Exchange subfolders do not sync

I recently started using my iphone to sync an Exchange email account through the default iOS mail app. I noticed that the exchange account subfolders rarely sync. Anybody else having this issue? How can I get them to sync? I am willing to download an alternate app if it will work better.

Yes, you can get your contacts to sync back to exchange. But, you need to make sure you are entering their data in the correct "Contact Group"
When you go in to contacts, click the button in the top left (<<Groups) until you see all your contact groups. Select one of your Exchange groups, THEN add the contact.

Revolution-Exchange contacts will not sync

I have an issue where my exchange contacts will not update on my new Revolution. The Activesync is working fine with my mail and my calendar over my exchange account, but the phone will not load my contacts from exchange. I have called online tech support and am working with my work IT group... but so far nothing has worked... any ideas from the group?

as a follow up - PROBLEM SOLVED...
I had to make a backup copy of my contacts... delete them all from my primary exchange contact list... and then I created a test contact which started the sync process to my phone.
I could then add my 600+ contacts back in smaller groups to get them to sync to my phone.

My exchange calendar will not sync.

I installed, succesfully, my exchange email and contacts, but for whatever reason, my calendar will not sync. The error that pops up says that my email address is not valid. Any ideas?

I somehow managed to fix this myself. I am new to Mac. What I did was go to Settings and deleted the Exchange account then I re-added it, quit all the windows, re-started the Mac and it all worked fine.

Exchange 2003 & Mail not syncing

In Leopard Mail, I have a .Mac account as well as an Exchange account set up with the Exchange server where I work. The .Mac account works great, does everything I want it to do; the Exchange account, however, simply will NOT sync email & what I do with it with Exchange.
For the Exchange account setup, I have Mail set up to "Move Deleted Messages to the Trash Mailbox" checked, to "Store Deleted Messages on the Server," and to "Permanently Erase Deleted Messages When: Quitting Mail."
So during the day, I'll move some messages to the Exchange folders that Mail did set up correctly, delete messages I don't want anymore, and then I'll hit "Synchronize All Accounts." When that's done, I quit Mail.
About 5 minutes or so later, I'll log in to Windows using Parallels, open up Outlook, and see that the ENTIRE DAY'S MESSAGES are still in the Outlook inbox. They're shown as "read," but none of the messages that I'd moved to other folders in Mail or the ones I deleted in Mail are appropriately placed where they should be (either in their respective folders or in the "Deleted Items" folder in Outlook).
Is anyone else having this problem?
I do have a copy of Entourage 2008 with Exchange support, and that works fine (though it tends to crash 2-3 times per week). The thing is, I don't really like Entourage, am used to Mail, and prefer it to Entourage...and badly wish I could get Mail to work correctly with Exchange (2003).
BTW, our Exchange server does have IMAP turned on, which works great with the iPhone. But Mail just simply won't work with Exchange no matter what I try.
Any hints/ideas/something obvious I'm overlooking?

We are having problems where I work as well. The problem is that Mail is constantly syncing with the server and takes FOREVER to complete it. I've tried every combination of settings you could do in Mail, and we've had both Mac & PC IT guys in that can't figure out why it takes so long to sync, and why it feels it's necessary to sync when I simply click on my Sent folder, or Trash folder...any little click causes the program to want to sync something. Even my calendar events of which i have zero, take 10 - 15 minutes to sync.
Can anyone suggest a fix to my problem or the original poster's problem?

Address Book and Exchange Server - NO NOTES SYNCING???

I have my address book syncing very nicely with my exchange server, but notes do not seem to want to sync. If I create a note on the web access, it doesn't copy to the address book, and none of the address book notes copy to the exchange.
I can't get an answer out of Apple Support either if they are supposed to sync or not! Has anyone here gotten notes to sync with exchange?

Arrgggh! That's a bummer, they could just strip out the notes if they had attachments or something.. or give an error. I have no attachments, and notes are extremely important to me.
Oh well.. there goes my ability to do away with Entourage!

My gmail account connecting to the exchange server, does not sync correctly

i've been with the sync. problem with my gmail account which is connecting my iPod touch 2nd-gen./iOS v4.2.1 to the google's exchange server, more specifically when i read some emails offline.
Actually there is no sync problem when i read emails online, when the read emails are shown 'having been read' at the desktop browser as well.
That is, the problem i have now is the 'having been read' emails offline do not sync correctly to the google's exchange server.
Hopefully there is some help from this forum i can get.

Right now the add-ons got synced but the customization I did to the looks of it did not.
These customizations are: moving the home button right next to the back button and removing the search bar.
Conclusion: it takes a while(about an hour!!!!!) to sync these stuff, at least that is what happened with me though my connection was normal and not slow at all.

Refurbished rapid exchange ipod will not sync

It's like a brand new one, but itunes is not recognizing it at all-there was cdrom that came with it, but don't know what program (in windows) to open it with. Please help tell me how to get new ipod to sync with existing account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wasn't helpful, but I'll continue to look on it, unless any new ideas. my original ipod stopped working one day. i had a warranty on it at best buy and geek squad took it and sent me one refurbished on a "rapid exhange program", so it is like new one, it will turn on, but will not sync with itunes- it is "usb device not recoginized".
- i tried calling geek squad number and explained my situation and they wanted to charge me $50-those batards.

IPhone with Exchange contacts will not sync to Laptop

A user at our company has an iPhone that syncs with our Exchange server just fine. He just purchased a Mac Book and cannot get his contacts to sync through iTunes.
It will sync any contacts that he has directly on the phone, but not any that are from the Exchange account.
Is there a way to do this?

