Excluded stuctural profiles

Hi Guys,
Could anyone tell me how to use the Exclusion field in OOSB transaction to exclude some particular oraganizational nodes.
Immediate help would be appreciated. Its kind of urgent. Thanks!

Hi Guphta,
If you flag "Exclusion field", user <u>won't</u> be able to have access to data concerning objects included in structural profile.
If you <u>don't</u> flag "Exclusion field", user will be able to have access to data concerning objects included in structural profile.
You can combine many entries for an user in OOSB.
OOSB deals wtih T77UA table.
Hope it's not too late to help you :o)

  • SAP LSO 600 Stuctural Profiles

    Hi,
How do you restrict the catalog by org unit utilizing structural authorization? Can someone please explain how this can be accomplished?
Basically I have a subset of users which I do not want to see part of the course catalog. Also there is a subset of users which I would like to restrict training administrator functionality.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    -Alan

    Alan,
    Just a word of caution...
I would suggest challenging the business group if it is absolutely critical to restrict the catalog using structural authorization.  If you can avoid it, it simplifies things considerably.
Not sure if this is different in LS0 600, but when we evaluated the use structural profiles in LSO 300, we discovered an additional issue.  Users who had structural authorizations in place in SAP ECC encountered problems as Learners in the Learning Portal (meaning that, for example, they were unable to register for a course outside of their structure).  So, even though their Learner role had wide-open access to the entire catalog on the frontend, structural authorizations in the backend override everything for those users, and it limited their ability to have full access to the course catalog for major activities, such as booking, pre-booking, cancelling, etc.
Based on our assessment of the headaches that it would cause for our backend users (over 150 training administrators and instructors), we decided <b>not</b> to implement strucutural authorizations for LSO.
BTW, if the business is concerned about administrators making changing in other areas of the catalog, then an alternative you could offer is to setup PD logging in order to create an audit trail of catalog changes (you'd need to sit down and determine exactly which infotype changes were significant enough to warrant tracking).

  • Compliance Calibrator Design - Roles and Profiles

Hi guys,as you know SAP's authorization concept involves generation of Roles into Profile before it can be assigned to a User. In CC, i wonder why is there a need to segregate Roles and Profiles into 2 seperate functions. Isnt it already sufficient to analyse roles instead of profiles? Profile are names which is too technical which i feel should be omitted unless really necessary.
Well, unless it is to cater for indirect assignment where profiles are granted to position/org unit etc... I will also be trying out whether there is a difference when you only batch analyse a Role and intentionally excluding the 'profile' whenever a new role is created. Will the system work fine when i do a role analysis?
    Cheers!

I agree that profiles are old fashioned and should be phased out.  The system has to stop people from being able to maintain profiles directly and assign them directly before they do this though.  SAP_ALL etc can be converted and assigned as a role.  It would make the whole authorisation concept just that little bit easier.  We are talking about a German company though!
Also, you don't need profiles for indirect assignment.  You can relate roles to the position using PFCG!  Click on the organisational management button on the user-tab, next to the user comparison button.
Using profiles (ie, maintaining directly and assignment) is highly recommended against.

  • How to Restrict Site Level Profiles in Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2

    Friends -
Could you please advise how to restrict control on site level profiles in 11.5.10.2
For a user who is having system administrator responsibility is there any way that we can restrict site level profiles
    Appreciate your support on this.
    Regards
    Satish Vellampalli

    Hi,
I believe there is not direct way to restrict a person with System Administrator responsibility from accessing profile options. However, you may achieve this by creating a new responsibility (identical to System Administrator responsibility) and exclude the profile option window from it, and assign it to the user.

  • Paper profiles in the color management dialog

Hello:I am new to the LR 2 print module I have used CS4. I find that the color management dialogue under
"other" does not contain all the color and BW paper profiles that are downloaded into the color folder in Widows. I use Vista 64  but I have not checked any of the checkboxes in the color management dialog thereby knowingly excluding any profiles. How do I get all my profiles into color mangement in LR 2?

    Roger Lieberman
    [email protected]

Check that the profiles are installed in the correct location as shown in the Choose Profiles dialog box which opens from LR. On 32 bit OS this is windows/system32/spool/drivers/color...this may be different on 64 bit OS. LR will only recognise RGB profiles so if you have CYMK profile these will not show up.Also check the box Include Display Profiles as sometimes paper profiles show up as display profiles for some reason.

