Exchange Messages are Hidden After They Are Read on my IPad 2

I have an IPad 2 that hides Exchange messages after they have been read. How do I prevent messages from being hidden?

There is probably a protective cover on it that got some air under it.
This (check with apple store first you may want to buy a new protective cover) cover should be able to be lifted off, clean the surface glass of the ipad with a lint free cloth, dont touch to much of the sticky side of the protective peice. Once the glass is cleaned put the protective cover back on from one side using a credit card to get air bubbles out as you lay it down.
Pay attention to the location its in now so you can put it back in the same spot. New protective covers are cheap so getting a new one may be a good option for you.
If no protective cover, dampen a lint free cloth with warm water and wipe it off, then dry with a lint free cloth.

I have 2 unread messages in Mail badge area, but all messages are read.

I have two messages that show unread in Mail, but, all my messages are read. I tried to sort by unread messages, but, it doesn't show any unread messages. This is an Exchange mailbox so I tried to rebuild it, but, that didn't work. Any idea why I would have a badge with 2 unread messages. I have also checked all subfolders and they do not have any read messages.

Two accounts. No third-party apps. I see a little red starburst (spiky ball with a white number within) in the Dock. Says 11. But I can't find any unread messages. But I should have mentioned that my "Drafts" folder shows a five. Is this a new thing with Leopard? I don't think Mail used to count Drafts in Tiger. Could those be contributing to the 11? Still can't find the other six...
I'll try rebuilding the mailboxes and see if that helps.

Conky new_mails not updating when local mail messages are read

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I'm new.
I recently installed Arch Linux on my eeePC 1005HA laptop with dwm, conky, and postfix (I followed the wiki to install postfix to send local mail). I'm using xsetroot to replace the "dwm-5.2" text in the upper right corner with conky-provided information about time, CPU usage, etc., and want to use it to see how many unread local mail messages are in my /var/mail/spool/USER spool. Using ${new_mails} seems to be the way to go, but the value reported by ${new_mails} only ever increases when a message is sent to the spool, never decreasing when new messages are read or deleted until conky is restarted. I'm only using the "mail" program to send and receive mail to the local spool for system notifications like "your battery is low, save things now".
I've seen other users use ${new_mails} apparently fine, but googling for this problem shows other people having a similar problem. However, I haven't found any forum, wiki, or article about how to fix this without using messy workarounds, and the conky IRC channel didn't know how to fix this, though they've heard of similar problems with mutt. Any ideas?

Bump! I've tried reinstalling conky and postfix/mail, and not much seems to work. Is conky passé now in favor of something else?

After FF update, can't tell what messages are read or unread.

When I opened my browser last night, Firefox installed an update. Immediately thereafter I went to my yahoo mail account and noticed that all my message looked bolded, like they were unread. I clicked on one to mark it as "read" and it looked no different. My gmail account has the same problem. I checked in Safari and everything looks fine. I will have to switch back to Safari I guess if this isn't fixed. It's very annoying because I get a lot of messages every day and want to know at a glance what is new.

Mail on MacBook Pro (Intel), loses track of which IMAP messages are read

I have this problem using two different IMAP servers (dovecot-imapd and SunONE.) Basically Mail keeps "losing track" of which messages have been read already. Messages I read and/or reply keep getting marked as unread. If I wait around long enough (or quit and restart Mail) ALL of my messages received since migrating to the MacBook Pro will appear unread. This did not happen with my PowerBook G4 – I'm thinking something is wrong with the Intel build of Mail.

Do you have "automatically synchronize changed
mailboxes" selected under the Advanced tab for the
IMAP account preferences?
Oddly enough, one of them had it checked, and the other did not. Both evidenced the same behavior though.
In addition, have you used the rebuild mailboxes
function on the account's Inbox mailbox?
I'll do that now, and see what happens.

