Exchange TLS connection failing

Hello,
We have an Exchange 2003 SP2 server that up until recently was able to send encrypted messages to bankofamerica.com. Now the messages get stuck in the outbound delivery queue until they expire. I have confirmed that we are configured using all of the requirements
set forth by Bank of America but I still cannot get the messages through. I have successfully configured and sent out an email using TLS from our Exchange 2010 server, but need is to have the 2003 server send encrypted messages. Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated as I am starting to run out of ideas on what to check.
Thanks.

When integrate Lync and Exchange UM, you need to generate new certificate. The certificate should contain the server’s FQDN.

    In FF 37.0 getting secure connection failed connecting to a website. Works fine in previous version. Config parameter version.fallback-limit default setting is 3. In previous version the default setting was 1. Does the setting version.fallback-limit to 3 mean only TLS1.2 is supported. Any help is appreciated.
    Secure Connection Failed
    The connection to xxxx.xxx.com was interrupted while the page was loading.
    The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
    Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
    Thx,

    The website may try to fallback to TLS 1.0 in a way that is no longer allowed in current releases or may be using a deprecated cipher suite.
    You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar and use its search bar to locate this pref:
    *security.tls.insecure_fallback_hosts
    You can double-click the line to modify the pref and add the domain (full domain) to this pref.
    If there are already websites (domains) in this list then add a comma and the new domain (no spaces).
    You should only see domains separated by a comma in the value column.

  • Eap tls authentication fails if bluetooth device connected

    Hi All, I'm new to Macs but was tasked with getting a MacBook Air connected to our AD integrated, 802.1x wifi network. After a lot of trial and error with certificates I finally got this working but now have a rather bizarre problem. With the MBA on it's own it will connect to the wifi network, sucessfully authenticate and work perfectly well. However, if my Apple bluetooth mouse or keyboard are connected to the MBA the EAP-TLS authentication fails. A packet capture of the connection process shows that at the same point every time the process take a while then a packet shows as "Unknown Error Ignored", then loops thorugh the process. Turning off the keybpard and mouse at this point and the MBA will connect. Once connected I can then connect the keyboard and mouse and continue to stay connected for a while before, I assume, the AP forces a re-auth and the connection drops again.
    Has anyone come across this elsewhere?
    Thanks

    I have a Macbook Pro Retina 15" from 2012 and it has the same issue. Running 10.8.4. I have spent probably 5-6 hours trying to troubleshoot cert's network settings, did a complete fresh install (then restored from timemachine when that did not work) with no luck this solution worked but obviously is not a real solution as it should not confilct in this way. Great job on finding a workaround! I will be contacting apple about this ASAP under my applecare.

  • Failed TLS Connection to alternate SMTP Destination

    I have a typical Exchange 2003 environment, all outbound mail is directed to IronPort C100 for delivery. I have a need to encrypt some outbound email, and so I created a content filter that basically says if "secure:" is in the subject line, then send mail to alternate destination host. In testing this process, it seems as if all is well until ironport tries to contact the destination host. The mail log capture indicates the following:
    Info: New SMTP ICID 4561477 interface in/out (10.0.0.20) address 10.1.1.70 reverse dns host moex.uhcu.net verified yes

    One caveat is that the email encryption provider can only provide instructions for setting up a TLS Connection directly from Exchange 2003 to their SMTP Gateway using a SmartHost connection, which requires a username and password. Do I need to configure a username/password and somehow insert that into the TLS session from IronPort to the alternate SMTP Host?

    First let me say, I wish you would consider using the on-box IronPort/PostX email encryption available in the 5.5 release, in place of outsourcing this feature. I would be glad to demo this for you.
    In any case, here is the solution to your problem: (details found in the “Outgoing SMTP Authentication” section of the Advanced User Guide – online help.)
    Step 1) Create an Outgoing SMTP Authentication Profile (This is done under the Network -> SMTP Authentication menu.
    Step 2) Add or Edit a SMTP Route for the IP address of the "alternate destination host" you are connecting to, set the outgoing SMTP Authentication to use the profile created in step 1).
    Optional Step 3) email me and I can come by your office and help.

