Exchange Support ~ Push Not Working??

Is there any reason that the Droid 2 Global would not receive push corporate email when set up through corporate sync properly?  I have heard mixed feedback from members of the tech world stating that the only Verizon android that support "real push" email is the HTC Thunderbolt.  By push email I mean should the device be receiving email in a timely manner close to the same time it is hitting the server.  We are testing several Droid 2s on a company server supporting active sync and we are receiving very long delays in receiving emails and having to go in an refresh every so often.
Other than this, when composing emails in airplane mode while travelling shouldn't the device automatically send what is in the outbox upon reactivating the device on the data network?
So far it seems that the device is amazing for many things however it is far behind some of the older Windows Mobile and Palm devices that we have utilized in the past.
Anyone have any advice??  It would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi awhite332,
It was not mentioned but are you using the Corporate email data plan for $44.99 or the data plan feature for $29.99. The lower cost plan does the access the email without the server function on your device. You may need to be on the corporate plan to have the corporate email function with pushing email automatically to your device from the server with it properly setup to sync.
Perhaps you can check your email settings for the auto sync function is enabled or check to see if you have too many apps running that could cause the email not to function properly.  If the issue it happens again please check yours Settings, Applications and Manage Applications. Then click on the running tab and see if you can kill any unnecessary applications that are running. Click on each one at a time and until the screen comes up click on clear data. As a last resort, maybe un-install your corporate email, reboot the device, reinstall your Corporate email.
Lastly, the device does not always automatically send out email just composed as they may need to manually sent out after you reconnect to the network after coming out of airplane mode.  I am providing a link that you can refer to as a reference for your device. The link is: http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/index.html

  • Exchange Outlook Push Not working, Battery life Tanking, iPhone heats up!

I have seen several posts about this, but nothing that has been able to exactly describe my issue. I have a iPhone 3G on the latest firmware, 3.1.2. I was recently able to add my work exchange email to the phone and it worked fine with SSL disabled. At the time, we had not yet set up security on our OWA. Well that lasted about a week, then they decided to enable the security and since then, my push exchange mail with Outlook has not worked. I tried enabling the SSL feature on the phone and still no dice. As a result, my battery only lasts about 3 hours and the phone's physical temperature heats up. Once I delete the exchange account, the tempreceeds and the battery life returns to normal. I ahve been working closely with our IT guy and we can't seem to figure out what is happening and why it won't sync anymore. I get the error, "cannot get mail, the connection to the server failed" but in the setup, the exchange Account is verified. Any ideas?

Hi, I have just run into the same issue. I was using ver 3.00 on my iPhone 3g up until last night when I upgraded to 3.1.2. Since the upgrade where my phone was successfully connecting to our Exchange 2k3 server and recieving push notifications for mail and calendar etc, this has now stopped. The result now being it will only pull mail on request.
As mentioned in the post above, I have noticed the battery life on my phone has deteriorated significantly, to the point it only lasts a few hours, with almost zero usage.
    Please help.

  • Adobe Exchange Panel Update not working?

    Hello:
My OS is Windows 7 64 bit and I have Ps and Ia installed on my laptop.
I downloaded and installed the Adobe Exchange roughly two months ago and everything worked great at first.
I installed a few things such as the Paper Textures and a game Level Up (can't recall the others at the moment).
The game worked three times but then it just stopped responding. I never had an issue with the other extensions.
Yesterday I went to try out the game again but when i opened the Exchange panel it said there was a new update and so i (sadly) opted to click 'Update'
After clicking the update button I received a message:
Also, Norton said the link or what have ya was NOT trusted and is Unknown. So, I clicked on the Norton message and got this info:
    Heuristic virus? um, what?
    http://www.pctools.com/security-news/heuristic-virus-definition/
I went ahead and Removed all the extensions I had downloaded/installed from the Exchange panel but I would very much like to be able to use them again.
Any ideas as to the issue? Is there a solution?
I have shut off Norton to see if that would work but I still get the above message  "... valid signature ... "
    Sure would appreciate some input.
    Thank you in advance
ps. could the Heuristic virus detection be a False Positive?

    Hello:
You are totally misunderstanding me. I have Windows 7 64 bit and I did have the Exchange Panel already installed. When I went to use the Exchange PanelIT had an update. I didNOT update to Windows 8.
I clicked on the UPDATE IN the Exchange Panel which is what would NOT install because NORTON said it IS MALWARE.
I tried to update the Exchange Panel and NOT my operating system.
The attempt to Update the Exchange Panel caused the older version of the Exchange Panel to not work. So, I had to Uninstall the Exchange Panel and then when I went to Reinstall the Exchange Panel it would NOT install. And now I cannot use it at all.
Again, I DO have Windows 7 and NOT Windows 8.
Please, I would very much like to be able to use the Exchange Panel again because I would like to install some extensions, let me know when this issue is resolved.
    Thank You,
    Kara A. Rowe

  • Yhoo mail Push Not Working?

