Exchange only line really ?

I'm in the unfortunate position of living in an FTTC enabled area but live in a house that is apparently fed by an exchange only line. Whilst there is a green fttc cabinet and green PCP at the end of the road there are also some grey BT cabs at the other end. Now I've heard people say BT cabs are only green but these certainly are BT cabs as I've seen Openreach vans parked in front of them with their engineers working on them. There seems to be a pattern where I live, those with a grey cab can't get fttc, those with a green cab can. My questions however are these ?. Why were the green cabs equipped but not the grey and why would it be stated that I'm an exchange only line when I suspect I'm fed from the grey cab and not the green ? Are there any plans to enable the grey cabs ?

I put my address in as I'm with Sky at the moment and for some reason most checkers say I don't have a phone line but clearly I have. It just says I'm connected to exchange Hardingstone and I can get standard ADSL products up to 3.5 meg. No cab info or indication that I'm exchange only but the mods on here claimed I was E/O some time ago. Maybe it's a mistake in the database but I suspect I'm on a grey cab which somehow makes me e/o. I live approx 2 miles from the exchange so it would be pretty inefficient way of doing things. The grey cabs seem to coincide with newer build houses.

  • Fibre upgrade for Exchange only lines (EANAR)

    Who can advise me if there are any plans to upgrade Exchange only lines in my local Norfolk exchange (EANAR) to FTTC as I currently cannot get fibre despite my Exchange having been upgraded in Dec 2014? BT Openreach were near useless in just confirming that my existing landline was exchange only followed by rubbing salt in to the wound by announcing how BT Openreach has managed to get fibre to everyone else in the area (i.e. without an exchange only line)! The local exchange was upgraded as part of BB for Norfolk project.
    Many Thanks.

  • What is a new line, really?

    Continuing my voyage into Java's I/O space...
    Okay, this might sound like a really stupid question, but I'm all new to programming. :)
    But what is a new line, really!? I ask since I've gotten the impression that there is more than one "kind" of new line.
    I've written the code below to count the number of lines in a file. It seems to work but what if a file contains a different "new line flavor?
        int linesInFile() throws IOException
            FileReader fileIn = null;
            Scanner scanner = null;
            int numberOfLines = 0;
            try {
                fileIn = new FileReader("/users/stefan/test/test2.txt");
                BufferedReader bufferedIn = new BufferedReader(fileIn);
                scanner = new Scanner(bufferedIn);
                scanner.useDelimiter("\n");
                while ( scanner.hasNext() )
                    System.out.println(scanner.next());
                    numberOfLines++;
            finally
                if ( fileIn != null )
                    scanner.close();
                    fileIn.close();
            return numberOfLines;
        } By the way. I'm closing the Scanner and the FileReader - but not the BufferedReader. I think it will close when the try statement ends - is that correct?
    Kind regards,
    Stefan

    You're right in that there's more than one type of newline - depending on your system it can be a carriage return followed by a newline character, just a newline character, or some other more uncommon combinations. As it happens, Windows' Notepad is just about the only application that doesn't handle other types of linebreaks correctly.
    You can get the line break on the current system by using System.getProperty("line.separator"), I believe. Using the methods provided by BufferedReader such as "newline()" rather than outputting "\n" characters is usually recommended.

  • Exchange Only to FTTP

    Hi,
    I am looking to find out the technical process from moving from an Exchange Only (EO) connection to FTTP.
    I and 28 other residents live in a cul-de-sac in a small town in North Somerset. All of the houses in our road are connected to the Exchange via EO. Last year the town had the exchange upgraded and new FTTP cabinets installed which enabled every street in the town to accept fibre broadband, except ours.
    It turns out that the nearest new FTTP cabinet is 50 metres away from our road and on the same pavement, with 6+ BT manhole covers between our road and the cabinet. I have included a map to show the proximity.
    We have made serveral attempts to contact BT to find out if they will survey the situation to see if it is possible. Unfortunately they just keep coming back with the usual blurb that we are on an EO line and there is no plans to roll fibre to anything else.
    The map shows just how strange this situation is and that all the houses around the area including the ones passed our road and the industrial estate are fibre enabled.
    We are trying to find out what technically needs to be done to connect us up and are willing to part fund a project. The Exchange is 2.5 km away.
    Any advice or help would be very welcome.

    It is Openreach who are responsible for the upgrade of cabinets not BT ISP.
    See Link http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/faq/
    Do you mean FTTP Fibre to the Premises or FTTC Fibre to the Cabinet because they are two different products.
    If you use this checker it will tell what cabinet you are on and what services it can receive.
    http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
    FTTC is what most people have and it is more readily available than FTTP which is usually a commercial product and is very expensive and is not always available. There is also FoD or Fibre on Demand. This again is not always available and is expensive in comparison to FTTC. See link
    https://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/home/products/pricing/loadProductPriceDetails.do?data=0WyIM7tTGGguc...
    As you are aware, because you are on an Exchange Only (EO) line you are not able to get FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet). In order to get FTTC it would require Openreach to install a cabinet outside the Exchange which would then allow all the EO lines to get fibre.
    This is a very expensive process and while Openreach have done this at some exchanges is not high on their priority list.

