Lookup Name : Lookup.Exchange.MailboxDatabase (default)
Object Type : __MAILBOXDATABASE__ (default)
Resource Object Name : Exchange User
Is there any incorrect parameter?

Everything looks correct, all parameters have been provided correctly. Check values in "Exchange IT Resource" before executing scheduler.

Hi All. I am currently at the later stage of provisioning a new CCR Exchange 2007 migration (to
virtualise old Exchange 2007 hardware) for 5,000 users & have a quick question.
I have created around 15 newly named storage groups, & have named 1 new DB per group, with the same name (let's say New-DB-1), residing within them. The problem I have, is the old legacy DB's have different names (let's say Old-DB-1) & I need
to import them into the new storage groups, to match the new names. So far I can import/export between old & new OK if both old & new DB names\folders etc. names marry up perfectly, but are unable to if there not the same. Does anyone have any thoughts
on how best to tackle this, as this is one of the final hurdles stopping the migration? Many Thanks, John

Many Thanks for the feedback.
The terminology 'migrate' was used based around the fact I will be decommissioning the old 2007 physical environment. This is after moving all DB's over to the new newly created Virtual environment that will host all roles.
The solution I ended up using yesterday, was the following:
1) Dismounted the relevant named DB (NEWDB) in the new environment.
2) I then ticked the 'This database can be overwritten by a restore option' box.
3) Copied over the old named DB (OLDDB) to the same location, & overwrote using the new name (NEWDB).
4) Re-mounted the (NEWDB).
5) Ran the following 2 PowerShell commands:
Get-mailbox –database OLDDB | move-mailbox –targetdatabase NEWDB -configurationonly:$true
Get-MailboxDatabase NEWDB | ResetSearchIndex.ps1 -force
6) Checked to make sure the clients were working ok, in the now the new (NEWDB) environment.

Specifying separate UNC path for Exchange Archive Mailbox Database

Hi All,
In Exchange Server 2013 SP1, is it possible to specify UNC path to a separate hardware appliance ?
In this case I'd like to create the Archive mailbox database on the CIFS share hosted by EMC Data Domain to perform the hardware based data deduplication & compression.
Does this path must also be accessible on the DAG passive node in DR data center ?

most Scenarios are not supported while there is still some Scenario where you can use shares.
"If access to a disk resource requires that a share be mapped, or   if the disk resource appears
as a remote server by means of a Universal Naming   Convention (UNC) path
(for example,   \\servername\sharename)   on the network, the disk storage system is not supported
as a location for   Exchange Server databases. "
This is also true for the Arcive DB.
Please note that UNC directly with Exchange 2013 is possible with limited support only, and no
version of Exchange allows you to store databases on an UNC path (except the one when you map
SMB 3.0 shares to a VM) :

(Please also note the recommendation not to use deduplication by the storage.)
Don't try to do that, because even if you configure that you will run into a non-supported situation.
I strongly suggest you to avoid that.

There is the reasons discussed why not to use UNC for your databases. (Don't worry, they start discussion with NFS)
The presentation shown on 21:43 is what you need to think about when planning to use UNC resources.
Storing an Exchnage DB on UNC is not supported.

My understanding is that Exchange Server 2010 onwards doesn't have data deduplication.
How about mapping the UNC path as mapped network drive ?

Exchange 2010 - mailbox database in a DAG different sizes

After a recent health check on our Exchange 2010 (SP3) environment I noticed that our mailboxes databases in the DAG, which consists of 4 Exchange Servers, had used
different capacity.
Could someone why the mounted database and the 3 healthy copies are not the same size?

Based on your description, the active database and passive database have different size.
Apart from Willard Martin's suggestions, please update database copy using the following command and then check result.
Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity DB -SourceServer activeserver
Please make sure the passive databae copy has healthy state.

I can't either mount for remove Exchange 2010 mailbox database file

Yesterday I proceeded with moving Exchange 2010 database file to a newly installed hard drive because my "C" drive was running out of space. After dismouting both the mailbox database and the public folder database, I used EMC's "move
data path" wizard to move both the mailbox database and public folder database to "mailbox" folder in "D" drive. The move was successful without an error, but when I opened "mailbox" folder in "D" drive, both
the database file and public folder database files weren't there. All the other files were moved, but the mailbox database file was gone.
Luckily I manually copied entire mailbox folder to another folder in "D" drive. So I manually copied mailbox database file (it is about 20GB) to "d:\mailbox". When I try to mount, I received the following error message.

