Exchange server with active sync in outlook for mac

I am currently using windows7 machine and installed outlook in it. The outlook is configured with exchange server2013 with active sync protocol. Everything works fine. Now, i planning to purchase a new mac book, and want to install office for mac 2011
in it. I want to know that, can i configure my exchange server2013 with active sync in that.

Outlook is not using ActiveSync, not Office for Mac uses it. Outlook is using MAPI (over HTTPs) to connect to Exchange Server, while ActiveSync is used only by mobile devices (such as smartphones and tablets) and by Windows Mail client. And for the Office
2011 for Mac, it uses EWS to connect to Exchange. I can confirm that it works fine.

  • Sync Microsoft outlook for Mac with Apple calendar

    Hi,
I run Microsofts Office 365 for Mac on my Macbook Pro, and manage my work Calendar (Which comes via a Microsoft Exchange server) on Outlook for Mac. My personal/Family Calendar runs on the Apple Calendar and therefore doesn't interact at all with the other calendar.
I would love to be able to Sync up both the Calendars, not necessarily bi-directional, but rather to use just my Apple Calendar to show both personal and business calendar events on one calendar. (i.e. pull in any events from the Outlook calendar into the Apple Calendar).
Does anyone know how/if I can do this, and if so how?

  • ICal sync to Outlook for Mac 2011

I'm running Outlook for Mac 2011 on OSX 10.8.4. We have a hosted Exchange service for email and calendar sharing amongst colleagues (not all on Macs), this works fine as does sync to the Exchange accounts to/from mobile devices where we can all also have our private appointments displayed simultaneously.  Any Exchange Calendar events also show up in iCal.
What I would really like is for any non-business events added in iCal on the iCloud account to show up in Outlook so I don't double-book from Outlook. The information I've read seems to suggest the lack of iSync in OSX 10.7 onwards is a problem, my questions is have I understood this correctly and does anyone know a way around this ?
    Stuart

I'm afraid the answer is that you can't, because Microsoft have not provided it with the necessary protocols. This thread looks at it in some detail, including an official response from Microsoft:

  • Why did Apple remove the INFO tab in iTunes? I like syncing my Outlook for Mac Calendar to my iPhone.

I find the iCal very restricting and like using my Outlook for Mac calendar and contacts.  But with the new Maverick, they have removed this feature.  Why can't they play nice w/Microsoft?

This has nothing to do with Microsoft. It was removed with Mavericks for syncing direct with Apple's Address Book and iCal, etc. via the iTunes sync process as well.

  • MS Exchange Server vs Active Sync

    Hi ...
    I have Office 2013 installed.
I bought Outlook 365 too, and set up this @tresfjording.onmicrosoft.com email server.
    But the email address
************@tresfjording.onmicrosoft.com is simply not to live with.
So, in my Outlook 2013 I removed the excahnge server email account. The result is that I can't even make recipients Groups in Outlook ...
How can I get a decent email alias at onmicrosoft.com?

    Hi,
Contact Groups are not supported in Exchange ActiveSync (EAS).
For more information about your Office 365 user ID, please refer to the following article:

  • Hi my road runner mail works with mail but not outlook for mac?

This problem seems to have popped up after updating to Lion.  I like outlook because I use it at work and I like the calander right there. My exchange account for work and gmail account function well but road runner is an issue?  Does any one have experience with this issue?

Sounds to me like the mail server you're trying to reach is not reachable when off the netwok it lives on. This is pretty common of you're using e-mail provided by your ISP. It's done to help control spam relaying through their servers. Contact the mail provider for the correct server settings to use on a mobile device.

  • Solution for Outlook for mac no longer syncing to iCloud?

I have a new iPhone 5s and am running Mavericks on my MacBook. I use Outlook for mac for my mail and contacts.
The new version of iTunes (since around mid October 2013) no longer syncs contacts and calendars from Outlook - and from searching forums online it seems that Outlook no longer syncs with iCloud.
When I log into www.iCloud.com this seems to be true as my iPhone calendar is consistent with the calendar I see on iCloud.com, so icloud seems fine.
The problem is that calendar appointments and contacts from Outlook on my mac do not sync through to iCloud - and I cannot work out how to acheive this - very frustrating.
Can anyone help or offer a suggestion?
    Thank you!

