Exchange: receives email but not cal events?

I set up an Exchange email account on my iPhone. It receives email fine (when logged into my corporate VPN) but does not receive Outlook calendar events. Can anyone else confirm this behavior? Is there a fix?
It seems strange that the iPhone Mail client would selectively filter out the meeting notices. The Mail app on OS X receives the Outlook meeting notices fine (with basically the same Mail account setup).

Thanks, Jose. But I am not "syncing" my iPhone calendar. I am simply downloading emails from the Exchange server (I guess I'm technically syncing emails to the server). And as far as I understand, the Outlook meeting notices are simply emails with attachments. This is why I don't understand why the meeting notices aren't showing up.
I don't expect these Outlook meetings to show up in the iPhone calendar (unless I sync with a host computer). But I do want the iPhone Mail client to show me the emails that contain these calendar events.

After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?

My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite.

I'm in Lion 10.7, and can receive emails, but not send.

Check in Mail Prefs>Accounts - check that the outgoing server is correct.

  • Zimbra Server - can receive email but not send

I need to connect to a Zimbra Server for secure email - I can receive email but not connect. I get a connection refused error for sending email.
    I am using a G4 mac, Mac Mail, OS X 10.4.11, AT&T dsl service.
Can anyone tell me what settings need to be changed to make the connection for outgoing email?
    Thanks!
    John

I don't have a Zimbra server to try to connect to, but I see directions for setting up Zimbra for Mac's Mail elsewhere, like near the bottom of this page...

I see this one uses Port 465, which is different than the last one I checked.

  • Why can I receive emails but not send them?

I have an iPhone 4, and I recently updated to iOS 7. Since the. I have not been able to send any emails. I am able to receive them, but not send them. I keep getting an error message saying that something is wrong with my password or username. I have tried to hard restart the phone, revert to a backup from before I updated the phone, and also deleted all emails and redid them, all with the same result. What should I do, and if it's a consistent problem with the new system, when is Apple going to fix it?

Yes, I have tried everything the sites have said besides taking it in to the Genius Bar. I tried hard restarting it, making sure my internet connection worked, moving off and on other networks, used an old backup to when I had iOS 6, deleting al my email accounts and adding them back, none of it has worked.

    Hello Carol.
Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at [http://www.getfirefox.com getfirefox.com].
As for your issue, you need to provide more information. Firefox is not an email client. You may be having a problem with the email client you use, or with the site you are using to handle emails...

  • I can receive email but not send emails

Hi, i have swapped my isp to BT , ever since this i can receive emails but am unable to send , BT have to me this is a apple email app setting that may
need changing any help ou there please .
    Many thanks

    Hello,
Who is your eMail provider, the part after the @ sign?
In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.
    The receiving email ports are:
    IMAP is port 143
    IMAP-SSL is port 993
    POP is port 110
    POP-SSL is port 995
    Outgoing ports are...
SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.

  • I am visiting Germany from U.S. I can receive email but not send it

HI I am visiting Germany from U.S. I can receive emails on my eyepad but cannot send! Any suggestions?

Try to not use the mail app but rather use your service's webmail interface. For example, my mail is through yahoo. If I have issues with the mail app I can use safari and go to yahoo.com and access my mail that way.

  • Using aol mail and receiving emails but not able to send.

After successfully using itouch very frustrated with new ipad2. Receiving emails fine but still trying to send emails. Not very computer lit but husband is!

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works.
This may be of some help as well.

Obviously make sure that all of the information has been entered correctly including your username and passwords and that you are using upper and lower case letters as you should be using in your password since it is case sensitive.

  • HT1694 I receive emails but not the attachments on iPhone or iPad into my hotmail account .

Why do I receive emails without attachments into my hotmail account on my iPad and iPhone ?

    Hi,
I had previously tried that, but only deleting the SQLlit databases.
This time I tried to delete the whole iTunes_Control folder as suggested, hard reset.
It resynched with iCloud and now I had neither artists names or album names.
As an added bonus iTunes no longer recognised the device and wanted to set it up as a new phone - good job I had backed up the folder so I could re-insert the iTunes information to sort that little issue out.
I've cancelled my auto renew on Match subscription. If I don't fix it by early December then I'll save my money and forget the idea of using it until next year.

  • Why can I receive email but not send

Can receive email to Mail program but can't send. The Doctor says my internet connection is open.
    Any ideas?

If it says that it can't send the message or that it had some sort of problem sending the message add a letter or word or take off a letter or word.
Make sure that firewall isn't blocking anthing.

  • IPhone and iPad receive email but not iMac

This is an intermittent problem – sometimes the iMac receives mail and sometimes not, but they always show up on the iPhone and iPad.  And this problem has occurred without any changesbeing made in Settings.
I'm using Hotmail/Outlook, but I have a friend who is using Gmail and she has the same problem.  At first I thought it might have to do with using up the 5 GB storage Hotmail/Outlook allows, so I started deleteing messages from the Inbox, but that hasn't made a difference.  Plus, Hotmail/Outlook says that as we approach the 5 GB capacity a message will be sent alerting us to delete messages to make more room for new ones.

A very easy way to tell if you have an IMAP email account .....
If you go to your email account in the Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and see if Add Mailbox appears at the bottom. If it does you have an IMAP email account.
Your email provider would have to offer IMAP in order for you to set up an account this way. Some email providers offer both options.
If you want to know the basics, you can read this. There is tons of information available on the Internet that you can read about this.

  • HT4528 I cannot SEND email from my iPhone 5S. I can receive emails, but not send them

I cannot SEND emails from my iPhone 5S

    It says
    "Unable to send email
A copy has been placed in your Outbox.
    No Password provided
Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter a Password"
The problem is, I do NOT have a password for my outgoing server.

  • Seems like alot of people are having the same issues with being able to receive email but not send emails.  Like others, I have tried re-booting, switching off, deleting account, reinstalling account but to still no avail! Does anyone else have any ideas?

Hi there - I have rebooted and turned off ipad and deleted my yahoo account and reloaded it but I still cant send messages, any other suggestions? Thanks.

    Me too,
I can logon to Yahoo directly  with my wife's iPad. I can then send an email to my iMac. What I cannot do is send an email directly from her iPad to me - so I consider the problem is with iOS 7.0.3. All i get is a long 'sending' session that ends with "incorrect username or Password", but that cannot be right. I have deleted and re-created the account on the iPad - cleared Safari's history and cookies. Nothing changes. It seems to be very widespread this problem and as yet nothing coming from Yahoo or Apple. This is similar to the Windows' users experiences. Pity.
