  • How to authenticate oracle application user from third party application -

    Hi All!
    I am using OC4J as a J2EE container with an Oracle Applications setup (11.5.10, LINUX version). This is for an application which gets called from Oracle Applications. We need the user, responsibility and session information of Oracle applications to be passed on to our application which is running on a different port in OC4J. We are unable to get the information when we call our application from a menu option in Oracle Applications.
    Various papers have been mentioning mod_oc4j.so module, which we are unable to find in our Oracle Applications setup.
    Any help as to
    (1) where we can download and install mod_oc4j.so from and
    (2) passing the above mentioned information to our application running on the OC4J port will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply, but i don't wanna see that user in my list then what should i do??? This is not possible, you cannot delete the user from the application.
    if i set end for that user in that form then anyway the user will be there and visible....am i right??? please correct me if i am wrong...Correct.
    is it so that when the end date is passed, the user will be deleted from list which is shown in user management form??No, you will still see the user in the form/table.

  • Restroring unity conneciton application users in CMBE

    hi,
    I think i am in a bit of a mess here, deleted the operator and undeliverablemessagesmailbox application users from cucm. unity connection now shows the operator user as as an orphaned account. Tried recreating the "operator" unity application user under cucm, but the operator account under unity connection is still not reassociating with the new "operator" application user account. how can revert back the operator account to its default configuration ?
    Reassociated the undeliverablemessagesmailbox account under unity to a different user, need to change this as well and set the configuration to the way it was by deafult.
    Appreciate all the help i can get.
    Thanks.

    You can have LDAP integrated users and local users on UCXN, if user was created initially by importing from LDAP, but then the user was deleted in LDAP within 48 hour that user is converted to local user. You can check that by searching the user in UCXN admin page and looking at the "LDAP Integration Status" setting on the main page.

  • How do I restrict users from installing applications?

    Or more specifically, yahoo messenger. I can't seem to figure this one out. Two user settings on our machines (public and admin), public does not have admin priveleges, so cannot make modifications like installing applications, but someone seems to keep installing messenger all the same. I investigated and figured out that it seems like when logged onto the public account, one can still install applications in their user/applications folder without needing to authenticate. or maybe Yahoo Messenger doesn't read as an application, so it doesn't need authetication? I am trying to make it so no one can install any application without admin priveleges.

    "Parental Controls" works on a "white list" principle, so if an app isn't available in the "Accounts" pref pane, it shouldn't be accessible for the "managed" user because the default is to deny everything not on the list.
    But also be aware that the type of "Parental Controls" you have selected may affect the user's ability to use a given programme. For example, if the "Allow supporting programmes" checkbox is selected, it may be possible to launch indirectly a programme that hasn't been approved explicitly.
    Also, note that a "Simple Finder" account doesn't (and isn't intended to) restrict application access at all, whereas a "Some Limits" account does.
    And as "Keith Gaboury1" points out, if a given service allows access through a web interface, restriction of a programme on the local computer won't have any effect.
    "Parental Controls" are somewhat effective in preventing users from using unauthorized programmes, but as far as preventing the installation of apps, that is something that would be fairly difficult to do if the user is to have a functional account. If a user can save files to a directory (such as their home folder or "/Users/Shared" or the "admin" user's "Drop Box"), it would be possible for them to install an application there. There are ways of preventing executables in the user's own "home" from functioning, but then they could always run an app from a CD or a flash drive or a disk image instead (I'm not sure how to block those). So the "white list" approach of controlling application use (as opposed to installation) is probably the best compromise.

  • Can administrator log out a user from application

    Hi
    My application has functionality to display all the logged in users of the application. This screen ia available to only administrators of the application. Now can the administrator logout any of the logged in users from his own screen? If yes then how?
    Could you please give me some pointers?
    Thanks & Regards
    Inder Jeet Singh

    there are several ways an administrator can do that. but that depends on the way you manage your sessions.
    how are you getting the list of logged users? if it is from the database based on some field in some table then you can give the functionality to administrator to set that value to the logged out status(or whatever you are using).
    but that depends on the way your application is keeping trak of the logged users.

  • Application user RMCM was found to be deleted from CUCM but agents unable to log into ACD queue was reported 2 weeks later

    Hello All, During an investigation Application user RMCM was found to be deleted from CUCM as per CUCM logs but the first issue of agents unable to log into ACD queue was reported 2 weeks later following a publisher reboot, I am trying to understand what could have caused this ? The reboot obviously could not have made any changes but the logs says RMCM users deleted on 09 May but issue was reported on 20 May and in the meantime services were said to be working without interruption . Can i have some suggestion to understand this to explain customer ?

