Exchange Passcode requirement won't go away after account deleted

I have a personal iphone that i have my business exchange account. We implemented a new policy to have passcodes on phones. I deleted the account off my phone and the policy for passcode is still on the phone. How do I remove this policy? I do know the passcode.

You'll have to restore your phone as a "new" device in itunes and NOT from backup. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone.

  • Updates won't go away after updating

I have three updates on the App Store which have been downloaded and  I have those versions on my computer, but the updates won't go away from the App Store. Aperture 3.1.3 was updated the day it came out, but won't go away. Is there a setting somewhere I am missing? Thanks.

I have a similar problem if someone could please help.  In my AppStore I show Angry Birds needs an update.  I have never purchased Angry Birds nor do I have an illegal copy.  When I click on Update, it tries to have me login with the previous owner of my computer's Apple ID.  (I don't know him).  I have deleted the plist file for the Appstore from my User Preferences Library and that didn't do anything.
This happens whether I am logged in to the app store or not.
Anyone know a way to get rid of this user and this obviously erroneous Update?  I have searched all throughout my computer for any files hidden or not and can't find anything.  Thanks in advance.
Oh, and I tried unplugging my external hard drive as well and that didn't do anything.

  • TS3274 I have a pop up notification that won't go away after I hit OK

My son used my Ipad with the app "Find my iPhone" to find his iTouch.  We have done this many times with both devices only this time when I open my iPad the notification is there stating "Iphone has been found" hit "OK".  I hit OK and the notification doesn't go away, therefore not allowing me to get onto the iPad. I hit is a thousand times.  I tried turning it off, charging the battery - it is still there.  Is there a way to reset the iPad?  Thanks.

Definitely try Grumpy's solutions first.  They're quick and easy.
If they don't help, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Email trouble - can't delete messages and won't go away after download

I hope someone can help me. Since yesterday, I have been receiving multiple copies of messages. Now I think I know the source of the problem, but do not know to fix it.
For background, I download my messages to my computer using Thunderbird. Up until recently, no problems with that - when I download, the messages are deleted from the server.
Well, today, it seems that the messages are not being deleted once I download them. To make matters worse, I am unable to delete the messages in the webmail interface! It gives me an error message "Warning We were unable to perform your request. Please try again." I have treid again, and again, and again, all to no avial. This is becoming a real problem as the messages are building up in the server - I get a lot of email.
Please, can anyone help me? Thanks!

HI... it sounds like the email server is having issues. I would call tech support to have them create a ticket for it to be investigated.

The application by the way is a game called Max Payne 3 which I downloaded from Steam by the way.

Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time.
    Wait.
When Force Quit window appears, select the application if not already.
Press Force Quit button at the bottom of the window.
    Wait.
    Application will quit.
If this does not help, press the power button for 7 or more seconds.
    Computer will shut down.
    Restart.

  • When I touch the email icon there is a draft email stuck on the screen that won't go away if I delete or save it.  I've already tried deleting and resetting the email account which didn't work.  How do I get rid of it?

I have the new iPad 3 and every time I touch the email icon there is a draft message stuck on the screen that won't disappear even if I touch save or delete.  I've tried removing the email account and putting it back on which didn't work either.  How do I get this draft to disappear?

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Or Quit the mail app.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button.
Go back to mail and see if it is fixed.

  • Tried all steps but whitesmoke won't go away even when deleted. OE not conrtaminated so will delete FF. Suggestions?

whitesmoke downloaded without prompt and took control of my Firefox. Tried all the procedures and appeared to have disabled and then deleted it, rebooted and reinstalled FF but it is still there!! It did not affect OE so unless I can get rid of my FF contamination its no more FF for me. Any suggestions to save FF? Tom

Unfortunately Whitesmoke is pretty nasty. Try to Reset firefox [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]], it's usually successful at removing it

  • Email still Forwarding after Account deletion

We let go of an employee over a year ago, at which time I set up a email forwarder in Workgroup Manager. We now have deleted this user account, but email is still being forwarded when email is sent to this user.
Anyone have any idea how I might fix this? Or anyone having the same problem. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Paul
I used the following instructions under OS X 10.4 and it work a treat...
Deleting OS X 10.4.x Server mail users
This documentation is based on a Mac OS X 10.4.x Server install
Before the proper steps can be taken to delete a mail user a onetime change must be made to the imapd.conf file.
Open /etc/imapd.conf via your favorite text editor. (I like using BBedit over SFTP connection).
The first line of the file should contain a list of admins, and you should see cyrusimap in there already. You need to add the shortname of an administrative user on your
server to the end of that list. IMPORTANT: You must also enable mail for this administrative user. I added the admin user that I create whenever I setup an OS X server.
    It should look like this:
admins: cyrusimap, admin (be sure to separate user short names with a comma) **save the changes, and they will take effect immediately
The next set of steps will be used for the actual deletion of the mail user and its mail data, and is dependent upon having direct access to the terminal on the server itself or ssh access from a remote machine. You will use the shortname of the administrative user entered into the imapd.conf wherever you see admin.
    1. In the terminal type:
cd /usr/bin/cyrus/admin/ (do not replace this instance of admin with your administrator short name)
su admin ./cyradm (this may prompt you to enter your password for the admin user)
    2. Now you're in the Cyrus Admin terminal and your prompt should be: cyradm>. Now we need to tell the Cyrus Admin tool which server to administer, so type:
connect localhost (this will definitely ask you for your admin password, it may also ask for an IMAP password, which is the same)
    3. Now your prompt should be: localhost>.
Use the lm command at the prompt to show you the list of user mail folders.
Before you can delete a user's mail folder(s) you must give your admin user permission to access and delete the user's mail. Let's say the user I want to remove has a shortname of testuser, you would type:
sam "Other Users/testuser" admin all (this will give admin permission to testuser's mail folders and sub mail folders)
dm "Other Users/testuser" (this will delete testuser's actual mail folders and sub folders from the filesystem)
exit (this will leave the Cyrus Admin terminal and your normal command prompt will return)
    4. In the Server Admin tool goto Mail -> Maintenance -> Accounts and verify that the deleted user no longer exist in the Accounts list. You may need to press the Refresh button before the account deletion is viewable.
    5. Now you may delete the user from the Workgroup Manager.

