    Hello experts,
I have a question regarding exchange rate type.
There is a custom exhange rate type ZXXX in our system, however, we don't know where this exchange rate type ZXXX is used. Is there any method that we can find where this exchange rate type is used?
    Many thanks.

Exchange Rate Type is created in SPRO:-SAP Net Weaver>General Settings>currency>Check Exchange Rate type.
It is used for maintainace of Exchange Rate in OB08 for direct & indirect quote..

  • Exchange Rate Types Used In What Transactions

    Hi Experts!
I was inquiring on if there is a way to see all exchange rate types ("M" and alternative exchange rate types), with respects to where they are used, posted, and most importantly, what all transactions use them.  The exchange rate types we use are M (system), Z1 (custom), and 0011 (custom).  Even if there is a SAP note, on this, that would be helpful too.  Urgent!  Thank you for your time!
    WC

    Hi Will,
Execute transaction code <b>OB07</b> to see all the exchange rate types within your system.
The following should help you to understand where they are used and which transactions used them.
In <b>planning</b>, exchange rate types are used to specify exchange rates used for different purposes at the same time in the system. Existing entries may not be deleted.
When exchange rate conversions take place between many different currencies, using a reference currency can simplify maintenance of exchange rates. For the exchange rate types concerned, you then only have to specify the exchange rates in relationship to the reference currency for all currencies. The SAP R/3 System then carries out all exchange rate conversions in two steps, using the reference currency.
    As well as a <b>buying rate</b> "<b>G</b>", you can also maintain a <b>selling rate</b> "<b>B</b>".
The buying rate is that under which the average rate "<b>M</b>" is recorded.
When maintaining a buying rate, enter the appropriate currency type for the average rate. This reduces the amount of work required in the conversion table.
The selling rate is that under which the average selling rate is recorded.
The user need only maintain the conversions for the average rate. The conversion occurs by determining the average rate and then adding the difference between the rates to this rate.
If an entry for a currency conversion is missing, the indicator Invert ensures that the reversed currency relationship, should one exist, is available for the conversion.
    <u><b>Standard settings</b></u>
The standard R/3 System includes exchange rate type <b>P</b> (standard translation for cost center accounting).
    <u><b>Note</b></u>
When you create a controlling area, the SAP R/3 System creates version 000 automatically for 5 years. Rate type <b>P</b> is defaulted.
The R/3 System uses rate type <b>M</b> for currency conversion during postings and clearings of documents.
    <u><b>Recommendation</b></u>
Before creating your own exchange rate types, check those offered by SAP and use them if appropriate.
    I hope the above helps.
Do not forget to award the points please.
    Regards,
    Jacob

  • Different exchange rate type for budgetting internal orders

    Hi,
we would like to use a different exchange rate types when budgetting on internal orders depending on the order type.
In our current set-up  the internal order types are linked to a budget profile, in this budget profile we have specified the exchange rate type to use.
Unfortunately this doesn't work (I guess this is only used to translate the total budget)
We do availability control in company code currency and on a yearly base, but each time we approve some budget we want to translate this at the most recent (monthly) exchange rate.
This works if we change the exchange rate type P each month so that it contains the most recent exchange rate on the first of januari.
Unfortunately this P-rate is also used for other things (other budget on other order types and cost center planning) here we want to be able to keep the same exchange rate throughout the whole year.
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanx in advance
    Sven

  • Pricing Exchange Rate Type in Copy Control VTFL

    Hello,
We have Pricing Exchange Rate type in the Copy control from Delivery To billing ( VTFL) at item level.
This Exchange rate type is used for price determination in the billing document. there are several options available for this field.
    A     Copy from sales order
B     Price exchange rate = Accouting rate
C     Exchange rate determination according to billing date
D     Exchange rate determination according to pricing date
E     Exchange rate determination according to current date
F     Exch.rate determination accord.to date of services rendered
Normally the Exchange Rate in the accounting document is determined based on the rate available in the system on the billing date.
now what is the difference between "B" and "C".
I could not find any change in the way it processed when i put B or when i put C .
Does any one know what is the impact on the system if we select B or C.  In what scenarios we use "B" and in what scenarios we use "C"
    Your answers are much appreciated.

