  • Exchange 2010 Installation error

    Hi All,
I'm at my over 10th installation of Exchange 2010 server and it is the first time I have to admit that I can't resolve the issue i'm faced off ;-)
Here is some info about my issue. The installation is on a Windows 2008 R2 (Virtual) sit on a Windows 2012 R2 server with Hyper-V and it is a fresh vanilla installation that I'm trying to install for the 3rd time. Each attempts returned me the same error
    at the same steps.
The Exchange installation is a typical, common, CAS, Mailbox and HUB installation without any particular configuration in the setup.
Here is the error I get:

I Googled every single point of failure indication and I didn't get reliable fix or work around.
I used ADSI edit  to see if the IIS folders are there and yes they are except the EWS one which is mentioned in
the error message. Forest, Domain and AD have been prepared as it should, DCDIAG doesn't return any problem and the security has been set
properly for Legacy migration with an Exchange 2003 organisation.
Here is the par of the Exchange setup log where it stopped:

I appreciate the time anybody would spend to help me with my issue

Well, here is a status of what I did.
After running the Cleanup tool, I ran the Exchange server setup again without re installing anything and I got the same error and I have found .NET issue in the application's event logs (Event ID 1111 .NET runtime optimization service with this error code:
    - Error code 0x80029c4a =
Cannot Load Library); . Why that? because there still Windows Kernel Mode and User Mode .NET 1.11.
So I uninstalled them and ran the exchange setup again. It failed a the same point but nothing in the application log that time.
Going further to see if it is a .NET issue, I re installed from Windows Update the .NET
1.11 packages (Which are required prior to reinstall .NET 4.5) restart the server + re install version 4.5.1 and ran the setup again without the two available security patches for .NET 4.5.1. Guess what, same issue. No .NET error and no specific or related
log except the Exchange setup installation error.
From the MSExchange Management log, i have found that 2 errors are logged each time I run the setup:
    Cmdlet failed. Cmdlet Install-ClientAccessRole, parameters {DomainController=powerhouse.parasuco.com, UpdatesDir=E:\Updates, ExternalCASServerDomain=webmail.parasuco.com}.
    Cmdlet failed. Cmdlet New-WebServicesVirtualDirectory, parameters {WindowsAuthentication=True, WSSecurityAuthentication=True, InternalNLBBypassUrl=https://mtl1ex01.parasuco.com/ews/exchange.asmx, DomainController=powerhouse.parasuco.com, Force=True, GzipLevel=High}.
So it seems to me to be a IIS and security issue. Again, All other IIS virtual folders have been created without any problem. Why does the setup can't create the EWS one???

  • Exchange 2013 installation error

i have a server running server standard 2012 r2 recently upgraded from server standard 2003
    it is a dc,dchp,dns.
i am trying to install exchange server 2013 standard during the installation i get the following error message.
    and am unable to continue.
    The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
        install-ExchangeSchema -LdapFileName ($roleInstallPath + "Setup\Data\"+$RoleSchemaPrefix + "schema0.ldf")
" was run: "There was an error while running 'ldifde.exe' to import the schema file 'C:\Windows\Temp\ExchangeSetup\Setup\Data\PostWindows2003_schema0.ldf'. The error code is: 8224. More details can be found in the error file: 'C:\Users\Administrator.example\AppData\Local\Temp\ldif.err'".

    Hi,
Agree with Amit. And I also find some information for your reference:
Error 8224 is easily resolved by checking the Windows Firewall Profile and either.
    A. Disable Domain Profile firewall as well as Private and Public Profles.
    B. Disable or turn off Windows Firewall and change the state of the service to Manual.
More details in the following thread:

  • Exchange Server 2007 error during updating SP3

    Hi
My exchange server 2007 needs to update to sp3 and the OS is W2K8 Ent. During the update process, there was a prerequisite check and its failed to continue because of the following error.
1.Error:The Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) service is installed on this computer. This must be removed before Setup can continue.
2.Error:The Windows Firewall service must be started before Setup can continue.
3.Error:Setup cannot continue with the upgrade because the 'beremote' () process (ID: 7860) has open files. Close the process and restart Setup.
I tried to remove the SMTP but it wont uninstall from the server, and IIS is installed on the server also.
So, is the SMTP is dependent with IIS and how can I proceed the update now ? And also please remarks on the 3rd error.
    Thanks in advance.