  • Exchange 2003 Removal fails w/ Error code 0X80072030 (8240): There is no such object on the server- pls read

    Dear all,
    I know there are quite some threads regarding this issue. But I've been looking at all of them w/o any solution for my problem. Here we go...
    I've followed all instructions for a Exchange 2003 to 2010 transition. All went fine to the point I'm trying to uninstall Exchange 2003 via Control Panel/Software/Remove. So far I did the following:
    1. Move mailboxes to Exchange Server 2010 using Move Mailbox Wizard or Powershell => successfully
    2. Rehome the Offline Address Book (OAB) generation server to Exchange Server 2010  => successfully
    3. Rehome Public Folder Hierarchy on new Exchange Server 2010 Admin Group  => successfully
    4. Transfer all Public Folder Replicas to Exchange Server 2010 Public folder store  => successfully
    5. Delete Public and Private Information Stores from Exchange 2003 server  => successfully
    6. Delete Routing Group Connectors to Exchange Server 2003  => successfully
    7. Delete Recipient Update Service agreements using ADSIEdit according to
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx => successfully
    8. Uninstall all Exchange 2003 servers => fails with "Error code 0X80072030 (8240): There is no such object on the server"
    I used the following articles while migrating to Exchange 2010:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833396/en-us
    http://www.simple-talk.com/content/article.aspx?article=882
    and several more.
    I looked into these forums regarding my problem and came up with:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283089/en-us
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931
    I investigated the following possible reasons:
    - homeMDB attribute (no references to my Exchange 2003 anymore)
    - HomeMDBBL attribute (as described here
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrmigration/thread/f0e3edd7-34e5-46b8-8061-1991aaffc30f) (no Information Stores available anymore as they have been successfully removed)
    - msExchHomeServerName attribute (all pointing to my new Exchange 2010 server)
    - the "famous" postmaster issue as described here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283089/en-us (pointing to the new Exchange 2010 server)
    In order to investigate all attribute related issues a utilized a VBS script resulting in an Excel sheet I was easily able to filter:
    SET objRootDSE = GETOBJECT("LDAP://RootDSE")
    strExportFile = "C:\temp\MyExport.xls"
    strRoot = objRootDSE.GET("DefaultNamingContext")
    strfilter = "(&(objectCategory=Person)(objectClass=User))"
    strAttributes = "sAMAccountName,msExchHomeServerName,homeMDB,legacyExchangeDN,givenName,sn," & _
                                    "initials,displayName,physicalDeliveryOfficeName," & _
                                    "telephoneNumber,mail,wWWHomePage,profilePath," & _
                                    "scriptPath,homeDirectory,homeDrive,title,department," & _
                                    "company,manager,homePhone,pager,mobile," & _
                                    "facsimileTelephoneNumber,ipphone,info," & _
                                    "streetAddress,postOfficeBox,l,st,postalCode,c"
    strScope = "subtree"
    SET cn = CREATEOBJECT("ADODB.Connection")
    SET cmd = CREATEOBJECT("ADODB.Command")
    cn.Provider = "ADsDSOObject"
    cn.Open "Active Directory Provider"
    cmd.ActiveConnection = cn
    cmd.Properties("Page Size") = 1000
    cmd.commandtext = "<LDAP://" & strRoot & ">;" & strFilter & ";" & _
                                       strAttributes & ";" & strScope
    SET rs = cmd.EXECUTE
    SET objExcel = CREATEOBJECT("Excel.Application")
    SET objWB = objExcel.Workbooks.Add
    SET objSheet = objWB.Worksheets(1)
    FOR i = 0 To rs.Fields.Count - 1
                    objSheet.Cells(1, i + 1).Value = rs.Fields(i).Name
                    objSheet.Cells(1, i + 1).Font.Bold = TRUE
    NEXT
    objSheet.Range("A2").CopyFromRecordset(rs)
    objWB.SaveAs(strExportFile)
    rs.close
    cn.close
    SET objSheet = NOTHING
    SET objWB =  NOTHING
    objExcel.Quit()
    SET objExcel = NOTHING
    Wscript.echo "Script Finished..Please See " & strExportFile
    What I did find is that all my Exchange enabled users have an legacyExchangeDN attribute that is still pointing to my Exchange 2003 organization:
    e.g. "/o=First Organisation/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=Administrator"
    Could this cause any problems?
    Now the in depth look into my "Exchange Server Setup Progress.log":

    Any help would be greatly appreciated as I absolutely don't know how to remove my Exchange 2003. Manual removal is not an option.
    Alex

