Exchange Read Receipt on Samsung Android Phones

All:
One of the principals at a company I work for informs me that
she used to have the ability to request a read receipt from her Exchange
account on an Android phone (Galaxy S4), but that the option recently
disappeared.
I’ve looked at her phone but can’t seem to find any such
option to enable a read receipt when sending a message, and my Web research
hasn’t turned up anything useful either.
Does anyone know how one gets Exchange read
receipts on a GS4? Thanks.
Joe
P.S. Just want to add that I know read receipts are pretty
much BS, but when the boss asks for something…well, you know.

  • How to properly eject samsung android phone from mac

    Any pros?
My mac doesn't even recognize the samsung android phone.
I can't use Android File Transfer, it says device not found.
Don't see "unmount" or "mount" in the phone's notification bar.
    Android forum *****.
    Any help?

    Hi n,
If it's not mounted, there should be no need to unmount it. Open Disk Utility and see if it's recognized there, and/or System Profiler.
Also, you're showing 10.6.4. You might want to run Software Update to get up to 10.6.8.

  • Mail shows 3 unread emails but i've read them on my android phone phone and they are marked as read on GMAIL.

Hello, I know that Mail in Mavericks has a lot of problems, but i still haven't read about this one. I returned home and saw 3 unread emails, when opened, i've noticed that i've already read them earlier today using Gmail on my android phone. So i opened Gmail webmail and they were marked there as read as well. Even after checking for new mail manually, they were unread in my Mail.app. I had to open these emails to mark them as read.
Have anyone of you experienced the same behavior?

    Found my solution:
Try this... "you could create a smart mailbox to filter unread emails, go to mail menu, mailbox>create smart mailbox, and choose the unread email rule. then look in the smart mailbox to see which emails show up."

  • Exchange Read Receipts

I think the answer is no, but I wanted to check here anyway. Can you do "Read Receipts" using Apple Mail with an Exchange account. Thanks.
    Rob

I don't think it has changed in SL, but this is the way it was:
There are ways to add the header to a Mail message, but Mail doesn't respond at all to read receipts sent by other servers. If you google for Mail read receipt, you'll find a way to enable the header to send read receipts.

  • How can i use icloud to synch my itunes library with my samsung android phone?

I want to sync my iTunes Library. MP3 files with my Samsung Intercept Android smartphone. Unfortunately, my HP laptop does not recognize my device when connected via USB cable, or when trying to sync via wireless networking applications from the Android Marketplace.  Any solutions or links to best resources would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
My computer system hardware:                   HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC,
                                            Processor:                 Intel Duo-Core CPU T6400 @ 2.00 GHz
                                            Memory/RAM:        4 GB
Operating System:   Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2
                                                                                64 bit
Device to synch:    Samsung Intercept Android Smartphone
also using SansDisk 8 GB micro SD removable media card
Wireless Carrier:    Virgin Mobile USA (running on the Sprint Wireless Network)

So I have iTunes Accounts set up, iCloud enabled and iMatch rolling. Got my library matched (well, vast majority, like many others I do have some songs that have no reason to be 'inelligible' but are not uploading. Don't lecture me on the "rights". I'm a musician with 100s of songs in my library I wrote and recorded. iTunes uploaded about 80% of them. remaining 20% iMatch says are inelligible. BS. its a bug.)
Upon turning on iCloud on my iPhones, I lost the ability to tell iTunes which playlists I want on my iPhone. Instead, I am told to download "songs" from my cloud. Annoying as that's a lot of songs to wade through again. And I have cool smart lists created to auto-sync stuff to taste. Fine.
I go to my playlist and there are no songs at all on myiPhone, even after going to settings (good luck finding that tip!) and enabling viewing "all songs" so I can see the cloud. No songs in playlists. I see all the songs if I go to an artist on the cloud and download it again. Then, back to playlist and just those songs are there!!
There is one playlist that enabled me to "download all" from my phone. Rest don't. Why????
Why can't I dictate playlists via iTunes as before?? When you have over 20,000 songs in your library, playlists are really, really important. It will take hours for me to cherry pick through the cloud to find the songs I want on my phone. The songs I already groomed via the power of iTunes.
Good idea here with iCloud, please help with the usability!!!

