Executing Photoshop Elements 11
I cannot get my Photoshop Elements 11 & Premiere Elements 11 to execute after installing. What do I need to do?! When I double click, the only thing that happens is that a "Elements 11 Organizer" window pops up. I click in "Accept" and nothing happens!
Hi,
You may like to uninstall and try the installation again - the very first time you start Elements it should show a Welcome screen.
You could try using windows explorer to navigate to and double click on the following to see if it works.
[ignore the x86 bit if on a 32bit system]
Organiser: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Editor : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"

Problem to start photoshop elements
When start executing Photoshop elements version 8 I receive an error message regarding C:\windows\AppPatch\AcLayers.dll containing an error. I have followed the recommendation in the error massage and reinstall Photoshop. What to do
Try a system scan to see if an automatic repair is available:

An attempt to open a pdf file with Photoshop Elements (version 12) resulted in a pop generated by the Photoshop Editor stated "Impossible to execute this operation (opening file) because one of the specified colour is not managed". Is there any mean to adapt the file to make its reading possible?
Did somebody get the same problem? It is a high order probability that your SQL's report generator is creating the PDF, not Acrobat (which by design and EULA cannot be used in as/with server).
That the report generator outputs to an old-old version of PDF bears this out.
Wiki articles on PDF are very nice for those high level intro summaries.
To know / understand PDF you purchase and study the ISO Standard for PDF (ISO 32000-1:2008).
Rather than "PDF validation" you may want to consider addressing the appearent root cause of the problem(s).
You can change the email2fax application to one that can deal with older PDF versions.
You can change the report generator to one that can output to the ISO Standard.
(Perhaps the in-use application can be configured to output to the current version of PDF (i.e., the ISO Standard).

Photoshop Elements 13 running in Windows 8.1 hangs immediately after starting
Photoshop Elements 13 running in Windows 8.1 hangs immediately after starting. Has to be shut down by Task Manger. Task Manger shows that it is still using some CPU. Ran Procmon (part of Sysinternals) which shows that it is in a loop. Stack trace shows it is executing code in AMTValidateProductLicense.dll. Started happening about a month after I installed PSE. Everything used to work fine at first. Have tried going back to an old image of Win 8.1 on a different hard drive, otherwise same computer, and installed PSE 13 from DVD. That installation never worked, it aways hangs. If I do a clean boot, it sometimes runs long enough for me to click on a menu item and then hangs the same way. And, yes I bought a new DVD to run on this computer, never been used in any other way. Any ideas how I can get PSE running properly?
It really doesn't look like a licensing issue, it seems to be code in the area of license validation that isn't working.
I took your suggestion and initiated a couple of chat sessions with support, but so far still no luck. The latest session with Neeraj seemed to be promising. After some investigation he asked to reinstall. First he uninstalled with Revo Uninstall, which seemed to be pretty thorough. That required a restart, so he set things up to restore his conference session and took my phone number. Unfortunately I guess his connection didn't come back. When I didn't hear from him after a couple of hours I tried installing Photoshop and Premiere myself. As before, Premiere works and Photoshop doesn't. When I start Photoshop, the window opens and for a couple of seconds menus open when I click on them. Then the window freezes and I have to use Task Manager to kill it. So basically, I've tried several things but I'm back where I've been all along, I can't get Photoshop to work. I'd really appreciate suggestions about something else to try.
I wish someone at Adobe was interested in the Process Monitor traces I've made, because I'm sure someone who knows the code would be able to figure out pretty quickly what's happening. Is it trying to read a file that's not there, failing to write a file, failing to make an internet connection or what? It really shouldn't be this hard to figure out. -
Same problem with photoshop elements download as bill33mor
I'm having similar issues attempting a download of the Adobe Photoshop Elements tryout, on a PC running Vista.
First it stopped during install of Shared Technologies and rolled back the entire installation. I thought this might be due to a quick neighborhood power outage during the installation, so I tried again, but the same thing happened. I read the Troubleshooting help (below) but I'm not quite techie enough to deal with log files. Tried again, attempting one thing it seemed to suggest - pointing the installation download directly to the C drive rather than a folder (?) - but no luck. Now there's no error message, but the Download Assistant Welcome screen comes back after half an hour of downloading and extracting, and doesn't seem to complete the installation. No desktop icon comes up; I can see some files on the C drive but nothing appears to be executable.
The installation of Photoshop Elements or Adobe Premiere Elements can fail with one of the following errors:
"The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Elements could be installed. Below mentioned application has failed to install: Shared Technologies."
"The Adobe Premiere Elements installation wizard was interrupted while installing Shared Technologies."
"The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies."
To resolve these issues, use the Adobe Support Advisor (ASA) to analyze the installation log file. For instructions, see Analyze install logs with Adobe Support Advisor (ASA).
Note: If you are using a downloaded installer, or running the installation from the hard drive, the Shared Technologies can fail because of the installation path. Copy the installation files to a folder to the root of the drive, such as C:\PSE<versionnumber>Installer\, and rerun the installation.
If the ASA tool is unable to provide you with a solution, see the "Analyze the Main Installation Log manually" section in Troubleshoot install using logs | Premiere Elements, Photoshop Elements.I have tried all of the suggested solutions to get Shared Technologies to install successfully and it has failed every time. This is the 5-6th time I have attempted installing PSE 12 and it fails. I have rebooted without any startup items or non-MIcrosoft services (on a Win 7 x64 machine). I have shut off all backup softward, all virus software, installed a new admin account and tried from it, deleted OOBE files after renaming didn't help, uninstalled other Adobe software, killed all/any processes from adobe (or other obvious processes not related). I have spent extensive time working with Adobe chat support. I have deleted all folders from my machine that include anything PSE related and used a utility (ccleaner) to wipe and fix all registry and legacy file space. PSE has been installing - again - for over 35 minutes and is again on the "Installing required Shared Technologies" dialogue screen. The following is a snipit of the log file that contains the ONLY () reference to anything not working with the install:

Link between lightroom and photoshop elements
Hello.
A few days ago I installed photoshop elements 6 on my Leopard 10.5.3 instance. I have also Lightroom 1.4.1 installed, but he/she doesn't seem to detect the elements installation. I can't do an edit in photoshop.
With which mechanism the Lightroom program detects if there is any photoshop installed?
Should I use the alternative editor path to call Elements 6? And if so, will I have the same functionality then?
Is the direct link only there for CSx?
In order to test in a "clean" environment, I have made a fresh installation of Leopard, Photoshop Elements and Lightroom on an external disk, but even then Lightroom doesn't detect Elements 6.
However, if I install Photoshop Elements 4, everything works fine.
Any help is much appreciated!!
Marc.
PS: this tech note doesn't help me - www.adobe.com/go/kb401629.Kenny,
1) There are known problems of LR not recognizing Photoshop CS / PSE automatically as present. Uninstalling and reinsalling PSE might help.
If now successful, and if you're on a windows system, adding the following key to your registry might solve the problem:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe]
@="C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Photoshop Elements 8.0\\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
"Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Photoshop Elements 8.0"
2) You can have as many external editors as you like. Go to Preferences/External Editing, setup the executable and format you want to pass to it, then do a "Save Current Settings as New Preset". This will establish an additonal external editor for LR.

Photoshop Elements Organizer/Editor Hanging on Startup
When I open Photoshop Elements 10 from the start menu, it takes about 3 minutes for the first welcome screen to appear. If I select to open the editor from the welcome screen, or by right-clicking a file in Windows Explorer and selecting 'Open with...Photoshop', the program opens, the image populates on the canvas, and within a few seconds the program hangs for about 3-5 minutes (fades out, title bar says (Not Responding)). I have tried adding 127.0.0.1 etc. to the host file, removing FastCore, MMX, and a third .8BX file I can't recall at the moment, opening with administrative privileges, and changing my default printer to a dummy local printer, to no avail. Has anyone had similar problems? I suspect the issue has something to do with the 'Initializing Main Interface...' item in the C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\10.0\Organizer\log.txt taking 168,000 units (ms?) of time to execute, but I'm not sure. Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer for Mac crashes
I have Photoshop Elements 9 installed on my Mac. It worked just fine till a few days ago after I did some weeding of duplicates. Since then, whenever I try opening it it closes when the credits page appears. I get a message, which I don't understand. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program but it still crashes immediately. I don't know what to do? Here's the error message:

What he did was delete PSE9 from my computer including all the files that are located elsewhere, i.e. in the library. After everything was gone we reloaded it and I now it works. I can't tell you where all the files are -- but I do know a lot of them were in the Library folder.
Good luck. I was pulling my hair out too. -
Photoshop Elements 6: Could not use type tool because the file could not be found
Using Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 well for a while.
Tried to use the Type Tool to overlay text and obtained this error:
Could not use the type tool because the file could not be found
After research, I reset all tools, tried to repair (failed: insert disc one), and then removed/re-installed. Still have the same problem.
Are the system fonts corrupt or is an Adobe .ini file suspect?
Other reports have suggested using a 3rd-party font manager to inspect/disable fonts.
First wanted to post this error here for feedback/recommendations
Any suggestion on how to recover the Type Tool functionality?

