Exclude Development Servers Group from SCOM notifications

Hi,
In my environment SCOM monitors and alerts on both production, acceptance and some development servers as well as some network devices, custom application management packs and so forth....
Is there a way to only send notifications for all new critical alerts other than the development servers?
I have found a way to create a dynamic development server group in SCOM using AD OU but am not able to exclude it from our critical notification subscription.
We still want to see the alerts in the console and monitor health of the development servers - just don't want to get email alerts about them.
Any ideas?

If you want don't want to get email alerts about dev servers , you can create Custom group to all servers and Exclude Dev Group.
In Scom email notification assign it by Select Condition raised by any instance of a specific group and of a specific severity

Manage DPM servers, running DPM jobs, etc from SCOM 2012 SP1

Little background about our systems.
We have a dedicated SCOM 2012.
We have 22 DPM servers, DPM 2010 and DPM 2012 (we are upgrading to 2012 SP1, we have customers that still using Windows 2003 servers) to be managed by SCOM
We have a few DPM servers that are not located on the same domain as the SCOM server (untrusted domain).
Some problem we have
1. When we try to manage the DPM servers from the SCOM server.
From SCOM 2012 server I can “Manage DPM server” that are located in our domain but I cannot manage DPM servers located on untrusted domains (customer’s domains). I receive the below error message
"Unable to connect to <untrusted domain DPM SERVER> ID: 948
Verify that the DPM service is running on this computer"
I guess it’s because the account that I’m using to run SCOM server located in our domain and does not have the permission to open the DPM console on the untrusted domain. So I wonder if it is possible to use “RUN AS profiles/accounts”
to solve this issue, and how?
2. I have installed SCOM 2012 Operations Manager Console on my computer and then installed DPM Central Console.
When I select one dpm server (from my computer), that is on our domain, and then click “Manage DPM server” I got this error message
"Unable to connect to <our domain DPM SERVER> ID: 33333
1. Verify that the DPM service is running on this computer (YES)
2. Verify that the current user has been added to at least one of the roles in Operations Manager. (YES)
3. Open Operations Manage console and then try launching the DPM Console (THAT IS WHAT I AM TRYING TO DO)
4. If you have re-imported the management pack recently, the role configuration may be corrupt. Open the DPM-specific roles and check if the roles have task assigned to them. If not, delete the roles and recreate the...."
When I click on “Get more information” I get this error message.
"You don´t have access permission to connect to the System Center Data Access service on <SCOM SERVER>. Please check if it is a permission issue".....
Do you know why I cannot connect to any DPM server on our own domain?
Why do I get access permission error on my computer but not on the SCOM server (using the same account)?
What should we do to be able to connect to DPM servers that are on untrusted domain?
3. Is it possible to see Last Recovery Point date/time in SCOM alerts?
For me it is the first thing I look at. If it has failed 10 min ago it is not critical.
But if it is a date and time more than 1 day old, then it is critical.
I hope someone can help us with this

Hi,
To manager DPM, I think we may need to add the account to local admin group of the DPM server.
In addition, to connect to DPM the user needs permissions to DPM/SQL Server DPMDB.
For your DCs, have your enabled agent proxy option? If not, please enable that option for all DCs.

Exclude (a group) from background billing

We need to exclude one sales organisation from background billing (nightly batch job using varaints of SAPMV60S) because they have to produce invoices on a set range of pre-printed paper. Is this possible? (the sales organisation uses the same billing types as the other ones).

But we have a large number of sales organisations. We do not set our billing variants by sales organisation (we would need to have 30 variations for each step!). I just need to have a way to exclude one sales organisation from the billing process, while still flagging the fact that it has been considered for billing and rejected.
We do a similar thing for scheduled billing customers, where a job using a different program (RV60SBAT) considers a group of customers against their billing calendars and only bills them if the day is a valid billing day on the calendar. This job is run before the normal billing steps, and prevents the customers being considered for billing afterwards. But again, I can't find a way for the program to check all orders and deliveries due for billing for a sales organisation and NOT BILL them !

