Execute calc in background not working

Essbase version 9.3.1 running on Red Hat Linux. When I'm in EAS and check the "Execute in the background" box I get the message if what launched in the background with a Process ID but no calc kicks off, nothing in the app log file, nothing shows up when I look at background processes, no session when I look at server. The calc runs fine if I don't select to run in the background.
Anyone else run across this or am I missing something?

I had the identical issue and received the below fix from Oracle Support, which worked. I thought I'd put the fix up here, since the forums were my first stop when I had the problem.
1. There will be a file called Workstatus.xml in the EAS server
2. Search for this file
3. Rename the file or cut and paste this file to a different location.Restart the EAS server
4. Run the calc in background it will work fine
And it did! This was on Windows Server 2003, Essbase 9.3.1.2.
Thanks,

    hi

have you checked in the debug mode, if you have checked in the debug mode check wheather it is giving any error before data is displaying in the screen, if any error is displaying as a message than check that error why it is coming there.
If no error is coming than check your flow of the bdc screen in the debug mode , there must be some prob, so that it is not working in the background.

  • Transfer from Lightroom to Photoshop for executing a picture does not work

Execute a picture from Lightroom to Photoshop das not work. Picture is not opened in Photoshop. What could be the reason?

First: Go to <Edit >Preferences >General tab / Prompts and click on <Reset all Warning Dialogs>.
Then do Edit in Photoshop again. Do you get a dialog box? What does it say?
And which version of Photoshop is this?
If it is not CS6 but a prior version, you have to select <Render using Lightroom>; <Open anyway> doesn't work with CS5 or earlier CS.
The reason is that CS5 has not the latest ACR, but Lr 4.3 has. That means that CS5 cannot open a Raw image sent from Lr 4.3.
The solution is to let Lr 4.3 create the PSD (or TIFF) and send it to CS5. This is done by selecting <Render using Lightroom>.

  • Save in Background not working in CS6

Do not see that the Save In Background is working.  I have 300MB Tiff files that are being saved to the local harddisk in Windows 7 with CS6.  It takes about 10 seconds to save the file both with and without Save in the Background being selected.

I don't think "save in the background" is meant to save files faster, but to allow you to work on other files as you are saving another.

  • Desktop Backgrounds not working properly in Aperture/Mountain Lion

If I set my desktops with the default Apple backgrounds, all works well.  I can log out and back in and the backgrounds are retained.
If I use the "change desktop background" dialogue box and set the backgrounds to photos from the Aperture library, when I log out and back in, all the backgrounds have reverted to the standard Mountain Lion background.
If I open Aperture (in Desktop 2) and select a photo, I can do File/Share/Set desktop and that will change Desktop 2 (but none of the other desktops) to the current image.  THEN if I restart, desktop 2 will have retained the background I've chosen.
I've spoken to the Apple tech support, but only the Mountain Lion people can help me.  They tried repairing permissions, terminal commands and all sorts but it didn't work.
The guy on Aperture support sent me some standard articles but nothing specific, and as my copy of Aperture is more than 90 days old he can't help any further.  I am running the latest version, 3.3.2.  I've done all the basics like rebuilding the library and repairing permissions etc... I've deleted the aperture preference file, and the desktop preference file.  All to no avail.
    Anyone help?  Please!
    Thanks,
    Mark

Success!  Well sort of.  I went into Mission Control Preference Pane (in System Preferences) and fiddled about with a few ticks. The one that seemed to make the difference was the one called Show Dashboard As A Space.  Make sure it's ticked.  This is a bit of a bummer if you want multiple desktops with different personalised photo backgrounds but you don't want the dashboard as a space.  It's still a fault Apple! So if someone finds this solved their issues then please don't mark the post as "this solved my problem", maybe just "this helped".
Because the issue is not resolved for those who don't want the dashboard as a space - those people can only have Apple's own backgrounds on their desktops!  And it is worth point out that without the Show Desktop As Space box ticked, even with Mission Control set to just one background, the Aperture photo would not be reatained through log out and restart etc. AND the actual Desktop/Screen Saver preference dialogue box didn't work properly, taking ages to select a picture and the picture not changing on the background itself until the user threatens to exit the box.  As I say though it all went swimmingly with the Show desktop as space box ticked.
Dear oh dear Apple, with every step "forward" you take there's always the odd lurch backwards into the murky days of Windows 1.0!

  • HP Revolve 810 - HP Executive Tablet Pen Does Not Work

Any suggestions as to how to get the Revolve 810 to recognize the Executive Tablet Pen in "tablet mode" to be able to take handwritten notes in an application like Microsoft One Note? I have been unable to get my HP Executive Tablet Pen to work with One Note since I purchased the laptop approx. a month ago?
Any pointers/suggestions will be most appreciated.
    Thanks.

He mentioned that it was a Revolve 810. That's an Enterprise product.

  • Photo Booth backgrounds not working

My backgrounds in Photo Booth don't seem to be working right, assuming I'm doing it right. I can't find any kind of tutorial on it on the Apple web site. When I choose the background, and it says to step out of the frame, I do so, but then when I return to the frame, my face is totally pixelated and some of the surrounding background bleeds through. What I am doing wrong?