Thanks Csound - I don't know the technical details - but until October all contacts and calendars were syncing from Outlook for mac through onto my iPhone and iPads - each time that I synced connected with iTunes.
The newer version of iTunes now no longer syncs these - so I'm stuck using Outlook on mac and an iPhone - but neither will talk to each other - the contacts and calendars don't swap.
Surely I'm not the only person with this problem - has anyone else found a workaround?
If you're using Outlook for mac how are you syncing info to icloud and back?
Whether through google or sending using iCloud mail, or whatever it might be.
    Thank you

  • Send Issues with Outlook for Mac (2011 / V15) and Exchange 2013 SP1

    Hi all,
we have a strange issue with only with Outlook for Mac Users (version 2011 and the newest Outlook Version (V15) from Office 365) connected to our Exchange Server 2013 SP1. Some emails which we send out to the exactly same recipient are not sent through our
    Exchange Server.
We have sent 8 emails with subject "test1, test2, test3...". Only test 3-6 was arriving to the recipient. The other emails are in the "sent" folder but it was not sent out through the Exchange.
What we can see with "Get-MessageTrackingLog" is, that the Recipients and MessageSubject are empty for these emails:
    Timestamp Sender Recipients MessageSubject

    25.02.2015 17:13:55 [email protected].. {}
We can still reproduce the issue on different Mac computers.
Thanks for any help in advance!
    Thanks and best regards

  • HT3748 since upgrading to Mountain Lion, my Mac Mail no longer works well w/exchange email; so, I have had to switch back to outlook. Now, how can I use outlook for mac's calendar and contacts with icloud?

Since uprgading to Mountain Lion, my mac mail no longer works with my exchange email properly. I finally gave up and moved back to outlook for mac, but now my new issue is using outlook calendar and contacts with icloud; possible?

Sorry but I'm really not to sure what I have. I'm not good with knowing my computer model. All I know is that its a MacBook running with Leopard. I got my computer last year so I suppose its fairly new. Is there a place on my computer where I can check to see what it is (sorry to be so dumb with my own mac)
And everything else works fine. I love Safari. It's just my mail that doesn't work. Here's the message that pop up several times.
"The MobileMe IMAP server “mail.mac.com” rejected the password for user “akcastaldo”
Please re-enter your password, or cancel."
The only problem here is, even though I enter my password it doesn't do anything. It makes that message go away for about 3-5 mins. After that it pops right back up. And I can't even go into my preference and change my email password. So I don't know what to do.

  • How do i sync my iphone with outlook for mac 2011 calendar?

how do i sync my iphone with outlook for mac 2011 calendar?

Here are some instructions from Microsoft:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2452489
Alternatively, depending on where the data in Outlook is coming from, you could set up your phone to sync to the same account that Outlook is syncing with.  For example, my Outlook 2011 and my iPhone both sync to my work Exchange account, so I have that same calendar in both places.

  • Syncing iCloud Calendar with Outlook for Mac (new Outlook)

Does anyone know if it's possible to sync your iCloud Calendar with Outlook for Mac yet (Outlook for Mac is the new Outlook that comes with Microsoft Office 365)? If so, how do you do it?
I've done some research on this question, and most of the responses are a few years old... wanted to see if anything has changed since. I find it weird how I can sync my iCloud Calendar with Outlook 2013 on my PC, but not with Outlook for Mac on my Mac--which is practically the same thing.
    Thanks ahead of time!

    Greetings kipp0606,
If you would like to use iCloud mail in an email client, you may want to review the following article. It contains the mail server settings you'll need to set it up:
iCloud: Mail server settings for email clients - Apple Support
Use these mail server settings if you need to manually set up your email app (client) to use an iCloud email account.
Do you need these mail server settings?
You can use the mail server settings in this article to manually set up your email app to send and receive email with an iCloud email account. However, you shouldn't need to do that if you meet the iCloud system requirements and can use any of these setup methods:
OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later: Use iCloud Preferences.
Microsoft Windows with Microsoft Outlook 2010 or later: Use iCloud for Windows.
iOS 7 or later: Use iCloud settings.
If you're using the Mail app in OS X Snow Leopard v10.6, use the mail server information in the iCloud Mail setup instructions for Snow Leopard instead of the settings below.Mail server settings
Refer to your email app's documentation for information about how to use these settings. iCloud Mail uses the IMAP and SMTP standards supported by most modern email apps. iCloud does not support POP.
IMAP information for the incoming mail server

    Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP information for the outgoing mail server
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS or STARTTLS instead.

  • Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.
