Excluding one dim-member from PoV

I have a Region dimension that I want to use as a PoV in an FR report. But, I want to exclude one particular region (e.g. Region1) from a this PoV, such that the PoV is (Total_Regions excluding Region1)
How do I do this? I tried to create a custom filter from the Region PoV's member selection in which I set the specific member (Region1) to 'NOT'. This does not work.
Appreciate any advise.
thanks,
Axe

You can't really group members using POV (either including or excluding).
However you could easily build an alternative hierarchy without Region1 and then reference that in the POV.

  • How may I exclude one add-on from checking for updates, while allowing all others to be able to check for updates?

    I have an add-on that I do not wish to update; as I am satisfied with the version I am using, and I am dissatisfied with the updated version.

    @cor-el, et al,
    I have set the Automatic Updates to 'off'. That is not helping.
    Perhaps I am not clearly explaining what I wish to accomplish?
    I '''''NEVER''''' allow any automatic updates on this machine; not Windows, not my AV, and certainly not Firefox or any of the extensions.
    Therefore, I hope that everyone understands that I want to exclude a certain extension from updating, '''''period'''''.
    No automatic update, no manual update, no update of any kind what-so-ever, at all, in perpetuity.

  • How to exclude one FileVault account from Backup (10.5.7)?

    Before 10.5.7 all users on this iMac were satisfied: Time Machine made backups of two accounts without FileVault and ignored the 3rd one that had FileVault enabled and makes incremental backups with another software.
    But since 10.5.7 every time the FV-account logs out Time Machine starts preparing a backup?? That's not what I want, and I cannot tell Time Machine to ignore this account.
    The FV-accounts was created as usual, got FileVault enabled and when anything worked the accounts folder was moved to another partition. A symlink that points to the folder on that partition was put in the location where the folder was before (/Users/). Anything worked fine, users had enough space for their work, backups...
    Then came 10.5.7 and Time Machine wants to backup the FileVault'ed account at every logout. Clicking 'cancel' when 'preparing backup' appears on the screen stops that. But it's unconfortable and I am sure there is another way to get this done. Can anyone please help me with this task?
    best regards.
    Harald

    Always thought that using a symlink cannot be the proper way to configure that account. Thank You for the instructions on how to do that the right way.
    What will happen to the current backups after deleting the Library/preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine.plist file? I have motnts of backup, and I don't want to lose them!
    When I make a new setup for TimeMachine will the existing backups be recogniced and will I be able to use them? It's too hot for 'try-and-look-what-will-happen'!
    Excluding the Volume where the filevaulted home directory is located in the current TM prefs didn't help. After logging out the filevaulted user the backup is starting.

  • Is it possible to exclude one video card from After Effects.  There are 2 in this system and one, I believe, does not have CUDA support.

    This system has 2 video cards.  A new nVidia Quadra 4000 and an older BlackMagic DeckLink Extreme 3D+. I would like After Effects to use only the nVidia card so I can take advantage of CUDA. Is there a preference I can set so that AE only uses the nVidia card?

    What version of After Effects do you have (down to the decimal points)?

  • MRP-Exclude STO document type from MRP Run

    Hi,
    I want to exclude STO document type from MRP run, so that STO Open qty will not be considered as open qty while  doing MRP.
    I have checked below settings but didn't worked.
    1. In OMI8 - I have unchecked "Stock in Transfer"
    2. SPRO->Materials Management->Consumption-based Planning->Planning->Define torage Location MRP per plant
         Here I have excluded ONE storage location from MRP and same storage location has been used in the STO.
    Can anyone know how to resolve this ?
    Regards,
    Rakesh

    Rakesh,
    Yes, they will not be relevant for MRP.  Neither will anything else in that storage location.  However, the setting is not in configuration, but in the material master (MRP4 tab).
    The configuration setting you mentioned has no impact on existing material masters, it is only used to determine the default settings for newly created storage location entries for a material/plant..
    You can set a particular material/plant/stlocn to be irrelevant for MRP.  This relevancy is irrespective of document type, it can be a STO, a purchase req, a sales order,  a production order, or it could be stock (inventory)  - all supply and demand in this material/plant/stlocn are excluded from MRP processing.
    MRP relevancy of storage location is set at the material/plant/storage location level in the material master.
    If you do not wish to exclude a storage location from MRP, then you will have to find another way to make your STOs Irrelevant for MRP.  As I said earlier, STOs (like any other Purchase orders that are configured to process stock ), are generally considered to be relevant for MRP.
    If you were a client, I would suggest that you rethink your business model that drives this requirement.
    If the business model cannot be altered, and the storage location solution is unacceptable, then you will be stuck with a customized solution.

  • How to exclude one or more than one member on report?