When I try to move the database path back to the original path, I received the following error message.

If the database was fine pre move I doubt it needs a repair, however if you want to validate do an eseutil /mh ReplaceWithYourDatabaseName.edb and post the results here
did you move the logs as well or are they still in same location
I have seen this before if everything is where its supposed to bea restart fixed it so I would recommend that you put the DB back into the NEW D path and do a restart to see if that resolves the issue

Microsoft Exchange Server/Exchange 2010/Mailbox/Database Copy Mounted

Good Morning everyone!!!
I Have SCOM 2007 R2 CU5 Envoirnment and i am monitoring Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP1 Messaging infrastracture,
I have Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP1 Monitoring MP, MP version is 14.2.71.0.
Case:-
When exchange is having issue with DAG, SCOM monitoring rule:- KHI: The database copy is not mounted on the local server. Another database copy may be mounted on a different server.
is generating the alert but alert Description is only " _ef4a8515_1cc0_48a9_aa12_92ba059a6eae_ " and rest of the things are blank
and because of this ticketing team is unable to process these alerts,
Impact:-
Whenever DAG is unavailable, messaging team is not getting notification and because of this. Exchange services are failing down,
Does anyone having this kind of issues on their exchange environment?
I am looking solution for this issue, please let me know if anyone is aware about this.

Import Exchange 2010 Mailbox Database .edb into Exchange 2013

My Exchange 2010 server recently crashed I am in the process of setting up a new 2013 server. Is it possible to import the .edb file from my old server to the new server to recover the mailboxes?

Exchange Add Mailbox Database Copy fails.

I'm recovering from a server failure on my Exchange System and while I've been able to rebuild the server an integrate it into the Exchange System and the DAG. When I attempt to replicate any of the databases, it fails. Thanks for the response. I am holding off on using Eseutil or Isinteg for now as I may have finally found the problem.
I was reading another forum yesterday where someone else was getting many of the same errors and everyone responding was telling them the same thing, to check the database as it seemed to have some corruption. Then there was one post at the very bottom where
a guy said he had the same problems but found it was an incompatibility with Exchange 2010 and the Windows Serve Backup Command-line Tools for Server 2008. He removed the Command-line Tools and the problem was resolved. Since we do not use the Windows Serve
Backup, we use Backup Exec, I decided to give it a try. I removed the Command-line Tools and reseeded the database. It has been running since about 12:30 PM yesterday with no errors at all. I'm not claiming victory yet as I stated in my original post that
it has at times run for up to 5 days before failing. I will monitor it for the next week and keep my fingers crossed that the issue has been resolved. I will report back if it fails before then and if not I will consider the issue resolved and post to
the thread.
If this does in fact turn out to be the solution it is just another instance of Microsoft dropping the ball as I was only able to find this mentioned once on their website in a thread about Exchange logs not truncating. I would find it rather annoying their
Server backup software is incompatible with their Mail program and even more annoying that they have not acknowledged the issue. I have been fighting this for months and only found the solution by a stroke of luck. I will update accordingly.

Exchange 11g connector : error with 2003 mailbox databases

Hi,
I have installed the Exchange 11g connector in a OIM 11g R2 server. I successfully ran the "Exchange User Mailbox Database Group Lookup Reconciliation" job and recon-ed a mailbox for a specific user (Exchange 2010 mailbox) account using the "Exchange Target Resource User Reconciliation".
But the fun stops there, when I try the execute the "Exchange Target Resource Delete User Reconciliation" job, I get the following error (see #1) in the result. I don't have any new event in the Event viewer. When I check the connector server I see a similar error (see #2). I tried to manually run the powershell command with the connector server user and it works properly (see #3).
The problem seems to be related the Exchange 2003 mailboxes, since when I try to recon a mailbox for a user with a 2003 mailbox, I get a similar "database not found" error. There again, if I check the same user using the service account, I can get it's mailbox.
Any idea what might be the problem ? Any more debugging I can try ?

Reseed one Exchange 2013 server databases housing 15 mailbox databases (mailboxes) - NO DAG

I have one exchange server with fourteen server databases. One these server databases is housing 15 mailbox databases (user mailboxes databases) of these fifteen mailbox DB's all have the same search problem in both the inbox and
sent items. They all have the problem in outlook 2010 on their desktop and in Outlook Web APP - Everything I read refers to suggests a reseed of the database, since its effecting all 15 mailboxes in one server database I'm thinking I have to reseed
the one server database a DAG copy - again everything I read refers to a copy /DAG - I don't have a DAG.