    Why can't I update my pymt info?? Is my only option really to wait around 4-5 days, while I am unable to make necessary purchases???

    Without details about the problem, there's not much we can suggest other than to contact iTunes Store Support. The iTunes Store has no phone support, so I don't know what call you think you'd be waiting for. Go here:

    and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

  • How ship only lines will be updated  to bill only lines in OM?

    Hi all,
    How to identify a order with ship only line that is not associated with the bill only line.
    Do a order have lines with different line_types?
    Any information on this will be very useful.
    Please clarify.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Check the fulfillment flow and line flow assignment of that particular transaction type. The line process name attached (inside 'Assign Line Flow' tab) to a transaction type determines its processing flows.

  • Broadband-only line rentals / getting a line recon...

    Hi all,
    I recently moved into a new flat, and I've been having a few problems getting an internet connection (my initial problems were detailed here: http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-Out-About/BT-WiFi-disappeared-yesterday/td-p/646692). I'm a student, and thus very new to the business of sorting out my own telecommunications, so please bear with me:
    1) The flat has a telephone socket in the wall. I've been trying to establish whether this is active but disconnected or dead altogether, but the landlord is all but uncontactable, so I haven't yet received an answer. I'm assuming it's just disconnected, but I still need to know. Obviously, I need to get it reconnected. What would be the best way to go about doing this? BT's help section on what to do when you move home is of no use to me, since I'm not an existing BT customer (and, indeed, wasn't previously renting a line from anyone).
    2) It goes without saying that I don't need a landline phone. BT do do broadband-only line rentals, don't they?
    Many thanks in advance for your help.

    The simple answer to your question is NO BT do not do Broadband only line as Broadband is sold as a Package Phone and Broadband Sorry

  • What is the best MIDI controller for Logic, and is Axiom Pro the only line with "Hyper Control?

    What is the best MIDI keyboard/control surface to use with LOGIC (Studio - which I assume is the latest & greatest version) and is Axiom Pro the only line that has Hyper control? I already own the Axiom Pro 61, but prefer more keys, and though I like much about it, the keys aren't very easy for playing more complex material, and there is an obvious delay regarding attack response (esp. noticeable at faster speeds). There are other issues as well I've read of regarding key sticking (though I consider myself lucky mine do not, there is nontheless a sluggish clunckiness issue which neither helps agility/acuracy nor the delay factor.) and the unit not lasting very long before it breaks and needs repairing. And lastly, I am no fan of Avid and care not to support them in the least.

    Sorry, but is this an iPad question? Axiom Pro 61 is not an iPad-compatible peripheral, so perhaps you mean to post in the Logic forum?

  • Convert Family Plan Line to data only line for iPad

    I currently have 4 lines on verizons old family share plan.  3 are Iphones.  2 of them have unlimited data, 1 with 2GBs a month, and the other line is a basic phone that doesn't get used much and does not have a data plan attached.  I dont want to touch the 2 with unlimited data or the one with 2GB of data.  The 4th line is a basic line and has a contract till Feb 2014.  My bill avg 250.00 with the 4 lines, 2000 min, unlimited text and the data plans that are on it now. All together, we avg about 12 GB a month and durring the summer, it has gone as high as 20GB  Our family uses Pandora, SlingBox apps, and Netflix, quite abit and although we have Internet and WiFi at home, and use WiFi when ever possible, living in a small town, free hotspots are hard to come by.
    I have a Verizon Ipad 3 with LTE that its deactivated due to low use outside a WiFi network but for convenice sake, I might reactivate it.  But to finish out the 4th line (basic phone line) contract, can swap that 4th voice line to the iPad 3 with LTE, finish out the 4th line contract?  I know I would have no problem adding data to the 4th line, getting a 4g sim so i would be looking at 9.99 + 30.00 for 2gbs for a total of 40.00 for that line.
    What I was hoping for was to just get a data only plan on the iPad and not pay a ETF on the 4th line since that line would still be active, just only on a data only plan.  I do understand that tablets only have tiered data plans availble to them.

    As long as the line remains in service during the life of the contract, you can pretty much do whatever you want with it.

