Excite 7.7 stuck on boot, and wont rotate to portrait

hi,
I have at270 which is excite 7.7 bought it from Australia, the first month it was such a great tablet, but recently it started to annoy me,
- stuck on boot screen (the one that like a straight line, changing color and have bubble), it just stucks there wont go anywhere. I need to wait like a day or so and try to turn it on again, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt work.
- if it managed to pass the booting, the screen orientation locked in landscape, have tried to turn off the orientation button in the side, and tick the orientation settings.
I have tried to reset it to factory default 2 times, and the problem still persist, any idea why and how to fix it? (and also if possible fix my grammar too, lol)

You'll need to contact Toshiba Australia. They operate separately from Toshiba USA, and this is the Toshiba USA forum.

  • IPhone 4 only displays everything in landscap only and wont rotate pages

My iPhone 4 will only display everything in landscape mode...email, web pages, calculator...whatever can be rotated from portrait to landscape, it will only display in landscape and only the landscape mode as if the phone was rotated to the left. What should I do?

There is a setting for this with an Exchange account accessed via ActiveSync on an iPhone.
I don't know the exact location for this since I don't access an Exchange account with the iPhone's mail client, but there is an option to sync all messages or the last 30 days, etc. Check all available account settings on your iPhone.

  • ITunes is taking ages to boot and wont detect my devices please help

I am having major issues with iTunes. Im running on a Dell inspiron 1525 with running iTunes Windows Vista 32bit. My devices are iPhone4 and iPad3 all running 5.1.1. And there are no other devices connected or any other accounts open on laptop. And ive done a full scan using McAfee for Virus's
When i launch itunes (even running as admin) it takes several minutes to open. The loading cursar appears on desktop for around 3 minutes, then the iTunes tab appears in taskbar however its none responedent. A few minutes later it will open up. I can access everything as normal but when i plug any of my devices in iTunes doesnt detect any of them. Windows detects they are plugged in bringing up the "autoplay" and they are there in "computer" but itunes will not detect. When i run diagnostics all reports come back green including the USB check but the device check come back red.
The only changes that have been made since i was last able to use iTunes succesfully have been all devices updated to 5.1.1 (via the software update in the iPhone/iPad settings not via iTunes) and a connection upgrade from standard sky broadband to sky fibre ( so new router and Openreach Modem) and i have also reserved a static ip for my wifi connection. but if switched of the wifi and laptop rebooted and no diffrence so i dont think this has anything to do with it.
Ive tired uninstalling iTunes,Apple Devices,Quicktime etc and rebooting and reinstalling but it does exactly the same thing. Its driving me crazy now to the point im debating a full reinstall of laptop. I just know from previous problems with iTunes that it will be something silly and trivial conflicting with it. Ive googled to find others with the exact same problem but cant find any soloutions.
If anyone has any answers i would be soooooo very greatfull.
    Thanks

hi, Thanks for your message... yes I used the Kodak disk to remove the printer so it was completely uninstalled as it has Bonjour on it as well (which I think has been causing a seperate issue with Iphoto loading every time I turn on my mac.
I had a play yesterday, uninstalled Kodak printer, ran PRAM, ran disk utility to check everything was ok and I was still getting that dodgy white screen with black characters on it so I then tried reinstalling SL and it seems to have helped slightly.. boot is still A LOT slower than it was with Leo but it's only about a minute now instead of 5!!
I will take a look at the Kodak website and see if there's anything there... thanks

  • My iPhone is stuck in recovery and wont restore error (9) what do I do?

My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode. I have updated my Mac I tried to update iTunes but thats when i got the can not restore unknown error (9). I tried another cord I tried to update iTunes again but nothing kept getitng error code. I Then deleted iTunes and was going to try and reinstall it but apparently there are major issues with it and you can not download it right now. So basically I am stuck with a phone a can not use. Is anyone else having this problem?

Well, as a start, Recboot hosed the network database on your computer, which could be the problem. Especially if you had used it at some time in the past. Look in /etc/hosts, and if you see any lines containing "gs.apple.com" delete those lines.
From your profile you are also using a version of OS X that is not compatible with iTunes 10, which is required to update iPhones. You need OS X Leopard 10.5.8 as a minimum.
See: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error9 for other tips. You could have a bad or dirty connector on the iPhone also. Try cleaning it with a soft, dry toothbrush.

  • DVD stuck in drive and wont eject

There was a thread I read earlier with a similar problem only their solution was of no avail to me. Any other possible solutions. My dvd drive worked fine but now is all of a sudden not wanting to eject the dvd.
I tried holding the button on the track pad.
I tried holding down the mouse button.
What happens is that the DVD will try to eject but wont come out of the drive and ends up going back in on its own.

As well, I would also note that many disc drives have tiny hole in them that if you stick a pin or bent paperclip in, will manually open the drive.
Push with some force, but don't overdo it since it doesn't take much to manually eject the tray. If they tray opens you should then be able to open drive slowly to get the disc out.
You may want to try this while the machine is off as well so that no software gets confused about what is going on and tries to open/close the drive.

  • Mac Mini 2008 stuck at boot stage (apple & rotating bars)

Hi Community, I read some of the comments from people in similar situations. It seems that I will try to boot up with a utility disk inside it. WHERE do I get that utility CD second hand if do not own one anymore?
    I live in TW11.
    Or any other advice?
    Thanks,
    Edoardo

If you no longer have the original OS X disks that came with the system, contact Apple support (not the local store), and, if they still have them in stock, they can sell you a new set.
If you want to run Disk Utility, if you have a retail version of OS X you may be able to boot to that, and click on utility on the menu bar to bring up Disk Utility.  The original OS X disks also have the Apple hardware test, which is the only place to get it. However, it you have either of the TechTool programs, they do similar testing.
Have you tried a safe start, where you start holding the shift key down? That sometimes can get a system going, and may take awhile to start. If it works, try a normal boot.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

If necessary try the remaining items of:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Perform a Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

Try holding both home and off buttons for a few seconds until the apple logo appears on screen. See if that solves the issue. Honestly, there may be a myriad of reasons why your phone may be stuck at boot stage. Care to share what you did before it occured? That would help us give you better troubleshooting.