  • Lightroom crashes on import with Samsung Android Phone plugged in USB

I went to import some photos taken on a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone into Lightroom 5.5 via USB.  Plugging in the phone with import selected or selecting import with the phone already plugged in crashes Lightroom, every time.  Now, I can copy the pictures to the computer and then presumably import them, but Lightroom shouldn't crash when a smartphone is plugged in...

Funny I should find this post on my first web search - I just updated from v5.4 to v5.5 only 10 minutes ago and *BLAMMO*  . . . Lightroom crashes as soon as I hit the Import button when my Samsung Galaxy S III is attached via USB.  This is on Windows 7 64-bit.
Lightroom v5.4 has been happily importing files from the same phone all along, so something has regressed in v5.5, it seems.  Importing from a USB storage device should be relatively straightforward.
EDIT: I uninstalled v5.5 and reinstalled v5.4 - it imports without problems using the same scenario that crashed v5.5 above.
Little help, Adobe?  Please?  I'm willing to send logs, test various scenarios, etc.

  • Can't log into sony e reader app on my android phone

I just got a new phone because the screen on my last one cracked, same model and everything. I didnt have this issue with my last one, but on this one when I downloaded the sony e reader app and tried to log into it, it asked me to log into my Adobe ID account because it uses Adobe DRM technology for content rights protection. It keeps telling me my username or password is incorrect. I reset my password and am able to log in on chrome but still no luck with the sony e reader app. Am I doing something wrong?

Is this Sony ereader app running on the phone?
Try the Bluefire app instead, or maybe Aldiko.
Some apps have issues with registration, Bluefire generally seems pretty reliable.
    Also, some apps or the Adobe DRM server have issues where there are special characters in the password;
if necessary change to a simpler password (yes; against all the rules of good passwords, but that's the Adobe DRM infrastructure for you)
When you say and am able to log in on chrome do you mean you are able to log on to the Adobe website on Chrome?

  • E-mail read receipts - how to make them optional

    Hi,
Is it possible to turn off "read-receipt" by default, or else to be asked, prior to such receipt being sent, for an activesync based e-mail account?
When using the e-mail account from my (work) laptop, Exchange read receipts are 'off', always. When reading any mail 'first' on the Q10 though, then any read receipt requested by the sender is sent, automatically.
I cannot find any (obvious) setting on the handset to toggle read receipts on/off.
(I imagine this is BB10, rather than handset specific?)
    Thanks.

  • Exchange 2013 public folders are sending read receipts for items viewed in public folders

We have Exchange 2013 with public folders.  These public folders are used for a large amount of shared contacts.  When a user goes into the public folders and double clicks on a contact to view it, Exchange dispatches a read receipt to all users
that are configured as publishing editors to notify them that a certain contact was read.  How do I disable this option?

    hi again dear.. :)
"At first, I would like to say the
read Receipt is not sent out by the device, it is sent out by the Exchange server. This is how it works and what happens:
    1.
    E-mail with request for send
    receipt is received on the Exchange server;
    2.
E-mail is synchronized with Windows Mobile based device using Exchange
    ActiveSync;
    3.
    When e-mail is
    read on Windows Mobile based device the read status is synchronized back to the Exchange server;
    4.
The Exchange server creates and sends out the
    Read Receipt when receiving the Read status update from the device;
The above is how this is implemented and there is no functionality which allows preventing this from occurring on the Mobile device.
It seems that there is an alternative method to disable RR using transport rules. However, it will at the risk of the filtering out other messages
    with the same subject.
Towards the third party mobile clients that support RR and DR, you might consider using Flexmail 4.11. It’s impossible to deactivate ActiveSync
    RRs in Exchange server 2007/2010."
    also
One way to stop read receipts being triggered through client side configuration on the mobile is to use the option "Don't Mark Read on server".
I have tested this successfully using this option in the TouchDown mail client on Android.
Not sure if the standard or other mail clients do support this option, TouchDown certainly does and it works.
The side effect obviously is, that the read status isn't synced back to Exchange anymore:"
hope now i r clear... one way or the other... you need to send a feed back or define a transport rule... but that again may create problem with the same subject :)

  • Adobe Reader for Android - Links are now invisible on Android Phone!

