Excluding and including items from back-up.
Initially I excluded from back-ups in Time Machine a certain number of items. Then I decided that one of them (the cache folder for Adobe) should be backed-up. So I took it out from the exclusion list (by highlighting the item and pressing the minus sign in the Time Machine window). The folder no longer appears on the exclusion list. But that folder is still not being backed-up, as if it were still in the excluded list. I am assuming that putting items on the excluded list is not irrevesible (if not, why have the minus sign?). I have spoken to a member of the Genius Bar in my town, but they had no suggestions (apart from wiping all the back-ups, and starting again, which I am a bit reluctant to do, for obvious reasons...).
The backing-up is being done to a 1 Tb external Lacie, which has about 500 Mb free space. The computer is a 1-year old iMac, running under Snow Leopard.

As a rule Time Machine will exclude files like, cache files, temporary files, Spotlight indexes, and items in the Trash. This is one of the space saving features used by Time Machine.

This is not to be done in iTunes in your computer; this is to be done at your apple TV under "setting". "audio video" "show playlist" "music only/all"
I am posting this here because I started chat mode with Apple support last night at midnight till 1:30, they didn't know what to do.
They called me back this morning at 10 am.
It's not 11:40 they finally know what I am talking about and showed me where to to find the "music only / all" toggle. My problem is now fixed;
all these time, they have in front of them a screen shot of your questions and answer but they don't know where to change it from music only to all.
So, I hope this will save the next victim a lot of time.

I right clicked my iPod on iTunes and clicked restore from back up because i thought it would undo my IOS6 update. IT DELETED ALL MY PICTURES (2,000) AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET THEM BACK!!!! Please help me!!!!!
Well, if you have not backed them up, they are gone.

Excluding items from back up and Time Capsule not recognising ext HD
I'm relatively new to the world of Time Machine and Time Capsule. I have a 250Gb iMac, but because my iTunes library was becoming so large I purchased a Iomega 500Gb ext HD and transferred it over to this where it is currently occupying about 350Gb of space. I still have about 220Gb duplicated on my iMac at the moment as a kind of back up. I then discovered Time Machine and because there was only about 100Gb of space left on the ext HD to do back ups on I excluded my music and iTunes library from this. This has been going along fine for the past month.
I purchase a 2 TB Time Capsule (TC) yesterday. I reconfigured Time Machine to use the TC as the back up and I removed the excluded music/iTunes library so that everything would be backed up. As soon as I asked TM to back up it started excluding millions of items which I am assuming is related to the ext HD since when I turned this off it started to back up my iMac computer content correctly. However I want to be able to back up the stuff I have on my external HD so that I can eventually delete all the duplicated stuff off the iMac. I read a similar post on here about this and have tried deleting all the old TM backups but it is still not recognising the ext HD. I currently have it connected via an ethernet cable just to speed up the initial back up. Any help or explanations would be greatly appreciated.Dear Bob

Sorry, I am confused here. You mention that you have a new 2 TB Time Capsule, yet talk about trying to delete old TM backups. What old TM backups, if you have a new 2 TB Capsule? Can you clarify, please?

A bit more clarification here, please. When you refer to "it", do you mean Time Machine?
Time Machine will not backup an external drive connected to a Mac unless the drive has been formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Did you format the drive this way when you first got it?
If the drive was formatted as FAT32 when it was new, it would work OK if you attached it directly to your Mac. But if you want Time Machine to backup the Iomega drive attached to your computer, the drive must be formatted correctly to work with Time Machine.
If you have the drive attached to the Mac and you open Time Machine Preferences and click Options, can you "see" the Iomega drive and not select it, or can you not "see" it at all?
If you can "see" it, but it is grayed out so you cannot select it, the drive is not formatted correctly as mentioned above. If that is the case, you will somehow need to copy all of the data on the drive to another location, format the Iomega drive to use Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and then transfer the data back to the Iomega drive. Then, Time Machine will backup both your Mac and the external drive attached to your Mac. -

After upgrade the exchange 2010 SP1 to SP2, all users calendar and task items entries also moved to archive mailbox from user's active mailboxes.
We like to move 90 days older emails to archive mailbox but not calendar & task items to be moved.
Any solution to move back those older archive calendar and task items to active mailbox users and also any settings to stop further to move calendar & task items to archive mailbox in SP2?

Exchange 2010 SP2 RU4 added support for Calendar and Task Retiontion polices. For more information about that see the below blog post which also includes a workaround if you don't what these folders to be processed by MRM.

Not to include item from purchase order to the delivery order
Hi,
i need some guidance on above topic. The user requested to have the functionality not to include the item from purchase order to delivery order when the item having order balance quantity more than the available stock.
In other words, if a PO contains several items, those order balance quantity which is more than the available stock will not be included in the DO.
is the above scenario possible?

u can do it , but in this case u have to make use of user exit or BADI.
option 1 .
by using user exit , u can delete/change picking/confirm qty .
option2:
while doing the PGI , do can cross check stock avail with PO qty and raise error messages.

You carry on creating query in SQ01. When you maintain the selection screen for the report then exclude GR/IR Clearing account by going into multiple selection and save the layout so it will not bring GR/IR Open item.

How to drag and drop item from list to another item in list and change their positions

after drop item on another item the position of items should be change. (Example:- if I select 1st item from list and drag and drop this item to 4th item in list after drop that item position of both item should be changed 1st item on 4th position and 4th item on 1st position)

I do not believe that kind of option is built into the listboxes, but I was able to have similiar functionalities using property nodes. I have included an example program that I put together.
The big difference is that instead of dragging, you double click on the item you want to transfer. To highlight items as you go down the list, all you need to do is set the value to that list number.

I was wondering if an individual would be able to sync certain items from one itunes account and and items from a different itunes account to the same ipad?
You move the song files to /Users/Shared/ and then into iTunes from the other Mac OS X user account.
If you want to change the iTunes Store account associated with them, you need to redownload them from that account.

I updated my iphone 4 to ios7.04 in itunes. In itunes, it appears that all my data/apps/music/etc are on the phone (but I cannot see anything on phone itself except setup screens). I am getting the ios7 setup screen on my iphone. I have selected my language, selected my wifi netowork, enabled location services, and chosen resore from itunes back up. Next screen I get says to connec to itunes, which I did. In itunes, I select restore from backup. I then get a message that I need to disable "find my iphone " "Go to iCloud Settings on your iPhone and turn off Find My iPhone before restoring your iPhone." I cannot go to any settings on my iphone as I cannot get past the connect to iturnes screen! I have also tried not enabling location services and that made no difference. I cannot get to anyplace on my iphone except the ios setup first few screens. I am going crazy, there must be some simple thing I have missed! Any help appreciated!
I found a way to get to my data. So do not need remedy at this time.
fwiw, I changed my ios7.04 setup answer of restore from itunes to new iphone. Eventually that allowed me to set up icloud, then turn off find iphone, restore. Very strange ios update. -
