Exchange policy for 2nd return?

I picked up the MBA 11" yesterday, base model since I've been eyeing it for some time, and the small foot print pulled me in. I've been to the Apple store a few times to compare both the 13 and 11,have  but you don't really get the feel for it until you've actually used it in your environment.  I brought the 11" home and tested it out last night, ran some netflix, web browsing... etc.  What did amaze me was that upon first boot it had 71% battery, and it lasted 7hr + 20min watching netflix and web surfing.  That's insane!  Anyways... I had a huge gripe with the 11", as many do with the screen.  I honestly felt like I wanted to staple the missing portion back onto the top... it kept bugging me how squished it looked.  Maybe this feels normal after a while..??
When I was in the store my heart was after the 11, but my mind told me to get the 13 for practical use. I don't travel at all, my job as a comp tech keeps me in one building so I don't really NEED the portability but it's nice to carry around.  I won't be hooking it up to an external LCD although I could, but I also don't mind using a small laptop's as is.
This being said though, I decided to return the 11" today and grabbed the base model 13" as a relative has one and it seem's really nice.
As most have stated it definately feels bigger, a little more "un-portable" but maybe that's just me... and although the real esate is welcomed, I can't help but feel it's TOO much real estate.  (I'm not a picky person... honestly)
So I'm having a bit of remorse for returning the 11", I feel I should have given it more time because now that I'm on the 13" I think i really liked the 11" more, compared to the 13".  They both have there high points and low points but over all I think the 11" I like better.   Reading some forums, user's say they have gotten use to the 11" after a while and wouldn't look back, so think I made a mistake.
Will Apple let me revert back to the 11"... I hate returning things and wasting time but I will be using this for 2+ years and so I really want to have the device that works best for me. Thanks in advance for any replies.

By original, do you mean the actual original unit I had before? Because that would be ok.
I have no use for the SD reader... never use em.  Battery life, while I'm impressed the 13 has 12hr, getting 7hrs on 71% on the 11" is amazing enough for me.  Ideally I wish the 11" had a 16x10 screen too, but from what I read people get use to it and never look back...
and hopefully the sale's clerk who I've dealt with twice now won't want to strangle me...

  • Return/Exchange Policy Question

    Hello,
I recently bought a PS4 controller from Best Buy (picked it up yesterday), and the R2 button is already starting to become harder to press. Sony suggested that I contat Best Buy because Sony charges shipping to replace the controller. I was wondering what the return/exchange policy was for items that were already opened? Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello flaw600,
I'm disappointed to read that your new PS4 controller had developed a problem. Please know that I regret any inconvenience to you.
Neihn is right: as long as you're within 15 days of the date of purchase (30 days if you're a My Best Buy Elite member or 45 days if you're an Elite Plus member), you may return the controller  to your local Best Buy for exchange. Remember to bring along your original receipt!
I hope this helps. Thank you for writing to us with your question!