    He,
iPhone 3GS OS 3.1, Yhoo mail Push Not Working?
    thanks

I have also been having the Y!Mail push issue. I noticed it several weeks ago. It used to be that I would get the email push almost immediately after Y!Messenger told me that I received an email. I now will receive the email push sometimes 30 minutes later, sometimes 40 minutes, sometimes hours later. And sometimes never, because I opened up the Mail widget and it does the fetch. Here is what I have done so far (I do hard restarts each time I make a change): I deleted my Y mail account on the iPhone and added it back. No workee for me. I turned wi-fi off so that I am on 3G. Nope - no pushes. I turned on all of my secondary mail servers. Still no workee. I removed all my installed apps, thinking one of them might be causing interference, but no difference. I have performed Restores on the iPhone with no change. I contacted Y!Mail Tech Supt. We swapped emails a couple of times; still don't get the email pushes. Last email from them requested that I send some information to an AT&T employee who would be working on this issue. Well, I sent the info but haven't heard back from him. Very frustrating.
So just to see if it was my iPhone or a system problem, I sent a test email to my wife's iPhone 3Gs. I sat with the phone for over an hour and no email push. I asked my brother(iPhone 3G) if he gets his email pushes. He says he has never received an email push from Y!Mail since he got the phone last spring.
So is this an Apple issue? Or Yahoo? Or AT&T? Should I make an appt at the Apple Genius Bar and see if one of their gurus can fix it? Maybe one of the Apple iPhone techs that monitor this forum can chime in.

  • Push not working w/ Exchange Server

    Hi -
Push notification stopped working a couple of days ago. My IT department kind of *****, so I have been trying to problem solve myself. MobileMe push is still working just fine, so I know it's not the phone. Is there anything I can try to gentle tell my IT department to change so push starts working again? I've even gone so far as to delete my Exchange account, and load up again all without any change.

    Update:
Updated phone and iPad to IOS 8, same problem.
Now purchased iPhone 6, still the same problem.
    Somebody please help

  • Email pushing not working correctly for office email - 3 seperate devices/carriers

We switched email hosts several months ago and since our email pushing has not worked correctly. Our host/IT guy has been very unwilling to help me through this (I get the pleasure of being the in-house IT source)
I personally am on AT&T have no problems with the other 3 emails I have set up on my blackberry. However I receive my work account one time a day at roughly 6:15. Another user is on Alltel and he receives spotty emails throughout the day, but his gmail account comes through instantly. The third user is on nextel and he receives his 2-3 times per day.
I began to think this was an email host issue since the three of us are all on different carriers, until I found out a fourth user, also on nextel, receives his emails fine.
Users 1-3 are on Outlook 07 on various versions of the Curve. We have all our messages to stay on the server.
User 4 is on the older nextel blackberry push to talk, and is not on outlook.
We do not have an exchange server. Our emails were all set up through our devices.
Any suggestions? The answers I have received through our carriers is to make sure that our messages are set to be left on the server. Everyone else at the office has given up - but for me this is the quest for the Holy Grail.......I'm determined find the answer!
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Potential solution for windows for a side-by-side install. This works for me.
To setup a firefox install side by side so that links from external programs (like email) can open (so you don't get a "Firefox is already running but is not responding" message) do the following.
The solution entails the use of the -no-remote switch. Don't use it for the default browser. Use it for the non default browser.
I'll use firefox 3.6 and firefox 4.0 as examples but this should work for future versions.
+ Install firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.0 in different directories. Eg.
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4\firefox.exe
+ Open profile manager. Start > Run : firefox.exe -ProfileManager
+ In profile manager create Two Profiles.
    firefox3.6
    firefox4
+ In profile manager select firefox 4 as your default (assuming you want to default to the latest) and tick "Don't ask at startup"
    + Create two windows shortcuts.
    * General: Mozilla Firefox 4 (default). Shortcut > Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4\firefox.exe". Shortcut > Start In: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4"
    * General: Mozilla Firefox 3.6. Shortcut > Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p firefox3.6 -no-remote. Shortcut > Start In: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox"
That's it. Links from external programs should now open in your default browser.

