Exchange Rate Setting

Hello,
In the general setting window at display, the exchange rate setting has been set to indirect, is there a way to reset this to direct ?
SAP 2005A Patch level 50
Kind Regards,

Hi Martin,
Exchange rate setting is one of part of initial setup in SAP, and it's not possible to change it once SAP is running.
I think the only way is to start on new database.

  • Set exchange rate field in billing document

VBRK-CPKUR (set exchange rate tick box). Anyone tell me wht this does? Is it driven from the billing document type? It is defaulted to checked for us and I don't want it to be. How can I change the default?

    hi,
<b>ID:Exchange rate setting (no new rate determ.in bill.doc.)</b>
Indicates whether the foreign currency exchange rate that is applied to the sales document is fixed or whether it can be changed during billing.
    Procedure
The system can propose a value. You can change the value manually in the sales document. If you are allowed to change the exchange rate during billing, the system recalculates prices using the most recent exchange rate.
    pl reward if it helps.

  • Requirement: Exchange rate in Payment program same as in the Invoice docume

    Hello Gurus,
Is there a way to set the exchange rate set by payment program same as in the invoice, i.e. Exchange rate(Payment document posted by Payment program) = Exchange rate of the Invoice document?
*Considering Payment programs is paying off many different invoices all with different exchange rate but their respective clearing payment document number should contain same exchange rate

In my case, my user want to update a different exchange rate in every invoice and not have a rate from any table. So basically, we cannot use this option. I want that the payment document posted by Payment program picks up the same exchange rate as found in the invoice.

  • Exchange rate translation logic for FI and CO

    Dear FI gurus
I have question about exchange rate setting.
    - Controlling area currency: USD
    - Object currency/Company code currency: JPY
    - Transaction currency : JPY
    - Inverted exchange rate indicator : deactivated.
(So, exchange rate is maintained by each country's subsidiary)
In this case, according to SAP's help,
    - Controlling area currency: Converted from Transacton currency(EUR) to Controlling area currency(USD)
    - Object currency: Converted from Controlling area currency(USD) to Transaction currency(JPY)
This means that if transaction currency is JPY100, object currency is NOT JPY100, right?
(Because cross rate reference is deactivated and JPY->USD and USD->JPY is different rate)
On the other hand, in FI(OB22), I setup Group Currency which is USD.
In FI, translation logic can be selected whether "From transaction currency" or "From first local currency".
But still different logic from CO side.
So, it seems GL and Controlling area has different translation logic.
How normally global companies manage it?
    Yoshi

    Dear Yoshi-san,
For a global company, e.g. COMPANY ABC (head office in the USA) has different legal entities in different countries (Japan, Singapore) where the local currencies are different. In my opinion below set up is normal.
    Controlling Area ABC
Assuming all companies (ABC, DEF, GHI) are assigned to controlling area ABC.
Controlling area currency (for controlling area ABC) : USD
    COMPANY ABC (Head office)
             Company code currency : USD
             Object currency : USD
        2. COMPANY DEF (Japan entity)
            Company code currency : JPY
            Object currency : JPY
        3. COMPANY GHI (Singapore entity)
            Company code currency : SGD
            Object currency : SGD
Let say for Japan entity, a document of JPY100 (transaction currency or document currency) has been posted. The amount in company code currency is JPY100; amount in object currency will be JPY100; amount in controlling area currency will be USD0.99. (maintain exchange rate table: 100 JPY = 0.99 USD).
If another document of EUR100 (transaction currency or document currency) has been posted. Then the amount in company code currency is JPY 13,800 (maintain exchange rate table 1 EUR = 138 JPY; amount in object currency will be JPY 13,800; amount in controlling area currency will be USD136. (maintain exchange rate table: 1 EUR = 1.36 USD).
As for the third document of USD100 (transaction currency or document currency) has been posted. Then the amount in company code currency is JPY 10,100 (maintain exchange rate table 1 USD = 101 JPY; amount in object currency will be JPY 10,100; amount in controlling area currency will also be USD100, no translation is required.

  • User Exit / Enhancement Point to set exchange rate using GR date in MIRO

    Dear experts,
I'm trying to set exchange rate not as default but using GR date (When I input the PO number and click enter, the exchange rate should be set). So when system set the exchange rate, it will use the PO date, not GR date.
What user exit / enhancement point / BADI should I use?
I've already tried all user exit and BADI for MIRO but still not succeed. Is there anyone who could help me?
    Thank you very much..
    Regards,
    Shirley

    Hi,
So as to capture Exchange Rate w.r.t PO date, it is suggested to go for Development/Enhancement with required import purchasing doc types in it. While doing GR and before posting the document you need to capture the Exch Rate as per PO date and replace with GR date Exch rate present in it through development.