    Hi,
what is the difference between "B" and "C".
B Price exchange rate = Accouting rate
This value is used to determine the EXCHANGE RATE based on the Rate maintain in the ACCOUNTING DOCUMENT TYPES in OBA7 Transaction code irrespective of what determined in the ORDER
C Exchange rate determination according to billing date
This value determines the EXCHANGE rate based on the Rates maintained  in the Transaction code OB08 and get the values from  the table TCURR based on the BILLING DOCUMENT DATE.

  • New G/L using an other Exchange Rate Type for Local ledger

In new G/L ledger we want to use for a Local ledger a different Exchange Rate Type then the standard M.  This is for local reporting to the goverment
Is this possible and yes where I can make this setting?

    Hi Paul Annotee
In T.Code: OB22 you can maintain another parallel currency say HARD Currency (40), and make this as identical to your local reporting currency... for this new currency you can maintain a different Exchange Rate Type

  • Use an alternative Exchange Rate Type for activity actual price

    Dear All,
I try to use an alternative Exchange Rate (not M)  in controlling area version "0", I need to use a custom currency exchange rate like in planned price (here I create a new planned version with exchange rate "N").
I find same notes and it seems that standard Sap use only Exchange Rate "M" for actual price but I notice that for example in transaction KB21N (activity allocation) system shows in additional info exchange rate "N" (input in version "0").
Is not possibile to use other Exchange Rate for actual price, activity allocation, for confirmed activity in production order?
Controlling area has currency type 30 (group currency EUR), this company has MXN.
Thanks in advance for your support
    Daria

In KB21N (activity allocation), system uses the exchange rate type you have maintained in controlling area version plan settings (transaction OKEQN). Activity allocation during the month always happen at the planned price maintained in KP26 at the exchange rate specified in plan version. During actual price calculation and revaluation during month end, it calculates actual activity price at (uses M rate to convert to controlling area currency) and revaluates consumption.
I think you cannot use other exchange rate, see the coding in include LKSPIF00 that is used in KSII where currency type is hard coded to M, if this is plan price calculation it's picking tka07-kurst.

  • Using Diffrent Exchange rate Type for Payroll

    Hi All experts,
We wish to use a different exchange rate type for Payroll currency conversion. As we all know that the Payroll driver uses the currency coversion rate M and is hardcoded in the standard Programmes.
Now please suggest me whether it is possible in any means to use different currency conversion rate for Payroll?
Also we have explored the Global payroll, but the same has been not yet released for all customers, can I use it as it provides with the option of choosing exchange rate type on a particular date and have standard excahnge protection IT.
    Awaiting guidance from u all....

    Hi,
No i want system to pick diffrent exchange rate so i want to change exchange rate type for 1st Local Currency.
But that area is greyed out. Is there any system setting where i can maintain diffrent Exchange rate type for 1st Local Currency instead of "M". or is there any other way out that system will pick up diffrent exchange rate.
Problem is that two entities are operating in different market having same local currency but conversion rate for Foreign currency will be diffrent e.g. Local Currency EUR Exchange rate between EUR -USD in France 1.20 and Exchange rate between EUR-USD in Germany 1.25.
Is there any wayout to deal with such situation.
    Please suggest.

  • Using an Exchange Rate Type other than 'M' in a Purchase Order

I use several exchange rate types in SAP for various currency positions, specificially with pricing.
As a result, when I create a Purchase Order I want to use a different Exchange Rate Type, instead of the standard 'M'.  I have seen the rates can be placed directly in the Purchase Order, but I would like the system to look up the required rate using a specific exchange rate type.
Can anyone provide any suggestions or guidance based on prior experiences ?
    thanks
    gino ruggiero

    Dear Gino Ruggiero,
The MM functionality always uses the "M" rate.
Not able to release Purchase doc.

  • Why exchange rate type "EURX" is used ?