  • Push not working in my app

W released a Push Enabled app recently. Although several users have purchased the app, we are seeing NO TOKENs being sent to our servers. We are unclear on what is going on?
    1. We built the app on the 3.0 SDK application for Device 2.0, but as we are supporting Push Notification, we have Push related API's inside #ifdef _IPHONE_30 macros. Will 3.0 API's inside #ifdef _IPHONE_30 macro be compiled and when installed on a 3.0 Device will these API's get executed? That was our expectation but again we are not seeing any tokens coming through.
    2. We see apps out there similar to ours that support 2.0 and 3.0 in the same build, and have Push features on 3.0. We assume the way to do that is to build with #def macros as described in #1 above, and that is what we did. Is that wrong? Must an app supporting Push be exclusively built for 3.0 Device and can not support 2.0 devices?
    Thanks in advance
    Jay

Hi Jay - It might make more sense to review some basics instead of attempting direct answers to each of your questions.
Firstly, you can't use a compiler switch to determine which code blocks are selected at runtime. If a block of 3.0 code is switched in at compile time (i.e. added to the app), that block will be executed by all of the host devices. If the code isn't supported by lower iPhone OS versions, the app would crash on those systems (if allowed to load). On the other hand, if the 3.0 code is switched out at compile time, it's not added to the app and won't be executed by any of the host devices.
You may have been thinking of a runtime switch which detects the OS version and bypasses any incompatible code. There are ways of doing that on some platforms, but AFAIK such a build wouldn't work for an approved iPhone app because the app needs to be branded based on the lowest OS it supports. I.e., if I include 3.0-only features, the app will be marked 3.0 and OS 2.x will refuse to run it.
Although several users have purchased the app, we are seeing NO TOKENs being sent to our servers. We are unclear on what is going on?
It would appear that your #ifdef has switched out the code in question. If you're not sure whether a block of code is included in your app, I would recommend NSLog(). E.g.
    #ifdef _IPHONE_30
    NSLog(@"IPHONE30");
    #endif
The above tells you if a compile time switch is turned on for the current build. I generally like to know what code was included in my app before it's out in the field.
We see apps out there similar to ours that support 2.0 and 3.0 in the same build, and have Push features on 3.0.
AFAIK, any build that has 3.0 features can't support 2.0, and any build that supports 2.0 can't include code that only runs on 3.0.
Each Xcode build is subject to two OS version settings:
    1) The SDK version;
    2) The Executable version.
Here's an article that explains these settings: [http://resources.pinchmedia.com/docs/pinchanalytics/iPhone_SDK_30_2xTargets].
For example, if you build for 2.1 using the 3.0 SDK, the compiler won't recognize API calls that are only available in 2.2 or 3.0, and the build will be marked 2.1 so any iPhone OS below 2.1 won't run it.
    Hope that helps!

  • Exchange 2013 ActiveSync not working

    Hello everyone,
We seem to be having problems with our ActiveSync not working anymore. Users with mobile devices can not access their mailboxes. We have checked just about every setting and the IIS logs and can't find an answer to this issue. Microsoft's Remote Connectivity
Analyzer shows the following error which we can not find an answer for anywhere.
An ActiveSync session is being attempted with the server.
Errors were encountered while testing the Exchange ActiveSync session.
        Test Steps
Attempting to send the OPTIONS command to the server.
Testing of the OPTIONS command failed. For more information, see Additional Details.
        Additional Details
A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 400 - BadRequest response was received from IIS7.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Did you ever find a solution to your problem?  I have exactly the same problem with a fresh install of exchange 2013.  Can access mailboxes via outlook 2010 and owa but can't connect any mobile device.  I'm stumped...
a 400 IIS Bad Request error indicates token bloat. Are you proxying to 2010 mailboxes?
The usual fix is to set the following reg keys on the CAS receiving the requests following the first step described in this article that is similar:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2491354
Create the following registry keys on all CAS servers (both Exchange Server 2007 CAS servers and Exchange Server 2010 SP1 CAS servers) in the Active Directory site:
    Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters
    Name: MaxFieldLength
    Type: DWORD
    Value data: 65534
    Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters
    Name: MaxRequestBytes

  • Client Push not working - Error 67, 5 & Install issues

    HI Everyone
I cannot push the CCM Client to our computers.  You can manually install ccmsetup.exe on the client, and everything works.  There are no firewall issues.  I can get to the admin$ drive from the server to the client.  But when I push down
the client, it comes up with error 67(---> ERROR: Unable to access target machine for request: "16777219", machine name: "CM-1208-O-CCB1",  access denied or invalid network path.)
The account I am using is a domain administrator, in the domain admin group.  The only way I can get push to work is to add our SCCM server to the clients admin group.  Then push works fine.
So its a permissions thing, but I can't figure out how to resolve it without adding our server to the domain admin group in AD.  We don't want to do this for security reasons.
We have not installed the Extended AD Schema; but I doubt that is the issue.
Can someone suggest something to help me fix this problem? What am I missing?
    Thanks
    Chad

Here is the most recent log.
The files copy over now, but nothing happens after that.  There is a WMI error, but I've disabled the firewall, and enabled remote WMI administration.  However, I do not think that is preventing it from installing.