  • Recover SENT mail after account deletion?

We changed ISP, created new accounts (successful), then deleted accounts from the old ISP. The "sent" mail disappeared. Is it possible to recover it?

Deleting a mail account causes all your mail stored in that account’s mailboxes to be removed from the computer as well, and you were warned that this would happen by the following alert:
    Remove Account
Are you sure you want to remove the <AccountType> account "<AccountName>"?
This will permanently delete the account setup information, mailboxes, and messages from your computer. Messages stored on the mail server will not be affected. For IMAP-type accounts, this is not a problem because mail is stored on the server. If you deleted a POP account, however, your mail has certainly been wiped out from the computer, not just moved somewhere.
To prevent that from happening, you should have moved your mail to custom “On My Mac” mailboxes instead of leaving it in the account’s mailboxes. Actually, using the account’s Inbox and Sent mailboxes for archiving purposes is a bad idea regardless.
If you don’t have a backup (which you should have made before doing something like that), you may try to salvage as many deleted .emlx files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II or FileSalvage. Of these, the only one I know for sure that can currently recover deleted .emlx files is FileSalvage. Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.

  • Mail connections after account deletion

    Hi all
I'm observing a 'strange' behaviour in my mail application.
Several times ago I had an email account; later on, no more useful, I canceled it from the mail account list.
This happened more or less 2 months ago.
Today, due to the fact mail got some connection problems during new mail check process, I tried to deepen where these problems occured, and I discovered it was due to this old (and canceled) email account.
Can anybody tell me why this happens and how I can definitely cancel this email address from the account list to be checked up by mail ?
    Thanks in advance
    Luca

  • Mysterious e-mail message won't go away ...

There is a e-mail message that continually pops up every time I start up mail and every time I send a message. It's a previous e-mail I sent from one of my accounts to another for backup reasons, but it won't go away. I delete it, and it reappears in my in box later whenever I try to send another message.
Can someone help me escape this loop?

I understand your frustration, but it's not always reasonable to expect Apple to fix problems beyond their control. There are lots of ways to set up mail servers and Apple has no more access to the configurations for the servers you use than you do. Mail works, in my case, with both Exchange 2007 and various iMap servers, so I'm sure your problem isn't ubiquitous.
When you have things that don't work together and they both want to point fingers at each other, the best thing to do is to gather all the information that's pertinent and supply it to both sides. Have you asked the mail system administrators about the details of their system, what software they're running, version, protocols, and ports? Apple can't possibly know those details.

  • My ipad was is displaying an alert message " A wi-fi connection is required to download your apps and media". So it has been connected to the internet over night and this morning but is still displaying the alert message and it won't go away. what to do?

    Hi,
My name is Norbert. I am having some difficulties restoring my icloud back up. My ipad was doing an icloud back up and the alert message displayed on the ipad after my internet was interrupted "A wi-fi connection is required to download your apps and media".
I got the internet working, my ipad is receiving internet network but the alert message is still displayed on the ipad and won't go away, to make matters worse the ipad is frozen and i can't do anything.
Please can anyone with a similar experience tell me what to do in this situation?
    Thank you

  • After IOS 8 update, bookmark bar won't go away

After upgrading to IOS 8 on my iPad 2, in landscape mode in Safari, the bookmarks bar, now combined with links and "Reading List", won't go away. I believe it is supposed to go away when you select one of the functions, such as bookmark, so that the tab turns blue, then hit it again. It doesn't. I can turn it to portrait mode to make it go away, but I'd like to use landscape mode without losing a third of the screen to bookmarks.

Apple knows what's good for you - how dare you criticizing their benevolent parental guidance?
Jokes aside, I'm also a little bit puzzled that there's no option to choose between the "toggle on-off" setting in landscape mode and the fade out one as in portrait In Safari's settings. But there's actually some kind of workaround I'm now using most of the time in landscape mode:
When tapping the URL address bar your bookmarks will also show above the virtual keyboard as they do when Safari doesn't have any websites opened. As soon as one taps into that bookmark window to scroll or directly click a bookmark the keyboard disappears again. It may not be a perfect method, especially when bookmarks aren't organized in folders, because the top level bookmarks are displayed as rather largish icons. But those contained in a folder will actually display as a drop-down list (can be scrolled when having a large number of entries) similar to the normal bookmarks list. Once a bookmark has been clicked everything fades out and you're taken to the selected site. As my bookmarks are almost exclusively in folders such as "News", "Sports", "Tech" etc. I've come to appreciate this kind of bookmark navigation much more than through the standard bookmarks menu with its annoying behavior in landscape mode.