  • Best Buy Return Policy for Cell Phones

I bought an LG G Flex on 1 July. I rooted it when I got home. A couple of days later, I found out that I would have to unroot it in order to get the KitKat update, so I returned it to stock condition and tried to get the update. It booted into Jellybean fine, I made sure that the recovery was back to stock, and I made sure that the SU binaries were not present.
I ran the update for KitKat, and my phone ended up shutting off and not turning back on. I had a full battery at the time. I'm not entirely sure what happened during the update process, but it looks like a partition got corrupted. I couldn't tell, because I couldn't turn the phone on. I figured I'd exchange the phone for a new one. I checked online to see if any of the Best Buy stores in my area had any G Flexes left in stock, and they didn't. I had to drive about an hour and a half away to Schaumburg, IL to try to do the exchange. While they were going through the process of trying to fix the phone before exchanging it, I told them that I could have fixed it if I could get it to boot into Download mode or recovery. They then asked me if I had rooted my phone. I told them that I had, but I returned it to stock in order to take the KitKat update. They refused to do the exchange, so I had to drive to the Best Buy in Arlington Heights, IL. At this store, a "multi-channel sales supervisor" named April {removed per forum guidelines} told me that they wouldn't be able to process the exchange because they couldn't turn the phone on. She directed me to call 888-BEST-BUY, which I did. The customer service representative looked at my account and told me that she had no idea why I was told I couldn't exchange my phone. By this time the Arlington Heights Best Buy had closed. I had to drive back out there the next day to get the issue resovled. It took me an hour and a half to get there. I was able to do the exchange at that time, and I saw April at the customer service counter and told her that the CSR I spoke with over the phone had no idea why I was told I couldn't do the exchange. She then told me that she had received an email from the Schaumburg store that I had rooted my phone and to not do the exchange. She then kicked me out of the store.
Firstly, the return policy says this regarding mobile device returns:
If you decide to return a phone or device with a plan, you are responsible for canceling your service contract with the carrier, and for all carrier charges.
There are two ways to return your phone or device and cancel your service:
    • Return your device to a Best Buy store. Be sure to tell the store associate that you want to cancel your service. Carrier service cancellation policies may vary.
    • Call Best Buy Mobile at 1-877-702-2211 (6 a.m. to midnight, CT) for instructions on how to return the device by mail. Let the phone associate know that you want to cancel your service.
There is nothing there about rooted or jailbroken devices. If Best Buy wants to exclude those devices, all it takes is adding one sentence: "Mobile devices with custom or altered firmware are not eligible for return or exchange under this Policy." Because there is nothing in the stated return policy against returning such a device, the Schaumburg store should have accepted the return. At the very least, they should not have notified other stores, seeing as I wasn't trying to get anyone to violate the return policy.
Secondly, I don't appreciate being lied to, and I feel that April lied to me. She was also incredibly rude to me when I asked about why she had directed me to call customer service. If she had told me that Schaumburg had told her that my phone was rooted, I could have dealt with the Schaumburg store and spoken with their manager. Asking me to leave the store for trying to figure out what the hell was going on (and after she had found out that I had already gotten my phone exchanged) was even more rude. I was not looking for a fight. I just wanted answers, and perhaps a little consideration for the fact that I had to waste four hours of my life dealing with this when it should have been dealt with the previous day.
These experiences, along with an ongoing problem with an online order that is not relevant to this topic and which I have explained in a thread that was about a similar problem, are making it incredibly unlikely that I will ever shop at Best Buy again. Not even for things that I have an urgent need for, like replaement charging cables when mine crap out. I can wait two days for Amazon to ship them to me. I am also more likely to tell my friends and family to avoid shopping at Best Buy because of these experiences.
The employees of the Best Buy stores in Schaumburg and Arlington Heights certainly seem like they actually want this:
    into this:
    {removed per forum guidelines}

    Hello again Sloppy_Carlton,
I’m glad to see you are utilizing the forums to reach out to us about multiple experiences, although I am sorry to see that neither of the experiences you posted about left you feeling delighted.
Per our Return & Exchange Promise, we may return or exchange almost everything; however, devices that are damaged would be excluded. It seems the unauthorized modification (rooting and unrooting the phone) may have been the cause of the phone not turning on when attempting to update your operating system to KitKat. We would not be able to accept this device for an exchange or return as it would be considered damage from the unauthorized modification.
That being said, I’m glad to hear you seem to have been provided a one-time solution to this experience. We truly value your insight and the time you have taken to share these insights with us. If you should need any further assistance, please feel welcome to reach out to us.
Thank you for posting on the forum!

  • What is the return policy for macbook pro in china?

I live in SuZhou, Jiangsu in China. What is the return policy for macbook pro in china? It's been 1 month and I got a main board exchange(repair).

You would need to return it to the Apple Online Store where you purchased it and it would have to be within 14 days. They may limit you to exchange only or charge a restocking fee.
Contact the Apple Online Store to make arrangements.

  • No return policy for apps!?

Why is there no return policy for applications that seem misleading such as Microsoft Power Point that I just purchased for 9.99 dollars thinking that it is the real one then it turns out to be just a tutorial ??

All purchases are considered final, but if the app's description didn't make it obvious that it was a tutorial (MS haven't made any app versions of their office programs) then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

What is the return policy for iPad air. I just got this less than a month back. I find I it very hard to use. I hardly used It.

The 14 day return policy is if you bought from Apple. If you bought from another source, it's governed by their return policy.