Copy security groups from development to production

Hello all,
Can we copy security provisioning for groups from one server to another if they are not linked to one shared services server?
I tried using "Copy Provision" tool in shared services but it seems like we can only copy to another server if it is in the same instance od shared services. I dont see my production server to copy provisioning to.
Please let me know how we can accomplish that.

I think you perform migration of security provisioning for groups using LCM from shared services even if they are not linked to one shared services as the migration using LCM generates xml file which can moved between diff servers.

Exclude Organisational groups from Transfer

When I execute the Task "Exclude Organisational groups from Transfer" in "Configuration and Selection" --> "Customizing",I receive the next error : "You do not have the PE03 authorization for the object S_TCODE". User offiadm has SAP_ALL and SAP_TDMS_MASTER in the control system.

Exclude Advisor/Azure Alerts in SCOM Alert View

I'm analyzing a lot of Servers which of course generates many alerts. Is there any way to exclude them in the SCOM Console Alert View? All my Advisor "Managed" Servers are in a group, but I didnt find any option to exclude the whole group (generating
the alerts) from the SCOM View. Event not to Exclude from my Subscribtion (generating E-Mails) - what i miss is kind of *NOT* raised by any instance of a specific group.

You should be able to filter based on the rule - since all Advisor Configuration Alerts are generated by the same 'sync' rule.
Or you can disable syncing them altogether

How can I prevent the active Tab Group from changing whenever I close a tab?

Simply, often I will close a tab in Firefox 4; then, for some reason the active Tab Group changes to some other collection. It usually happens when I close the last tab in my tabs bar, but it has happened after closing other tabs, as well. Would love to prevent Tab Groups from changing automatically. Thank you!

I tried precisely your suggestion before posting my message to the forum yesterday. I just forgot to mention it... Maybe I was afraid of increasing my message length more and more...
I already know that this solution prevents the MediaTracker from blocking. However...
(1) If they reach a troublesome image (like a Targa), the users of my application might not be pleased by its freezing for 10 seconds. Actually, this image loading module is part of an architecture for database applications from which my development team and I produce applications for various customers. Images are used, in particular, in Oracle BLOB support.
(2) If I use a smaller timeout delay, I have no guarantee that any image, whatever its length, will load properly (Targa excluded, of course). According to tests I performed yesterday, I am virtually sure that the 10-second delay will be busted very easily by pictures larger than 1 Mb. I cannot overlook this potential problem: an Oracle BLOB can contain up to 2 terabytes of data!
On the other side, I don't want to focus too much the attention on the JIMI Targa import filter because I know that a revised version of the JIMI and JAI packages will be part of JDK 1.4. This is why I am trying to figure out what is happening in the MediaTracker and Toolkit classes, which are much more fundamental than the Jimi ones...

To resolve the issues and stop getting these two events, please do the following.
1) stop SCOM health service on the agent (system center management service).
2) rename "health service state" folder located at c:\program files\system center 2012\Agent\".
3) restart SCOM health service on the agent (system center management service).
4) A new Health service state folder will be created and the issue would be resolved.
If this doesn't work, repair the agents from console. Or else finally you might need to perform a complete uninstall and reinstall of SCOM agent on the server.

Can we send an email to internal/ external address from Quality Notification without any development? It should be SAP std (out of box) functionality.

Yes there is a Standard functionality available in SAP use the tcode scot and confifure the SMTP.
Prerequisites
The mail server in question must be SMTP-compatible.
Settings for the Profile Parameters (Transaction RZ10)
You have to adjust the profile of the SAP Web Application Server if you want to use the SMTP function. The SAPconnect send job can only be scheduled for servers on which SMTP has been activated. For this reason, you must activate SMTP for all of the SAP systemu2019s application servers.

