Exchange remote setup

I have setup a new exchange server within our office and I would like to set up remote OWA also. I've been gettign conflicting information on how to do this. Internally I can access remote.mydomain.com without a problem. but externally it's not working,
I get our companies website instead.
I assume I need to set up a dns record pointing to the exchange sever. We are a remote office and get our internet wirelessly from our ips.
i.e.
Internet --> wireless antenna ( ex ip 31.31.31.31/internal ip 192.168.1.1) --> internal router (ip 192.168.0.1) --> exchange server (ip 192.168.0.10)
So if I'm setting up DNS records do the point at the  antenna ex ip? and do I need to set up any addition port forwarding on the antenna & router?

Your external firewall (at the wireless antenna) needs to have a distinct rule for your external OWA.  If you have the same name for your OWA server that your external web page has, this can't happen.  You need a totally unique name for your
external OWA.  In your case, your external website appears to be mapped to remote.mydomain.com, so you need a different name, such as mail.mydomain.com.  It is also possible that your external firewall is passing all traffic on port 443 and 80 (all
HTML traffic) to your external web page.  If this is the case, you need to reconfigure the firewall so it is proxying web pages, not just port traffic.  If your external firewall can't be configured this way, you need to replace it with one that
can.

    I have existing Exchange accounts setup on my iPhone and iPad to access my work email.  I'm trying to do the same on my new iMac and can't get it to work.  I have it setup the same as my iPad and it asks me for my password over and over...any suggestions?

    Hi mwatts18,
    As a preliminary troubleshooting step, you should reference the information in the following article:

    I would especially suggest that you delete the account and re-add it, making sure that you are entering the correct password when you add the account. Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!

    hi Cynthna7575
    Thank you for your question.
    By your state,I think you want to install EMC on windows 7.
    If that,you can refer to the following steps;
    1.Check that you have installed the necessary operating system components
    a.     Open Control Panel, and then select Programs.
    b.     Click Turn Windows features on or off.
    c.     Select Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1.
    d.     Navigate to Internet Information Services > Web Management Tools >IIS 6 Management Compatibility.
    e.     Select the check box for IIS 6 Management Console, and then click OK.
    2.Ensure that you un-tick the box during the setup wizard to automatically install roles and features required for Exchange
    3.If there will be issue, you can try to install Exchange management tool in other Windows 7 X64 machine to see whether it is OK
    If any questions,please let me know.

  • Exchange server setup on Mail stopped working recently

    Hello,
    I have an Exchange mail account, that's setup using a POP account type. This was working up till just two days ago. Now, every time I try to access my Exchange email account on Mail I get this error:
    "The attempt to read data from the server "xxxx.xxxx.com" failed."
    I've tried deleting the account and recreating it...I get the same error. A few notes:
    1. When I recreate the account, the setup process seems to be able to connect to the server (trying incorrect login credentials results in an error, correct credentials do not return an error). As soon as the account is created, I get the above error.
    2. I have this Exchange account setup in Entourage and on my iPhone and it works in both of these places.
    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
    Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
    Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
    Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
    If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...

    Thanks for replying.
    My domain is actually routable (I just renamed it thinking that perhaps its more secure to withhold the info).
    I had previously installed Es2013 and had to delete the VM. So this is a re-install on the Active Directory. I'm wondering if there isn't something in the "deleted folder" that is causing hassles.

  • WSE2012R2 O365 SSO & Exchange Hybrid Setup

    Hi,
    Does WSE2012R2 support SSO with Office 365 and a Exchange Hybrid Setup?
    TAntony