  • Apple Return Policy for iPAD in Philippines

There is a section here on the site wherein they have a return policy for unsatisfied customer of the device. Well my iPad was given to me as a gift here in the philippines. I dont have the receipt and dont know exactly where the device was bought here. I was thinking where could I find a proper authority for this? All i see here just computers with terms and condition. Is there someone Can i talk to or chat to??
What to do? could i request for a return somehow?

I don't think an Apple Store will do anything for you after two weeks. I would suggest calling Apple Customer Relations, talk it over with them, and see what they will do for you.
    Apple Computer Customer Relations: 512.674.2500
FWIW...I bought a Power Mac B&W G3 once and two weeks later the Power MacG4s came out. That's the breaks with fast-paced technology.

  • 17-inch to 15-inch: what is the exchange policy?

    Hi,
So I recently ordered a MacBook Pro 17-inch laptop (the one released on October 24th) with the following specs:
    PROCESSOR     065-C0CD     2.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
    MEMORY     065-C09M     4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
    HARD DRIVE     065-C0GG     750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
    OPTICAL DRIVE     065-C09X     8x Double-Layer SuperDrive
DISPLAY     065-C09Y     MBP 17" HR Glossy WS Display
    DVI Adapter     065-C0C1     None
    VGA Adapter     065-C0C3     None
    REMOTE     065-C0C5     None
KEYBOARD AND DOCUMENTATION     065-C0DK     Keyboard/Users Guide
    COUNTRY KIT     065-C0DM     Country Kit
I've thought about it, and I would rather exchange this for a 15--inch, which is much more portable but has the same tech specs.
I've called the Apple Store in my area and theyre willing to do an exchange, but I'm not really sure what that entails, and I was too busy this morning to remember to ask.
So would all the tech specs be the same for the 15" MacBook Pro I exchange my 17" for (including the High-Res Display)? What about the extra value of the 17", which costs around $300 more? Can I use that credit towards increasing my RAM, or does that money disappear?
Bonus question: what is a country kit?

Here is Apples return policy: http://store.apple.com/us/open/salespolicies. Also, I would suggest looking elswhere for ram  you can find it much cheaper elsewhere and with a lifetime guarantee: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_133 3MHz_SDRAM
Country kit refers to the keyboard..example qwerty for USA azerty for France etc. Also th plug it comes with, as diffrent countries have different style power outlets.
And no Apple will not keep the difference in price: "For returns to an Apple Retail Store for cash, cash equivalent, and check transactions over $250, Apple will mail a refund check to you within 10 business days."

  • What is the policy for dead pixel or stuck pixel in apple store?

Hi, i'm the new mac user here. I never use the MAC. I just bought it 2 day ago at apple store. I'm so happy when i carry it back to my home. When I turn on my macbook, I think to get 1 DOT bad pixel on my screen......Oh..Is it my fault??? I just bought it and i didn't do anything....I would like to exchange and try to tell the reason that is not my fault..COZ "THIS ITEM IS DEFECT"...I asked the stuff overthere. If i would to return or exchange, I have to pay 10% off restock fee..coz i had already open box. How's come I have to pay it? How can i know is defect or not if i didn't open the box. I just bought it 2 day agos. Is it fair for me?? I'm so upset with apple a lot. I have to take it back and put in front of me and see that dot in the next 3 year.......or as long as this mac gone.
My question, How u can fix it out for this policy? Do u agree for this policy?
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I had to return my first MacBook for a worse defect. They wanted to hit me with the restocking fee. I called the manager of the Apple Store I went to over and spoke with him. I explained the same thing to him that you stated here...Why should I be penalized for something I couldn't have known about with opening the box. I told him that I want to exchange it for a new one and I would not agree to paying the fee for that. However, I will agree to pay the fee to return it and purchase it from another retailer with a better return/exchange policy. He exchanged it on the spot, no fee.
My point...plead your case and explain that you are not going to pay a restocking fee for an exchange. Be professional about it. I'm confident you can make it happen.
You may also want to call Apple first. They can sometimes override the store and direct them to exchange it for you.
MacBook Black - 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

  • Does Apple have a exchange policy?