  • To set the "Pricing Exchange rate type" in the billing document

    Hello SAP Experts,
I have a customer requirement to determine the "pricing exchange rate" as "C Exchange rate determination according
to Billing date" in Billing documents ONLY for specific Sales Org and customer Country and NOT for ALL sales orgs.. This field is present in the Item level copy control setting.
This will ensure Exchange rate will be based on "Billing date" and NOT from date copied from Sales order for that specific Sales org.
Can I write this validation in the Billing document User-exit -RV60AFZC to achieve this functionality? Or there would be some Configuation required?
If anyone has worked upon this kind of requirement or know the method to achieve this, can you please help me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Umesh Karane.

In that case, you can try with  USEREXIT_FILL_VBRK_VBRP.  Alternatively, you can also add this logic to your existing routine assigned in Delivery to Billing copy control against the field "Data VBRK/VBRP".  Similarly, for all such copy controls as you mentioned.

  • How to activate the "Set Exchange Rate" field in billing document header?

    Dear All,
I would like to get the exchange rate at the time of the billing without changing the sales order exchange value.
The set exchange rate field is grayed off.
    Thanks in adavance.
    Regards,

    Hi,
This can be achieved using the copy control setting for billing at the Item level. The field is: PricingExchRate type
and the possible values relevant for you are:
C     Exchange rate determination according to billing date
E     Exchange rate determination according to current date
    Hope this helps!

    Hi David,
You can maintain the permissible percentage of exchange rate deviation in OB64. while posting the document, the exchange rate entered manually should be within the rate mentioned in OB08 +/- the devaition percentage specified in OB64.

  • Correct setting for exchange rates differences

    Hey SAP B1 experts,
I have a problem with automatic generated exchange rates differences in B1.
    Situation:
    - I inserted all correct general ledgers in the g/l account determinations.
    - The seeting in the item masterdata for "set g/l accounts by" is switched to warehouses.
    - In the accounting setting in warehouses I inserted the  p&l general ledger for exchange rates differences.
    - I create a case which includes a exchnage rate difference.
    - For the automatic generated entry the system use the general ledger which is inserted in the setting for "variance account" from the warehouse settings.
Is there any other general setting which is response for the using of the general ledgers for exchange rate differences?
    Help!!
    Regards
    Thomas Bartels

    Hey Shanker,
thank you for your realy quick answer.
In administration -> setup -> inventory -> warehouses I inserted  the correct p&l account for the exchange rate differences in the seeting field "exchange rate differences", but the system don't use this setting. In my test case the system use the account from "variance account".
My questions are on the one hand why and on the other hand is there an other setting for using the correct account setting.

  • Set exchange rate

    hi all
where is the setting for set exchange rate  in billing document at header level

    Hi,
There is no provision to give manual exchange rates at the billing level.  There are few provisions how to determine the exchange rates in Billing at Copy Controls between Delivery to Billing Document Item Level-
    a.  Copy Exchange Rate from Order
    b.  Copy Exchange Rate based on Billing Date
    c.  Copy Exchange Rate based on Pricing Date
    Etc.

  • How to restrict manual change to exchange rate.

    Hello
    Requirement:
Our requirement is we want to control the manual exchange rate entry(user type or otherwise) at different form e.g. AP Invoice screen,AR Invoice,GL JV.
What ever the rate defined pops up,should only be used for transactions and no scope should be given to user to change the rate.
    Process:
Our process is that We have a boundary system and we manually enter the rates daily and upload to Oracle Application by running a program interfaced with the boundary system. The rates fetched from the boundary system sits in daily rate form as spot rate.
The profile option "AR: Default Exchange Rate Type" has value "spot".
Similarly in payable option the rate given as "spot".
    Solution provided by our consultant:
We have Below clarification from the consultant Oracle team on controlling who can enter exchange rates manually vs who can not.
Pls see response for both sub ledger and general ledger transactions. An ability to limit manual exchange rate entry & view is, therefore, available in Oracle.
In Oracle, the transactions are created in subledgers and manual journals are created in General Ledger. The defaulting of exchange rate type is done separately for different subledgers. For General Ledger (creating manual journals) the control is separate.
1)For transactions originating in subledgers , for eg.Accounts Receivable, the name of the profile option is "AR: Default Exchange Rate Type" and looking at your requirement, this should be set at "Corporate" and not "User" or "Spot". Setting it at Corporate, will make the application look at the predefined corporate rates. Similarly for transactions (invoices/payments) in Accounts Payable, the defaulting can be configured through payable options.
2)For manual journals , the defaulting of exchange rate type is controlled separately. This can also be secured by definition access set which will prevent unauthorized changes to rate type.
    Questions:
1.Can we take their suggest given our process that changing the rate to corporate will restrict manual intervention of the user.
2.whether definition access set feature available in 11.5.10.2 and if so how can we configure.
3.What is the best way to restrict user from manual intervention.

    Hello.
For the mentioned forms, you can use Forms Personalization to force users to use a certain type(s) of exchange rate.