Adobe Photoshop Elements Repair Workaround
When trying to repair the well-known: insert disc one, error occurred. Was able to successfully repair the installation by dragging the entire Adobe Photoshop Elements directory from the original CD-ROM onto a hard drive and executing locally. Seems it does not like repairing over the CD-ROM but it works correctly if the install source is on disc...John,
Yesterday, I decided to completely remove all Adobe products: PSE 6, Premiere 4, Reader, ActiveX plugins & legacy/old uninstalled product directories that Adobe has left turd-lets around including old Acrobat 3/6 directories. Used A/D Software to remove all adobe products and then followed your instructions AND the instructions on Adobe's support web site to manually remove these products.
It boiled down to manually removing the entire Adobe directory in Progam Files, "saving" the entire Adobe directory structure in each users (3) Document and Settings in the Application Data and Local Settings (as instructed by you and Adobe) and rebooting.
I also saved the local All Users "configuration" database/cache that contained the Tag and other information to make sure the system was clean
This included following the manual Regit instructions to remove legacy Adobe registry hives. I deleted all keys for all Adobe product trees that I could locate (following instructions from Adobe).
Reboot
Scheduled a CHCKDSK on all drives and rebooted
Dragged my complete image library to an archive location and deleted them on the C: drive
Did a complete system Defrag
Re-installed Adobe and alas still have the same problem with the Type Tool....
The only thing I did not do was selectively remove the "fonts" because various instructions seemed to indicate many are "required" by the windows or other applications and I was not really sure how to identify which ones were safe to remove w/o affecting the core system.. I'll have to re-read these instructions next.
Microsoft has a "Font Validator" tool, but that only checks 1 font at a time and you have to read the "results". May look for other tools.
Will be able to check the font structure this weekend since it will take some research before I'm comfortable just removing fonts in trial/error mode. I'll need to make a backup image of my computer before I start this (just in case).
Thanks for follow-ups too!

How do I launch Organizer and Edit from the welcome menu of photoshop Elements 12?
I've been trying to get Adobe Photoshop Elements software to work on my computer since mid December. I've had alot of responses to different options, even from Adobe themselves, and nothing is working.
I get the Welcome Menu screen but when I click on either Organizer or Edit nothing happens. I am the administrator on my home computer and tried launching as administrator but nothing works.
I've tried launching it from "Program File" exe but nothing. When I do this I get this error message; "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements12\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
I've tried a Install Photoshop Elements in a simplified mode, nothing. I've shut down my firewall and virus program and then install, nothing.
Looks like I've stooped everyone. Now I can't even return it because the package is open.
Is there anyone out in cyber land that has a simple yet brilliant solution for me?
My computer is a 64-bit Operating System, Intel (R) Core i7 CPU, 869 @ 2.80GHz, Windows 7 Professional.
perplexedIf the executable is not being recognized you must have an incomplete or faulty installation.
I would suggest uninstalling via the control panel (Add/Remove Programs) and then re-install again from a different source. You can use the link below for the free trial (it’s identical) and if you get it correctly installed, simply use your serial number to validate and make the product permanent.
The link starts with the Adobe Download Assistant. You then browse to the photography programs to select PSE12 to start the download. After the download completes, installation should commence automatically but you may need to double click on Setup to start it off.