    run the servermanagercmd -q
see the output, does it list out smtp servier in green.
if you have previously uninstalled SMTP service, try restarting your server.
there was another post with the same error,

  • Exchange Server Installation for a DAG environment

I have prepared 6 servers for exchange 2013 installation :
2 for DC and ADC   -- OS windows server 2012 R2
2 for CAS Role       -- OS Windows server 2012
2 for Mailbox Role  -- OS Windows Server 2012
As Windows Server 2012 R2 is not supported for installing Exchange 2013 i decommissioned 4 Servers ( CAS and Mailbox ) and starting from scratch.
Will the above scenario work now ... like having Domain controller OS  in Server 2012 R2  and CAS and Mailbox Server Roles in Server 2012 Version ?
How to install individual Server role for exchange server 2013 ( i mean CAS role on 2 servers and Mailbox on 2 servers). are there any steps to follow on for this ?
Please let me know on this.

Windows 2012 R2 will work for a server OS for your Domain Controllers.  However, the Forest and Domain functional levels need to be Windows 2012 or less.
For your Exchange 2013 servers, there are a lot of unanswered questions here and these forums only give us a certain amount of space and time to explain the entire installation process.   If this is for production and your not sure what to do,
your best bet is to hire a consultant to help you out to make sure you get all the ins and outs.  At the very least you can get assistance in your deployment.  If you don't have budget for this or are creating a test lab, you can always try using
    the Exchange Deployment -
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/jj657516.aspx.  This might give you an idea of how to proceed.
There are a lot of examples of Exchange installs out there as well.  If this is a lab, these are well worth looking through and tinkering with to get to know the product better:
    Example -

Based on installing Exchange Server 2013 on Windows Server 2012. What are the prerequisites if one wants to install it on the member server?

    Hi Simtandile,
It depends basically which role you are deploying.
Considerting its the first Exchange Server in your environment, below are the generic requirements.
The computer you want to use to prepare Active Directory for Exchange 2013 has specific prerequisites that must be met.
Install the following software on the computer that will be used to prepare Active Directory:
    Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5
The version of Windows Management Framework that corresponds to the version of Exchange 2013 you're installing.
    Exchange 2013 CU3
    Windows Management Framework 3.0
    Exchange 2013 SP1 or later
    Windows Management Framework 4.0
    Note:
.NET Framework 4.5 and Windows Management Framework 3.0 are included with Windows Server 2012 and don't need to be installed separately.
.NET Framework 4.5 and Windows Management Framework 4.0 are included with Windows Server 2012 R2 and don't need to be installed separately.
NOTE:- WindowsServer2012R2 would require minimum ExchangeServer2013SP1 to work properly.

I would recommend you using the

  • MS Exchange Server 2013 Error

    Error:
    The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();

    $RoleDomainController -InstallInTrustedRootCAIfSelfSigned $true

because a cryptographic exception was thrown.".

    Hi,
Based on my research, the error may be caused by that the certificate is not properly assigned to services or the certificate is in Personal store of Certificate MMC as Amit Tank said.
And here are the steps to assign the certificate to services:
1.In the Exchange Administration Center navigate to Servers -> Certificates and choose the server that has the SSL certificate you wish to assign. The certificate must already been in a valid status before you can proceed further.
2.Click the edit icon and then select Services. Tick the boxes for the services that you wish to assign the SSL certificate to, then click Save. The typical services to assign to an SSL certificate are IIS and SMTP.

    Hi,
If no other weblogic serverss installed on that machine, then you could delete the registry key corresponding to the old installation.
It seems you are using windows.
click start button-->Run-->type 'regedit' without quotes and then search for the key weblogic and delete that key.
*Please make sure you will have a backup of registry keys.
presee CTRL + F and type weblogic and click next and find a key smiliar to this below.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\BEA Products
select the BEA Products folder lefthandside and delete that.
remove BEA products shortcut from start menu and reboot your machine once and then try installing weblogic server.
    Thanks