    Dear all,
I post with FB65 a document with currency EUR.
The local currency is THB and group currency is CHF.
The document type doesn't have specific exchange rate type ==> by default the type "M" is taken.
But, when I post a document with currency EUR, the system doesn't take the type "M", but the type "EURX".
In this case, I don't want to use "EURX", but I want to use "M".
    How can I do ?
    Thanks for your help
    Best regards

Please check the configuration in OBBS.  You would have specified an alternate exch. rate type (EURX) for exch. rate type M for the currency pair in question.
Please refer to the following notes as well.
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/139553

PS: OB22 would not tell you anything.

  • Mass update exchange rate type (not rate) in open sales orders

    Hi all,
Our requirement is to update the exchange rate type at sales order header (VBAK-KURST) for all open sales orders with a new type created. (Z001). This field does not appear in MASS transaction for sales orders despite being present in the structure MASSSDHEAD.
This field cannot be located even in VA02 transaction (I am not sure if standard SAP masks or shows this field at header; I also can't find any transaction variants assigned).
Can anyone suggest how this field can be updated for sales orders either individually or in mass mode.
    Regards,
    KC
    SAP SD

You are correct in indicating that Exchange rate type field  is not seen in Header data of sales order. I checked screen layouts for various screens for sales order data and this field is not suppressed. The only reason could be that this field is not used in sales order screens
If you are interested, you could also check in the following way
    1.  Go to SE11, enter database table as VBAK
    2. Once inside data dictionary table, click where used list button, select programs and screens and execute
    3. click continue (don't select background)
    4. now you would have list of programs and screens, this table is used
    5.  now start another session and go to transaction SE51
    6. indicate program name as SAPMV45A and screen numbers as listed in step 4. you can check all screen numbers to see whether Exchange rate type field is listed in sales order layout.
    7. Of particular interest would be screen number 4311 as this contains  Financial accounting data & 4303 Billing data
    8. you can check screen layout for screen 4311 & 4303. you would see Exchange rate type field is not indicated.
    9. in case you could find this field in any screen, you could ask your ABAP consultant to add this field in the layout screen.
    Hope this answers your question

  • ME22N change Exchange rate type at price condition level

    Hello,
In ME22N exchange rate type is 'M' by default. When a price condition has currency different than purchase order this 'M' rate is used.
Now I need to change this 'M' rate but for particular price conditions (and exchange rate type can be different for each price condition). Don't ask me why:-) This requirement comes from business consultant and he knows that there is no user exit for this. I need to modify standard. The problem concerns items price conditions.
I'm not asking you for a complete solution, but maybe you can give me a hint where to start? What is the function module which perform price calculation (where exchange rate is used) in ME22N.
I tried to change KOMK-KURST in price condition rule (the procedure which is called to check if price condition has to be calculated or not). It is called for each price condition and I know a name of price condition. But I think the exchange rate type is read at the beginning and stays unchanged even I changed KURST.
I also found function module READ_EXCHANGE_RATE, which has rate type 'M' by default. I could put my modification in place where it is called. But it is not called when I press button Update price. It is only called when I change the currency of condition and press enter. This FM is called in few places in ME22N but not when I'm refreshing prices. Maybe during a refresh it has already an exchange rate? If so, READ_EXCHANGE_RATE could be a solution, but... It is not called when price conditions are created for the very first time (when I create PO item). Maybe system calls different FM?
I also tried to use trace (ST05) to see where systems reads from TCURR, but I think some buffers are used and TCURR is not in trace.
So now I'm stuck hoping for your help.
    Best regards

The problem is that if I set a new exchange rate type, it will be the same for all price conditions. My requirement is to have different exchange rate type for each price condition. The pricing procedure will loop at each price condition, and depending on condition name I need to have different exchange rate type.
    Example:
condition XMER is in EUR and must be converted to USD (factor should be 1,234)
condition XMET is in EUR and must be converted to USD (factor should be 1,567)
Now the factor is the same for all price conditions.
I have found interesting table XKOMV. It contains price conditions and there is a field with factor value. Now I will look for the place where this table is filled with data or for the place where I can modify factor values before XKOMV is used in pricing procedure.
    Best regards
