Exchange rate parallel currency

We have defined group currency as USD. The company currency is UYU. The currency exchange rate is updated from USD to UYU -direct quotation method-.
Is it necessary to update the exchange rate from UYU to USD with direct quotation method for the group currency, too ?
thanks,
Cecilia.

Hi Cesilia,
At OB07, see if the INV indicator is checked for the relevant Exchange rate type. If checked, then you dont have to maintain the reverse exchange rates.
Else, you may have to maintain it as per the Standard Quotation rule that you have set at -
SPRO ==> (SAP Netweaver) ==> General Settings ==> Currencies ==> Define Standard Quotation for Exchange Rate

  • Interface/class which can be used for obtaining exchange rates of currency

Is there any interface or class in the java package which can be used for obtaining current exchange rates of currencies ?

Yes. The people at Sun change the static fields every day to reflect the current prices on the world currency markets at GMT 12:00. Then every day all the java programmers around the world reinstall a new JDK that contains the updated class. The class is called:
    EuroDollarDollarEuroDollarYenYenDollarYenEuroEuroYenRubleDollarDollarRuble
To access the Euro-Dollar exchange rate, you write:
    EuroDollarDollarEuroDollarYenYenDollarYenEuroEuroYenRubleDollarDollarRuble.EURODOLLAR

  • Import cycle-exchange rate/local currency

    Dear Gurus,
In Import cycle,we have followed following cycle.
    1)  Created PO.
    2) Released the PO.
    3) Now we have done MIGO.
NB: We have maintained exchange rate USD in the PO.exchange rate in PO is 148(local currency) = 1 USD.
In OB08 we have exchange rate as 130(local currency)=1USD.
In PO we have maintained Clearing Agent and Custom duty payment but when doing  MIRO for clearing agent and Custom duty values are picked from OB08 ie 130(local currency)=1USD.
My Client wants the value in MIRO for  Clearing Agent and Custom duty be picked from PO and also it should be in local currency.
What are setting to be done for the above cycle, please guide me with your valuable inputs.
    Regards

    Hi
During MIRO you can input the value of invoice in Local currency and select the local currency in the field currency. Also if you have maintained individual condition types for the clearing charges and customs duty, then you can attach the vendor code of the clearing agent and customs duty for these condition types. Anyhow, the currency in those vendor codes will be local currency only and hence you can post in local currency.

  • Exchange rate difference in transaction FB05

    Dear experts,
I have a question regarding exchange rate difference in transaction FB05.
Prerequisite:We have implement accounts for the exchange rate difference in OB09.
I try to clear the customer in a billing transfer document in FB05, and I didn't do any manual change about amount during the process.
In the clear document there are three items:
Item PK  Account  Account short text   Tax  Amount(USD)   Amt.in loc.cur.(EUR)
      1   40   111111    cl.acc.b.statem.              33,592.00          24,672.79  EUR
      2   40    222222   bank fees&charges          50.00                1,365.91  EUR
      3   15    333333   customer A                     33,642.00-         26,038.70- EUR
And the correct exchange rate is: Currency USD / EUR
      Exchange rate /1.36150
In this case the exchange rate of “bank fees&charges” is very strange.   And some value of local currency should go to the account for exchange rate gain/loss.
This kind of issue happens occasionally.

Even I have implemented this note in our 4.6C system for account assigned POs, but no luck. Please let me know if are successful.
    Thanks

  • Exchange rate diff at the time of GR

    Hi All,
l have an issue which is, when l fix the exchange rate in my PO, at the point of goods receipt, differences are generated. that is,
at date 01.02.09, exchange rate on PO is fixed.
at date 11.02.09, goods receipt is done and when the accounting document is checked
it post a difference between the fixed PO rate and what's maintained on the exchange rate table
to the forex account. So l get this:
    Dr Stock account
    Dr Price diff account
    Cr GI/IR account
    Cr Forex account
Note: that IV is not yet carried out here at all. Price control is moving average.
My understanding is that differences arise between the time of GR and IV, if PO is not fixed.
    Regards

