Exchange iPad3/iPad4 for an extra charge/fee @ an Apple store possible?

I have an iPad3. It's approx. 6 months 'young' and I would like 2 get the iPad4. Is ist possible, for an extra charge/fee of course, to exchange it @ an Apple store? I've heard a rumor that this was possible with previous models. And I don't mean the exchange for people who just ressently bought the 3rd Gen. pad!!!

If it is still under warranty, and they determine it is a manufacturing defect, they will replace it. Be sure to back everything up before taking it into the Apple Store. That way, if you do get a new device, you will be able to set it up from the backup.

Question About Buying a Charger at the Apple Store

My Powerbook's charger is broken (the piece that goes into the port snapped off) and I was wondering if it is possible to purchase a new charger at the Apple Store. I know I can just order one online, but if I buy one at the store, I won't have to wait for them to deliver it. I am currently borrowing my sister's charger, but she needs to use it as well, so I want to have a new one for myself as soon as possible. I also need to know if the Apple Store accepts cash, as I do not have a credit card (my dad has one, but I don't know how soon he would be able to go to the Apple Store as it is a few hours away from our home).

Oh one last thing If you would have ordered it online you would have had it the next day. 2 different times I have ordered online, a charger like your after and an Airport Extreme Base Station and both arrived the next day FED EX.

I have a similar issue...my uncle asked what I wanted as a present and I said a new ipad came out with support for Australian 4G networks and to get that...it's the 'new' ipad. Of course he went into the store and asked for the latest 'new' ipad on 28/10 and they sold him an ipad3 which retailed for the same price as an ipad4.
So when I got it I was advised by the telco that my version was not compatible. I called applecare to ask them if I could swap it being 1 week out from purchase and of course they said go back to the store it was purchased from. No surprises the store doesn't want anything to do with it, they just want to get rid of their old stock.
Now I am stuck with an ipad which I did not want (I specifically did not want the ipad3 because it did not support our local networks' 4G) and Apple have washed their hands of it.
This is terrible policy...at first I was upset Apple or the reseller won't exchange it but really I don't blame the reseller now...my grief is in the stupid Apple naming policy..."oh it's the new ipad with retina display now" .... hang on a second the ipad3 was also the 'new' ipad with retina display (maybe not by name) and was never referred to as the ipad 3rd gen...now they're saying oh it's now the ipad3 you want the ipad with retina display...guess what your stupid naming convention means half the noobs out there don't know what they're buying.
The identical naming convention has caused my uncle to purchase an obsolete product for top dollar...I have an iphone 3g, 4, 4s, touch, etc. well I think it's safe to say android is the future. Is there a maximum-charge repair at Apple store?

I have a USB overcurrent issue on my MBP (A1150). It may be something simpler, but it could well necessitate a new logic board.
Trying to ascertain if I understood the genius correctly several months ago....Apple will repair EVERYTHING for a maximum charge of $330.
Can anybody verify?

eww, greetings: There is one point you make did not seem to apply in my case. The lid had two very noticeable dents (fumble fingers me had dropped a small 2x 4 on it) and the bottom case had numerous areas of warping where it connects to the key board. This I believe was a engineering flaw which was solved by the adoption of the unibody design. MY MBP did not look pretty. The reason for the repair was an issue with the display.
Upon return, the MBP had a new display, new lid, new keyboard, new bottom case, new RAM cover, new optical drive and a new airport card. Total bill: $1240. Total payment: $310 plus tax. Turnaround time was three days. Incidentally the new display had a flaw which was replaced at no charge.
I still have that MBP and I have not dropped anything on it. It works perfectly and still looks like it came out of the box.
This is my experience and I cannot say if it is typical or not. Was it worth it? YOU BET!

These features are most likely result of faulty battery. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple Store for free quick battery diagnostic testing.