    I kept on searching and found something else:
    http://www.outlookforums.com/threads/33038-cannot-uninstall-Exchange-2000
    It says that the following groups need to be resided in the AD's default "Users" organizational unit:
    - Exchange Domain Servers
    - Exchange Enterprise Servers
    - Exchange Services Group
    Unfortunately I cannot find the "Exchange Services Group". Does that have something to do with my problem?
    Furthermore I found out that the Exchange 2003 has been originally installed with SBS 2003 back in time. The SBS 2003 has then be migrated to a regular Windows Server 2003 infrastructure with 2 DCs. But there still is a load of stuff reminiscent of SBS
    2003 within the AD.
    Then I dug deeper into my AD using ADSIEdit. I found another attribute homeMTA that is pointing to a corresponding Exchange server. After adjusting my aforementioned VBS script a was able to look into that attribute as well. I found 2 users pointing to my old
    Exchange server within their homeMTA attribute.
    Furthermore I saw that when trying to uninstall Exchange 2003 there is no path to my installation anymore. It's empty:
    Another issue?
    Regards
    Alex

I have enabled static NAT on Expressway-E and give the Public IP on peer address of Expressway-C. At that time, i was getting DNS resolution error  on Expressway-C so we added a host record on local DNS for Public IP. Later, I created CSR from both Expressway C & E server and ask local microsoft team to issue Local CA certificates. After uploading, i was getting above error (Failed to establish TLS). Also i have uploaded company (wilcard) Public certificates (issued from Geotrust) and we are getting the samer error and Expressway server could not establish TLS connection on port 7001. Firewall connections are done and i double checked it.
    Expressway ver 8.2

    Yes, Exp-C > Peer Address (FQDN of Exp-E)
    Certificate of Exp-E -> When generating CSR from Exp-E, automatically FQDN (Exp-E(hostname).domainname.com) will be shown. Then this CSR will be send to local CA or Public CA to generate a certificate. OR you meant to say in Exp-E CSR we need to add FQDN of Exp-C server also in alternative name and vice versa too.
    Yes, root certificates & intermediate certificates are uploaded to trusted CA.

  • What do we change on windows server 2k8 iis7 to fix "Secure Connection Failed" that is appearing with version 37 and 37.0.1?

    We host https://www.prereg.net and the recent updates (version 37 and 37.0.1) have caused a "Secure Connection Failed" message to appear. We have contacted our hosting company and our SSL provider (geotrust) and neither of them are able to help with this issue. Can anyone tell us what we might need to alter on our server in order to fix this issue? We have a valid certificate and we have SSL3 and TLS 1.2 enabled.

  • BlueTooth File Exchange - cannot connect

    Hi all i did a search and found some good starting places and yet i still have my problem:
    Have been connecting to my cell phone flawlessly for file transfer via the "browse" menu, (a modded moto E815); recently had to do an Archive and Install, (which cleaned up a mess), and after everything was up and running, checked out BT File Exchange and it still worked flawlessly. A few days ago, i went to transfer a file and it starts, tries to connect, then i get the message: "Connection failed or closed". To add insult to injury, BTFE promptly crashes! Deleted pref files, made sure the Phone could connect via BT with other programs (which it does), and i don't have a clue... I tried reading the crash log file, and i can't make sense of it.... Any thoughts?
    Thanks for taking the time. PS: I deleted the phone's profile, went through and paired it again with no joy.
    Pismo G4/550;SuperDrive;BT Dongle;1GB RAM   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   upgraded CPU & Optical Drive!

    Have you tried this already?
    Follow the standard procedures for Mac OS X miracles:
    Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility > select your start up volume > First Aid > Repair Permissions
    Restart the your Mac with the Mac OS X installation CD or DVD (through holding the key C on the keyboard). There select your preferred language and then not install Mac OS X but go to the File menu and select Disk Utility. There select your normal volume > First Aid > Repair disk. Restart your Mac.
    System Preferences > Users and hit the small "+" at the bottom to create a new user. Select Log out from the Apple menu and log in this new user.
    If it worked in the new user, the problem is somewhere in a file in your users Library > Preferences folder.

    If you're trying to connect to a Bonjour server on the remote network, that won't work over a layer 3 VPN. Use something like Hamachi or one of the SSH-tunnelling Bonjour proxy apps for that.
