Exchange revealing all address in Mac Address Book Groups

I have 3 accounts set up in Mail:
MS Exchange for work
Gmail
Me.com
I have Groups set up in Address Book, containing work contacts with addresses outside of my work Domain.
When sending and email to these Groups from the Exchange Account, the Group Name (only) shows when Composing, but after sending ALL addresses in the Group appear on the To: line in my Sent Folder, and I have confirmed that the recipients see all addresses as well.
If I send the same email from either the Gmail or Me.com account, the Group Name only appears when Composing and in each Sent folder and the recipients cannot see any addresses.
When emailing a Group that resides on the server, not on my Mac, but which is accessed through Address Book and comprises ONLY people within my work Domain, the addresses are hidden in ALL instances.
Does anyone know why Mail / Exchange handles Groups on a Mac differently now, and if there is a fix? I don't recall this occurring prior to the last Update.

Remove the old address from the previous recipients list under 'Window' on the Mail menubar.

  • Obtain IP address from Mac address

    Hi all,
Is ARD capable of obtaining IP addresses from mac addresses?
    Please advise.

ARD's System Overview can display IP addresses and MAC addresses for computers it manages. If you're asking whether ARD can scan a network for a particular MAC address and return the IP address for a computer that's not in ARD's list of managed computers, then no, it can't (at least not by any method I know of). ARD is really not a network scanning/management application; it's for managing Mac workstations.

  • Ipad contacts not displaying all fields from mac address book, ipad contacts not displaying all fields from mac address book

After syncing mac address book to ipad contacts, the ipad does not display all the fields that were in Mac address book (in my case all the email addresses).  Anyone have a fix?

I have a problem similar to DeeRun's.. I would like the IM fields to be synced.. I use them to send e-mails to when the e-mail field is empty or when i just want to use that specific address.. Very annoying, would take hours if not days to transfer all those IM adresses to e-mail fields in addressbook..
EDIT: not to mention the mess it would make in my address book!

  • Notes syncing problem with @me address vs @mac address

Notes stopped syncing (on my mavericks macbook). I turned it off and on again in prefs. When it restarted it used my username@me address instead of my username@mac address. It was previously using my @mac address, which is my Mac ID. I cannot figure out how to get the @me out of there.

I also have this problem.  A couple of days ago, the Notes App on my Macbook Pro (OSX Mavericks) stopped syncing to my icloud. My iphone and ipad don't have this problem.  I have done all the suggested actions (ie. unticking "notes" then ticking again; signing out of my icloud account then signing back in, etc), it then removed my icloud address on the Notes App and replaced it with [email protected]; but still no syncing.  It just keeps showing "UPDATING" on the status bar.  I can look at my icloud notes on the browser or my iphone but its just inconvenient.
    Any other suggestions?

  • WRT610N: Cannot enter MAC address in MAC address filter list

My WRT610N cannot accept a very specific MAC address in any position of the MAC address filter list.  It is a valid address and it was working fine in the filter list of my WRT54G but the 610N will just not take that specific address!  What is this all about?

I recommend to replace the WEP only device instead of taking the risk of a hacked network.
And just forget about the wireless mac address filter. Anyone, who wants to crack your WEP network will collect enough accepted MAC addresses during the cracking process. It's just not worth the trouble to set up the filter and keep the list current...
Thanks for the diligent follow-up gv but I can't replace the WEP-only device for now.  (I need to go through a conversion process for that device to accept WAP and that will take a fair amount of time)  I understand your point about getting accepted MAC addresses but, at least, it requires a bit more effort... Maybe I will return the WRT610 and stick with my old WRT54 until the 610 gets fixed...

  • Can sites know about my computers physical address or mac address when I use firefox 4

I want to know that does firefox expose my computers mac address or physical address to any site if that tries??

You have quite a few outdated plugins installed which potentially exposes your system to exploits.
So the first thing to do is to visit the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update where necessary.
That IP address belongs to Comcast. Does that ring any bells?

  • Ip address from mac address

    Hi,
I need to retrieve the ip address of a network element knowing its mac/physical address. I didn't found any standard class in the sun packages that allows me to do that. Does anybody have an idea ? I'd rather not use any command line tricks.
    Any idea is welcome, thanx

The MAC address belongs to a network layer that is not directly accessible to Java. Java builds on the higher level protocols as TCP and UDP, which are additionally not specific to the network implementation. Another alternative to command line tricks is to wrap native code through the JNI cleanly into Java classes. However, sacrificing platform independence.

  • Sync all fields from Mac Address Book to iPhone Contacts

You would think that all the fields entered in Address Book would sync to iPhone Contacts. I have fields for "spouse", "assistant" and some custom fields like "skype", "blackberry", etc, which do not get transferred over to iPhone.
I migrated from Entourage/Palm to "all Mac apps" to resolve this problem and now have fewer fields available than before!
I want ALL fields sync'ed over to my iP3G!
Anyone have a fix for this?

I have a problem similar to DeeRun's.. I would like the IM fields to be synced.. I use them to send e-mails to when the e-mail field is empty or when i just want to use that specific address.. • Contacing my address book that I have a new email address, my mac address

Can someone help? I just discontinued my comcast service and will use my mac.com as my main email address. Is there a way I can contact my address book globally?
    Thanks,
    Ron

Start a new message. Select all the contacts and drag them to the BCC field of the new message. Put your email address in the To field. Add a subject and some text and click Send.
If you have more than 200 contacts it would be better to send them in groups of less than 200, and not do more than one group a day.

  • The sender address (my .mac address) was rejected by the server

i cannot send mail. i get the error message "the sender address was rejected by the server". this is the third time this has happened and usually it is a port 25 issue. is 587 now being rejected as well?

I think I may have the answer to this issue, at least in my circumstances. In my case, I had my Netgear firewall email me a log of activity anytime certain activity occured. I received over 160 emails in 2 hours.
I found a similar issue in another forum which explains that .Mac has certain restrictions on how many emails can be sent and received in a 24 hour period. If one exceeds that quota, their account will be unable to send email for a 24 period. Here is a quote form the other forum topic:
"There is a restriction on the number of messages one can send in a 24-hour period, and on the number of recipients for a single message. These restrictions are described here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25301
If you exceed the number of emails or the number of recipients, your account will not be able to send for 24 hours."
So this may explain my situation. If you think you've exceeded your quota, this might explain for anyone else. I still have another couple of hours to see if my quota period expires and I can send again. I'm crossing my fingers.

  • Do not want ALL Contacts in my Address Book on my iPhone

I have a lot of business contacts in my address book on my Mac that I do not want on my iPhone.  Is there a way to select specific groups to snyc from iCloud?  Or is it all or nothing?
    Thanks
    Bonnie

Depending on how your Address Book is organised it may be relatively simple or not, but basically you need to drag the contacts you want to move to On My Mac to your desktop, delete them from Address Book and add them back (double click on the file on your desktop) once you have selected All On My Mac from the groups list.
If you don't have an All On My Mac group, you'll need to go to preferences > general and make set your default account to On My Mac.
You can drag more than one contact at a time so if you have them in groups already it will help, if not you can work through the list of contacts using cmd click to select just the one's you want.
You can turn off the sync with Google and Yahoo from preferences > accounts > On My Mac.
    Summary:
Select all the contacts you want to move
    Drag them to the desktop
    Delete from Address Book
Set default account to On My Mac
Select All On My Mac from groups
Double click the file on your desktop

  • WES610N - only one MAC address for all connected devices

Hi! I use a WES610N 4-port WLAN bridge to connect my audio and video devices (Pioneer AV receiver, Samsung TV set and a WD Live TV box) to my E4200 router upstairs. This works fine and the WLAN connection works stable and fast. There's a Synology 212j NAS running DM 3.2 connected to my E4200 router. On this NAS a DLNA/UPnP media server is running to stream audio and video from the NAS to my Receiver, to my TV set and to the WD Live TV box. Audio and video is ok but i also want to send photos from the NAS direct to the TV and WD Live. To see the photos in the correct solution i have to configure a DLNA profile on the media server for each DLNA client which connects to the media server. I have to configute this based on the device name, IP address and MAC address shown in the clinet list of the media server. So far so good - and here's my problem: Every device connected to the WES610N is seen with the same MAC address - the one of the WES610 - by the media server. This confuses the server and it's not possible to assign a DLNA profile to each of the devices (TV, Receiver, WD box) because the IP - MAC pairing always changes when one of the devices sends data packets to the media server. So the assigned profile configuration gets lost and switches back to standard DLNA profile and photos can not be displayed correct by the devices. So what i would need is that every device connected to the WES610N is seen by the media server by it's on MAC address. Is there a solution or are there plans to implement this in future firmware versions? Thx, BR Christian

You can try the following combination of settings :-
A] With the help of Cisco Connect Software (if at all you have installed the router with the help of this software)
1] Open the software and go to the option which says "Router Settings"
2] Then click on the option which says "Advanced Settings" which will take you to the router's configuration page.
3] Lower the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) from 1500 to 1400 or less (usually found on your routers main/ basic setup page)
4] Then click on Security tab disable SPI Firewall Protection, uncheck Filter Anonymous Internet Requests...
B] If you haven't installed Cisco Connect then you can log on to the router's user interface using it's default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and type in 'admin' as the password leaving the user name field blank. This will take you to the router's web interface and then follow steps as mentioned above to make the changes.
    Then check the connectivity status...

  • IPv4 reservations check all of Option 61, not just MAC address

I am trying to use Server 2012 R2 DHCP to assign IPv4 addresses in a mixed network.
Most systems send a very brief Client Identifier (Option 61) which includes only hardware type and MAC address.  Some systems (most importantly Fedora 21 in my case) send more information including an IAID, DUID type, and time in addition to hardware
type and MAC address.  MAC address still comes at the end of the option.
I am attempting to use reservations to assign addresses to workstations, but DHCP doesn't seem to know what to do with the extended options sent by Fedora 21; it checks all of the client identifier against the MAC address and then rejects the request because
the client identifier has additional information.  Has anyone found a server setting to resolve this?  Once a Fedora client is set up it can be configured to send only the MAC address and hardware type in Option 61, but I am looking for something
that will work with the default options.  It seems odd to me that DHCP requires a MAC address to identify clients in a reservation, but compares the MAC address to all of the contents of Option 61.

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that DHCP server(Windows Server 2012) can’t reserve IP address to Fedora 21, due to extended options(61) sent by this client.
Windows DHCP server, reservation is based on MAC address. as you mentioned that DHCP server will check the message sent from the client, if the matched MAC address has been detected, reserved IP address will assign to the client.
As far as I know, there is no additional setting for Windows DHCP server to control the identifiable field of message sent from client.
Configure the Fedora client to send only the MAC address and hardware type in Option 61, could be a better way to resolve this problem.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
Get the printer onto the network - if the issue is that you have Mac address filtering locked, then just unlock the setting for a few minutes.

  • How do I find the MAC address of a CLIENT ACCESS POINT created from the FILE SERVICES ROLE

I have several Client Access Points created within the clustered File Services Role.  The only way I seem to be able to determine the MAC address of each of these, is by visiting the DHCP server.
Does anyone know if there is a way of reporting on this from the server (active node) itself?  I have tried ipconfig all, checked the properties of the CAP in the FCS console etc.
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
As far as I know there have no original option for query all the CAP MAC address, may you can create a PowerShell command then filter the configuration result, you can ask