No way to do this, which is a limitation with an Exchange account accessed via ActiveSync which provides for syncing contacts over the air with the Exchange server, and this is the way that most employers want it. Contacts synced over the air are not stored locally on the iPhone.
If the employer allows for accessing the company Exchange account on a personal computer at home, the user can create/access the company Exchange account with the Mail.app on his Mac, which provides for syncing Exchange contacts and calendar events with the Address Book and iCal.
What is available when syncing Exchange contacts over the air with an Exchange account on an iPhone is syncing personal contacts direct with a supported address book application on a personal computer at home via the iTunes sync process. Business and personal contacts can be viewed combined or separately on the iPhone and are stored and synced separately on the iPhone.

Exchange Calendar Will Not Sync or Delete

Download the 2.1 update this morning and it went smoothly. However, my calendar has not only stopped syncing with my exchange account, but it's been completely wiped clean on my phone.
When I try to remove the exchange account (I figured this would be the easiest solution) and set it up all over again, I get a pop up that says "Deleting account" that seems to run forever (it's been over 30min). Additionally, when I hold down the home button to cancel out of it and try to go back into settings, settings won't function and appears as though it's frozen indefinitely. The only way then to get settings to work again is to restart the entire phone (hold home/power button for 5secs).
Bottom line: I need exchange back up and running and my calendar needs to be re-synced. Any assistance would be helpful.

I am having the issue with calendar exchange as well. My email appears to be working normally, but its eating my battery very quickly!
Someone help us quickly! I am going to try a phone restore now and try and go back and hopefully my exchange calendar will be back (after the phone, it's my most important feature I need for work).

IPad, Exchange 2010, Traveling not syncing

For work I travel a ton, so being on a plane gives me a good time to clean up and respond to emails. I know they won't send or delete until I land which has been working fine.
However the last 2 trips I took (all domestic here in the US) I've had issues. I've deleted 100+ messages and replied to many as well. I show the replies in the outbox until we land and I get data (LTE and/or WIFI). Once we land my outbox sends the messages. The issue is those messages that I deleted or read are not deleting from Exchange. (I show them in Outlook, OWA, and on my iPhone) So I know the messages aren't syncing the delete/read/unread status.
I was on iOS 7.0.3, I removed the accounts and re-added (no different)
updated to 7.0.4 with a reset on the iPad and started it over as a new iPad (no different)
Any other ideas?

Are either of you part of protected groups in active directory/exchange? Such as the built ins. i.e Domain Admin/Account Operator etc?

Corporate Exchange Calendar does not sync

Whenever I go into Home>Calendars, and check my Corporate Exchange Calendar, it does not stay selected, so I am unable to sync my calendar items.

I had this same issue and I have fixed it. I have a Droid X working with Exchange Server 2010.
First off you if you have already created the Exchange partnership you may have noticed that you are able to receive email by manually syncing, but you are not able to send emails. (Outgoing emails will remain in the outbox)
If you have access to the Exchange Server you will see that the partnership for the Droid X will show as a "Motoblur30" device. Other phones such as Nexus One and Samsung Fascinate will show as "Android" devices. I have only encountered this email issue with Motoblur devices. All others work flawlessly.
1. Delete the mobile phone partnership via the Exchange Server Console or via Outlook Web App if you're not a network admin.
2. Remove your exchange account via your phone.
3. Ensure Battery Manager is set to "Performance Mode", enable "Background Data", force stop "Backup Assistant" (this may not be necessary but I did it anyway)
4. Force Stop Gmail. I have noticed that if I sync Gmail, my corporate email stops working. I believe this may be the issue but i can't confirm 100%.
5) Re-set up your corporate email account. Data push should be selected. Do not select sync over wifi.
Email should now push to your device and send instantly. Calendar and Outlook Contacts will also sync,
Note: In my case I do not have any other email accounts set up on my Droid X on the native email manager. It may benefit you to use a 3rd party app such as Maildroid.
I went back and forth with Motorola regarding this whole email sync issue and they claim it was my Server Settings...but my personal Nexus One syncs with no issues...I also have a Samsung Fascinate, an Incredible, an Eris, and a Galaxy tab tapping into my server and they all sync instantly. Another user with a Droid X also had the same problem.

Re: Iphone 4; I have two email accounts on Exchange: Gmail and a work email.
For the past week my phone will not push the new emails to my phone. I have it where I fetch my emails manually. I'm getting the spinning wheel of death and it says "Checking for mail", but the emails will not show up.
Something seems to be sucking the battery life out of my phone. (Is this related?)
What I have done: Reset the phone; deleted the email account and added it back on. Nothing seems to work.
Everything else on my phone seems to be working fine.

Please check if this issue affects all activesync users. If only one user is affected, please check if this user is in quarantine list.
And you can enable the ActiveSync Mailbox Logging and then check if there is any related information.

Exchange 2010 Email not Syncing, but Contacts and Calendar do???

Anyone have any feedback on this? I have tried deleting and readding my Exchange 2010 account several times and same result.
No emails are displaying at all. However, all of my contacts are appearing in the contacts app and so are calendar entries. Also, when I go into the settings and choose which folders to have push email, I see a list of all of my exchange folders, so I know it is seeing the server.
Any idea why the emails are not appearing? I have tried all combinations of different settings and can't get them to appear.

Corporate Exchange Account will not sync with WiFi, but will on 3G

I have a corporate Exchange account that I have tried to setup on my 3GS on iOS 4. Using WiFi, it won't connect but it does on 3G. It all worked fine on my 3.1.2 on the same WiFi here at home.
Looking for any helpful ideas.
