Exe program closes itself after one second from starting

Greetings
I've downloaded some school educational programs, and I've having 2 problems in playing them:
1- each time I click the run.exe file, it asks to download shockwave. I did download it several times, but it keeps asking the same and refuses to start.
I tried this in 2 different computers, one running Windows 7, and the other Windows XP pro. I tried several player versions, 9, 10 and 11 all with no luck.
2- I tried to change to compatibilty mode for Windows 98/Me. This made it start, but only for one second then it closed itself immediately with no error messages or anything.
Is there any solution for this please? I need those programs for my kids.

When i double-click the mozilla icon, it doesn't start. In the task manager i noted that the process "firefox.exe" appears and desappear after 5 seconds. The problem remains in mozilla safe-mode, but not in windows safe-mode. Thks!

Yesterday i installed the firefox 6.0 on my windows 7 computer. When i double-click the mozilla icon, it doesn't start. I opened the task manager and noted that the process "firefox.exe" appears and desappear after 5 seconds. I tried to start mozilla in safe mode but the problem remains. The only way to use mozilla in my computer is restarting the windows in safe-mode. Last thing: i already tried to reinstall the program. Please help me!

I'm also using Windows 7 on a Lenovo U310 laptop.

Similar issue Andrew. After installing 8.0, the IOS deleted 225 songs from one of my playlists, and I'm still "recalling" songs that are no longer in my Music Library. Fortunately, although the playlist of 235 had only 6 songs left on it ( on my Mac), the Playlist was not erased from my I -Phone. I was able to recreate the Playlist on my Mac, using the intact playlist on my phone. When I synched however, I was back to square one. I went to the Apple store, and I had to reset the phone . We also downloaded IOS 8.02. They saved my playlist in the Cloud, deleted it from my Mac, then synched it. Lo and behold, the playlist I recreated on my Mac, synched to my I Phone. After the reset, I had like 11GB of free space. (Its been 5 days since the "reset" and the number of GBs fluctuates from day to day !!)
When I got home from the Apple store I spent after hours reinstalling all the apps, synchng the phone to the Bluetooth in my car ( you know the rest of the saga) , I purchased a song from I Tunes. I "drag and dropped" it into a Playlist, and synched. Didn't work. Song shows in "Recently Added", but the drag and drop feature doesn't work. Bottom line, I'm not willing to "reset" my phone every time I add a song ! I've tried any number of fixes posted to this support community, but none have worked for me.
Furthermore, it took me 3 hours to get the phone re-synched to the Bluetooth system in my car. However every time I connect to "Bluetooth Audio", the system needs to "find" and "reconnect to" my phone. If you ( or anyone else ) finds something that might work for both the music synch and /or the Bluetooth, I'd appreciate your input.

Starts up, Sleep Light Comes On, then Shuts Down After ONE Second

I was using the Macbook Pro in Target Disk Mode using a external monitor, and when I was done I had to open the case to shut it down. I then pressed the power button to start it up regularly and shut the case again. The computer acted like it went to sleep, so I figured I needed to keep the case open when starting.
As soon as I hit the power button again, the sleep light came on and the optical drive made a little noise, and after one second the light went off and everything shut down again. If I HOLD the power button down then the sleep light stays on for five seconds, flashes rapidly for two seconds, goes off for one second, then back on for a second before finally shutting completely down again. Repeatable.
I do have a Snow Leopard DVD in the drive, but that shouldn't make any difference. I can't eject it either by holding down the eject button while powering up.
I've tried removing battery and power and holding down the power button for a long time. No help.
Any ideas on how to get it alive again?

No start-up chime.
The only noise that can be heard is the hard disk and the optical drive powering up, the power LED lights up, then ONE second after hitting the power button it shuts itself off.
The best way I could think to duplicate getting it in this state is to press the power-on button and immediately shut the display lid. I would assume the timing of closing the lid has to be right at an inopportune time in the startup sequence.

Shooting a video works sometimes, but sometimes it shuts off after one second without recording any video

Have had the Turbo Droid for only 3 days and just tried to shoot video. Twice it worked, but more often it seems to begin recording, but shuts off after one second without recording anything.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong to cause this to happen.

Haven't seen any error messages. Occasionallly, but only rarely, the video will record 1-2 frames, but most of the time it just shuts down. I have tried it with and without the rubber-grip case; taking off the case had no effect. The video still would not function.
When you tap the video camera icon, it tries to shoot video and seems to begin to record, but one (or two) second(s) later, it beeps and stops. Rarely with a frame or so of video; mostly nothing is recorded.
The still camera works great! Love being able to touch it anywhere to grab a snap.
BTW, my partner and I got identical phones at the same time last week. His video has the exact same problems as my phone.
Another point: I downloaded the Google Camera and can shoot video just fine through that camera. But not through the stock Motorola camera that came with the Droid Turbos.
I'm starting to think we got phones from a defective batch.
What do you think?