    Hi
If you fix the exchange rate indicator in purchase order, and doing GR (different exchange rate has been maintianed in OB08), then you inventory will be valuated at PO exchange rate. Difference will go to gain/loss on exchange rate (foreign currency exchange rate account). Same will be negated by price difference account.
You have one more setting for IV exchange rate in MM - LIV - incoming invoice - how exchange rate difference are treated. Here you maintain the settings for GR and IR exchange rate differences.
Checking the exchange rate fix in PO has nothing to do with GR and IR rate differences as through out the process the rate is constant.
    Thanks

  • Exchange Rate at APP is different which is given at F-47 Manually

    Dear Friends,
At the time of PO (ME21N), I have check the box of  "Exchange Rate Fixed" and it works fine and fetches the same exchange rate MIRO Info..(Exchange Rate and Currency is copied from Purchase Order # ).
After creation of PO, I am going to create Down Payment Request at F-47  and gives the exchange rate manually and post the document obviously it takes the same.
The issue is with APP (F110), while i am editing the Proposal, It shows the table EXCHANGE RATE after running the it. The exchange rates fetches from the table.
Note: I had checked the FBZP settings for paying company code

    Hi Mallikarjuna ,
Exchange rate at PO Item level is not possible.
However, can suggest one work around -
Add two <b>condition types</b> (one positive and one negative ) in your " Calculation Schema " with calculation type as 'Percentage'.[ Just like Surcharge and Discount ]
Maintain the % of variance for each Item [ Variance with PO Header exchange rate ], based on what negotiations happen with Vendor.
It may help at some extent.

  • Eff. exchange rate tx FBL1N

The value of the ‘Eff. exchange rate’ of the documents does not appear at the report FBL1N in some cases.
For example, i run the report with a range of vendors and the value of ‘Eff. exchange rate’ appears, then i try to run the report with only one of these vendors and now the value of ‘Eff. exchange rate’ does not appear, the value of this field appears empty, so i can not see the real value when i run the report with only one vendor. The documents that i want to see the value of the ‘Eff.exchange rate’ the second time are the same that in the first time (when i run the report with a range of vendors). Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Cecilia.

In the TS FBL1N appears the real exchange rate (document currency between local currency) and not the one in the field (exchange currency) of the header document.

  • Exchange rate per transaction

    Hi!
Is it possible to change the exchange rate for a particular transaction?
In my business, when the invoice is raised, the payment would come in 30 days later. The exchange rate would have changed by then, therefore, I wish to make the change in the amount coming in. On the day of receiving the payment, the latest rate would be applicable for the invoice that was raised 1 month ago.
How do I go about incorporating this? This is needed as the conversion rate has been varying drastically between INR and USD.
    Prajwal

    Hi Prajwal,
as soon as a journal entry is posted, the exchange rate is no longer adjustable. In your scenario, an invoice using rate X is paid using rate Y. In version 2007 the exchange rate differences posting will take place automatically in partial & full payments, in the lower versions there will only be an automatic posting when payment is in full. For partial payment in 2005 SP01 & lower, the exchange rate differences functionality needs to be executed.
These exchange rate differences are posted to the such defined GL accounts under GL account determination.
There are a few EES available regarding exchange rates & currency issues, please research the PSD calendat archives for the date of 01.01.2005.
If you need to have the same exchange rate/ local currency value in both invoice & payment, the documents need to have the same posting date or the same rate at the posting dates.
    All the best,
    Kerstin