    The RMCM user being deleted might not have triggered a JTAPI update on the UCCX side.  The publisher reboot which restarted CTIManager would have definitely triggered the update and forced UCCX to re-authenticate with the now non-existent user.

  • Creating or copying application express users from development environment

    Hello,
    Hope someone can answer my question soon.
    I am kind of new to the application express development and to Oracle database too ( about 8 month). I developed an application on development environment at my work. Now it's time to deploy this application to test and production environment. This application is secured so I had an ACL page were I setup 2 users that they can view and edit data, and I setup myself as an admin for this application.
    I succsessfully deployed the application on the test and production environment but I cannot login and not other users. How do I setup or to copy same users from Development to production environment.
    I am using apex 3.0.1 and database 10g.
    on Development I have workspace called development and the schema is DEV. For production I have a workspace called production and the schema called prod. So I am dealing with different 2 workspaces and 2 different schemas but one database instance.
    Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    Kind Regards,
    Sofia.

    Hello,
    APEX has a utility to export the workspace and the users. In the application, go to export/import --> export --> workspace users (this is not the default view, and you’ll need to choose it). This will generate a SQL script you can import into the source instance.
    In general, it’s best to keep the same environment in the development (test) and production instances – The same workspace ID, name, and application ID. These are pre-condition to be allowed to import single page/components between the instances. Otherwise you will have to import the entire application, each time you need to update the application.
    In case you can’t maintain the same environment in your instances, you’ll need to manually edit the exported script. If the workspace already exist, you need to delete the ‘Workspace’ section. Then you’ll need to edit the user details, setting the default schema correctly.
    Hope this helps,
    Arie.

  • Nu such object error when load the user from application

    Hi..everybody
    I'm new comer at Sun ONEDirectory Server
    I've a problem when try to get the user from my application
    I use ..getAttribute("cn=username");
    always appear No Such Object, whereas I've created that user
    Thanks

    Hi,
    The best way would be to first run an ldapsearch command on the directory server to check whether the user is present and then try to check it with your application.
    You can use something like:
    #ldapsearch -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w <password> -b "cn=username,o=users, dc=example,dc=com" "objectclass=*"
    Cheers,

  • I need to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the application pages

    Hi^^,
    I have created an application in jsp and servlets. It has several pages like manager, supervisor accountant. I need to prevent unauthorised users from accessing these pages. In other words I need to implement a filter. Anyone who types a url other than that of the login page needs to be blocked. However I am not able to conceptualize the code that is going to be inside the doFilter() method. Please help
    Sincerely,
    Prashant

    Hi^^,
    I admit that there were some mistakes in the previous posting. I have corrected the mistakes and now there is going to be no compile time error. However when i put in the login id and the password it is redirecting me to the login page. I think that the front end jsp is directing the control to the controller servlet. But as "YOU" have pointed out in your previous post,
    "by default requestDispatcher.forward(...) does not pass through the filter change. If the user requests the login page from their browser however, then they will still get the error message, which may not be appropriate."
    I feel we need to somehow make the code pass through the requestDispatcher.forward(...) method of the servlet.
    I am again posting the corrected code.
    package com;
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class SecurityFilter implements Filter
      public void doFilter(ServletRequest request, ServletResponse response, FilterChain chain) throws   ServletException, IOException
      HttpServletRequest req = (HttpServletRequest)request;
      HttpServletResponse res = (HttpServletResponse)response;
      String X = req.getRequestURI();
      if(X.equals(http://localhost:8080/MyProject/LoginPage.jsp))
         //writing code for passing through the filter
         final class MyGenericFilter implements javax.servlet.Filter
          public FilterConfig filterConfig;
          public void doFilter( final ServletRequest request, final ServletResponse response, FilterChain chain) throws java.io.IOExeption, javax.servlet.ServletException
          chain.doFilter(request,response);
          public void init(final FilterConfig filterConfig)
          this.filterConfig = filterConfig;
          public void destroy()
    else
       HttpSession session = req.getSession();
       String username = (String)session.getAttribute("username");
       if(null==username)
         request.setAttribute("Error","Session has ended. Please login");
         RequestDispatcher rd = request.getRequestDispatcher("Login.jsp");
         rd.forward(request,response);
         chain.doFilter(request,response);
        else
         RequestDispatcher rd = request.getRequestDispatcher("X");
         rd.forward(request,response);
    public void init(final FilterConfig filterConfig)throws ServletException
          public void destroy()

