Exclude QI stocks from MRP

Dear Experts,
We have a change requirement where we want to exclude QI stocks from MRP.  That is, exclude QI as available stocks at all areas.  There are a lot of existing stocks for a lot of materials already that are in QI.  Is there any way we can configure MRP to exclude QI stocks?
Thanks All!

Manoj,
The only kind of stocks that can be excluded by config from being considered by MRP are
Stock in Transfer
Blocked stock
Restricted use stock (batches)
You can select/deselect these in OPPI
Unfortunately, none of these automatically have a 1 to 1 link with QI stock.  If you performed a transaction to change your QI stocks to one of the above categories, then it could be excluded from MRP.  You also could have some additional options if you are using MRP areas, and all the QI stock is in its own MRP area.
Quality stock can also be excluded from ATP processing, in OVZ9.  However, this has no impact on MRP.
It is generally considered unwise to exclude QI stock from MRP processing unless you know the parts will be rejected as unsuitable.  Any other inspection results will cause MRP to become unstable over time.  Consider the following scenario:
Open PO 100, open SO 100.  MRP is balanced.
Receive the PO into QI stock.  If this stock were made to be unavailable, then you have 0 stock available, and 100 pc open SO.  Next MRP run will determine a shortage, and will generate another purchase req.  Someone may actually convert the PR to a PO and submit to a vendor.
Now, the Quality dept completes their inspection, and the QI stock is transferred to unrestricted and available.  Now we have 100 pcs stock, 100 pcs open PR or PO, and 100 pc rqment for SO.  Next MRP run will determine an overcoverage and will suggest cancellation of the PR/PO.

  • How to exclude the stock from MRP in MS04.

    Hi SAP ALL,
My client req the stock maintain the for the long term planning purpose under one storage location stock not considered to the MRP. in MS04 T Code.this is issue where did i m setting plz give some detailed explanation
    regards
    raju

    Hi,
In transaction OMIR, choose your plant & then for the storage location you want to exclude from MRP enter 1 (exclude from MRP).
After this setting is maintained, whenever a material is created in this plant & storage location, it will have MRP indicator as "1" in the mrp 4 view .
For materials already in this storage location if the MRP indicator "1" is not maintained in mrp 4 view, please go for a mass change maintenance in the material master & maintain this indicator.
Stock in the excluded storage location will not add up to the stock which is displayed in the top in the md04 screen. This stock will be displayed separately in the bottom of the screen.
    Please check same with MS04.

  • Excluding storage location from MRP run in Long Term Planning

    Hi,friends,
In my scenario , i want to exclude storage location from MRP run in long term planning. When i set storage location MRP indicator "2" in SPRO and SLoc MRP indicator "1" MRP4 in material master, i can exclude the storage location after run MRP with MD01/MD02,and i can see the expected result in MD04.But in Long Term Planning scenario the storage location can not be excluded after run MRP with MS01/MS02,and the requirements list in MS04 include the stock in the storage location i want to exclude. i dont know if i miss something.Plz give me some advice.

    Hi,
Refer the OSS Note 208017 - LTP: Long-term planning and storage locations
    ==========================================================================
    Symptom
In long-term planning (Transactions MSBT / MS01 / MS02 / MS03), the MRP indicator of a storage location for a material is not taken into account (material master, view MRP 2 [up to and including Release 3.1I] or MRP 4 [as of Release 4.0A]).
The storage locations excluded by MRP or planned separately are also planned in the plant segment.
    Additional key words
LTP, MM01, MM02, MM03, master data, MRP indicator, LGORT ...
    Cause and prerequisites
The MRP indicator for a certain storage location of a material is only taken into account in operative planning (requirements planning, MRP).
The long-term planning occurs exclusively at plant level.
    Solution
This is no error. The system works as intended.
The individual storage locations should not be distinguished in the long-term planning, in order to perform a comprehensive long-term planning.
This is important, for example, within the kanban processing where the storage locations with kanban MRP are excluded from the MRP, but in spite of that should be included in the long-term planning.

  • Need to exclude storage location from MRP.