After the latest update to Adobe Reader for Android - Links are now invisible on Android Phone!

    Hi,
You are correct, with the latest update, we have modified the links appearance.
This decision was based on a feedback from the users.
We changed the appearance as users were reporting that the 'blue rectangles' that used to indicate links, were interfering with their document viewing experience. Also, since those rectangles are actually not how the author made the file, we wanted to make the file look exactly as the author had desired.
    Thanks,

  • Never ending story: Exchange and Outlook 2010/2013 - Read receipts (reading confirmation) implementation is buggy

OK, I try it again (for the fifth time or so), maybe anywhere in the big microsoft world there is ONE support engineer that is able to recognize a bug and hand it over to the development????
In several cases the read receipt does not contain the sending time of the original message, instead it contains (quite senseless) the time when the receipt itself has been sent.
The only information in the read receipt is the subject of the original mail which may be identical in longer mailthreads to several (dozends of) mails. So in this implementation you are not able to find out to which message a read receipt really relates.
So we cannot prove at all if a single mail in a thread has been read or not. The printout of such a receipt does not have any information that can be used in a meeting or discussion.
Since this situation obviously lasts for several years I'd like to ask
how I can get a working read-receipt-functionality for professional eMail-handling???
It seems that the problem does not lie in the content of the MDN sent by the Exchange server.
If I look into a copy of such a sent MDN with Thunderbird, it tells me for example, that my mail, sent on 15th Juli 2013 14:43:47 (UTC+1) has been read  on 15th Juli 2013 14:50:08, which is correct.
But in combination with Outlook I get the same MDN displayed like follows:
Your message at... subject... sent Monday, 15. Juli 2013 14:51:30 (UTC+01:00)... has been read on Monday, 15. Juli 2013 14:51:16 (UTC+01:00) (Text translated from German to English)
So Outlook exchanges the timestamps and falsifies the content of the MDN.
This does only appear in combination with an Exchange server. If I work with a POP3 account and Outlook and send a message to an Exchange 2010 mailbox the correct timestamps are displayed within the returned MDN-message.
All involved systems are set to German (DE-de), the timezone on all systems is UTC+1
Here a small table with my tests
I've used Outlook on all Clients, 2010 and 2013.
Sender: sends initial mail and gets the Reading Confirmation
Receiver: gets the initial mail and sends the MDN
Sender     |     Receiver     |     MDN Display
    POP3        |     Exchange   |     correct
Exchange |     Exchange   |     fail (displays wrong "sent"-time)
    POP3        |     POP3         |     correct
    Exchange |     POP3         |     fail (displays wrong "sent"-time)
It is obvious this cannot be a "feature". This is different behaviour depending on the senders Account type and one of this two scenarios must be a bug.
Could you help me further on this, please?

Almost no - the MS-Support here in this website was completely overchallenged to even understand this issue. I've tried several times to address this in this forum with no success. The "supporters" here had only one target - to quickly get this
    "complicated" case off their desks.
The Office 365 support was much more competent and able to understand the problem. They escalated this to the development team (which lasted about 3 months, dozends of telephone calls and about 20 hours working time, which I had to donate to Microsoft freely)
and located the Problem in Exchange Server.
The result was that they promised to fix it in Exchange Server 2013, but there will be no Bugfix in Exchange 2010. I am waiting for the fulfilment of this promise since over 6 months.
Microsoft seems not to have any problem to leave their (professional and very expensive) Exchange software in a buggy state.
My conclusion: If Exchange 2010 runs out of maintenance I'll switch to Linux and Zarafa Server. The Zarafa guys are able to understand and fix their bugs and I do not have to donate thousands of Euros in working time only to get them understanding their
    own bugs.
PS: You need only to press F1 in Office, especially in Access in the German language variant and you get an impressing lesson how desolate Microsoft is working today. Pressing F1 in Access 97 or XP lets you know, how much better they were some years ago.
An impressive deep fall down to the ground.
