Exchange Rate Information Transfer

Hello,
I have been trying to find SAP's recommended method of automating the transfer of exchange rate data (v_tcurr) between different SAP systems.  We do not have BW implemented, so RSIMPCURR does not seem to work.  I've also seen RFALEX00 recommended, but I can't figure out how to get that to work.  We are willing to use ale or batch jobs or anything, really, as long as it happens automatically daily.
Thank you,
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
Please try this out.
Goto RSA1 -> Source system -> select your source system -> right click -> transfer exchnage rate -> program (from menu) execute in background -> Date and time and select the periodic option and save.

  • Webservice to extract exchange rate information

    Hi All
I have found these forum is quit helpful for beginners like me . Many thanks for keeping up to date.
I have a specific requirement to extract the exchange rate information using the webservice  (Pull Model) from a third party website (Say http://www.webservicex.net/WCF/ServiceDetails.aspx?SID=18).
I have had a quick look at some of the response , but all looks like push from SAP source system. Have you ever faced this kind of requirement before ?  As I am new to SAP BI, can you explain in simple terms ?
    Many Thanks in Advance
    Pete

SAP PI stands for Process Integration - it was previously known as SAP XI.
If you have Xi configured - you can use it else it is better to integrate this web service directly.
The mian reason why Xi is preferable here is that it will act as your middleware bringing in data from heterogenmous sources...
If you dev system is isolated - you could try opening it to the internet else you can have the usual method of having another application store the result of this web service in an XML file and then read the same into SAP BW. in many cases if you use a central automation tool - you could tie these events together and fire the thrid party application that returns the web service details and then have the central automation tool run your BW web service read from a file on the app server post that.

  • Hiding "Exchange Rates" from "Create Supplier Preview PDF" report in an RFx

    Hello experts,
I am wondering if there is a way to hide not only the "Exchange Rates" from the "Create Supplier Preview PDF" but other fields as well. (The Create Supplier Preview PDF can be generated by clicking "Actions" in a created RFx, then launching the PDF from the drop down)
I am very familiar with reporting functionality, query writing, query group setup, and document report setup, however, it is unclear to me how these particular PDFs are generated, are they pulling from an existing query in the system? Are they at all modifiable?
Our client is looking to hide Exchange Rate information for suppliers when they create PDF's from the Action button.

    Hi
I am afraid what you are looking for is not a report but a toolbar action. You could find the same in Setup-> System Setup->User Interface-> System Toolbar with external ID eso.system.toolbar.document.rfx.RFXDoc ( under Rfx Document Actions->Tools Dropdown->Print Vendor Preview)
I would suggest creating a custom script to achieve desired result.

  • Transfer exchange rates - source systems

I have BI installed, Netweaver 2004s, and the option "TRANSFER EXCHANGE RATE" for a PC in source systems is not available in the context menu anymore.
Any idea how I could transfer the exchange rates?

I do have this option but in the SAP source, before I used to transfer the exchange rate to my PC source system, and now it's not available anymore.
I still need to to transfer the exchange rate to my PC source system.

  • Exchange Rates Screen Appears when Adding a Product to Stock Transfer

When we add a product to the stock transfer document, the exchange rates screen appears.  Does anyone know why this happens?  The product is purchased in an alternative curremcy (USD) but the cost price recorded in the database is in local currency (GBP).  And the products have been invoiced.
    Thanks

My client only provides an exchange rate when the specifically require it for a transaction.  So no, the exchange rate isn't defined for that day.  But this only happens with a couple of products which were on the GRPO in USD, which is why im thinking that has something to do with it, but the value of the stock is in local currency (GBP), so why does it prompt for exchange rates?
It also doesn't happen when adding these same products to any other marketing document.

  • Transfer Exchange rates - daily execution

    Hi,
when I want to load exchange rates from ECC to BI y Do:
    RSA1
       Source Systems
Right clic, option "Transfer Exchange rates"
how do I schedule it for a daily execution?
    Thanks for the help.
    Mauricio

    Hi,
we already upload exchange rates daily from our ERP system and did in the following way:
    1. Step:
In the view "=> RSA1 => Source Systems => Right clic, option "Transfer Exchange rates""
....create a variant for which FX type and period and type of update you want to load the rates.
    2. Step
Schedule the program RSIMPCURR using the variant created before.
    That's it.
The 2nd step can also be done in the view in RSA1, but we scheduled a series of steps because of many rate types from different systems.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Alexander

  • "transfer exchange rate" scheduling

    Hi all,
Is there any way to schedule the task "transfer exchange rate" from the source system menu of RSA1? I keep getting phonecalls at the beginning of the month asking me to update the exchange rates, it would be nice if I could automate it in a monthly update job or something.
I did a search on this forum, but couldn't find anything related.
    Cheers,
    Eduard

  • Transfer of Freight Conditions to Billing Document - exchange rate issue

I am having an issue with my freight costs copy to customer billing document and the exchange
rate causing the values to change.
Example - SCD freight = 400 USD, but vendor is being invoiced in BRL (807.44).
The freight is passed to customer billing document, which happens to have local document currency of
EUR, but customer being invoiced in USD.  However the freight is going thru some kind of exchange rate conversion, causing my original 400 USD freight
to show as 414.44 USD on the customer invoice.
I am looking for way to keep the freight from changing between SCD + Customer Billing document.
    Regards
    Rita

Can you share your screens from F-60 involving EUR to USD conversion?
Also, try using transaction EWCT to test conversions between currencies,
you can choose your two currencies that give you the issue, and test by
entering the initial value, seeing the converted value.

