Exchange2010 SP3 RU4, database in a DAG setup fail error 3145

We are an Exchange 2010 sp3 ru4 running on a hybrid Physical(MB servers) virtual (CAS/HUB servers) with 6 DBs' inonw DAG in a single site with local witness server.
We experienced a failure on one of the DBs wit an error 3145 "
Incremental seeding of database xxx\MB01 encountered an error. A
full reseed is required. Error: The Microsoft Exchange Replication service failed
to determine if the log files in database 'xxx' are divergent from
the source copy on server 'xxx.xxx.local'. Error: There is not enough
space on the disk."
There is no issue with the disk space for the databases or logs or local drives for either MB servers!
I have initiated a suspend and fail for the DB in discussion and initiated a manual seed from the good (only) copy.
I want to know though, which disk is detected here with not enough space? could it be that MSExchangeRepl service couldn't get the disk usage report from AD in due time and decided to fail the copy
and activate the other?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Upgrade Exchange 2010 from SP2 to SP3 RU4

We are planning to upgarde Exchange 2010 SP2 servers with stretched dag across 2 AD sites to SP3 RU4.
I have few questions.
1. We are planning to Upgrade HUB/CAS servers in both the sites in first week.
2. Then we are planning to upgrade mailbox servers in the next week in both sites.

Do you think this is a good approach. Can some one please share best pratices document as we are using F5 load balancing.

Vishwanath's suggestions are pretty helpful. Besides that, we should make sure that the update process should be managed to prevent all of the DAG members from being offline at the same time.

The frequency of these errors varies and it definitely seems to be related to the amount of traffic. Over the weekend it only occured about 5-10 times a day. For the past couple of days, it's been pretty constant about every 15 minutes or
so all day.
I've looked this up, but I've only found a few posts mentioning similar errors, all relating to earlier versions of Exchange 2010. Supposedly this problem was fixed in one of the rollups to SP1 or SP2, I think. I never saw these errors, though,
until the SP3 RU4 rollup. I haven't heard any complaints from users, but I'm concerned that this might escalate and start causing noticeable searching issues.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

We're getting the same error as you on Exchange 2010. We have exchange 2010 and exchange 2013 running in a coexisting environment. Since we applied Service Pack 1 for Exchange 2013, we've had nothing but issues!
I've tried the rebuild of the index catalogues by following these instructions:

This failed to resolve the issues too. We've rebooted the server, restarted all the search services and still nothing! We're pulling our hair out here!
The only thing I haven't tried is the prepareAD commands in this post:

Moving Exchange 2010 Mailbox replicated databases path in DAG environments.

I’m trying to get some feedback on the topic of moving Exchange 2010 Mailbox replicated databases path in DAG environments.
Here is the situation: I currently have a 3-Node DAG (Node 1 and Node 2 are in my main datacenter, and Node 3 in my Disaster Recovery (DR) site in a remote location.
I have DB copies in Node 2 and Node 3. The thing is that the DB copies in Node 2 are in an older storage box and since we got a new storage box, I need to move the DBs and related logs of Node 2 to the new storage box
I have found some information about how to deal with this (below I’m listing a KB link) but I would like to reconfirm a couple of things to make sure I’m understanding this correctly
Move the Mailbox Database Path for a Mailbox Database Copy:

According to the KB: “If the mailbox database being moved is replicated to one or more mailbox database copies, you must follow the procedure in this topic to move the mailbox
database path”
Would this apply to my case even when I’m moving the BDs copies and Logs on Node 2 as opposed to Node 1 where the source DBs are?
On step #3 in the procedure, you are supposed to “Remove all mailbox database copies for the database being moved. After all copies are removed, preserve the database and transaction log files from each server from which the database copy is being removed
by moving them to another location. These files are being preserved so the database copies do not require re-seeding after they have been re-added.”
Then in Step # 7, you are supposed to “Add all of the database copies that were removed in Step #3”
As far as I know, when you add a copy of a database, Exchange creates the copy DB and starts to seed the replica servers with an up to date copy of the DB and all the current transaction logs at that point…according to the instructions
above, you are supposed to re-add the DB copied we preserved...does it mean that we need to wait for the DBs seed process to finish after “adding the DB copy” and then replace the new DBs copies and logs created by the “Add database copy” function with the
DB and logs preserved in Step #3?

Hi there,
What the article is stating is that once you have removed the copies you can keep the existing transaction log files and database edb file to allow you not to have to do a full seed. You can do this by using the -seedingpostponed parameter in
Add-MailboxDatabaseCopy
However, and quite honestly, if your database isn't that big and your are not worried about performing a full copy of the database again to the other DAG members once you have moved your database to its preferred new location, just add the copy in the normal
way and remove the legacy files afterwards.

Requirement
Need move Production Exchange setup along with DAG configuration to a new location.
IP Addresses for servers and DAG setup will change
No change in Server name and DNS names
During production server movement Mail services will be activated from DR Site
Need help in planning and executing the IP Address change/DAG Change

Exchange 2010 - mailbox database in a DAG different sizes

After a recent health check on our Exchange 2010 (SP3) environment I noticed that our mailboxes databases in the DAG, which consists of 4 Exchange Servers, had used
different capacity.
Could someone why the mounted database and the 3 healthy copies are not the same size?

Based on your description, the active database and passive database have different size.
Apart from Willard Martin's suggestions, please update database copy using the following command and then check result.
Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity DB -SourceServer activeserver
Please make sure the passive databae copy has healthy state.

Exchange 2010 - Dismount Mail Database on a DAG

Hi All,
I'm experiencing an issue in which 2 Mail Databases out of 3 within a DAG are not truncating the log files after a full backup, so for those 2 I currently have Circular Logging turned on.
I spoke with an outside Exchange source that recommended trying to dismount the Mail Databases and bounce the Information Store on both Mailbox Servers. To give it a "fresh start."
Here's what was recommended:
Get-MailboxDatabase -Server mbx* | dismount-Database
get-service -computername mbx1 msexchangeIS | restart-service
get-service -computername mbx2 msexchangeIS | restart-service
Get-MailboxDatabase -Server mbx* | mount-Database
I have to be honest. I've never really had to dismount the Mail Databases in a DAG before. Has anyone else - if so, does the above seem okay to you?

Hi,
Agree with Andy. You can dismount a database in a mailbox server, a member of a DAG, which is similar as what you do for a mailbox server that is not a DAG member.
Full and Incremental backups will truncate the transaction log files, please make sure your backup is one of these two types.
If a server hosting the data being backed up is a member of a DAG, and this server hosts both active and passive database copies, we must disable the Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS writer.
So, please check if you have disabled the Exchange Replication VSS writer.
Besides, to narrow down the issue that the transaction log files were not truncated after backup, I recommend you check the application log to see if there is any related events.

Oracle 11G database for 64 bit windows installation error

Hi,
I downloaded the 11G 64bit for windows and unzipped the files into one folder and ran the setup.exe as an administrator. It opened up the java screen and I chose, create and configure a database. Next screen I chose, Desktop Class, when I click next it dies. It does not show me teh next screen. I went to the appdata folder and saw this error but not sure what to do EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005). Please help. Thanks for your time and help.

I have been doing Oracle DBA work since v 7.3, and have never seen advice like this to be anything more than a work-around the real issue.

I'm trying to install the full featured driver for my psc-1315xi on two WinXP Pro PCs.
The first one worked perfectly.
On the second one, when I run the downloaded exe, I get the "Extracting" message, but when it goes up to 100%, the setuup window never opens. And no error messages are displayed. I poked around and found a log file that was produced. It includes the following:
GetValueByLang( f->c_str(), _T(Version), _T(LanguagesInthisCD) failed
System LangID = 1033. mapped to ENU
## The system language is ENU, but it isn't on our CD!
## We couldn't figure out a language to use, and are returning FALSE from CICECmdLine::GetLanguage()!

Setup returning 1603

I think I may have solved this problem.
I have a Windows XP Pro (SP3) PC that was experiencing this issue.
Immediately after the "extracting" window went to 100% and closed, nothing happened. The software installer/setup windows never displayed.
Each time I tried it created a log file that started with this:
Parsed command line: ".\Setup.exe"
Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf
## GetValueByLang( f->c_str(), _T(Version), _T(LanguagesInthisCD) failed
System LangID = 1033. mapped to ENU
## The system language is ENU, but it isn't on our CD!
There were other error messages after that, but they all stem from lines 3 and 5.
Something was preventing the setup program from recognizing that the ENU language files ARE present in this download.
By comparing two PCs, one with the problem, and one that worked just fine, I saw that the one that was failing had AutoRun disabled via a registry setting. I temporarily removed this from the registry on the PC that was failing and the setup launched and ran like it was supposed to. Here are the first few of that log file from the same PC, a few minutes later, where the only difference was that I had removed the offending registry setting:
Parsed command line: ".\Setup.exe"
Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf
System LangID = 1033. mapped to ENU
We are using the system language=ENU, which is on our CD!
As you can see, the "(LanguagesInthisCD) failed" message (Line 3) has disappeared, and line 5 (now line 4) shows that it succeeded in recognizing that the ENU language setup files are present.
So, if you are experiencing this problem and you are comfortable working with the system registry, here's how I got it to work on my PC:
Start regedit
Navigate down this tree
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- - SOFTWARE
- - - Microsoft
- - - - Windows NT
- - - - - CurrentVersion
- - - - - - IniFileMapping
Below that, look to see if there is a key named "Autorun.inf"
On my PC (the one with this problem) the value for this key was "@SYS: DoesNotExist"
If your registry has this also, it may be the cause of your problem.
In the left pane of regedit, right click on Autorun.inf and select "Rename" from the popup menu.
Change the name to something like "Autorun.inf.hold"
Close regedit
At this point I rebooted my PC, but I don't know if that it actually required.
I ran the downloaded driver file. It extracted, and the setup program started like it was supposed to.
When that was done, I went back into regedit and renamed "Autorun.inf.hold" back to "Autorun.inf"
This was enormously frustrating for me, and (if you need it), I hope this solution works for you.

Event:4133 "Database one datacenter health check failed". and Event:4376 "Database one datacenter available copy health check failed"

Hi.
I got two DAG nodes with CAS role installed. Sudently i get this failures on both nodes. This happens for all databases. I have tried do Seed the DB, with no luck
I run the The CheckDatabaseRedundancy.ps1 script and this seems OK.

Metadata Management Setup connection error

I'm trying to install BO Metadata Management (3.0) over a BO XI R3.1, to try it's features and testing.
After the setup launch of "Metadata Management" I fill my credentials to log on to BO CMS, but the setup fails with "Test connection failed" error, without giving any further error details. The BO is functioning, I can logon with the same credentials to CMC, InfoView and so on.
As a result the setup program aborts.
Can anyone give some help on installing Metadata Management with BO XI R3.1, or had the same error?

It seems that I am facing the same problem when I am trying to install BOMM XI 3.1 (12.1) on top of BOE XI 3.1 SP3.? I am sure that the connection information is correct. Who can help out here?

Cant Setup SP2 for Forefront Crypt Init Failed error 0x80090016

Hi guys,
im trying to implement TMG SP2 on our accept servers.
The current situations is as follows:
1 EMS server, 1 Internal Array (2 servers) 1x external array (2 servers). Logging is done in a separate SQL server Database.
Current Version is TMG 2010 enterprise Update 1 Rollup 4.
Array is proxy chained upwards.
Ive succesfully upgraded the EMS server to the new version.
When installing SP2 on the first server in the internal array (Reporting server) the setup crashes at the action

ive corrected the NTFS permissions on the folder C:\Programdata\microsoft\crypto\rsa\machinekeys.
restarted the server. Protected storage service is running, the server can contact other servers.
Can anyone give me a hint. I need to upgrade the rest of the servers before i can do this in production environment

i have the same problem on one TMG 2010 Server with SP2 and trying to install the hotfix rollups...
Looks like my permissions on the machine key directory is correct. how to confirm ?