    Everyone is having this problem.
Yes the demo on the apple website looks perfect, but not for us who try it.
It doesn't matter if you have bags of memory, fast processor, everyone still gets this problem. Some have improved the situation by moving and changing lights to different positions or put a plain background behind them. But overall pixelated and holes appear. Hopefully there will be a fix for this.

  • Finder Picture Background Not Working?

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to set a photo background to a few folders in finder, but it isn't working.  The background remains white when I try to enable a picture background.  The color backgrounds work fine, but the picture background simply refuse to work.  I've restarted the computer, restarted finer, used pictures that are in the same folder as the one I want the background to be on.  I just don't know what to do and I'd really like to set it.
    Can anyone help me...

Did Disk Utility report any problems? If it did, did it repair them? I think what often happens with updates gone awry is a computer is having minor problems, then an update inadvertently overwrites some critical file and that minor problem is major.
Another thing to try is to start in Safe Mode. This will do a few things that Disk Utility doesn't, though I am not overly optimistic.
[Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107393]
[What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? (Mac OS X)|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107392]
[Safe Boot takes longer than normal startup|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107394]
Safe boot mode runs a directory check command similar to that used by Disk Utility's repair. In Tiger it ignores some stored information (cache) that is normally read that speeds up the boot process, and it moves some other caches to the trash. It also uses only System fonts and disables all Startup Items, third party items, and any Login Items.
Do you have a different account? Do you have problems in that account?
If all works well in the other account and/or when using Safe Mode it is possible your Finder preferences have become corrupt. Try moving:
Home (your User name) > Library > Preferences > com.apple.finder.plist
to the desktop and restart your computer. This file saves the settings for that service and may be come corrupt. Removing it from the Preferences folder will result in a new file being created with default settings. If this helps you can trash the file but you may need to reset other things covered by that preference. If it doesn't help you can replace the newly created file with the old one and restart to regain the old settings.
Failing those things, your best bet is to use Archive and Install, selecting to keep settings and files.

  • Nonscrolling background not working

I'm trying to update an old help project which used
D2HTOOLS.DLL to set the non-scrolling section of the main page to
have a particular background (watermark). Most pages work just
fine, but one or two will not show the watermark. I can see no
difference between the pages that work and those that don't,
besides their order in the their viewing group.
I've updated D2HTOOLS to D2HTLS32 but this had no effect.
    Has anyone any advice?

All you need in this case is repeat-x (vertically) from the top left.
So the following should do it:
         $('html, body').css({
                  "background": "url(images/background.png) repeat-x top left"

Hi, for my website I made a background in photoshop, using

  • Grant execute on javaclass is not working

I have successfully compiled a java class in schema two which provides a connection to an OEM data source. I subsequently compiled another java class, also in schema two, that uses the connection in the connection class and loads a temp table. Now, the connection class should really be in a different schema, so I recompiled it in schema one, changed the class name in schema two and then recompiled the one in schema two to essentially remove it from the picture.
When I tested my call specification to the second class, which loads the temporary table, I get an error, as expected because the connection class no longer exists in schema two.
On page 2-15 of the Java Developer's Guide 11g Release 1, it says:
You can provide other users the right to run your class in the following ways:
            Using the loadjava -grant option:
            Using the following command:
SQL> grant execute on myclass to scott; However, when using the second option (as the user of schema one where I just recompiled it), I get a message that the class does not exist. I have done everything I can think of to confirm that the name I have entered is correct including:
select dbms_java.shortname('long classname') from dual;Is this not really an acceptable way to grant execute privileges on a java source to another schema?
    Thanks,
    Gregory

    Hi,
you can use quotation mark, because the grant internally transform your javaclass in uppercase.
    So :
    grant execute on "myclass" to scott ;
    will succeed as
    grant execute on myclass to scott ;
    will not ;o)

  • DVD menu background not working in some players only

I put together a DVD in DVDSP 3 which works fine on most players. However on some players the menu backgrounds are grey instead of the graphic that should be there, and the buttons all say "Introduction" instead of having the proper titles. The first Main Menu looks fine and works properly. But the other menus don't show the background images at all.
I've tried using JPG, TIF and MPEG-2 files for the backgrounds on those menus, but none of those file formats works. The buttons all function properly and go to the correct targets, but the button text is the same wrong text on all the buttons. Also, the transitions work fine. And the tracks all play fine. It's just the non-Main menus that have the problem, and only on some DVD Players.
The specific players that have the problem are the Sony DVP-NS55P and the Philips DVP3140, both set top players.
Has anyone seen this type of behavior? And fixed it?

I have a similar problem. When I create a movie background and test in the simulator, the movie doesn't play and I get the grey screen with all the buttons and menus. The DVD created only plays the movie background only after you click a button and it tries to move on to the next track. I have never had a problem before.

  • Excel upload in background not working

    Greetings,
I have used 2 functions, ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE and TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP. Both work when run online, but fail in background. What I am reading suggest that the excel must be converted first to a txt (tab-delimited). Is this correct or is there another function that will work without the conversion?
    Thanks.

    hi Richard,
the above mentioned FMs work only in foreground. The reason for this is that they communicate with Excel implemented on the presentation server on your machine during the upload. In background, there is no presentation server, so no Excel communication possible, so no successfull upload. You have to for another solution, the one you mentioned (tab delimited text file) could be a good way.
    hope this helps
