experience.Currently I am learning Netweaver-Exchange Infrastructure.
Will I be able to work on SAP-XI? For this do I need real time experience in ABAP or only theoritical knowledge of ABAP is enough? ( I already have JAVA/J2EE experience)
Please let me know the concepts in JAVA and ABAP that are pre-required to learn XI?

Hi Cris,
First i would like to welcome to the fascinating world of XI. If its just that you wanted to know more about sap xi....then the information below should definitely help you.Here i have explained everything related to XI including the installation part.
The best way to learn XI would be to make the maximum use of XI from its forums, weblogs, presentations, etc in SDN.
First I thought I will just give u the basic steps involved in doing any scenario in XI. This is very essential for a beginner.
First of all you would need to define your product, software component, business system and configure the technical landscape in the sld.
You then go on to create the objects in the repository, you import your software component here and then begin your design steps. To import your RFCs n Idocs if you require any before proceeding.
Then under the name space which you want, you go on to define your data types, message types and message interfaces.
Then you do your message mappings where you specify your source and target message types and the relation between them, then you do your interface mapping. If you are using a BPM, you do the integration process.
Once you have this done, you will have to move to the directory, here is where you define how you use the objects and how you configure them to work as a scenario.
You assign your business system to the configuration scenario which you have created, and create the communication channels. Then you go on to configure the receiver determination, interface determination, and the sender and receiver agreements. Once youre done you will have make sure you activate your objects. The exact parameters steps depend on what kind of scenario you are implementing.
You can use sxmb moni or the runtime workbench to monitor the entire scenario which you have done.

Now lets see the installation of SAP XI,
Follow these steps while installing XI:
1. Windows server or advanced server with latest service patch.
2. IE 6.0 with latest service patch
3. Install Microsoft office and winzip, acrobat
4. Install JDK with version 1.4.2_03 or above with the corresponding JVM
5. Install the SAP GUI 6.20
6. Make sure that you have hard disk space of 10 GB in C drive and 50 GB in the installation drive.
7. Make sure the virtual memory is between 512 and 1594 or above for the installation drive.
8. Copy the dumps of following DVDs into the installation drive.

Additonal Components for SAP BW/SAP XI,SAP MI,SAP KW
SAP Web As Java
9. Start the installation from the DVD dump Installation Master DVD.
10. When installing the ABAP Database the SID of the oracle default database should be different the ABAP database SID.

In simple words regarding learning XI, there is an abundance of information on SDN and help.sap.com. Error while Provisioning a user to Exchange:Configuration OIM 9.1 & JBOSS

Hi,
I am facing the below error while provisioning a user to Exchange. The Resource gets provisioned. But inside the resource, two tasks (Create User & Set Mailbox) are rejected. When i retry these tasks, the Resource status is set to Revoked in the Resource Profile of OIM. The AD Provisioning is working fine. There are 2 AD IT Resources here. Database is Oracle 10g.

Cannot send email from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013

Hello Anyone,
Anyone can help? I've prepare MS Exchange 2013 already, for Migration MS Exchange 2007 and I got the issue.
My issue is I can't send email from Exchange 2007 to Exchagen 2013, but for Exchange 2013 can send email to Exchange 2007,
is my issue only internal email for external email both Exchange server is working fine.

Cannot send email from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 - Coexistence

Existing Exchange 2007 SP3 1 MBX, 2 CAS/HT, 2 ET servers.
I have added an Exchange 2013 server with MBX/CAS role.
Email will flow from Ex2013 server no problem. Mail from Ex2007 systems cannot deliver to Ex2013 boxes, it dies in queue with a 4.4.7 expired message after issuing a delay message.
I can telnet to ports 25, 587,717,465,475, and 2525 from Ex2007 HT role to new Exchange 2013 server. I can send email from Ex2007 HT role server to new Exchange 2013 server using telnet to port 25.
A ‘get-mailbox’ from the Ex2007 HT role server returns the server and database properly on the test users on Exchange 2013 server.
The only strange thing I am seeing is from the Ex2007 systems, a ‘get-exchange server’ command shows the new Ex2013 server as role ‘16439’ which looks to perhaps be normal.
Why is email not flowing to the new users on Exchange 2013?