    Hi TAntony,
    Please refer to the following
    section in this
    article.
    Windows Azure Active Directory
    Windows Azure Active Directory is a service that provides identity and access capabilities for on-premises
    and cloud applications. Integrating Windows Azure Active Directory with Essentials enables SMBs to have single sign-on and password synchronization between the local Active Directory and cloud services such as Office 365.
    Based on your description, did you mean that just enable Office 365 Integration? If enable Office 365 Integration,
    it is neither DirSync nor ADFS. When use Office 365 with Lync and SharePoint, you will not get the AD FS Single Sign On experience. However, password synchronization was occurred. It helps that your on-premise password and Office 365 password are in alignment.
    There is a similar thread that you can refer to.
    Single Sign On and 2012 Essentials (yes,
    sorry another SSO question)
    The configuration, either on-premise Exchange or Office 365, was supported. Using both email services at the
    same time (a hybrid messaging environment) is not supported. For Email options, please refer to the following article.
    Email
    Options Supported by Windows Server 2012 Essentials
    If anything I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
    Based on my research, we can try to firstly check the otherWellKnownObjects attribute in order to resolve the issue:
    1.) Go to Start -> Run -Type LDP.exe -> click OK
    2.) Click Connection -> Connect and then click OK
    3.) Click Connection -> Bind and then click OK
    4.) Click View -> Tree and for the BaseDN select CN=Configuration,DC=DomainName,DC=local and click OK
    5.) In the left-pane expand the Configuration partition -> Services -> Microsoft Exchange
    6.) Right-click the object Microsoft Exchange and then click Modify
    7.) In the Attribute box type otherWellKnownObjects
    8.) In the Values box type B:32:9C5B963F67F14A4B936CB8EFB19C4784:CN=ExchangeLegacyInterop\0ADEL:90d1a283-ed42-4ddf-8402- f0dbef0290b2,CN=Deleted Objects,DC=CAO,DC=local (The invalid DN reference you
    want to delete)
    9.) Select the Delete radio button
    10.) Click the Enter button
    11.) The Entry List text box will populate with [Delete] and the selected attribute and its value in steps 7 & 8.
    12.) Click on the Run button

  • Exchange 2013 setup

    Greetings
    Currently i am using Exchange 2007 setup (xyz.com) and it is not published to the internet i.e. only the Domain joined users have access to it and mx records are not hosted for xyz.com
    And have hosted solution (abc.com)
    Now, I am planning to upgrade the Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 infra. But here my requirement is to use abc.com as the email address domain.
    My plan is to migrate and add abc.com in accepted domain. Please suggest if this can be achieved by doing so and if yes, what other changes i need to plan as i want to have the same email address domain (abc.com) having the virtual directories by the same
    name (mail.abc.com)
    Please provide yours inputs.
    Thanks
    K2

    Hi,
    Thank you for your question.
    By my understanding, you want to use Exchange 2013 with domain abc.com to replace domain xyz, right? If I misunderstand, please be free to let me know.
    If that, we could refer to the following links to migrate Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 by crossing domains:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/35828bef-3eaa-4540-b2ef-0dc1da0d77ca/cross-forest-migration-from-exchange-2007-to-exchange-2013?forum=exchangesvrgeneral

    But we suggest you install Exchange 2010 in abc.com domain, then we perform cross domain migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010, then migrate to Exchange 2013.
    If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

  • Powershell generic session and import this session in Exchange remote management session c#

