Hello everyone ,I'm studying the ways of importing/exporting metadatas from BO to various softwares from other editors.I found that a standard called CWM let you exchange metadatas through XML files.But with Data Integrator XI, you can only import/export tables and associations... with Designer XI, you can only create a univers from a CWM file (it only imports the tables).
I saw that we can import/export univers, ETL objects in a ATL file. What is it? Is it only usable with BO products?Is there a way of exporting BO objects to CWM files?Can i do that with MetaData Manager (i don't have it, can i get a trial version?)?I know MIMB can exchange metadatas, but is there other software?
Well, that's a lot of questions!

  • Documents in MetaData repository

    Hello All,
    As part of our systemdocumentation we store technical documents in HTML format with BW objects, like InfoProvider, InfoObject etc. These documents are then visible in the metaData repository. Dose anyone know if it is possible to transport these documents across the system landscape or do we have to upload the documents in every seperate system (dev, QA and PRD) again?

    Hi,
    Using the function area Transport Connection in the Administrator Workbench, you can exchange metadata between different systems. You can find additional information under Exchanging Metadata in XMI Format.

  • Federation using weblogic as an IDP and OIF as a SP(service Provider)

    Hi,
    I am facing some problem during SAML creation.
    I am using weblogic as an Identity Provider and Oracle Identity federation (OIF) as a service Provider. The federation will be IDP(weblogic) initiated.
    I have configured both sides , published metadata and exchanged.
    Is there any out of box feature of weblogic by which we can use SAML after configuration only or we need to write a separate java code(Login page.jsp etc) in order to create login page and using the entire configuration which I made in weblogic.
    I am using OIF as service provider . I have Exchanged metadata of OIF and weblogic as part of building trust between IDP and SP.
    IF I had used OIF at both sides in that case my job would be pretty easy (cause OIF is specifically built for this purpose. But our requirement is different as I have to use weblogic as an IDP).
    What URL I need to hit for SAML if there is out of box feature in weblogic for using SAML(after configuring everything in weblogic).

    Weblogic itself does not have an identity provisioning store, you will have to employ a provisioning mechanism.

    I'm currently planning a project for an intranet-based OLTP
    system to be designed using Oracle Designer. Initially the
    users will all have WinNT desktops and laptops, but there is a
    move towards Psion palmtops and/or smartphones, so the
    flexibility of XML/XSL is very appealing.
    Designer permits the generation of PL/SQL packages to produce
    HTML applications. Are there plans to include an option to
    similarly generate XML code? Is it worth proceding with the
    development of a system usiing the HTML generators on the basis
    that XML generators will become available, or should I be
    planning to do most of the development by hand?

    The XML Metadata Interchange (XMI) is an OMG standard for exchanging metadata information via Extensible Markup Language (XML). It can be used for any metadata whose metamodel can be expressed in Meta-Object Facility (MOF).   • Oracle Identity Federation certificate question

    It is a Oracle requirement to include the certificate when Assertion is signed. Isn't it possible for a someone to intercept a assertion message sent be IDP and act as the IDP since the assertion has valid certificate? How do a SP ensure the certificate embedded in the assertion comes from correct IDP?
    Btw, since we import the certificate in JKS, why IDP is required to embed it in the assertion?

    Hi Vinay,
    Before any communication happens between IDP and SP, both systems will establish a mutual trusted relation ship by exchanging metadata.
    When IDP initates request, IDP will encode the assertion and will send it to SP.
    SP will decode assertion record and will determine if its trusted IDP.
    Only after this is passed, the SP allows IDP to access the resource requested for.

    XMI is standard used for XML data.
    In XI you will process the XMl fiels only and the data will transit in XML format.
    In order to exchange metadata (BI objects) between different systems, you can use XMI in the Transport Connection functional area of the Data Warehousing Workbench (XML Metadata Interchange). A model derived along the lines of the CWM (Common Warehouse Metamodel) is used.
    So you can have the Integration XI-----BI.

    I am running into issue who I launch the Microsoft Ecosystem Metadata Exchange Powershell Module
    Here is the error message:

    Hi,
    Please make sure a federation trust is established. Creating a federation trust is one of several steps in setting up federated delegation in your Exchange organization.
    And please use the MetadataURL parameter to specify the URL where WS-FederationMetadata is published by the Microsoft Federation Gateway to check result.

  • Metadata Field Exchange

    I would like to be able to automatically move a single field of metadata - namely the Supplier ID - to another metadata category. Is this automatically possible? Or duplication would also work instead of moving the information.
    I am just trying to get it so I can print that information in a contact sheet of information in the Print module.

  • Regarding Metadata Exchange

    Hi,
    I'm trying to download few BW objects using standard BW XML functionality (<i>Transport Connection -> XML -> Export</i>).
    But while doing so, the downloaded file shows 'No Documentation Available, No doc. object found for the interval'.
    The CWM service in SICF transaction is active, is there any other setting which I'm missing?
    Appreciate any help on this..