    Hi,
    How do you creat your text files? Depending on the programm, there is added characters in the beginning and at the and of the file. So here you will find a VI to creat "raw" text files.
    To debug your VIs, use the probs and breakpoints, so you can solve the problem by your self or give an more accurate description of it.
    There is also the VI that read a integer and two strings  (%d %s %s)

  • Contacts created on iPhone won't sync with exchange, only via USB

    When I create a new contact on my iPhone from within the phone app, it doesn't get synced to my exchange server, in fact it doesn't show up anywhere in the contacts app or under contacts in the phone app. If I create a new contact from the contacts app it only allows me to create it in my exchange contacts folder but it does sync properly. When I create a contact from within the phone app I am not given a choice of group at all and unless I have a recent call from that contact, it is nowhere to be found on my phone or computer. So the question is how do I get new contacts created on my phone from within the phone app to sync with exchange? The only way I have been able to sync contacts created within the phone app thus far has been with iTunes via USB which works fine but I want to sync contacts bidirectionally via exchange ota.
    Thanks for any help

    I have more information to share.
    When you launch the Contacts app on the iPhone, hit the "Groups" button in the top left. What I see on that page are these 3 sections:
    All Contacts >
    From My Mac
    All From My Mac >
    Group A >
    Group B >
    Group C >
    etc
    Foobar (Exchange)
    Foobar Global Address List >
    After many hours of trial and error, I have come to the understanding that the iPhone Contacts app has potentially multiple data stores which seem to correspond to each sync source configured (eg AddressBook, Exchange, etc.) Refering to my example above, I have enabled Contacts syncing with my AddressBook (via iTunes) and an Exchange mail account, so my iPhone shows 2 separate sections with the generic "All Contacts" appearing as the first section at the top.
    Entering the contact listings page via the "All Contacts" button will show an integrated list of contacts from all sync sources (in my case, two: contacts from AddressBook on my Mac and contacts from my Foobar Exchange account).
    If you click the "+" button to add a new contact when you have entered the listing page via "All Contacts", it seems the record is only stored on the iPhone and does NOT get sync'd. Specifically, it does not get synced to the Mac AddressBook nor to the Exchange account.
    However, if you have entered the listings page via any group in the "From My Mac" section or "Foobar (Exchange)" section, and create a new contact via the "+" button there, that contact DOES get sync'd to the appropriate sync source (AddressBook or Exchange in my case).
    Furthermore, if you enter the listings page via a specific group in the "From My Mac" section (eg "Group A") and create a new contact from in there, it will appear in "Group A" in AddressBook after sync. If you enter the listings page via the generic "All From My Mac" button, then the new contact will be added to whatever group you have specified in iTunes (under the iPhone Info tab etc. as mentioned in the prior post).
    All up, I guess, there may not be a bug here after all. I must simply always remember to add new contacts when I am in the "All From My Mac" section, if I want them to be synced to my Mac.
    However, I do think that it's a confusing and poor user experience (and may lead to loss of data) if you add new contacts from the generic "All Contacts" entry point, because they will NOT be synced as you'd expect them to. I am guessing this also might only happen when you have multiple sync sources defined, simply because the app doesn't know which sync source to associate them with: AddressBook or Exchange? But, at the point of adding that new contact, the app should prompt you for the sync source to use, or at least WARN you that your contact is going to be an orphan record solely residing forever more on your iPhone. If you ever reset your iPhone those contact records would be lost forever.

    We are in ECC 6.0

    also they are clubbing PRs of service and material PRs we need it to be separate
    as service PRs and Mtrl PRs are processed separately by different Dept and cannot use the same PR which is here only One at the same time.
    the line items are getting added eventhough the PR is released,
    Pls tell me how the Above problem could be Solved.
    Thanks and Regards

    Thanks a lot Rakesh Pradhan the configuration works,
    let me know is there any Links to the Document type of PRs to the Project system  so as to create Separate PRs for Services.
    is there any Complications by having different PR no for PRs every time. as the system was initially configured in this fashion and now as per the requirement we are bound to change the configuration, to separate SERVICE and Mtrl PRs.

  • Ical can't add events to Exchange only if I change the time zone

    Hi, I recently update my MacBook from Snow Leopard to Lion (10.7.3) and I was using iCal with Exchange in my organization without any problem, but now I cannot add events, I get a message saying that iCal can't add the evento to Exchange, and it gives me 3 options Cancel, Restore or Redo.
    I search in the forums for this message but none has come to a posible solutions, but I found a discution that someone enable the time zone support and specifies a diferent time zone in the event and "voila" it fixes the problem, the events now are added to Exchange; but obviously this turnaround is not good because the meetings you have to mention the difference in the time to get a meeting done.
    Anyone knows how to report this situation to Apple Support?

    Sorry I do not write to give solutions, only to mention I have the same problem. Additionally, I can share that for the same Exchange account server I can register new events from my iPhone and my iPad. In both instances, events are uploaded to the server and appear in my MacBook's iCal.