    Post Author: izhar
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
    Hi all group members, I am working on BOXI R2. I have to ask that, How to exclude one or more than one member from the report. I know there is function of filter, through which we can see our desired members and other remaining will be excluded, but that's filter. In some of tools i have seen just do right click on a specific member and click on "Exclude" option to exclude the member. Suppose i have placed a Time dimension on the report and standing on "Month Level" which has data from 1, 2, ... 7,8, ... 11, 12 Now i just have to exclude member 7 from the report. Can any member guide me here. Regards, Izhar

    Izhar,
    If you run the report in "modify" mode, then you have two options
    1) You can click on the "Show/Hide Filter Pane" button which opens up the "apply filter" pane.  From there you go to your Data panel and grab, drag, and drop an item from the Data panel into the apply filter pane and provide a constant or select a value to filter in or out from your report.
    2) You can highlight the column of data that you want to filter on, then click on the "Add Quick Filter" button.  Using the List of Values menu you either select one or multiple items that you want to include in the report.

  • How to exclude one or more rows of SQL report from sorting?

    In my SQL report I want to exclude one row from sorting. This row must be permanently at the bottom of the report.
    How to achieve this?
    Regards,
    Al

    Hi Al,
    Check out this thread: Sort within Break? I was looking to preserve a basic sort for break purposes, but the same solution should work for keeping one row at the bottom.
    Let me know if you'd like more details.

  • How to Use COLUMN NOPRINT - need to exclude one column from Select *

    Dear Friends,
    I need to exclude one column from a SELECT * query. Everytime the column data type is BLOB, I dont' want it to be part of my SELECT. After googling I found some info about NOPRINT but it doesn't seem to be working in my case. May be I am using it incorreclty.
    COLUMN FILE_DESC NOPRINT
    SELECT * FROM FILES;
    Where FILE_DESC is of BLOB datatype.Can I use it in my SELECT or it has to be used in Dynamic SQL? Is there any other option to achieve this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    COLUMN FILE_DESC NOPRINT
    affects all queries in the same SQL*Plus session (unless you cancel it with a COLUMN FILE_DESC PRINT command.)  It doesn't matter if those queries are static or dynamic.  As mentioned before, COLUMN is a SQL*Plus command.  If you using a different front end, then it may have a different way to hide specific output columns.
    Did you have a poroblem when you tried it?  Post a complete test script that the people who want to help you can use to re-create the problem and test their ideas.

  • Exclude one field from application.cfm loop

    i am using a cfloop collection tag in the application cfm file to loop through and remove special charachters from submitted forms for xss protection. I want to exclude one or two fields from this because they are date time fields so can't have all the restrictions all of the other fields can. I am picturing something like
    <cfloop collection="blah" item="blahblah">
         <cfif field name is not one of the date time fields>
    < general remove bad charachters code>
         <cfelseif field name is one of date time fields>
    <remove special charachters code>
    </cfif>
    </cfloop
    how do i get the field name to use in the condition above?

    Ummm...
    <cfloop collection="form" item="field">
    <cfif field NEQ "aDateField" AND field NEQ "bDateField" AND field NEQ "cDateField">
       Processs the non-date fields
    <cfelse>
      Process the date fields
    </cfif>
    </cfloop>
    Or slightly easier to maintain.
    <cfloop collection="form" item="field">
    <cfif NOT ListFind(field, "aDateField,bDateField,cDateField")>
       Processs the non-date fields
    <cfelse>
      Process the date fields
    </cfif>
    </cfloop>
    Or the best yet, would be to provide the list you are checking against from sometype of data repository where it is easy to maintain, like a database or configuration or something.  But I will leave that exercise to you to figure out.

  • Data File-- atleast one member from each dimension is it mandatory??

    Is it mandatory to have atleast one member each dimension in the data file that is used for loading into the Cube?If we leave one member from a dimension is it going to create a problem?So, If I want to load with different data files for different members of measures & is there any way to avoid extraneous member ( from one Dimension, the reason is cuz there are 2 dimensions out of which one may need not be actually included in the text file ) in the data file??Your views about this will be appreciated!!Thanks

    In a load rule file, you can create something called a header - which can be used to specify member(s) that do not appear in the data file.To specify a header, choose Options / Data Load Settings / Header Definition. The caveat is that you can only choose one member from the missing dimension - you cannot specify multiple members from the same dimension. If that is the case, then the members will have to be in the data file.Regards,Jade---------------------------------Jade ColeSenior Business Intelligence ConsultantClarity [email protected]

  • Possible to Exclude a specific intersection from DATAEXPORT?