Every user that is to receive e-mails in an SAP system requires an Internet mail address. This is also used as a sender address. Enter the Internet mail address for a user in transaction SU01, under E-Mail on the tab page Address.
Assigning the Client (Transaction SICF)
Every SAP system client that is to receive and process incoming mails (or status notifications) must have an SMTP server. One SMTP server (SAPconnect) has already been created in transaction SICF and is delivered with every SAP system. Use this to create the first client and then create another SMTP server for each additional client. Configure the following settings on the SMTP servers:
u2022        Host data
Enter the sequence number of a parameter is/SMTP/virt_host_<*> from the profile. If you have only created one client and therefore have not specified this parameter type, enter 0.
u2022        Service data
Enter the client to which the mails received through the virtual mail host are to be forwarded, and then enter the logon data of the system user that you created for the incoming mails.
u2022        Handler list
Enter CL_SMTP_EXT_SAPCONNECT at position 1.
SAPconnect Administration (Transaction SCOT)
You have to configure SAPconnect settings for every client that is used for send processes.
u2022        Default Domain
Under Settings  Default Domain, define the domain of the SAP system client. This allows for the following to take place:
u2022         The SMTP plug-in logs on to the mail server using the domain as ID.
u2022         The message ID of the outbound e-mails is assembled with this domain.
u2022         If an SAP user who does not have an Internet mail address sends an e-mail, a sender address consisting of the SAP user name and this domain is generated.
u2022        Nodes
Each client has an SMTP node. This node is created by the SAP system and cannot be deleted. The following steps need to be carried out to configure the node so that sending Internet mail is possible:
i.         Make sure you are in the Node view.
ii.       Double-click the node name.
iii.      Choose Node in use.
iv.      In the Mail Host and Mail Port fields, specify the mail server to which the outbound mails are to be sent.
v.        Next to Internet, choose Settings.
vi.      Enter the address area of the recipient addresses that are to be reached using this node. In general, * is used if all e-mails are to be sent using SMTP.
vii.     Enter the output format for SAP documents. We recommend that you use the following settings:
SAPscript/Smart Forms     PDF
ABAP list     HTM
Business Object / Link     HTM
RAW Text     TXT
viii.   Confirm your selection.

Move Protection Group from One DPM server to another DPM server

Can we move Protection Group from one DPM 2012 SP1 to another DPM 2012 R2 version? If yes then what is the steps to perform that. Also i am running DPM servers with co-located and non-colocated configuration. What would be best as per best practice? Because
my 95% backup are SQL backups.

There are no provisions in DPM to move protection groups or protected data sources to a new DPM server and maintain the recovery points. The best you can do is to stop protection on DPM1 and retain the replica, then run the setdpmserver.exe on the
protected server and point it the DPM2 server. On DPM2, run the attach-productionserver.ps1 script to establish agent communications, then make new protection groups and re-protect the same data sources. After the retention goals are met, delete
the replica from under inactive protection group on DPM1.

How do I stop iMesssages/texts sent to a group from Messages app on MacBook from starting a new group thread?

Whenever I try sending group iMessages on my MacBook using Messages, it keeps splitting into a new thread on our phones. There are 4 of us in the group that I've tried this with and it splits for all of us even though on my computer it is saying that I am sending to the original group that is custom named. One of the guys in the group is able to use his MacBook (same year/model/OS) without any problems of splitting, so we aren't sure what the problem is or how to fix it.
I have OS X Yosemite 10.10.2, but it's been doing this ever since iOS 8 and Yosemite first came out.

Hi,
I have only tried group chats a couple of times.
I have just added the name I wanted to the "To" box after enabling a "New Chat".
I do know that unlike AIM or a Jabber Chat people can't leave you have to restart a fresh group and exclude the people you don't want (same if you want to add people).
I have not thought to try renaming such a chat.
I would try building the group from scratch rather then trying to make it use and old name. (I have difficulty accessing some chats pre my Yosemite Upgrade)

Removal of Developer Key entry from DEVACCESS Table.

Hi,
On table DEVACCESS, in QTY/DEV/Prod there is one person with Developer Key listed that I would like to remove, User is no more working and now we want to delete the entry from this table which has the User name followed by the Developer key assigned.
Could any one guide me in deleting the Developer Key access from the DEVACCESS table.

Another alternative is to use SE11 to create a maintenance view (ex: ZV_DEVACCESS). Secure the maintenance view with a custom authorization group. With the maintenance view you have the ability to use SM30 to maintain the DEVACCESS data.
That keeps the DEVACCESS table from changing and thus no need to register the change with SAP.