  • Auditing Alternatives with Application User Tracking

    I'm looking for an auditing solution that does exactly what Change Data Capture (CDC) does, except I need it to also track the application user that made the change.  I'm currently using SQL Server 2012 Enterprise and may be upgrading to 2014 later
    this year.
    We already have an auditing solution in place that leverages Delete, Insert, and Update triggers, but some new requirements might force us to update every audit trigger and corresponding audit table.  Given various problems we've run in to with that
    solution over the years, this seems like as good a time as any to reevaluate and potentially replace the solution.
    To give you an idea of what I'm currently working with (and may be able to leverage), we use a stored procedure (ConnectionInitialize) to store a user id with a SPID in a table (ApplicationUser) and then we delete the row using another stored procedure (ConnectionReset)
    once we're done making our deletes, inserts, and updates.
    Were we to use CDC, I looked into adding a trigger to something like the cdc.lsn_time_mapping table, but I couldn't find a way to map the LSN back to the SPID (and therefore the user id) that was being used.  This also presented some other issues in
    that CDC is always a little bit behind.
    I looked into SQL Server Audit a little bit, but that presented some challenges of its own.  We're using Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) to appease some of our security requirements, but SQL Server Audit looks like it'd need a separate encryption
    strategy; that and I'm more interested in the columns than in the actual SQL statements.  Even so, these aren't deal-breakers for me, so I'm still looking into it.
    Given what I'm trying to accomplish, does anyone have any feedback or recommendations?  I realize that there's another
    post that addresses what I'm trying to accomplish.  Unfortunately, adding some sort of "modified by" column to all of our tables isn't a very good option for us.  Given the fact that, that thread was resolved 2 years ago, I'm hoping
    there will be some new ideas.

    Microsoft does not have a good auditing story. CDC can tell you what was changed, but not my whom. And while SQL Audit can tell you who made the change, it can in the general case not tell you want change; you will only see parameter values.
    What is left? Running your own triggers, I'm afraid.

  • How many users from an application can connect to a SQL server at a time?

    HI,
        I need to know , How many users from an application can connect to a SQL server at a time? Do we have any settings for this in SQL server for limiting the users?

    This is a difficult question, since it is both technical and legal.
    The absolute maximum number of connections is around 32700, but unless your server is very beefy, it will choke long before that. A connection is not a user - an application can have many connections for the same user. Depending on your license
    model, you may be legally limited to a certain number of users, but this number is not enforced technially.

  • Removing admin user from planning application

    Hi,
    i have a small question that possibly u can answer easily.
    in workflow process when users click "change status", at promote and approve "admin" user comes up with in combo-box.
    we are sharing shared services with another project team so i dont wanna show "admin" to my users in that list cos i have "plnadmin" as application owner.
    by the way "admin" was deprovisioned from planning applications on HSS such that he cannot log-in to planning application. (user doesnot exists for this application message.)
    but he still exists in workflow process combo-boxes and "Administration->Application Settings->Assign application Owner" combo-box.
    how can i remove him ?
    thx,
    Version: 11.1.1.2

    Hi,
    In theory it should remove the admin user if they have been deprovisioned and the application owner assigned to another user. I did a quick check on 11.1.1.3 and it removed the admin user from the workflow and tables.
    Maybe it has not removed the user because a workflow was already in progress even though it worked for me.
    There are probably a number of ways to try and removing the user e.g. try restart planning service and log into the application to see if it syncs up with shared services (it should do if the property SYNC_USER_ON_LOGON is set to true, which is default for planning)
    Try stopping the workflow process and run a refresh, or go to access permissions for a member and click migrate identities to see if it clears the table.
    Final stage would be to manually remove from the repository tables.
    (sorry if I have not covered all areas, I sure somebody will give you different ideas or repeat what I say)
    Cheers

  • Prevent user from closing the applications

    Hello,
    we would like to deploy to our users web application using Internet Explorer which is published over RemoteApps. Because this application takes long time to load we would like to prevent user from closing application. So we would like that session and application
    stays opened when the user clicks on close button on Internet Explorer that is published over RemoteApps.
    In other words, we would like to disconnect client from RemoteApp session, but stay logged in and keep the application running in the background.
    Is this possible to do?
    Thank you!
    Best wishes,

    Hello,
    thank you all for your answer. I guess this is not a good news. Any other idea how to solve this problem - to start Internet Explorer web application as soon as possible.
    Last week I have found a VB script on one forum that would close the RemoteApp Windows without closing the appliaction on server but I can't find it today. Does anybody know something about this script?
    Thank you!