You should have exchange server authentication ticked in Default Receive connector in Exchange2007.
Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013 in the same subnet/network. if not please check any spam agent running between the networks. Are you running antispam on Exchange2013 ?

IPhone Deletes Exchange Emails To Wrong Folder

Hello all!
I have a Microsoft Exchange mail account setup on my iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1) which works wonderfully, short of one aspect: Emails deleted from my phone do not go to the accounts standard 'Trash' folder, but to a different 'Deleted' folder. I can see no way to change this setting. Any ideas?

Thanks Templeton. This is the only definitive answer I've found anywhere. Turns out my iPhone was correct and my other email clients are sending to the wrong folder!

Re: Iphone 4; I have two email accounts on Exchange: Gmail and a work email.
For the past week my phone will not push the new emails to my phone. I have it where I fetch my emails manually. I'm getting the spinning wheel of death and it says "Checking for mail", but the emails will not show up.
Something seems to be sucking the battery life out of my phone. (Is this related?)
What I have done: Reset the phone; deleted the email account and added it back on. Nothing seems to work.
Everything else on my phone seems to be working fine.

And you can enable the ActiveSync Mailbox Logging and then check if there is any related information.

When I login to Outlook Exchange for office email not all emails display. I use Safari on a home Mac. My PC at work shows all emails in the inbox

This problem started a couple of months ago. I only receive about 25% of my inbox when I login remotely to the webmail exchange account. My inbox on my office PC is fine but the emails do not display in my inbox when I login to the webmail exchange account.
THis happens on other Mac computers, not just my personal computer at home. It's the same thing when I login from my gym

Ah, I should have made that clear. My domain didn't come from google. It was purchased at and is hosted at dreamhost, but I haven't used their email servers in years - I just route everything through gmail. I actually have a bunch of domains (with websites).
Gmail has an option that lets someone with custom domains send (and receive) email through gmail using the custom domain once Google confirms proper ownership of the domain (to prevent spammers and such). Gmail has a setting for "send email as" which allows gmail to be sent using a custom domain as the sender. I'm pretty sure Apple's old mobileme had this feature too, but I didn't use it.

Is there a way of syncing local contacts only when outlook has an exchange account in the profile

I have Outlook 2010 set up with both a Pop3 account and a Microsoft Exchange account in the same profile. I have local contacts and Calendar entries in Outlook. The pop account is set up as the default account. When I sync Calendars and Contacts, then the exchange entries get transferred to the iPhone, even though the iPhone has the exchange account set up on it (and therefore I get the contacts and appointments over the air) but does not sync the local contacts and appointments.
If I split the accounts into two profiles and set the profile with the pop account as the default profile then I get the local contacts, but having to swap between profiles is a pain.
Can anybody help?

You don't need to access your e-mail account, just get into your Apple account and change the e-mail address. If you can't access your Apple account, then you have a bigger issue to contend with.

What is new in Exchange 2013 Mail Recall

As we all know that there are limitation in mail recall in Exchange, is there anything new in Exhange 2013 in mail recall ? It has always been a client-side operation, will it ever be a server-side operation ? Anybody with an idea ?
Message recall is not successful if one or more of the following conditions are true:
•The recipient is not using Outlook.
•The recipient is not logged on to the mail service provider.
•The recipient is using Cached Exchange Mode and is working offline.
•The original message is moved from the Inbox. This can occur when rules are used.
•The original message is opened first and marked as read. This can occur when the message is displayed in the Preview Pane or Reading Pane.

It has always been a client-side operation, will it ever be a server-side operation ?
It is more of an administrative task, but you can still use Search-Mailbox to purge unwanted items from the server. Mail recall it is still an Outlook-side action only, you may find some 3thd party plugin to recall message from OWA.

View colleagues' exchange calendar in iCal?

Hi!
I can see my own Exchange calendar just fine with iCal 4 from the corporate Exchange server. However, colleagues have also shared their Exchange calendars with me - which I can see just fine on Webmail / Exchange 2007, but I would also like to view these shared calendars in iCal.
Any help would be well appreciated!

set color of calendar "Calendar" to choose color default color {0, 0, 0}
end tell
Waiting for an Apple fix, you can use this. It's wok like a charm!