    Hi Gurus,
Is there an option to exclude a specified storage location from MRP at configuration level. But not at material level as in MRP4 view.
We have excluded the stoarge location in config OMIR, however the system considers that stock if the same is not excluded in MRP4 of that material.
Now, the problem is every time i need to go to the material master of every material  i have to excude from MRP, which is very time consuming..!
Please advise me is there any option in point of view of Storage Location,  just simply  define the storage location to be excluded from MRP run.
    Thanks in advance.
    Naveen.

    Dear,
Yes you can do it though OMIR or MMSC 1-Storage location stock excluded from MRP.
Also check this link for more details,

    Just out of curiousity,
1 ) in MRP 4 view, is there a field to possible to exlcude dependent requirements in the MRP?
2 ) Is there a way to ONLY excluded the reservation requirement in the MRP?
    Thanks.

    Hi........
1 ) in MRP 4 view, is there a field to possible to exlcude dependent requirements in the MRP?
Yes. In MRP 4 view there is a field which is MRP dep. requireemnts in this if you define (1) Materials for dependent requirements are not planned.
2 ) Is there a way to ONLY excluded the reservation requirement in the MRP?
    Yes. You should explore OMBN.

  • Exclude special stock (project) from MRP run

    Hi,
Would need to exclude special stocks representing project stocks from MRP calculation. Could not seem to find a way to control this via config similar to options available for blocked and in-transit stocks.  Is there an option to do this in config?  Thanks...

    Hi,
You can exclude the stock by creating storage location MRP.
Create separate str location for project stock by MMSC.
In the material master of mrp 4 view, str location indicator - select Exclude str loc from mrp  for new ie, project str loc.
Check your Plant & str location by checking Plant/ data view in material master whether you have excluded the correct str location which you have newly created.
When mrp run system exclude this str location.

  • Exclude purchase order on storage location from MRP

    Hi Everyone,
We have excluded storage location 1200 from MRP.
The result shows only stock on 1200 excluded from MRP, PO on storage location 1200 (storage location 1200 in PO) still considered in MRP.
Is there any way to exclude PO on 1200 i MRP also?
    Best Regards,
    Bin

    Dear,
Go to MRP 4 view of the material master .
In the field SLoc MRP indicator field "1".
If it is for a material than in the material master level it can be done. If you are looking for all materials in that storage location, than it is better to define this in SPRO->Production->MRP-->Planning-->Define Storage Location per MRP plant. Here for that storage location in that plant you need to define "2" - Storage location stock planned seperately or "1" - Exclude Storage location from MRP.
Also u can use t.code MMSC.
Select Material & Plant and Assign MRP =1 for the Sloc to be excluded

  • Sales Order ATP should exclude the stock of a particular st. loc

    Hi,
At Sale order creation, ATP check should exclude a particular Sto Location,
Suppose we have Sto Loc 001, 002, 003, 004 & 005, we want to reserve some stock for the next year, so we identify one storage location say 005 and move some stocks to this storage location. Now when the sales people are creating Sales order, the ATP check should exculde stocks from this Storage Location (the stocks in this sto loc should not be considered in ATP).
But for all other purpose like MRP this should be visible. We want the stock to be in unrestricted area in this Sto Loc.
Request you all to propose a feasible solution either through User exit or some configuration.
    Thanks in advace,
    Navin

    Hi All,
Thanks a lot for all the replies, I found in the storage location table T001L, a field ``DISKZ`` settings called ``Storage location MRP indicator`` the details are as follows Storage location MRP indicator
that you use to exclude storage locations from material requirements planning at plant level.
If you do not set this indicator, stock, requirements, and receipts are included in MRP at plant level.
    Use
You can exclude storage locations from MRP at plant level in one of two ways:
By excluding storage location stock from MRP
If storage location stock is excluded from MRP at plant level, no receipts for this storage location will be created in the planning run.
By planning storage location stock separately
If storage location stock is planned separately, the storage location is replenished with goods if the stock falls below the reorder point.
Has any one tried this and does this meets the requirement.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Exclude Reservation stock type from MRP Run

    Dear All,
I need to exclude Reserved Stock Type from MRP Planning.
Please guide me with the steps to perform the above.
Just for your information, the reservation is coming from Plant Maintenance module, not Production Planning.
I tried changing the Availability check 02 - PM checking rule to exclude reservation, but it doesnt seem to work. Maybe i did it wrong.
    Please help.