As a matter of fact, on my 6 plus. I can't even restore it from my previous 16gb iphone 5s. Itunes says that there is not enough space left.
The fact is that the iphone6 plus system takes more capacity than a iphone 5s. I merely have 10 gb space to use on 6 plus.
Just a note for everyone is about to purchase the iphone 6 plus, I really do not recommend the 16gb version. 10 GB is nothing in today's terms of capacity. A few decent songs will take up quite a lot space. Photos can also reach 5mb now.
After all, there is so much frustration when I cant restore my backup. Another question is, I live in the UK, I am wondering if apple have a exchange policy? I really want to exchange for a 64 gb model.
Note. Iphone 6 plus 64GB is always out of stock, while 16GB has a huge stock left all across UK. (Supports my view of 16GB is pointless.)

Hi 70, my son just did the same thing, he called the store (Canary Wharf) who told him within 14 days rather than 28, and now he is waiting for the 64GB to arrive. Thankfully his 5s still does the job (but according to him it's just so old now that the 6 is out )

  • I just bought an iPad 2, can I exchange it for ipad3?

I just bought an iPad 2, can I exchange it for an ipad3? I just got this one 3 weeks ago

If you purchased your iPad from the Apple Store within the last fourteen calendar days, then you can return it. If it was longer ago than that, then no, you cannot do a return. If you purchased from another dealer, that dealer's return policy if any would apply.

  • Exchange phone for different kind

I just bought the Bionic a couple days ago and I'm completely dissatisfied with the phone.  Can i exchange it for a different phone like the Razr?  What is the process of doing this at the store and what time frame do I have to take care of it?  Recieved phone on 11/17/2011.  I heard that this is an extended period to return/exchange a phone due to the holidays, cause I know it was 14 days, but now it has changed.  I realize that i would probably have to pay a restocking fee of $35.00 when returned, but want to know exactly what needs to be done to exchange it for different phone entirely.  Any help will be appreciated.
I had another question about exchange.  If I purchased over the phone on 11/16/2011 and recieved the phone the next day on 11/17/2011 instead of in the store, would I have to send back my bionic first before I could get the Razr as exchange or would they send me the Razr and have me send back the bionic when the Razr arrives, so at least I have a cell phone until then.  Thanks again

you have 14 days to schange the phone
you can only do this ONE time
you will pay the restocking fee and any cost difference
you should be able to do it all in store
this all assume you bought it from verizon and not a 3rd party such as amazon/wirefly/ect

  • Exchange Online Management cmdlets return Display Name instead of Identity

    Hello,
We've got an issue when managing our Exchange Online environment using remote PowerShell.
We use Exchange management cmdlets to manage Exchange Online mailboxes. When we run, for example, the
    Get-MailboxPermission or Get-RecipientPermission
cmdlets, it returns Display Names of the users with mailbox rights. Previously, when we initially tested remote PowerShell with Exchange Online, the cmdlets returned the
Identity property, which is unique and worked well for us. However, currently the cmdlets return the
Display Name, which is not unique and causes us issues. For example, in our environment there can exist two or more users with the same Display Name (see highlighted on the screenshot):
In cases when only one of the users is granted a permission, we cannot distinguish programmatically, which of the 2 users this is. Also, we cannot run cmdlets, such as
Get-SecurityPrincipal, to get more info about the principals who are granted the permission.
Is it possible to get the old behavior of the cmdlets back so that they return the unique
Identity instead of the non-unique Display Name? Or how do we workaround this?

    Hello,
Can anyone update on this? The issue causes us HUGE problems :(

  • An error occured while retrieving policy for this computer 0x80092004

    Good morning!
I have recently been having some issues getting my OSD working correctly.
It all started after the server which houses DPM and SCCM was refusing to start the SQL service because of an invalid certificate that was missing the private key. After I finally removed the key and all the registry value for it in SQL server, I could finally
    fire up SQL server again.
However, since then, I am unable to perform an OSD and I have been troubleshooting this issue for many weeks now.
I have low level knowledge of SCCM 2012 R2, but I did set this box up myself and had all aspects (OSD, Software deployment, driver deployment etc) working perfectly fine in native mode and was just about ready to start deploying images out when SQL
    died.
I am still able to push out the client in native mode perfectly fine, I just can't deploy an OS task sequence.
When I pxe boot the client, it boots fine and then prompts for the admin password, as soon as I enter the admin password, it fails with "An error occured while retrieving policy for this computer 0x80092004".