    Version: 11.1.2.2
    Is it possible to Exclude a specific intersection from a DATAEXPORT in an Essbase Calc Script? I am able to exclude a member but I only want to exclude 1 intersection.
    Simplified Cube:
    Fund
    Dimension
    Center
    Dimension
    Account
    Dimension
    F1
    C1
    A1
    F2
    C2
    A2
    Working export:
    FIX (@relative("Fund",0), @relative(Center,0), @relative(Account,0))
           DATAEXPORT "File" "," "F:\TMP\Exp_Central.txt" "#Mi";
    ENDFIX
    Trying to exclude only the intersection of F2, C1, A1 (i know it doesn't work this way):
    FIX (@relative("Fund",0), @relative(Center,0), @relative(Account,0))
      EXCLUDE ("F2", "C1", "A1")
           DATAEXPORT "File" "," "F:\TMP\Exp_Central.txt" "#Mi";
      ENDEXCLUDE
    ENDFIX
    desired output:
    F1,C1,A1
    F1,C1,A2
    F1,C2,A1
    F1,C2,A2
    F2,C1,A1 I want this line excluded
    F2,C1,A2
    F2,C2,A1
    F2,C2,A2
    This is extremely simplified (I have multiple intersections to exclude, and a large cube) but should adequately pose the question. This process is moving data cube to cube. As an alternative I was thinking on the target cube I could just do a [FIX...CLEARDATA]. I have been searching for an answer and can't seem to find one, can anyone here offer advice?

    You can exclude a combination but not a specific intersection. EXCLUDE ("F2", "C1", "A1") will exclude F2, C1 and A1 completely.
    As Evgeniy.Rasyuk said, you have to use a different way to achieve it.
    You may achieve it using a rule file. I haven't tried it but you can give a try
    1. create a new text field in rule file which you use to load the data
    2. Join all the fields of dimensions related to F2,C1,A1. (remember to ignore this field during dataload
    3. use reject on the filed to exclude F2C1A1 to load to your database.
    The other way is what you have said to clear the data once it is loaded. Easiest and a simple way

  • Unable to open the member selection(pov)

    Hi,
    We are facing a critical issue and we are using FR 9.2 Version:
    Issue:
    We have FR Reports and Books in Workspace, when we try to open a Book or Report from workspace it asks for the POV to select. If we select member from the selection for the first time it opens. While trying to re open the same it hangs there giving blank screen and status of it goes on no result if we wait what ever may be the time. When we tried to open from studio its working fine even if we select multiple no of times also. We also tried to restat the services multiple no of times but no use. Is there any option to work it proper.
    We have tried to create the books once again but of no use.

    Hi,
    I have tried all these. Everything looks fine when you try to run from studio. I also saved the pov's once again but not working.
    Atlast we have done in this way, we created new books using the same old reports and gave security for the new books its working fine now. But in case if you touch the old book and run the new book same old problem persists. why i dont know.

  • Interactive report: Can I exclude a particular column from single row view?

    Hi -- I posted on this yesterday (Possible to exclude interactive report column from single row display?
    a bit anxious for suggestions, I guess!
    I've added a column with edit-link functionality to my interactive report query (that is, the link
    is not attached to the database data... it's an additional column and shows an icon). It's also
    in addition to the default single row view link. (We need both.)
    Unfortunately, the Edit link column shows up in the single row view. I've pared it down as much
    as I can: the label is empty, and the null value shows as "-". But an extra row with "-" is pretty
    ugly. Is there a way to always, completely exclude this column from the single row view?
    I know I could put the edit link on a data column, but:
    1) I want the link to always be to the left of the data (and the user can re-order columns)
    2) when the user doesn't have edit privileges, the link will need to be disabled or just not
    be displayed, and I think that would be a problem if the link were on the data. (true?)
    Thanks,
    Carol

    Please disregard this thread, and the one it refers back to. I see a flaw in the design of what I was attempting to do! Creating the link for Editing as a column means the user could inadvertently not display it, or move it, or... any number of problematic scenarios.
    Thanks,
    Carol

  • How can I delete only shared instance of a member from Hyperion Planning

    Hello,
    Can anyone tell me how I can instruct the Hyperion Planning IKM to delete a only specific instance of a shared member from Hyperion Planning? I've tried specifying the shared member, the parent of the shared instance, 'Shared' as the data storage type, and 'Delete level 0' as the operation. Instead of deleting just the shared instance under the specified parent, however, the IKM deleted the base member, which in turn deleted all shared instances of the member and all the data for the member (lucky thing I'm working in a development environment!). At one point I thought I had things working as I wanted, but now I think I must have mistaken.
    Does anyone know definitively whether only a specific instance of a shared member can be deleted from Planning and, if so, exactly how to do it?
    Thanks very much.

    Well, with a careful review of my ODI interfaces and some additional testing I found my problem. My interface for one dimension was defined exactly as it should be and it worked as expected, whereas I found I had failed to activate the mapping for the data storage property in my interface for another dimension (DOH!). Naturally, the latter interface deleted the base member because the default data storage property value is 'Store'.
    Thanks for testing and confirming that deleting only a specific shared instance of a member from Hyperion Planning does work, John.
    (P.S. to John: I can't see how to change my "Helpful" tag on your first reply to "Correct", so if you want to post another reply, I'll mark it "Correct" (for more points!). Or, if you can tell me how to modify the "Helpful" tag to "Correct" I'll do that instead.)