  • Yahoo Push not working....I think.

    Greetings all.
    Got a yahoo account.
    I send it mail.
My Iphone does nothing...doesn't wake up or notify me. If I "wake" the phone, go to Yahoo Mail...hit refresh...then my phone gives me an alert right away.
Yahoo site support has not been too helpful. If someone has this figured out, I'd love to know. Didn't see anything in searches directly on point.
    Thanks

I'm also having problems with my Yahoo! Mail account, no push. I've called Apple and they don't have a resolution, as well as, emailing Yahoo! I have (3) Yahoo! accounts (1-Plus & 2-Free) and none of them are working.
My have something to do with Yahoo! servers. BeeJive is haveing probles with people not being able to connect with Yahoo! Messenger accounts in their app because of some updates to the Yahoo! Servers.
Hopefully there will be a fix soon. If anyone hears about one, please let us know. Thanks.

  • Mail push not working on iPhone 4

For some reason my mail and apps icon are not displaying the red circle badges that indicate how many unread mail/available app updates are present. I have to open up mail for it to update, after which point the red badge is displayed on the icon...Anyone else having this problem, and any possible solutions?

When email push stops working for me, I simply quit and then restart the Mail app and it starts working again. This works for both my Yahoo and Exchange accounts. Still, it seems there is obviously a problem that needs to be fixed (since most folks will purposely and/or inadvertantly leave the Mail app running all the time).
Btw, when I say "quit", I mean exit out of the Mail app (you can't quit an app that you are currently "in"), bring up the multitasking bar (double-click the Home button), enter jiggle mode (hold down any running app's icon and wait), and then press the minus sign on the running Mail app's icon.

  • Push not working on Verizon iPhone

I just got the iPhone on Verizon and got everything set up yesterday evening. I have a .mac mail account and set that up automatically. My email is set to "Push" and I thought that would mean that I would get the email on my phone shortly after it was received on the server. The only way I get mail is when I open the mail app on the phone. Any ideas as to why this is and what can be done to correct this?
    Thanks!

Same problem here. Got verizon iphone two days ago, set up google apps email with exchange (suppose to be push), it worked for about one hour and now the emails do not come in (it can take hours), eve when youcheck manually emails still do not come to the iphone. The emails are in my account on my computer but do not come on verizon iphone. I spoke wiyh a friend who has att iphone and he said that when googke syn started two years ago they had this problem but had it fixed right away, he has been using exchange with gmail for his att iphone for years with push email working perfactly......NEED HELP ASAP (otherwise will have to go back to my blackberry)

  • Push not working on iPhone 4 (Orange UK)

Anyone else having problems with this?
    Am I missing something obvious?
I've got Notifications turned to 'On' under settings but I don't seem to be getting any (none for Facebook, Gmail, Game Apps etc). The only time the a number in a red circle appears is when I manually open Mail, Facebook etc.
Anyone have any ideas? Could it be a problem with my network (Orange) not setting it up correctly their end?
    Cheers

  • IOS6 on iPhone 5 Email Push Not Working

Both my exchange and AOL are not pushing. iCloud is pushing properly. I also have another problem I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this either but none of my push notifications from facebook are playing a tone or vibrating. I have tried everything reinstalled app, went through all notifcation settings and everything. Still nothing, anyone else experiencing this?

iPhone 5 IOS 6.0.2 installed, now Yahoo email has stopped appearing without me checking manually.
I’ve tried deleting account, rebooting, re-adding account, rebooting and still no go.
I’ve validated that email does update only after I click the mail icon, then I see Connecting, Checking, Downloading and Updated with all the test emails upon completion.
I’ve validated settings for “Fetch New Data” showing “Push”.
“PUSH” slider is in ON position.
“Fetch New Data” “Manually” is checked for apps not supporting push
Advanced shows “Push” for iCloud and Yahoo.
“PUSH” is checked in both iCloud and Yahoo.
    What am I missing?
