Exchange trying to resolve external e-mail addresses in local Active Directory
Hi
On all of my Mailbox Database servers, i'm getting the following warning in my Application log:
Level: Warning
Source: MSExchange Mid-Tier Storage
EventID: 2009
Message:
[Process:w3wp PID:6032 Thread:89] Error occurred while resolving the Active Directory object for from email address field: '[email protected]'. Audit log will not be generated for this case. Exception details:
Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ObjectNotFoundException: The Active Directory user wasn't found.

I have three Exchange Server 2013 MBX/CAS servers, and two Exchange Server 2013 Edge Transport servers in front of them.
As mentioned earlier, this warning is on all three of the MBX/CAS servers. The external e-mail address vary.
I've used the Get-MessageTrackingLog to debug, and I can see that this error comes when an internal user sends a "Meeting Forward Notification" to an external e-mail address. Exchange tries to resolve the external e-mail address in Active Directory
and throws this warning, for some reason.
Is there anyone that knows how to fix this?
Hi Allen
Sorry for the late reply.
1. No it's not. It gets the EventID "HADISCARD" and SourceContext "ExplicitlyDiscarded". Here's an example:
RunspaceId : a25e81b2-9f4a-49f2-895b-xxxxxxxxxxxx
Timestamp : 09-02-2015 13:01:02

2. Yes, and other mails are routed to our Edge Transport Servers, and from there to Office 365 (Exchange Online Protection). It's only occurs when sending Meeting Forward Notifications, Accepting meetings, and so fourth - and it all comes from Outlook 2013
clients (RPC over HTTPS).

I am trying to add another e-mail address to FaceTime, but do not want to change the e-mail address associated with my Apple ID. Everytime I try to add the e-mail address in my FaceTime settings, it send me a verification e-mail asking me to verify that I want to change to this new e-mail address for my apple ID. I do not. I just want to have an additional e-mail address for people to contact me via FaceTime. Does anyone know how to do this?
You can have multiple addresses associated with your apple id. You will have to verify any changes before they can be added and this is done by sending you an email. This is to protect you from someone else makeing changes to your account.
You can make any changes and view all your info here:

Trying to choose an e-mail-address Thunderbird always chooses another one. See: typing an "a" Thunderbird comes up with:" >> Zussie <[email protected]>" and: typing "g" Thunderbird says " >> Zussie <[email protected]>" .
Can Thunderbird be somewhat more precise? And how can I do that?
MaxThunderbird uses contains not begins with now.. so you will just need to type more of the address.
Or use the contact pane (F9) -
Mail Forwarding to Multiple external e-mail address
Hi,
i'm running SLS with a fairly basic set-up, just have one question about forwarding e-mail accounts.
From within WGM you can set a forward up to forward multiple e-mail accounts, but the e-mail doesn't get delivered to the accounts inbox. I have a user that would like a copy of her e-mail sent to her home e-mail address, but when she comes back to work, she would like to see them all in her inbox??
i have server side rules on, any help would be appreciated...
many thanksanyone?
even if its to say it can't be done?
thanks -
Outlook 2003 mail delivery failed for Active Directory user
Server 2003/Exchange2003
We are using an outside company (Integra) to handle our email and only use Exchange for shared archived email.
When configuring active directory users the wizard automatically sets up email entries in the format: [email protected]
When responding to a meeting invite from outlook to a local AD user, all users receive undeliverable messages for the accounts in the format [email protected] as below...
The example below was a bounce back when I accepted the invite. The invite shows up on my calendar just fine.

other is called Mailbox - UserName - populated with folder that are and always have been empty. If I send an email to myself at [email protected] I get the following bounce back.

Trying to paste pdf into mail and keep links active
I've created a pdf in iWork with active links. When I copy and paste it into Mail the links stop working. Anyone know how to keep the links active?
iMac Mac OS X (10.4.6)You attach pdfs to email. I have never met a pdf reader that works inside a mail client.
Links, inactive or not, are a separate problem. Under what circumstances do they not work for you? -

Messaging server attempts to search the LDAP server for the domain of the email address (in this case yahoo.com.hk) to see if it is a locally defined domain. As Chris already noted, you will see the "Temporary lookup failure" message if your LDAP server is not operating correctly or the MTA is performing an invalid query (an MTA configuration problem).
I suggest you review the access logs on your LDAP server to see if there are any errors reported.
You will also get additional debug logging by using the -debug switch with your earlier command e.g.
./imsimta test -rewrite -debug [email protected]
If I resolve the same mail address on mailstore host machine, it work.Is the mailstore host system pointed to the same LDAP server for address resolution?

