Exchange server 2013 public ip

hello,
     can  any be  help  me  on  "how to assign  public  IP to exchange server  to configure   webmail  access".. please
Mohammed Altaf Ahmed

Hi,
Rich's suggestion is pretty helpful. Public IP address is required to represent an Exchange server on the Internet. The router or Firewall will translate the public IP address to the internal one and forward communications from the internet to the Exchange
server.
Here is a related article for your reference, please refer to the "IP Addressing" topic.

  • Migrate Exchange Server 2010 Public Folder shared calendars to Exchange Server 2013

    Dear All,
    I have an question about calendars under public folder migrating to new exchange server 2013. When completed the PF migration progress, will it also migrate calendars under sub-folder under PF to new PF mailbox?
    For example: in exchange 2010 PF:
    In exchange 2013
               \Public Folder\sales\A1_calendar
              --->
               \ Public Folder\sales\A2_calendar
    ---> ?
                \Public Folder\sales\A3_calendar
    --->  ?
                \Public Folder\sales\A4_calendar
    ---> ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Public Folder in exchange server 2013

    We are using an legacy application developed in Classic ASP. In this application we are rendering the message items in the public folder on the exchange server 2003.
    Now we are going to migrate our exchange server 2003  to exchange server 2013.
    Do exchange server 2013 have public folder? Is this migration have impact on the public folders usage.
    Please let me know for any clarifications.

    There will be no co-existence support for Exchange Server 2003. In your scenario, you will have to migrate twice, once from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 or 2010, then again to Exchange 2013 or another option you have to proceed that by using any third-party
    migration tool to accomplish this task in one go. When you preparing to migrate mailbox, you can have a look at
    exchange server deployment assistant to see the current recommended steps for your configuration. A good resource for swing migration direct from exchange 2003 to 2013 can be explored at
    here.
    In the same way, You cannot migrate public folders directly from Exchange 2003. You will have to move all public folder databases and replicas to Exchange 2007 SP3 RU10 or later. No public folder replicas can remain on Exchange 2003.
    I would like to refer on couple of links mentioned below. It will help you better to clarify the scenario further :

  • Exchange Server 2013 - Sizing

    Can some please provide me Exchange server 2013 sizing for 180 Mailbox users with mailbox profile size 10 GB With 1 DAG with two mailbox servers.
    Please provide for Exchange Server in Virtual environment.
    I have already created a setup on Environment going through test mode.
    Existing Environment
    2 X CAS servers -  2 Core - 4 GB Memory - 500 GB Hard disk space
    2 X Mailbox Server - 2 Core -  12 GB Memory - 1.5 TB disk space
    Theses servers are build on VMWare hosted on ESX server
    Please provide your feedback for best practice and solution to support 180 Mailbox profile with Mailbox size limit 10 GB
    Thanks in adavance
    Benhur
    benhur007

    Hi Benhur,
    we have over one thousand mailboxes ( inc. room,shared,calendar and so on).We only have 2 servers With Mailbox and CAS role.No need to seperate those roles if you really dont have to.2013 CAs only Proxy/redirect requests and nothing is stored (other that
    daily performance log and iis log).C: drive for Exchange install i recomend 70gb on each server.
    When it comes to mailbox database,are you planning to use Public folders?In 2013 Public folders can be stored on seperate databases.
    Also it is not recomended to have Exchange and mailbox database on same physical disk,so you should seperate those out and expand over time without taking Down the server.
    In easy sample the server can look like this:
    C: Install Exchange  70GB
    D: Database files 1GB ( here you map multiple databases in different folders,so it look like D:\DB01,D:\DB02,D:\DB03 and so on.And each folder is an own 300 gb disk that you Mount into one of these folders at time.Path and name have to be identical on both
    servers when setting up DAG.)
    E: Log files 1GB ( here you map multiple databases in different folders,so it look like E:\LOG01,E:\LOG02,E:\LOG03 and so on.And each folder is its own 70 gb disk that you Mount into one of these folders at time.Path and name have to be identical on
    both servers when setting up DAG.)
    Approx 300GB each database and 70 gb each log(for each database) should be fine.
    10gb database pr user can cause performance issue if they are working online (Citrix or other apps),if cache locally it might take time if they are not inside worknetwork.
    Dont forget that you should also have your own replication network or it will consume bandwidth when you move over multiple users to different databases.
    Hope this helps!