  • Error in Exchange Rate transfer useing program RFALEX00.

    Hi All,
We are trying to ALE the Exchange rate from one system to another.
We are using program RFALEX00. The Idoc generated in host system is successfull where as in target system it's getting in to Error saying "No maintenance authorization for requested data (SV- 052 Message type)".
I can load the exchange rate manually it will not throw any exception regrding Authorization.
Could you please guide on this.
    Your help is really appreciated
    Regards,
    Ravi Kasnale

Difference between authorizations for your userid and the userid that is processing the ALE (maybe WF-BATCH or something like that) may be the cause.

  • Exchange rate issue

    Hi
I recently transferred a new exchange rate to BW and a created conversion type.
In exchange rate table in BW test system, I see an entry for yen.
When I run a report, I am able to do currency translation from dollar to yen using the new conversion type.
I then transferred the exchange rates to Production and transported the conversion type. Again, in exchange rate table, I see an entry for yen. Everything looks the same as in the test system. But when I run a report, I get the message "No exchange rate from Dollar to yen". Is there any other table I need to look at?
    Thanks
    Aline.

    Hi Aline......
Generally Exchange rates are maintained in r/3 and transfer to bw............rsa1->source system->r/3 source system->right click transfer exchange rate.............U need to schedule this update regularly (daily)...............to do this............Go to menu Program >>Execute in background....................there specify the start time and period values...........Exchange rate table is TCURR................
In R/3.......u can check you exchange rate in the SPRO >> General Settings >> Currencies >> Enter Exchange Rate ........all these information will also available in TCURV table
U can also maintain the exchange rate type in the BW system without getting it from the R/3......I think u r extracting from R/3........

  • Exchange rate type P is replaced with M

    Hi,
We are using CATS for time booking and the process is as follows:
    1) CAT2 -> Hours booked.. Lets assume: 9 HRs
    2) CATS_APPR_LITE - > Time sheet approval -> Approved 9 Hrs
    3) CAT9 -> CATS data transfer to cost object(PM order) -> During this transaction, system does calculate the amount needs to be tranferred based on price maintained in KP26 and hours booked. Lets say KP26 price is $100. That means controlling document will be generated for amount $900.
Note - As per system configuration, exchange rate type will always be P whenever CATS posting will happen and controlling document gets generated. That means, currency conversion will take place based on the exchange rates maintained for type P.
So as per business requirement, we have done an enhancement to the existing CATS process:
Price is manually determined at the time of CAT2 and same will be considered till the controlling document is generated. So, no price determination during CAT9. Therefore the strategy says it is a manual determiination of price and the Exchange rate type is determined as "M" and thats an issue because we do want to pass manual price but we want Exchange rate type as "P" as well.
Is there any way out or settings availabe in SAP or any user exit or an enhancement to achieve this functionality?
    Thanks,
    Aby

    Hi Aby,
I believe these notes contain good information for this case:
1073979 (which I think is already in your system and therefore this behavior).
    and
    691613 (which explains the strategies)
Also, please check the entry you have defined in the transaction OKEV.
There, the system will make the translation depending on the
    exchange rate defined.
    I hope this helps.

    Lucas

  • Currency Exchange rates replication

    Hi all,
We have a requirement where we maintain currency exchange rates in ERP and want CRM to use them rather than creating them afresh in CRM. Are there are middleware customizing objects that can be used to transfer the currency exchange rates between R3 and CRM.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Karthik

    Hi,
Currency exchange rates (in R/3 table TCURR) can be replicated
from R/3 to CRM via customizing object DNL_CUST_BASIS3.
I hope this information is helpful!

  • Invoice Payment Using Current Day's Exchange Rate

    Hello,
The currency of our Mexico company code is peso. Sometimes, they enter invoices with a document currency of US dollar. The invoice will pick up the exchange rate applicable on the posting date of the invoice. So far, so good.
On the day of payment, they would like to change the payment currency of the invoice to peso, and would like the payment program to pick up the exchange rate applicable on the payment date, and post differences accordingly. We cannot get SAP to do this.
Once the payment currency is changed to peso, the payment program simply pays the peso amount in the invoice; it doesn't consider the exchange rate of the payment date.
Does anyone know a way to get the payment program to use the current day's exchange rate, even if the payment is in the local currency of the company code?
I appreciate any assistance. Even if you think this scenario is not possible, that would be valuable information.
    Kind regards,
    James

    Hi James,
I created a Invoice with a Foreign currency and the exchange rate is 1.50. When I goto the Incoming Payment to pay the Invoice the document appears with the foreign currency and the exchange rate as at that date is displayed.
If I change the currency to the Local Currency in the Payment Means, the amount of the Local Currency changes according to the rate defined.
Please check if this is what is happening in your system.

  • "An Exchange Rate Does not Exist" error while creating an item

    Hi..
Pre-requisites: RMS is installed without base data
We are trying to create an item in RMS by filling the required information in "Item Maintenance window" and "Supplier details" screen. After this is done when we select the "Retail by Zone" link and the application prompts an error message : "An Exchange Rate Does not Exist", and all the values in "Retail by zone" screen are not populated. How do we ressolve this?
    Thanks in Advance

Also, make sure that if a currency has a rate entry for example, 01-jul-2010, then make sure that ALL other currencies have a rate entry for 01-jul-2010, even if the rate has not changed for other currencies - a little trick I learned from an Oracle consultant.