Hi,
If you don't have DAG, you need to follow the steps below to rebuild content index.
1. Stop the Microsoft Exchange Search and Microsoft Exchange Search Host Controller services.
2. Delete, move, or rename the folder that contains the Exchange content index catalog.
3. Restart the Microsoft Exchange Search and Microsoft Exchange Search Host Controller services.

Archive user mailbox when the user database near to limit

Hello Dear,
I have deployed a exchange server 2013 in my organization with dag solution.Also I have deployed another exchange server 2013 with only mailbox role for archiving user mail box.Now want to create a rule or a retention policy which is like as :-
1.A user mailbox database size limit is 2 GB when mailbox size near to 1.5 GB mail will archive.
Please suggest me or show me the way how can I do this ?

Cisco 5 with Exchange 2010 and Database Availability Groups

Unity 5 was installed a long time. Recently installed with the latest ES88 to the system. The fact is we have Exchange 2007 (clustered) mailbox server in the network environment, and introduced the Exchange 2010 (with DAG activated).
So far we didn't do any "re-partnering" from the Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. The end users are working fine by leaving voice message and can retreive their voice without too much issue, no matter where the End Users account are located, Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010.
But lately, there was some actions taken in the Exchange environment. Some Exchange 2010 mailstore databases in one of the Exchange 2010 server, with DAG has been activated.
In this case, we are now unable to leave any voice messages to the end usrs. All the voice messages are now being held in C:\CommServer\UnityMTA.
Want to ask, does Unity 5 and Exchange 2010 compatible with DAG? Also, is that my problem is caused by re-partnering server not taken place? If yes, which Exchange 2010 mailbox database server I should point to? Reason is, there will have 3 physical servers, and with several DB mailstore, if I select one of the physical server, and one of the D mailstore, will this be affected when the DAG is activated?

If you're referring to integrating Microsoft Exchange 2010 with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) 5.x for voicemail purposes, via a SIP Trunk, then you could certainly have a go at it (a Media Termination Point would be required and the codec would be G.711). However, I'm not aware of anyone having properly tested it with CUCM 5.x; given that it's not having software maintenance releases written for it anymore. CUCM 5.0 stopped having software maintenance releases written for it in June 2009, and CUCM 5.1 in February this year.

Enable-Mailbox: provisioning without -Database attribute (balance across mailbox databases)

We have a 16 Exchange 2013 Mailbox Databases. Of those 16, 12 have been 'Excluded from Provisioning'.
We are trying to come up with a script or at least command to enable-mailbox for existing AD user accounts.
The question is, we want the enable-mailbox command to balance or randomly create mailboxes across databases and not just on one specific database.
Can this be done?

From your description, I would like to clarify the following thing:
Automatic distribution is used when you don't specify the Database parameter on the Enable-Mailbox cmdlet. This process randomly distributes mailboxes across all of the suitable mailbox databases in your organization.
If you also want the mailboxes to be distributed to the other 12 databases, you can run the cmdlet below to set the IsExcludedFromProvisioning to $false for them.
Set-MailboxDatabase <database name> -IsExcludedFromProvisioning $false

Replay transaction logs to a new empty mailbox database

My Exchange 2010 mailbox database got corrupted and do not really have a good backup to recover from and it is not a DAG too.
Using eseutil log files are good but if I do soft recovery, it complains of a missing log file. Going through the log files it is just one file that is missing and even checking the creation date for this file at that time the server was offline because
we were relocating.
Soft recovery has not been successful.
I want to try hard recovery but do not know how much data will be lost. Or better still is there a way to replay log files of the corrupted database into the new database and continue from there?

Without having a good backup, you can not ensure about the security of data that would be recovered.
If you have an old backup of the database and all transaction log files since that backup then you can restore everything up to the last transaction log file.
If you want to do it in the RSG then you can copy all transaction log files from the production storage group to the log file directory of the RSG, then restore you last backup and let the backup program mount the database. Exchange will automatically replay

If you still unable to recover the data manually, you may consider on this automated software (http://www.exchangeserverrecovery.com/) that might be helpful to recover the data without any losses and resolve
