Executing java.class files

From julesh1
To whom may help me:
I'm new to java.
I'm currently using jdk1.4.
I can compile File.java just fine.
But when i try to execute File.class i get an error message saying
java.lang.noclassDefFoundError.
This did not happen before.
any help would greatly be appreciated.

when you receive that error it usually indicates that the CLASSPATH does not include the directory where you are saving your .class files. If you are using Windows 2000, you need to:
1. Right click on My Computer
2. Go to properties
3. Click on the Advance tab
4. Click on Environment Variables
5. Edit or create a new variable named ClassPath and type in something similar to this:
.;C:\java;C:\jdk1.3.1;
If you have Windows 95 or 98,
Click on Start, then Run and type in sysedit, then click OK.
Go to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file which usually is the first file to pop up. Type:
SET CLASSPATH=.;C:\jdk1.3.1\classes;c:\java
In the above . is the current directory; c:\jdk1.3.1\classes is a place where you can store your class files; c:\java is a directory I created on my hard drive where I store my class files..
I hope this helps,
Kent

  • Can you execute a class file without invoking the command line java command

I am running java on a Windows XP equipped machine, and I am wondering if it is possible to execute a class file by double clicking the file icon, or can it only be done via command line. So far I have been unsuccessful in my attempts - I tried associating the class file with the java executable in my JRE directory, but that didn't work.
    Many thanks,
    -Stile

nope, can't be done, by design... microsoft recognised java as threat to the empire very early on in the peace.... but you can write a batch file to execute myprogram.class called myprogram.bat and stick it in your PATH.

You are using w that you have not done anything with.
Add following code to the begining of your cinstructor:
    w = this;
    Then it should work.

Is there any possibility using JNI or anyother method to achieve it.
    Please post me your suggestions...
    Thanks in advance
hope my problem will be solved.
    regards
    silviya

I can help on this subject, I heard about some
programs that can convert the .exe files to .bin
files, so you can go and search for such programs, if
you hava found them you should go to the following
    URL:
    http://www.ej-technologies.com/products/exe4j/overv
    iew.html
so you can get the exe4j program which
can made exe files for Java programs then after
installing the program you must enter the license key
and the user name and the company name, user name and
company name can be anything you want, but the
license key must be a valid license key here I'm
giving you one of them and I hope it will work
    successfully: ( A-XVK103616F-3jpbhxrlcljd )
after that you should declare a .exe file for your
project in java after that you must use the
exe2bin program to convert the .exe
file to a .bin file and I hope that you will be
    successful in your target.
And I'm ready to help you anytime, cause you seems to
be a good girl trying hard to learn and be successful
person in this life.i did as u said n i got a problem after i convert jar file to exe....i can't find any program which can convert .exe file to .bin file can u give me any suggestion

  • Can It Be Done? - Using Java Class Files from a DB

    Hello,
I am interested in storing a binary java class file in my oracle DB. Then I want to get it out at runtime and execute methods on it. I am planning on casting the object to an interface and executing the methods within. Please let me know if this is possible and where to look for more info, and a code example would be awesome.

I think you are going to need to serialize the objects and the classes. (Don't get stuck on semantics here, I don't mean use Java Serialization to write the Class instance, I am referring to writing the .class file to a field in the database.) Obviously the instances are what you are interested in (since you mentioned casting them to interfaces and invoking methods on them), but the class definitions will need to either be available already, or stored elsewhere in the database.

  • How to create .exe files from Java class files?

I'm new to Java and I just wonder if it is possible to make executable files out of Java class files. I've checked the Java online help and several search engines, but I still couldn't find anything about that. Is it possible to do so? If not, why not?
Thanx a lot for any help.

I don't remember if there is a program that converts the class file,
but I do know that there are a few that either convert the class file,
or the .java file. You might try searching for ".java to .exe" in the
search engine and seeing what that pulls up.

or can i do it manually:
these are a few lines that the .jsp contains, and i would like to translate this to be in .java/.class format:

    <%@ page import="java.util.StringTokenizer" %>
    <%@ page import="java.util.Map" %>

Once i have the .java file created from the .jsp, I will compile .java to create the .class file and invoke the .class in peoplecode by using java apis available in peopletools.
    Thanks in advance.

Is there a way convert a binary .exe file( compiled by
another compiler) into Java .class/.jar file ? Anyone
know of a free program that can do this? It's not possible. There are many decompilers and disassemblers for Java but nothing will take you from ANY binary to Java source. It would be the end of computing as we know it and the beginning of a new era -:)

  • How to convert dll to a java class file?

    Hi folks:
I have some DLLs in VB and C++ and I wanna to convert them to a java class file. Does anybody know if exist a sw or easy way to do it?
    thanks
    Autair

Well, I believe you could write JNI to call the functions in the DLLs, although I wouldn't recommend it. (You'd have a non-portable, fragile result.)

  • How to convert java .class file to .dll file

    hi,
I got a problem, I have to convert my java .class file to .dll file. Microsoft VC++ program will invoke the converted .dll file.
    Is there any other possibility.
    I was confused.
Cam any body help me. If you are having solution for the can you send to my [email protected] account.
    thanks,

No, it is not possible to do what you are suggesting. Yes, you could produce a DLL that wraps the JVM and loads your java class exposing a C and/or C++ callable interface, but that is a lot to go through unless your class is VERY complex. Otherwise, you might want to just create and maintain two implementations.

  • Converting Java class file to .dll

    Dear all,
Is there any way to convert a Java class file to a .dll file?
(Background being that there is a software that only allows callouts to DLLs and the method I have developed is in Java so need to convert it to a .dll)
    Any insight/advice/pointers are most appreciated.
    Thanks much,
    David

    Hi there,
Yes you can convert a Java Class to DLL file using Microsoft Visual J#.NET (Installation required Visual Studio.NET) you can download it from the microsoft site.
    www.microsoft.com/downloads
then go for search below in combo box(Visual J#.NET). After installation open new project select class library. write your java code(not fully supported j2se). build your application. All the Java Code is embeded in dll. Found at e.g. C:/JavaToDll/bin/debug/JavaToDll.dll This is a way to convert Java Code to a dll. frankly speaking i do not like .NET (copy of Java Technology must be baned completely).
    Thanks
Please correct if i am wrong.