We currently have a spam issue relating to the secondary SMTP e-mail addresses of all our Mail Users.
Example: Peter Smith has an AD account on our company.com domain and an associated external e-mail address ([email protected]) i.e. he has an AD account ([email protected]) with Mail User Exchange attributes so that he can logon
to our SharePoint server. However, this AD account also becomes a fully functional secondary SMTP address and all spam sent to [email protected] also gets forwarded to [email protected]
To mitigate this issue, I have added this secondary e-mail address to the "Recipient filtering properties > Block messages sent to the following recipients" in Hub Transport/Anti Spam.
Two questions:
1. Is there an easy way to delete the secondary SMTP addresses of mail users? I was unable to (it just reappeared shortly after deletion)
2. What is the PS command to export a list of all secondary SMTP e-mail addresses OF MAIL USERS and then adding this list to "Recipient filtering properties > Block messages sent to the following recipients". I could manually add them
in EMC but there are quite a few of them...
Many thanks for your help! Now that I understand what's happening, let me see if we can get a more accurate solution for you. So your mail users (Exchange calls them mail-enabled users, as opposed to mailbox enabled users, who have mailboxes) have SharePoint access (with the
@company.com address), but have actual mailboxes externally (the actual end-domain is inconsequential). You want users of these systems to stop receiving emails on the company.com namespace, but to receive them from only your SharePoint system.
A "textual diagram" is below:
SharePoint (to Exchange mailbox owner) ==> Exchange hub (using company.com) ==> Exchange mailbox
SharePoint (to External mail user) ==> Exchange hub (using company.com) ==> Exchange mail contact ==> External system (using external SMTP address
External Messaging system (to External mail user, using company.com address used by SharePoint) ==> Exchange hub =XX=> Block delivery
You wish to stop the third of these from happening. If your SharePoint system used non-routable addresses (such as company.local) and all of your mail users had only these addresses added to their accounts for internal mail precossing (as the
internal name used by Exchange), this would solve your issue. The question becomes how to deploy this sort of address.
If these are the ONLY mail contacts in your organization, the solution is simple - you almost had it above, but may have missed seeing it. Policies are applied on a priority basis, with the default policy applying only if no others apply. Since
these accounts are considered "Contacts with external e-mail addresses", you can create a policy for your entire organization that handles only these accounts. You don't need to apply it to a single OU, if your mail enabled accounts aren't
in a single OU. (If they are, of course, feel free to apply it only there.) You can create the policy and apply it to the organization, but only to those objects that are "Contacts with external e-mail addresses". That way, it won't
affect any of your Exchange mailboxes (current or future).
Does this help?
(BTW, one minor correction - your third statement about mail contacts is incorrect - Exchange sees no major difference between mail contacts and mail enabled accounts - and in my experience they are both addressable by the internal address.) -
Please help. I changed my apple id password and now cannot use facetime and my icloud continues to prompt me for my password and I continue to give it but, I repeatedly am prompted for the password unless I cancel the icloud. I have tried changing my password back to the password I had before and this did not work. I have tried to use another e-mail address for facetime and had verified that e-mail address and this did not work. I do not know how to fix this problem. I have thought about changing my apple id but am not sure how I would be able to carry over the same credit card number to the new apple ID. I loved my Mac book Pro because I could facetime my boyfriend while I am working away and now I cannot. I am starting to hate Mac.
The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

I have been trying to find an e-mail address for Apple problems that are not on your list of questions usually asked. Could you therefore let me have an e-mail address for being able to sort a problem I have with i-tunes purchasing for audo books as I by mistake downloaded a book instead of an audio book and would like a refund for The One I Love by Paul Pilkington so that I can download the audio book. This is the first time that I have used this facility and I obviously got confused with books and audio books, I need audio books because I have an I Pod Nano and I like to listen to my books on this. Look forward to your reply.

Outlook 2010 Distribution Group contact member "Al" is not showing an email address. In Active Directory "Al" is showing an email address but it's not a SMTP email address that is created when you add a new Mail contact using EAC.
When the DG owner sends out an email using DG email account, the mail bounces back as undeliverable.
Exchange Admin Center is not showing the member. The only way to fix the member is by deleting the contact. Re-add contact in EAC then add to Distribution Group. We have over 30 DGs that are missing the SMTP email addresses.
Can a Powershell command fix this issue or is there a sync issue between AD and Exchange?Hi,
From your description, the contact you specified should be contact not mail contact. Contact and mail contact are two different things. If you create a contact in ADUC, you need to mail-enable it and then set the primary SMTP address for it.
For more information, here is an article for your reference.

I have tried to set up an 'external' e-mail address I purchased sometime ago and used with my BT/Yahoo account for many years.
Since the change over to BT Mail I cannot send messages from this e-mail account, although I do receive them.
I have followed the instruction..ie..Settings ..Mail...Accounts...Add ect all to no avail..
In addition when I want to send an e-mail from this address there is no drop down option to access it.
Complete disaster
Any assistance would be welcomedObviously 'NOT" or I would not of asked for assistance...Only occurred after the change over !!!!!!

I tried to download my e-mail address to thunderbird, but the spelling of the domain was wrong. I then added the e-mail account with a correctly spelled name. Now I have two e-mail accounts and it keeps trying to connect with the wrong one. I need to get it deleted from the account.
From the menu bar select Tools-Account Settings
Select the account to remove.
At the bottom of the account list select Account Actions-Remove Account

No Texting Ability with BES/Multiple e-mail addresses - BB 8900
Hello all,
1. I recently dumped my iPhone and switched to the BB 8900, all is well except I use my BB for work and my company disabled my text message feature and IM feature. I am able to receive text messages but I can no longer respond. Any ideas on how to begin sending text with enterprise software, either through an app or through the web?
2. I have Microsoft Exchange Outlook as my default e-mail address. From the gentlemen I spoke with in my office they notified me I could only use my outlook e-mail(corporate). Although, I spoke with our Tech office and they notified me some individuals can have a second e-mail address. How would I be able to add an extra e-mail (Yahoo!).
Sorry if my questions are elementary but I appreciate any helpful information. Thank You,
MikeHi Michael and welcome to the Blackberry Forums
If you can't send SMS is because your IT guys block the function, and you can't change this.
You have a setup mail icon on the device?, if yes, try setting the yahoo mail from this icon, i think you have blocked too, but try..............
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.
If your issue has been solved, please mark the post was solved. -