Keep Exchange Messages on Server after Mail Downloads Them

First, I'm still not good with computer/Mac language, so I apologize if the following is confusing and for the vocabulary mistakes I'm sure I'm making!
I set up Mail.app to work with my work's Exchange email just a few weeks ago, and everything seems to work fine except for one thing - Mail.app "steals" all of my work messages from the server.
When I'm at work, I use Outlook to manage my work mail. When I'm on my laptop at home, I use Mail.app for my work mail. When I'm not at work or at home, I just log into my work email through a website (which, I think, is the main server where all the work emails are stored). Until I brought Mail.app into the mix, Outlook would download copies of these emails fro the server, but the emails would stay on the server unless I actually logged into the mail website/server and deleted them. At that point, they'd also automatically delete from Outlook. This was perfect, as I could access work email from work and from the website when I wasn't at work.
Once I started using Mail.app at home, I noticed that when I came to work the next morning, all of my emails were gone from Outlook. I logged into the work email website/server, and noticed that all of the messages were also gone from the server. My guess is that when Mail.app downloads messages from the server, it downloads the actual message and doesn't keep one on the server. Then, Outlook automatically syncs with the server, which shows all of the messages as being deleted.
If that made any sense, is there any way to tinker with the Mail.app settings to make it so that it only downloads copies of messages on my work server? I don't want it to remove the message from the server; that way, I can still access my work email from work through Outlook and from other places, through the website/server.

Not putting any messages in the trash (unless I want to delete them) - they're just disappearing from the server and my work Outlook. I deleted the account in Mail and re-added it, and the same thing happened with the messages that came to my work email server in the meantime.
Would it help (or even be possible) to set up the account as a POP or Exchange 2007 account in Mail.app? It seems like when I enter in the email address, Mail sets it up as an "Exchange IMAP" account automatically. If I press the Option button while doing that, I noticed I can then choose to add it as a POP or Exchange 2007 account. I wonder if that would help?

Will Journals saved on iCloud remain after they're deleted on my iPad?

I'm using iPhoto's at the moment and am having great fun with the Journals part of the app. However im not pleased with the image duplication which seems to be going on - but thats another thread!
Anyway, I've synced my first Journal to iCloud and everything works (mostly) fine.
However, my question is - if I delete the photos off my iPad (to save space), what happens to the Journal on iCloud? Will it sync with my iPad and therefore delete everything off there as well?
I presume not but I'm really not sure as there doesn't seem be any 'options' to change what iCloud does.

The idea of journals for me is that I publish them to iCloud for others to see, and leave them online - I dont want them stored permanently on my iPad as then Im restricted in terms of storage space. Id be more than willing to buy more iCloud space to accommodate more journals online, but cannot justify a larger iPad at the moment (and dont believe we should have to).
Once a journal is published to icloud you should be able to remove the local files and continue to add to it, edit it and also edit it from other devices in my opinion.
But at the moment you cannot.
Im going to take this up with Apple, as I want to continue using journals, but would have to start removing other apps to make space if I wanted to continue!
I am glad I found your succinct statement of how one would expect the Journal option of iPhoto for iOS to function. There seems to be a great deal of confusion out there, even among Apple tech. support, as to the two main issues:
1. In order to free space on the iPad, how to remove a completet Journal and its data from the iPad , while keeping it on iCloud?
2. In case you want/need to re-edi/update the Journal, how to get it back onto the iPad to do the editing?
In the months since you published this, have you been able to come closer to a solution?
I learned it the hard way: I thought I could delete a completed Journal on the iPad and it would remain visible on iCloud, but that's not so, it's gone. Thus I am puzzled by your experience below that uninstalling iPhoto will, of course, remove the data from the iPad, but will keep the Journal on the iCloud.
I've continued to use Journals (albeit a lot more hesitantly). I unfortunately didn't get a solution from Apple, other than uninstalling iPhoto which has the side effect of removing the data from the iPad but leaving the data in iCloud (but also has the side effect that the journals left in iCloud can never be editted again).
Fortunately I had saved the Journal to iCloud, and thus even was able to "re-load" this folder into the iPad (at least it shows up on in iTunes > Device > iPad > iPhoto > Data), but iPhoto on the iPad does not seem to recognize the re-imported folder.
If you have any further insights I'd highly appreciate some more pointers/suggestions.