    The situation :
    I am trying to make an application (c#-asp.net) to manipulate user's on an exchange server. The application will be on a different server than the exchange's one. So, to manipulate the data, I am using an "Exchange remote management session" created
    with c#. Exchange remote management session give access to simple powershell command like "New-Mailbox" and "Set-User" - This is good for simple task, but in my case, I have to do more complexe operations that will need some specific command
    that is not included in the default command. To access this command, I have to use some specific module like "ActiveDirectory". It is simple ? Only use "Import-Module" ! Not really, like I said, the "Exchange remote management session"
    is very limited with the command, and "Import-Module" is not allowed...
    So what we can do ?
    I read a lot about my problem, and the most "simple" (That I understand the theory) solution is something like :
    Start with a generic PS session, import the AD module, then connect to an Exchange management session and do an Import-PSSession and use implicit remoting for the
    Exchange management stuff.
    Given that I am pretty new to manipulate the Powershell with c#, I have no idea how to use this awesome solution in my code. So I am asking your help.
    Here's my current code :
    // Prepare the credentials.
    string runasUsername = @"MarioKart 8";
    string runasPassword = "MarioKart";
    SecureString ssRunasPassword = new SecureString();
    foreach (char x in runasPassword)
    ssRunasPassword.AppendChar(x);
    PSCredential credentials =
    new PSCredential(runasUsername, ssRunasPassword);
    // Prepare the connection
    var connInfo = new WSManConnectionInfo(
    new Uri("MarioKart8Server"),
    "http://schemas.microsoft.com/powershell/Microsoft.Exchange",
    credentials);
    connInfo.AuthenticationMechanism =
    AuthenticationMechanism.Basic;
    connInfo.SkipCACheck = true;
    connInfo.SkipCNCheck = true;
    // Create the runspace where the command will be executed
    var runspace = RunspaceFactory.CreateRunspace(connInfo);
    // create the PowerShell command
    var command = new Command("New-Mailbox");
    // Add the command to the runspace's pipeline
    runspace.Open();
    var pipeline = runspace.CreatePipeline();
    pipeline.Commands.Add(command);
    // Execute the command
    var results = pipeline.Invoke();
    if (results.Count > 0)
    System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("SUCCESS");
    else
    System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("FAIL");
    This code work great for simple task (like "New-Mailbox") ! But how can I create a "generic PS session" and then use this session in the "Exchange remote management session" ?

    Hi Vincent,
    Generally we can use the cmdlet "import-module" to import the AD module on DC (Domain Controller), and we can also create a exchange remote powershell session with the cmdlet new-pssession, for more detailed information to create exchange remote session,
    please refer to this article:
    Managing Exchange 2010 with Remote PowerShell
    In addition, to invoke powershell cmdlet in C#, please also try to save all the cmdlets to a powershell script (.ps1 file), then we can add the powershell script to C# like:
    Pipeline pipeline = runspace.CreatePipeline();
    pipeline.Commands.AddScript(scriptText);
    If I have any misunderstanding, please let me know.
    Best Regards,
    Anna Wang

  • Exchange Server Setup

    Dear All
    i have setup my new Exchange for Testing
    Email Domain: mail.abc.com.ab
    Server FQDN: mail.abc.com.ab
    i have installed AD, DNS, DC role on Server
    my domain name is abc.com.ab
    the problem is when i check my email domain for MX record in dnsstuff.com it show the below result
    (No MX records exist within the zone. This is legal, but if you want to receive E-mail on this domain, you should have MX record(s). The program
    can't continue in a case like this, so we are assuming you don't receive mail on this domain)
    (No nameservers provided
    an SOA record for the zone. You should configure your nameservers to have a master slave relationship. The update of the zone information to the slave nameservers should be handled through the SOA record)
    i don`t know where im mistaking
    Thanks

    No nameservers provided an SOA record for the zone. You should configure your nameservers to have a master slave relationship. The update of the
    zone information to the slave nameservers should be handled through the SOA record
    Go to DNS Server --> Double Click your SOA Record --> Go to Name Server TAB --> Add your DNS servers in Name Server TAB
    No MX records exist within the zone. This is legal, but if you want to receive E-mail on this domain, you should have MX record(s). The program
    can't continue in a case like this, so we are assuming you don't receive mail on this domain
    Create a MX record in your DNS Server that points to your Exchange server.
    Right Click in your DNS Server --> New Mail Exchanger (MX) and provide required information.
    Kindly mark this as answer if your requirement is fulfill. Thanks.

    Hi,
    As Ed suggested, please check the permission.
    Also try to disable firewall for testing.

  • Which exchange 2013 setup file should I use ?

    I am seeing exchange 2013 RTM setup file for download from microsoft, as well as exchange 2013 CU3 setup file. This is my first exchange 2013 box. which file should I use to install exchange ?
    Anand_N

    Hi,
    For new installs you should usethe most current build, CU3: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=41175
    Cumulative Update builds are full Exchange server installers so there is no need to install RTM version and then apply CU.