  • Gettiong chrome://messenger/content/mailWindow.js:179 error but after while works fine. Two accounts and appears worse with one account

when starting up Thunderbird, it's very slow. Running version 24.6.0 on Windows 8.1. Computer is a ASUS laptop. Have two email accounts. One account works fine but the other one is very slow at beginning. Clicking or deleting emails I get no response until after about 30 seconds. At times I also receive the following error message "chrome://messenger/content/mailWindow.js:179'. Clicking on stop script doesn't help. After about 4 minutes, get normal response times. This is after I have clicked or deleted emails aout five times.

About 5 minutes is how long it takes anti virus programs to scan the Thunderbird profile folder. Perhaps you need to exclude the profile folders from "on access" scanning and leave it to full scans to look at that part of the disk.

  • GRC 10 - Risk Analysis in legacy system

    Hi everybody,
I have a problem with legacy connectors in GRC 10. I implemented the note 1594963. So, I created the legacy files and storage it in GRC server.
When I run the user synch, the legacy connector only synch the first record.
Someone can help me? Someone did implement a risk analysis for legacy systems?
    Regards,

    Hi  Claudio Ekel
Can you share some inputs on the Legacy Risk Analysis.
We have configured the Legacy Connector as per the note 1594963 ; Placed the files on the server & tried running Synchronization Jobs. But the data is not getting uploaded to GRC10 .
We made sure that text files are in UTF-8 format
Is it mandatory to load all the 11 files that are provided in the note 1594963? We have excluded the Profile related files
Can you share a sample of Legacy file formats that you have used for the sync.
Can you throw some light on what could be the possible issues for data not getting uplaoded to GRC10?

  • Access Control 5.3 - RAR

    Hi Experts,
Help needed. I am a newbie with GRC.
I have executed the background jobs for RAR:
    - roles/profiles/users sync
    - batch risk analysis
    - mgt rpt
all full sync and with * values
Once completed, the infor was updated in the informer tab under mgt view.
Question 1: What is puzzling me is, though i have setup the rule architect with critical roles and profiles (SAP* roles & S profiles) and under config tab to ignore critical roles and profiles (set to YES). Why is the mgt view->risk violations still showing me IDs assigned with SAP_ALL? This is definitely not a good place for top mgt to view the report since it is not reflecting the "accurate" situation of the system. Right?
Is risk analysis->user analysis, role analysis the "right" place for top mgt to view the reports then? Please advice.
    Question 2:
When I change the background job parameters for Batch Risk Analysis with specific usergroup and specific role range, why it doesnt reflect in the mgt view->risk violations? it still show me all the users in the systems and not the range of users that i specified.
    Thanks.

    Hi Annie,
For your first question check this thread -

As per my uderstanding mgt-risk violation will show you the results based upon the selected criteria in the view and not based upon the background job you selected. Once Full Batch Risk Analysis is done, the data is there in GRC database. After that it keeps syncing each time you run a new batch risk analysis and adds any new changes.
Showing in mgmt report is based upon what you select to see.

  • Access Control 5.3 RAR - BW Reporting 0GCC_UPV

    Hi experts,
I have activated the SAP GRC Access Control content and everything works fine so far. However, I can't report risks by users properly, as mitigated controls are not taken into account in cube 0GCC_UPV. Mitigated users are stored in 0GCC_MTUS.
Has anyone experience with this ? Of course we want to report on users which are not mitigated and still have risks.
The query select * from virsa_cc_prmvl on Java Stack says that MITREFNO is always empty. However, there is the possibility on the java stack to report on users and select/deselect mitigation. I don't believe they join two tables during runtime !
    Any help is appreciated !
    Thanks,

  • Message filltering doesn't always work!