Receiving text mesages hours after they are sent to me

I have started to receive some messages several hours after they have been sent! I have very good service but for example today at 5:10 p.m. I received a text sent to me this morning at 8:00 a.m.

It probably is temporarly not connecting to the network whether it is WiFi or your Carriers network.
You could be in a closed Room or Building and it could do this. Whether it is WiFi or Carrier
Also if you took a trip into the country and returned to the city later u might all of a sudden get all your messages.
because there are not as many cell towers away from the city.

Some incoming messages are not received in outlook

Using Iphone 4.
Most of the time I receive messages from a POP account on the IPhone and on my Outlook2010 client. Once in a while I receive one or more on the IPhone and they never show up in Outlook.
This is DNSExist Squirrel mail server. The messages are not removed from the server account after they are received by the iPhone. Outlook is setup to remove the messages 1 day after they are received and appears to be doing so.
These messages come from different senders.
The Settings.Mail.Account.Advanced.DeleteFromServer setting is set to "Never".
Some of the messages appear to be flagged as received by IPhone in a way that make Outlook treat them like they have already been received.

While I've no experience using Outlook with POP3, I have experience with Outlook 2011 on Mac and 2010 on Windows with Microsoft Exchange. Both OS X and Windows Outlook appear to have a bug whereby they defer display of new messages for a seemingly random amount of time (even if you tell it to "Send/Receive Messages" by clicking on the item in the ribbon or from the menu). The messages are on the server, and, if you monitor the messages in the activity bar at the bottom of the Outlook window, it seems to see the messages and transfer them, but they simply don't show up in the application.
Some messages appear immediately, others don't. We've not been able to determine precisely what differentiates those that do and those that don't. Some messages don't appear in Outlook for hours after they post on the server.
This is widely observed throughout the company, and home users report similar behavior (again, I can't tell if they are using POP3 or not).
We've reported the bug to Microsoft.
Your iPhone is doing the right thing. I know of no current fix or work-around for the bug in Microsoft Outlook.

How to remove a message area

Hello,
I am using the following code to display error message. That works perfectly fine.
The only problem I have is once there is no error message the message area remains
at the top of the window and the the focus is always automatically set to the message area.
Is there a way to remove/reset the message handler?
I tried    lr_message_manager->clear_messages( INCLUDING_PERMANENT_MSG = abap_true )
but this didn't help.

I tried your approach and its not working.
I also tried to do this dynamically in WDDOMODIFYVIEW:

but nothing works
The message area remains showing 'No Messages' and the only way to get rid of it is to click on the show list button and reset the log.
When I do create a test application the message areas works fine but in the whole application it remains. I have no idea what's causing this.
What I do in the application is basically the following.
The business object has its own message handler and in the WDDOMODIFYVIEW of the view containing the message area I read this message handler and if there are messages I do the following:

Rotate Buttons Don't Stay after closing adobe reader

I have several users on Terminal Servers 2008 using adobe reader 9.4. They need to rotate the images in reader, but when they add the rotate buttons to the tool bar, after they close reader and open a new document the buttons no longer stay this feature worked in the adobe 8 versions.

No, my complaint is that the rotate buttons on the toolbar do not stay, I understand that the rotated image is just a view and would need acrobat to make a change like that. I am just talking about the buttons in the toolbar. In the previous versions of adobe reader if you customized the toolbar and added the rotate buttons, then closed and reopened reader the buttons would still be there, now you have to add the buttons manually each time you open adobe. I have my users using the shortcut keys as a workaround for now, but it would be nice to have the buttons stay permanently.

Turns out that unity came back after all this. Maybe it just needed time. I think I answered my own question. Anyways, this post could serve for future reference.