  • Posting of Exchange rate differences in parallel currencies

    Hello experts,,
    We are on ECC 6.
When we enter an incoming invoice with MIRO and the current exchange rate differs from that in the PO, the exchange rate differences in local currency and in parallel currency (group currency) post to different accounts.
Is this a standard feature / behavior? If so, where can i find the settings.
Shouldn't the postings in all currencies (except doc currency), in the event of exchange rate difference post to the same account?
The material ledger is not active.
We have maintained a local currency and a group currency.
Example to illustrate my issue -
    DC = JPY
    LC = SGD
    GC = USD
    PO for asset.
    PO value = 100000 JPY
Ex rate not fixed in the PO.
    Ex rate at PO -
    100 JPY = 1.6 SGD
    100 JPY =  0.85 USD
    Ex Rate at IR
    100 JPY = 1.7 SGD
    100 JPY =  0.9 USD
    When IR is entered,
The exchange rate difference of 100 SGD (@ 0.1 per 100 JPY) is posted to the asset. No posting in USD (though there is a balance of 50 USD).
At clearing (Transaction FB1S - GL account clearing) the exchange rate difference (in GC only, because no balance in LC) of 50 USD (@ 0.05 per 100 JPY) is posted to the Exch. rate difference GL acct.
Thanks in advance for your advice/solution.

    Hello,
    1.  You have to assign Forex GL's for the reconciliation accounts in OB09.
    2.  At the time of payment for incoming invoices, system can read the valuation differences and it will post to Realized Gain/Loss accounts and B/S adjustment account.
    3. You can consider this amount to issue bonus to your customers.

  • Default Exchange rate type at document type level for parallel currencies

    Hi,
I have a scenario wherein 2 parallel currencies have been maintained (Grp & index based) against a Co Code and have maintained a default exchange type (Z2) in the Document type settings (OBA7).
But when I want to post a foreign currency document, system picks Z2 rates for Co Code currency conversion and not for Grp & index based. In fact it picks M rate for these addtional currencies.
I know that for parallel currencies, the system will always use the exchange rate type defined in transaction OB22 ( "M" rate) which is at Co Code level but I want default exchange rate type Z2 to be picked at Document Type level for all the parallel currencies.
Please suggest how to archive this.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Dear Sam,
The exchange rate type defined in the FI document type (-> field
exchange rate type in transaction OBA7) is only used for the currency
translation from transaction/document currency into first local
currency, not for the currency translation into second local (group)
currency or for the currency translation into third local currency.
The exchange rate types for the currency translation into second
local (group) currency and third local currency are defined in
    transaction OB22.
Unfortunately there is no option to change the exchange rate of 2nd or
3rd local currency in our posting transactions. The design doesn't
regard that requirement. But you have the chance to adjust the parallel
currencies in OB22 or to change the amounts manually.
    I hope this helps.

  • Exchange rates with two parallel currencies

    Hi all,
I need to manage a company with two parallel currencies (USD and PKR). To post a document in USD it's necessary to define in TCURR an exchange rate FROM USD to PKR, and to post a document in PKR it's necessary to have an entry FROM PKR to USD.
Obviously the second exchange rate has to be the multiplicative inverse of the first one.
For this reason, to avoid redundant and possibly wrong entries, is it possible to manage only one exchange rate in TCURR (for example FROM USD to PKR) instead of two? How?
    Thanks for your attention

Go to SAP Netweaver> General Settings> Currencies and manipulate the following and you should be able to maintain only one set of exchange rates.
    i) go to Check Exchange Rate Type - and manipulate the exchange rate type you are using (Check Financial Accounting Basic settings>  Ledgers> Define Currencies for Leading Ledger to check the exchange rate type used for each company code - generally M is used) and assign Reference Currency "Ref.crcy" (for example we use USD) for that exchange rate type.
ii) go to Define Stnadrd Quotation for Exchange Rates and maintain - Forexample we use "Blank" to "USD", so that we just have to maintain Other currencies to USD (ref.crcy) and in In-direct Quotation.
These setting would give you the ability to maintain just "Other Currencies" to "USD" in in-direct quotaion. Use this example to decide which currency you want to use as reference currency and then maintain accordingly.
    Hope this helps.