I recently installed Thunderbird on a new computer, and copied the relevant directories than contained all the messages/account information from my old PC's Thunderbird installation to my new one. I did have to re-enter the account passwords, but after that all seemed to be working OK.
I have now noticed that some of the automatic message filtering that I had previously set up doesn't work and that the messages are left in the inbox. If I 'Run filters on folder' then the filters work, and the messages are moved to the correct folders accordingly.
FYI, I have 10 Mail accounts, all using POP. One of the accounts has its own dedicated inbox, all the others use the local folders inbox. (This dedicated inbox accounts filters only seem to work manually). Of the remaining 9 accounts, one is filtered by it's account name, the other 8 are filtered via the Local Folders filter. I have 294 filters in total.
All filters have the 'Manually Run' and 'Getting New Mail' tick box's checked and 'Filter before Junk Classification'.
I would have linked my problem with the Forum Question 'If I apply mail filters for message body , the filters stop applying automatically', however my problem appears to be random, and doesn't just apply to message body filters.
Has this problem been caused by the transfer of the accounts from one computer to another, or has this transfer just shown up a bug?
Am I likely to have to Identify which of the filters aren't working and have to re-enter them? (With 294 filters with a potential problem, this would take ages!). And would this cure the problem?

ok some background and some ideas.
Compact all folders [File menu (alt+F) Compact Folders]
Thunderbird stores all mail in a single files per folder, as these files get parger something functions just don't work.
Exclude the profile folder from on access scanning in your anti virus package and see if that helps. The getting of mail requires the update of the underlying MBOX files for each folder affected by that mail. If the anti virus is locking the files for scanning while Thunderbird is indexing and filtering the result can be unpredictable.
Thinking about the software you have installed, is there anything else that might be scanning file when they are accessed (MAlware detectors, keystroke monitors, net nanny type content filters etc)

  • Downsample pdfs

I have a 24"x36" poster with a 300DPI background image wieghing in at around 180. If I export a PDF it comes out at 300MB. I have no image compression or downsampling - yet.

Yes, if you're scaling, you definitely ought to downsample images during export. I don't know your reasons for avoiding jpeg compression, but that would give you the greatest reduction in file size. (Maximum quality jpeg compression is not  visually detectable to me at all, except maybe in large, subtle gradations.) If you're not going to use jpeg compression on the images, I really don't see any reason you wouldn't at least use zip compression. You can also use
    compressionType = PDFCompressionType.COMPRESS_OBJECTS
to compress the pdf itself; I can't say I understand exactly what that does, but I've never run into a problem with it. You could also exclude ICC profiles, depending on the needs of whoever is using the file downstream.
By the way, it looks to me like your function is just setting a bunch of global variables. Maybe there was a
    with (app.pdfExportPreferences) {
    in there at some point?

  • Resized JPG comes out reddish

Hi. A user in our organization is producing JPGs from his PSD files on the Mac from CS5. The files are uploaded and processed via a Java web app that resizes them and stores their location on the database. Some of the JPGs, when resized via the Java code, come out with a reddish tint to them.
    Here's an original image: http://www.unctv.org/tWxkBbq_10M6wKRRL/PNCWWD01.jpg
    Here's the resized one: http://www.unctv.org/tWxkBbq_10M6wKRRL/PABDFC01__1289231445291.jpg
I've been pulling my hair to see why this one image has the issue but others work fine. Anyone know why this might be happening? What would cause an image to have this red color overlaying it?

The server-side image processor might be choking on some meta data in the file. Try using the Save for Web function in Photoshop to exclude this meta data.
EDIT: the converted image also lacks a color profile while sRGB is associated with the original. The image processor may not be able to handle color profiles. Save for Web can also exclude color profile data. Before uploading, be sure to convert the image to sRGB if it is not already.

  • Jerkiness and freezing when mirroring

I just upgraded my MacBookPron (early 2011) to OSX 10.8.2 in order to stream my computer's screen onto my 3rd generation Apple TV.  I located an episode of a series from ABC and clicked the mirroring button on the top menu.  My router is an Airport Extreme 802.11n(fourth generation). My internet download speed is 21 mbps and the upload speed is 22 mbps.  I waited for the video to download. The picture and sound did appear on my Apple TV but froze constantly and when the video did play for a few seconds it was very jeky.  Any help to straightening out this problem would be appreciated.

You say you have disabled bit defender for email, but just as important with these sorts of blockages is to exclude the profile folder and it's children from on access scanning (whatever bit defender calls it)
The profile can be found by selecting troubleshooting information from the help menu (alt + H)
Safe mode is to try and determine is an add-on is the cause of the issue. If it is an add-on you need to contact the add-on author and see what they can do to correct the behavior.