    Nazrin,
Availability check configuration (OVZ9) has no impact on MRP.  MRP relies on its internal rules when it is performing its net requirements calculation.  You have very little control over which elements are included/excluded.
You can exclude selected storage locations from MRP planning.  Stock and reservations against these storage locations will therefore also be excluded.
You can exclude a material from planning, change the material master MRP type to ND.
Your best bet, though, would be to set your PM planning process up such that these materials never create the reservation in the first place.

  • Exclude Stock Transfer from MRP Net Requirements

    Hi,
Is it possible to exclude the Stock Transfer Orders from the Net Requirements generated by MRP? I want to base the requirements only from historical consumption. In my Stock/requirements list (MD04) for example, the Requisition generated by MRP increases in quantity since there are open Stock Transfers which are to be served by that plant to other plants.

  • EXCLUDE PROJECT STOCK MRP

    DEAR GURU
MY QUESTION IS I WANT TO EXCLUDE PROJECT STOCK WITH INDICATOR Q FROM MRP.
SHOULD I TRY THE STORAGE LOCATION METHOD BY EXCLUDING A PARTICULAR LOCATION FROM MRP?
    OR
IS THERE ANY WAT TO DO SO....PLEASE SUGGEST

    Hi ,
Just my 2 cent idea ,
For PS MRP run MD51, system checks the available quantity of PS stock against specific WBS.
Please note that the special stock  indicator Q for project stock will not consider existing stock.
Goto Run MD51 and then take MRP run again in MD02 and check the result.
I would suggest you use Master Data Level to excluded because is easier to control but depend on your business scenario.
As if you using Storage location , you need to have specific location only for PS and you need to involve Material transfer among.
    TQ.

  • How MRP Run exclude QI Stock Type of a Raw Material SLOC?

    Dear all
    Fact:
All of our raw materials must be subject to quarantinee upon GR. We have Storage Location of Raw Material: RMSL
In Material Master of that Raw Material
We are using the "SLOC of EP" (MRP View 2) to put the defaulted GR SLOC. And we also make use of the "Post to QI Stock" in View: Purchasing.
    Upon GR:
During GR, the Raw Mat SLOC (RMSL) will be copied from "SLOC of EP" of the material master data, and it will be posted to the stock type "QI STOCK".
    Problem:
However, when the MRP Controller run MRP, it will take the QI Stock Type of Raw Material SLOC into account.
Is there anyway we can exclude the QI Stock Type of Raw Material SLOC from MRP Run?
I have read from some threads to suggest to post it to the Quarantinee SLOC. We prefer not to create another Quarantinee SLOC (QISL) which will be filled in SLOC of EP and then after passing QC, we perform Transfer Posting from SLOC: QISL to SLOC: RMSL. We have a few Raw Material SLOCS and we do not want the Warehouse guy to get confused which Raw MAterial SLOC to choose upon GR. Rather, we prefer it to be defaulted in the "SLOC of EP" in the material master.
    Please advise.

    Hi,
Generally MRP consider stock from all the storage location when run the MRP for Plant level for material.
However we can exclude the particular storage location from MRP Run, for those following settings to be done.
Go to MRP-2 View of material master and select the storage location to be excluded from MRP. (Press Shift +f1 ex .sloc2) As per your case it should be RMSL
In that MRP view go to Storage location MRP Tab.
And assign u201CSLoc MRP indicator = 1 (Storage location stock excluded from MRP)u201Dand save.
Now run the MRP, stock from sloc2 will not be considered to create-planned order.
Please try this and revert back.
    Cheers,

  • To exclude SCARP storage location from MRP

    Hi Gurus,
We have a issue regarding the scrap Quantities. we need to exclude these materials from the available stock for MRP. We have a setting in the MRP available stock with Blocked stock not checked and restricted stock checked.
My question is if we un check the restricted stock, is the MRP will not consider the stock in scrap storage location.
Please help to find the solution.
    Thank you.
    naveen.

    Hi,
Your scrap str location is not either blocked or restricted str location. This is a regular str location but the name is scrap location.
System will consider this str location as a regular str location. So do setting to exclude this str location from MRP as previous member explained.