  • New Deployment of Exchange Server 2013.

    Hello All,
    Good Day !!
    We are planning to install Exchange 2013  Mailbox and Client Access on single server ( Windows Server 2012 Standard).
    Currently Active Directory roles runs on windows server 2008R2 Sp1.
    Its a new deployment for exchange as currently we are using Godaddy email server ( Can we migrate all our emails from Go daddy to our exchange Server).
    Also confirm  current active directory will support the installation and deployment of Exchange Server 2013.
    How much HDD, RAM and  CPU cores are required to support exchange Server Mailbox and Client Access roles( Users are 30 ).
    How many Static IP's and SSl certificates are required for exchange.
    Atlast as i said its new deployment please suggest if anything else is missing from my end.

    Hello,
    I recommend using professional cheat-sheet articles for Exchange 2013 sizing:
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2013/planning-architecture/exchange-2013-sizing-cheat-sheet-part1.html
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2013/planning-architecture/exchange-2013-sizing-cheat-sheet-part2.html
    The server's requirements depend on many factors ie. number of emails received/sent, mailboxes sizes etc.
    In addition your AD environment's level supports Exchange 2013 deployment. You will need only prepare your schema and forest for Exchange installation. You will need also at least one public IP address and SSL certificate for that server.
    Hope it helps,

  • Issues trying to recover failed Exchange Server 2013 in a DAG

    Having several issues attempting to recover a failed Exchange Server 2013. To start out, the failed server was mounted on a virtual server using hyper-v. The virtual server failed due to some hard drive partition issues and would no longer boot. As there
    really was no purpose to having Exchange on a Virtual Server I decided to rename the host to the same name as the virtual server. I reset the name in AD and proceeded to rename the server. Then made sure all the necessary things were installed and proceeded
    to do a recovery installation. I neglected to properly delete the old databases belonging to that server. I simply deleted the files off the hard drive instead of doing it properly. I should mention this is a two node plus witness server installation.Now,
    it seems I cannot delete the former server in either ECP or command line. I have attempted to clean up the mess with the old databases but there is one that was mounted only on the failed server that I cannot remove. It seems until I can remove that, I cannot
    remove the failed server from the DAG and do a recovery install. The steps shown in the tech net articles to remove a failed database have also failed. At this point I am wondering if I should just give up on the server name and do an install on a new server
    name or if someone can give me some information on how to clean up the mess, that would be better I am sure. Here is a list of the things I have tried.
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876880(v=exchg.150).aspx and in this article, the item mentioned is not in ADSIedit.

    list of all arbitration mailboxes in this database, run the command Get-Mailbox -Database "Mailbox Database 0939719168" -Arbitration.
    To disable a non-arbitration mailbox so that you can delete the mailbox database, run the command Disable-Mailbox
    <Mailbox ID>. To disable an archive mailbox so you can delete the mailbox database, run the command Disable-Mailbox
    <Mailbox ID> -Archive. To disable a public folder mailbox so that you can delete the mailbox database, run the command
    Disable-Mailbox <Mailbox ID> -PublicFolder. Arbitration mailboxes should be moved to another server; to do this, run
    the command New-MoveRequest <parameters>. If this is the last server in the organization, run the command
    Disable-Mailbox <Mailbox ID> -Arbitration -DisableLastArbitrationMailboxAllowed to disable the arbitration mailbox.
    Mailbox plans should be moved to another server; to do this, run the command Set-MailboxPlan <MailboxPlan ID>

  • Exchange Server 2013 internal and external DNS records

    I recently installed Exchange Server 2013 and I've register a pubic ip too for exchange server. How can I create internal DNS as well MX record for my Exchange server to send and receive internet mails. It's my first time configuring exchange for a organization.
    registered domain name=====np.bbcmediaaction.org
    public ip=====202.166.212.221

    Hi,
    For external mail flow, we need the following DNS records: MX records for the domain part of the external recipient, A records for the destination messaging servers. For more information, you can refer to the following article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb676467(v=exchg.150).aspx
    Additionally, to ensure external mail flow works well, we also need to configure send connector.