Background Task on Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements Organizer "hangs"
I recently upgraded my software from Elements 10 to Elements 12 and had a bit of trouble. Apparently both 10 and 12 have a way of launching an executable in the background which tends to get "stuck" on my system. I believe the problem may be related to the network configuration and software mix I live with, but I need to confirm my suspecions and find a way to control the problem. Here is what I know... I have always experienced a lot of problems using Elements with my NAS device which is a 1TB usb 2.0 connected disk system attached to my Linksys E3000 Router. When I got the router, the BIOS software did not correctly support NTFS file systems, but subsequent updates eventually made this possible if you formatted the removable drive on a system in NTFS, you could then hang it on the router and "see" the contents, serve them via Windows Media Player, or iTunes, etc., etc. from a computer atteched to the network, or via wirless directly off the router. I archived all my photos out on this file system and have successfully indexed it for use with Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements Organizer, but... When I went to install Elements 12 software I tried to install it without first removing Elements 10, and on a system which had run Elements 10 since the last full reoboot. During the install of 12 under "shared services install" the installation process "Hung" on a background task with a name like "AdobeElementsAnalyzer.exe" which only shows up in Windows 7 task manager as a running process, not as a full program, but because the file was locked by the system, the install hung. I eventually figured out that I needed to start the install of Elements 12 software immediately after having rebooted so that this program was not present in the background, and succeeded in completing an install of Elements 12 on my Windows 7 X64 system. This system required a "special" software download for Premiere Elements, but not for Photoshop Elements which is only apparently avaliable under 32bit emulation mode. I finally got the "shared components" portion of the X64 Premiere Elements to complete an install, and then set about verifying the onversion/upgrade of the indexes to my photos and video stored out on the NAS. The same rogue task which prevented me from doing the install showed up agian, taking all the system resources away from my dual processor Intel chip and refusing to let go. I was forced to terminate it from the task manager. I strongly suspect that my "issues" are in part due to the extrordinary network latency imposed by the drive connection I'm using to index my photos and videos, and I'm looking for a better approach to using the editors against my master catalog of files, as well as figruing out just what I need to do to insure that all the files I have stored on the drive are accessible by the organizer when I need to pull a copy to work on.
A complication is that I have two "legacy" Windows XP systems on my network, a reasonably fast Windows Vista Business desktop, and the Windows 7 X64 processor system which is the most powerful system I have. The Windows file security enhancements to NTFS changed from XP, to Vista, to Windows 7, so files which get saved to the NAS disk inherit a variety of different levels of security under windows. I have occasionally gone to one of my old XP boxes and "wiped" the security settings by resetting everything via Windows XP. Because the NAS is so slow, this process can take several hours and must not be interrupted by attempts to do anything affecting the NAS by any of my other networked computers. To avoid problems with my photo archive, it makes sense to me to do all my editing on copies which have been extracted from the NAS archive and stored on the C: drive (boot drive) of my Win X64 system.
What I seriously need to know is this: When/If I define a "watched" portion of my file system, rather than taking the time to manually import every little change to my photo archives, can I expect the Photoshop Elements Organizer to work properly as long as everything stored on the NAS is stored via the same system which runs Elements with the same active "user" in control so that all the windows 7 file security settings putting stuff on the mapped NAS drive remain properly secured under Win 7 X64? Frankly I don't care if the files appear "read only" to every other system and identity on my network, but I do need to be able to "see" them. I have been able to view slide shows and movies stored on the NAS via both my networked iPad, my Apple TV, and using Samsung's funky android and Windows compatible software. Frankly, I doubt that Microsoft or Apple has full understanding and control of the environment where there is no host "server" other than the eprom based stuff my Linksys E3000 loads to emulate early Windows Media Management architecture, but I mange to get it to work as long as I don't try anything sophisticated with the file permissions. As a fall back, can I expect individual "imported" bits out on the NAS to remain stable if indexed and used only by the Elements Organizer running on my Win 7 X64 system?
I am seriously considering converting an old WinXP desktop into a UNIX box which could be configured as a "Server" for everything stored on the NAS and be done with my problems in return for the power required to run the server all the time so stuff is there when I need it. Any recommendations?
Message was edited by: [email protected]Adobe hasn't said whether it officially supports PSE 7 on Windows 7. But reports are starting to trickle in that PSE 7 works fine on Windows 7 for most people, though a couple people have reported crashes. My PSE 7 seems to work fine, though I primarily use PSE 8 now. This is all very preliminary, and we'll learn more as more people post here.

Download Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0
HELP! I have a valid serial number for Photoshop Elements 6.0 from a purchased copy a couple of years back. I recently moved and reformatted my computer without realizing my install disks did not make it to the new house. I had backed up the entire Adobe folder even, but it won't run. I just need some place to get the setup executable for Photoshop Elements 6.0. Can anyone please help?
Unfortunately, if you had a disc version, even if you could find a legitimate download someplace it wouldn't help you, since back then downloads and disc versions had mutually incompatible serial numbers.

Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Air will not exe after installation
I am currently running elements 8. Since yesterday the photoshop elements editor will not execute, but crashing after it tries to initiates TWAIN.
I have been uninstalling and reinstalling since yesterday.
1. I have deleted elements preferences.
2. I have used my utility drive to clean up clutter and excess files.
3. I have cleaned my registry using Systems Mechanic
4. I have installed the program from the desktop.
5. I have copied the execution file to the desktop to use as a shortcut.
6. I have turned off all devices and drivers that might be interfering and installed in simple mode.
7. I have updated my drivers.
8. I have tried the repair function
9. I have removed the program manually to ensure nothing is lingering and then tried reinstalling.
10. I have tried Systems Restore.
11. I am in the process of defragmenting my hard drive
12. I have tried installing from the D: drive
After all of this nothing has worked, and to make matters worse, now Adobe Air is crashing.
Is there anything else that I have not tried that might remedy this problem.
I have the program on another computer and it works fine.Go into the program files (program files(x86) for a 64-bit system), find the Elements 8 folder and within that Plug-ins>ImportModules and delete the Adobe TWAIN plugin. (You may have trouble scanning directly into the editor after doing this)