Extension Manager 5.5 crashing after one second

Extension Manager 5.5 crashes after one second. I need to create a barcode for indesign; bought software that says you can create it directly in InDesign. But I can't open the .xzp file. It opens the Extension Manager which instantly crashes with the message "Extension Manager quit unexpectedly." I've tried it many times. I tried re-intalling AdobeExtensionManager5.5All.dmg,but when I click on the "install" icon, I get, “Install.app” can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image."
I'm stuck in an endless loop. Please help, I have a deadline due today. I'm running 10.8.5.

You have to update Extension Manager CS5.5 to 5.5.3. You can get the 5.5.3 patch from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_updates/.

If Photoshop crashes the should be a System crash report generated by your OS. For example Windows

ITunes program closes immediately after opening.

Don't know if anyone is able to help, but I have downloaded the latest iTunes program and now everytime I open the program it immediately closes. It is too fast in closing to click on anything within the program. I contacted Technical support who told me to uninstall and reinstall, which I did, but that hasn't solved the problem. Is it a problem unique to me, or a problem with the program. Any ideas on how to solve it?

I have checked Quicktime and that appears to be working normally.
I have checked Task Manager Processes tab while starting iTunes and iTunes.exe appears as the program is opening, but disappears when the program closes.
I have run a full system scan, and apart from a 'tracking cookie' that I fixed, the system is clean.
I then went to the link that you suggested and started to 'troubleshoot'. I initially created a New User Account, and was able to determine that the problem DID NOT occur in the new account. As such, I went to 'User-Specific Troubleshooting'.
I deleted the SC Info.sidb file as directed with no change to the problem. I also removed 'iTunes Plug-ins' as directed with no luck in fixing the problem, as well I removed 'iTunes preference files' with no luck either.
I am unable to 'Recreate my iTunes Library', or 'Check for content files with issues' as directed in the next step as the iTunes program problem that I have only has the program opening for one second before closing.
Again, I really am thankful for your reply, and any other assistance or advice you are able to provide to help fix the problem would also be greatly appreciated.

Program Closes if I Drag Music from iTunes

My iDVD '08 program closes as soon as I attempt to drag music from iTunes into the DVD clip for sound/music. I have made previous DVDs in the past using this program and have never had this problem. Steps I have taken so far:
1. Restarted the computer;
2. Checked for updates to the program/computer (everything up-to-date);
3. Attempted to save the project under a different name;
4. Started an entirely new project.
None of these steps have worked so far. Any suggestions?

Welcome to apple discussions. First quit iDvd. Then drag and drop the plist for iDvd to the trash if you haven't already, restart your mac and then repair permissions from apple's disc utility.

You state you have run software updater already, Good. Now I'd like you Not to turn off your mac for at least 24 hours. Set energy saver controls to never. Screen saver is ok but do not allow the hard drive to sleep. Then try iDvd again. Sometimes it takes a while for the OS to fully index so please be patient.
Please verify you have no less than 25 GB's of available hard drive space remaining on the boot volume (your main HD). Otherwise all of the above is in vain.

Playback in Premier Elements 12 stops after one second

The play button will only play one second in more than one project, more than one video type. This is a recent development (related to an update perhaps) as it was working last time I used it a couple of weeks ago.

How about some more information?
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
•Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed? How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
•Has this ever worked before? If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.? Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?
And some other questions...
•What are you editing, and does your video have a red line over it BEFORE you do any work?
•Have you viewed the tutorial links at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1275830 page?
•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?

IPod reboots itself after one particular track.

Hi,
I've tried finding the answer through Google, but had no luck.
My iPod touch reboots itself after I choose to play a particular track. It happens as soon as the track has finished playing. It's strange because it only happens if I manually select this track to be played- it doesn't happen when the iPod selects it (like when it's on shuffle). I bought the song from iTunes so I'm sure it's not corrupt and this didn't happen with my iPod nano...

If you are charging it via a computer, that's normal. You are making a connection to the computer and it will show the "do not disconnect" screen. After disconnection, it reverts to the main menu.
If you charge via the wall charger, it will 'remember' where you left off.

Pictures change contrast after one second when viewing

when I browse RAW photos in lightroom the pictures first look natural then after a second the image gets a bit more contrast.
does AdobeLightroom auto correct the pictures somehow?

(I don't have CS2, so I'm assuming I couldn't run the FORS script myself in Elements, even if I had a color checker.)

As I said, I know I'm oversimplifying matters for a complex problem here. :) I was just wondering if there wasn't a way that Adobe could analyze that embedded jpeg, compare it to a small jpeg of its own, then map the color differences to get a similar result. Its beyond me, HOW to do that exactly or if that would even be possible, just an idea. I DO know, however, that other RAW converters (Rawshooter, ie) seem to do bit better (for my camera, at least)... so they obviously are doing some trickery that Adobe isn't.
As I said, I try to complain regularly to Canon to allow 3rd parties to at least read SOME of their currently proprietary information. Won't do any good, I'm sure, but at least I've lodged a complaint.
(I don't care if picture styles, in camera saturation values, etc. come across, but from what I've read, some manufacturers calibrate each camera as it comes off the line, and that data gets embeded into their "proprietary" metadata which only their software can understand... what we need is some enterprising individual to hack that data, and figure out how to apply it to Camera Raw.)