  • Mails struck in Drafts folder after Transport Agent installed in Exchange Server 2013

    Hi all,
    I created Transport Agent and installed successfully in exchange server 2013.
    After that mails are struck in drafts folder.
    I thought because of My Custom transport Agent , then i  Uninstall Transport agent.
    but still no use.
    I restart Microsoft Exchange Transport Service and restart my server also.
    Here is the code i used
    public sealed class MyAgentFactory : RoutingAgentFactory
    public override RoutingAgent CreateAgent(SmtpServer server)
    return new MyAgent();
    public class MyAgent : RoutingAgent
    public MyAgent()

  • Recover mailbox from Exchange server 2010 information store to exchange server 2013

    I have a big issue. I have a correct exchange server 2010 where the active directory is corrupt but the information store is good.
    I would like to recover a couple of mailboxes to an exchange server 2013.
    Can anyone give me a detailed walk through of how I can accomplish this?
    Thank in advance

    Well if your AD is messed up that leaves you in a jam for sure because;
    1. Database portability ONLY works within the same organization, so you cannot just install a new 2010 server in a completely different forest and then move the DB in hopes that DB portability will work.
    2. As Ed said you should build a new Exchange 2010 server and use portability but it has to be in the same organization.
    3. Here is a good article on how to accomplish
    http://exchangeserverpro.com/exchange-2010-database-portability-disaster-recovery/
    4. Now if you by chance have an AD backup before it went south you could build a separate network with same names etc just keep it isolated from the production server and then restore AD to that environment and you could then use DB portability.
    That said if you don't have any other machines to work with then you are in a bit of a pickle and will have to use a 3rd party product to get to that data within the 2010 DB.   We make a product that can do this (DigiScope), however if you don't
    have any budget to handle its a non-issue.
    The only other thing you could consider is to restore your AD from a previous point in time, however BE VERY CAREFUL if you consider this since it could cause more issues then you have now.
    BTW if you AD is messed up, where are you putting this new 2013 server?
    Search, Recover, & Extract Mailboxes, Folders, & Email Items from Offline Exchange Mailbox and Public Folder EDB's and Live Exchange Servers or Import/Migrate direct from Offline EDB to Any Production Exchange Server, even cross version i.e. 2003 -->
    2007 --> 2010 --> 2013 with Lucid8's

  • Backing up Exchange Server 2013 CU3 with Windows Server Backup Program

    Looking at configuring Windows Server Backup Program to backup Exchange Server 2013 CU3 which is a member a DAG Group using a specific Backup Domain Account.
    From my understanding from the following technet Article" Using Windows Server Backup to Backup and Restore Exchange Data" at  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876851(v=exchg.150).aspx I cannot use wbadmin.exe has it uses an older
    unsupported version of Powershell.
    My question is what are the minimum AD rights required for an AD account needed to be able to backup/restore Exchange Datastore using Windows Server Backup Program in Windows Server 2012?
    Thanks,
    NIck

    Hi Sathish,
    After looking at your response, it all make sense except when I look at what exchange right assigned via RBAC.  I understand that the backup service account will require access to the exchange databases
    to be able to backing and restoring them.  After looking at the different roles
    I'm wondering if I require to assign both the Databases roles for Backing up the databases and the Disaster Recovery Role as well to be able to restore the databases has well as having a mailbox on the exchange
    server for the backup service account?
    Below is explanation of the roles via the ECP
    Database Role
    This role enables administrators to create, manage, mount and dismount mailbox and public folder databases on individual servers.
    Disaster Recovery
    This role enables administrators to restore mailboxes and database availability groups in an organization.
    Thanks,

  • Exchange Server 2013 - 550 5.7.1 Unable to Relay

    Hi Guys,
    I have recently setup Exchange 2013, I have been having an issue were the Emails that we are attempting to send are getting stuck in the 'Drafts' box. I decided to use Telnet to see if I could send emails that way but much to my disappoint I was unable to
    send emails to external contacts using Telnet getting the following error '550 5.7.1 Unable to relay'.
    For my external server lookup I have my internal DNS Server for the DNS and my internal DNS Servers forward DNS Requests to Google's Public DNS Servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). I have tried removing Google's DNS Settings and just using my internal servers
    and using Google's DNS Server and not our internal DNS Settings.
    Does anyone have any suggestion on what might be causing this issue. I have been working through the solution in other posts on other web sites but so fare not much luck.

    Hi,
    Please check whether the Windows services that Exchange requires on a server have started via Test-Servicehealth. Especially Exchange Transport service and Mailbox transport service.
    Please add the IP address of our DNS server for testing.
    Please also re-configure our Relay Connector, found a useful article for your reference:
