Apple at this time does not take trade-ins and if you exchange your current iPhone, either in or out of warranty, Apple will only give you an identical model. In a few countries Apple does work with a company who will give you some return on an existing device; for the US, see:

Similar programs are available in a few other countries, and some dealers may have their own trade-in programs. But you most probably can get more for your device if you sell it yourself.

What SIM card are you trying to insert? Are you sure it's the right size? Iphone 6 takes nano SIM size.

I want to replace the screen of my iPhone 4. The Apple store in Bristol will only replace the entire Phone for £119. Any suggestions? I could do it myself but I'm not sure about using non OEM replacement screens.

You can look for 3rd party repair shops, but they will also be using non OEM parts.

Can I also switch to my own contract? I am on my parents plan as of right now, and need to go to my own contract. If I get an iPhone 5 at an Apple Store, can I switch my contract to my own at the Apple Store? Would they be able to do that for me? Or is that something that only Verizon can do? I think it wouldn't work this way, but I just want the iPhone 5 already, and cannot wait!
Or could I go to a Radioshack or Walmart or Target to buy an iPhone 5 and have them switch to my contract? Again, high hopes, but just asking.

I have tried the new SIM card with other phones and it is okay. Originally I was with Vodafone and have recently moved to GiffGaff as I reached the end of my contract. The iPhone won't start up instead it says "Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier's store to receive a replacement SIM card."Although my number has been ported across I place the old SIM back in the iPhone and it starts up. Can anyone offer any advice?

Apple sell unlocked but they will also sell an iPhone with a contract
especially back in iPhone 4 days
If you purchased fron an Apple Retail store ( Apple owned) and paid
full price it should be unlocked as your Apple receipt should show
If not , it is locked but (if in UK ) Vodafone do offer unlocking .
Do a deep search of their site and you will find guidance not easy to find

As Ethmoid says, it is still a CDMA phone as I told you earlier, and it will not work with t-mobile. Even if Sprint unlocked the phone, it would only unlock the GSM side for international use. They will not unlock the GSM side for domestic use in the US.

Take it to an authorized service center or Apple Store in the country where the phone originated. Apple does not sell iPhones in Pakistan, nor will they ship them to Pakistan.

No, they won't. If the phone won't turn on at all, the only way to even attempt to get information off the flash drive would be to turn the whole thing over to one of those data recovery firms like DriveSaver. You're looking at a couple of thousand dollars, at least.
