Executing remote function locally

Is there a way to execute a remote function locally.
Example
I have two database DB1,DB2.
I have a table tab1 in DB1 and fun1 in DB2
When i try to execute a query as below
select * from DB1
where fun1@dblinktodb2(c1,c2) not in (1,2,3,4,5)
it takes 1 and half hour to fetch all the results.
I created same function fun2 mimicing fun1@dblinktodb2
select * from DB1
where fun2(c1,c2) not in (1,2,3,4,5)
it takes 7 minutes.
we don't want to maintain two version of same function (ofcourse in this case fun1 is created by different team so we don't to have copy which can leave the code outdate )
Is there a way to execute fun1@dblinktodb2 locally.
Note fun1@dblinktodb2 doesnot uses any schema objects.

A function can only execute in the database in which it is defined. You could potentially automate the replication of that function to your local database so that you didn't have to manually maintain anything, but you would need a local copy of the function if you want it to execute on the local database.

• Calling Remote Functions Locally Triggers any Database commit(Implicit)

Hello,
Am making use of RFC enabled function module as normal function module (Calling remote function module locally).
My question is does it trigger any implicit database commit or not. Since synchronous RFC triggers database commit.

Let me correct the statement both synchronous as well as asynchronous RFCs trigger an implicit DB commit.
SAP documentation on synch-RFCs states:
If the content of dest is equal to the constant space, then the addition DESTINATION is ignored and a normal call CALL FUNCTION func is executed.
Please note that you should not use the DESTINATION addition or use DESTINATION space. DESTINATION none will start the FM as an RFC in the same app server.

• Local function calling remote function - error

Dear All
i have following remote function wich return some value from both methods ie.
1) select func1(variable, varialbe) from dual@remoteDB; working
2) select func1(variable, varialbe) from dual; -- by making a synonym at local
Now i create a local function funclocal calling remote functino i.e. func1 in this example as:
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION funclocal(locc varchar2, artnoo number)
RETURN NUMBER IS
query_str VARCHAR2(1000);
STKQTYY NUMBER;
artno number(10);
loc varchar2(80);
BEGIN
artno := artnoo;
loc := locc;
query_str := 'select func1(loc, artno) from dual ';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE query_str
INTO STKQTYY;
RETURN STKQTYY;
END;
compiled successfully.
But when i run as:
SQL> select funclocal('abc', 469183) from dual;
select funclocal('@st3', 469183) from dual
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00904: "ARTNO": invalid identifier
ORA-06512: at "funclocal", line 11
Please guide me.
Regards
Saeed

EXECUTE IMMEDIATE query_strAs Andreas states: Why are you using dynamic sql?
From what I see all you need is sth like
create or replace function funclocal (locc varchar2, artnoo number)
       return number
is
begin
       return func1 (locc, artnoo);
end funclocal ;
/even the whole concept of a »local« function seems suspicious. Why do you need that one?

• An error occurred when executing a REMOTE FUNCTION CALL.

Dear all,
We have two syetms called DXD and GRD , we have a remote enabled function module in the DXD system , when i am trying to call this Function module from
GRD system it is going for the short dump, and giving the follwing error,
<b>Error analysis
        An error occurred when executing a REMOTE FUNCTION CALL.
        It was logged under the name "RFC_NO_AUTHORITY"
        on the called page.</b>
But i do have the access for the DXD system also, i am really struggling to solve this problem, if any lights are there to help me , i will be thank full for then,
some body suggested for me that we need to maintain the Trusted system tables in the target system.
Thanks & regards
Satya.

first u( user id ) have to get the Authorizations to use RFC ?
object will be  like S_RFC or some thing like this.
when u get this kind of error just call /NSU53 then u will come to know which Authorization Object is missing from ur User Profile.

• RFC Error While Invoking A Remote Function Module.

I am invoking A remote function module while invoking it get  an exception when i see the error logs
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.modelimpl.dynamicrfc.WDDynamicRFCExecuteException:      Screen output without connection to user.                           , error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.modelimpl.dynamicrfc.DynamicRFCModelClassExecutable.execute(DynamicRFCModelClassExecutable.java:101) at... [see details]
can anyone pls tell me what the error is..
regards
Nilesh Taunk.

Hi Nilesh Taunk,
You can go through the following steps
-o JCO Exceptions 1. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/f6/daea401675752ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm
-o JCO Exceptions 2. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f6/e002416225f023e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
-o Restart of the J2EE instance and try re-importing the RFC model. Sometimes it helps.
-o Logon into WebDynpro Content Administrator as a J2EE Admin and check if the JCO Connections and User /pwd of your application is correct. You can <b>ping </b>or <b>test your JCO connections</b>. if something is wrong, enter the values again for JCO n retest them.
-o Try undeploying or removing the complete application and redeploy it.
Tu undeploy please go to
Go to <b>Visual Admin -> Server -> Services -> Deploy ->
</b>
Under Runtime Tab
select the server, open the tree , you would find the webdypro list there.
Now select an application, first stop it, remove it and redeploy if necessary.
Let us know if you could solve the problem or not, gud luck!

• CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR when calling a remote function call through PI

Hello.  Thanks in advance for your perspective on this.
We are developing an interface that runs in an R/3 system and is suppossed to perform a lookup in another R/3 system via a PI 7.0 system.
Here's what we are trying to do, let's call these systems "A", "B", "C" respectively.
R/3  ->  PI   -> R/3
The R/3 system (A) executes code, which calls this function module like this:
          CALL FUNCTION 'Z_CHK_MAT' DESTINATION 'XI_RFCADAPTER'
            EXPORTING
              iv_region           = lv_region
              iv_matnr            = ls_matnr-matnr
            IMPORTING
              ev_flg_is_purchased = e_flg_is_purchased.
This code, is set via the "DESTINATION" parameter to use the RFC destination 'XI_RFCADAPTER'.  This destination, points to the PI (B) system above.
Anyhow, we're getting a short dump in the R/3 (A) system, which is like this:
CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR
"JCO.Server could not find server function 'Z_CHK_MAT'"
From my analysis, I believe this is because the remote function module Z_CHK_MAT does not exist, in the PI (B) system.
Our developer, believes this should just "pass through" the PI (B) system, and call the function module in the R/3 (C) system.
Any insight on this?  In this scenario, does this Function Module need to exist in the PI abap side?  Can you give perspective / guidance on this?
Thanks a lot
Steve

No need to exist in PI ABAP side.
Just make sure that:
1. as Michal said, you import it in Integration Repository (and use it in your configurations);
2. the RFC Destination type that points to XI is of type T, not 3;
3. both the RFC Destination & the Sender RFC Adapter (and only them) are using the same Program Id.
Regards,
Henrique.

• Remote Function Module problem

Hi Experts,
I have written a Se38 progarm to execute a remote function module, so as to send some data out of the system. The receiving system is an XI system. Pls see below the code and the load at the XI end, I donno why and what mistake am I doing in the se38 program part, as a result of which, only part of the data is getting send to XI.
REPORT ZRFC_ADAPTER.
Data: it_final1 type standard table of zrfc_str with header line .
it_final1-NAME = 'ARNAB'.
it_final1-ADDRESS = 'ADDRESS'.
it_final1-EMAIL = 'EMAIL'.
it_final1-ID = 'ID'.
CALL FUNCTION 'ZRFC_XI'
IN BACKGROUND TASK DESTINATION
'R32XIRFC'
EXPORTING
username = sy-uname
tables
it_final = it_final1 .
break-point.
COMMIT WORK.
Clear it_final1.
I have seen in debugging mode, after removing the "
IN BACKGROUND TASK DESTINATION
'R32XIRFC'", that the internal table " it_final1 " is working fine......
The structure used in remote Function Module is
IT_FINAL LIKE ZRFC_STR -- in tables parameter. and the structure of ZRFC_STR is as follows!
NAME ZNAME CHAR 14
ADDRESS ZADDRESS CHAR 40
TELEPHONE ZTEL CHAR 20
EMAIL ZEMAIL CHAR 40
ID ZID CHAR 10
Note that , apart from a COMMIT WORK statement, there is no other coding done in the SOURCE CODE part of the remote Function Module.
The load in XI is showing as
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<rfc:ZRFC_XI xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
<USERNAME>RETAILDEV</USERNAME>
<IT_FINAL>
<item>
<NAME>ARNAB</NAME>
<ADDRESS>EMAIL</ADDRESS>
<EMAIL />
<ID />
</item>
</IT_FINAL>
</rfc:ZRFC_XI>
Note that EMAIL is actually a content of field EMAIL and not ADDRESS. But I donno why, it is behaving like this,,
Pls note, this RFC has been imported completely in integration repository of XI, so we dont have to worry about any settings change or activities, left pending in XI.
I am very sure, something is missing in the se38 code, pls suggest!!
Regards,
Arnab .

Hi Arnab,
I am having really doubt that there is problem in field mapping.
COuld you please check the following.
In the FM structure contains 5 fields as follows,
NAME ZNAME CHAR 14
ADDRESS ZADDRESS CHAR 40
TELEPHONE ZTEL CHAR 20
EMAIL ZEMAIL CHAR 40
ID ZID CHAR 10
In the Internal Table it has got 4 fields. Check the Mapping properly
and data on each field.
t_final1-NAME = 'ARNAB'.
it_final1-ADDRESS = 'ADDRESS'.
it_final1-EMAIL = 'EMAIL'.
it_final1-ID = 'ID'.
Thanks & Regards,

• RFC_ERROR_INTERNAL (when trying to set values on my remote function)

Hi everyone,
I've been playing with JCo for a few days now, and I got it to work to a certain point, that being, I am able to query my sap tables and add records to them.
My problem is:
I've set a function with two import parameters, let's say USERNAME and PASSWORD, both LIKE two other fields from one of my tables, and an export parameter called return with type C, which is supposed to be 0 or 1. (user good or not)
I ran this remote function in standalone mode and everything works out like I want it to, so guess no problems here.
<i>For clarity sake, i should say i'm not trying to build an authentication remote function like them standard BAPI's so please don't point me in that direction. I don't have R/3 access for the time being, so this is being done on MBS, which, while limited, should be more than enough to fulfill my purposes.
</i>
Unfortunatelly when i try to execute this function from a simple java test app i get the following exception thrown:
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (108) RFC_ERROR_INTERNAL: Internal error: rec->cdata == NULL
And this is how i'm trying to do it in Java:
public boolean checkPassword(String username, String password) {
        JCO.Function function = getFunction("Z_RFC_CHECK_LOGIN");
        JCO.ParameterList listParams = function.getImportParameterList();
        listParams.setValue(username, "USERNAME");
        listParams.setValue(password,"PASSWORD");
        try
                aConnection.execute(function); // <<<------Exception points here when debugging!
        catch(Exception e)
            System.out.println("ERROR -" +e);
            //e.printStackTrace();
        JCO.ParameterList resultParams = function.getExportParameterList();
        JCO.Field field = resultParams.getField("RETURN");
        String reply = field.getString();
        System.out.println("REPLY: "+reply);
        if (reply.equals("0"))
        return true;
        else
        return false;
        }
So basically I can't seem to send out values to my RF, and for that matter, nor can i get a return value.
I can, however make the following code work successfully:
JCO.ParameterList stParams = function.getImportParameterList();
                JCO.Structure est_clientes = stParams.getStructure("WA_PEOPLE");
                est_clientes.setValue("1","PERSON_CODE");
                est_clientes.setValue("Duarte", "NAME");
                est_clientes.setValue("Porto","ADDRESS");
                aConnection.execute(function);
But, on my <i>problematic</i> previous example, still won't work if I try for example:
JCO.Field p_code = params.getField("PERSON_CODE");
and then setting the value with:
p_code.setValue("Duarte");
I know the code is kinda junky right now but like i said it's just for testing my skills with JCo for now. Any help on this would be apreciated, thank you in advance for any replies.
Best Regards,
Duarte

Thanks for replying,
It's working now, it turned out I was wrong about the problem being with my java code.
I basically forgot to set the Remote-Enabled option on my FM attributes.
Imagine how i felt after a full day of head banging on this matter, i guess the joke was on me for today
Anyway sorry if i wasted anyone's time with this, I genuinelly thought i had it all figured out.
Regards,
Duarte

• Data error (invalid data type 17) in a Remote Function Call

Hi,
I am passing 2 select-option tables to RFC.
Tables have structures -
       Table1  SIGN(C1)
                   OPTION(C2)
                   HIGH(C6)
                   LOW(C6)
       Table2  SIGN(C1)
                   OPTION(C2)
                   HIGH(C20)
                   LOW(C20)
At the destination side, I have created two table types which have same structure.
But when I call the RFC , program terminates with error - "Data error (invalid data type 17) in a Remote Function Call"
      Not able to understand the reason for this error. Please help.
Thanks,
Sujeet

Hi,
check out this example
[LINK|http://abap.googlar.eu/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=28]
You have several ranges that you can use like RANGE_AUF.
Function example:
FUNCTION zexemple.
*"*"Interface local:
*"  IMPORTING
*"     REFERENCE(R_HORA) TYPE  FLAG
*"     REFERENCE(R_DIA_1) TYPE  FLAG
*"     REFERENCE(P_IDOC) TYPE  FLAG
*"  EXPORTING
*"     REFERENCE(MSG) TYPE  CHAR255
*"  TABLES
*"      T_OIFSPBL STRUCTURE  OIFSPBL
*"      SL_PBLNR STRUCTURE  RANGE_PBLNR
*"      SL_MATNR STRUCTURE  RANGE_MATNR
*"      SL_HORA STRUCTURE  RANGE_UZEIT
*"      T_ERROS STRUCTURE  ZARSTRING
ENDFUNCTION.
Report:
SELECT-OPTIONS: sl_pblnr FOR oirbpblb-pblnr,
                                  sl_matnr FOR a361-matnr.

Final question:
You are passing the values using TABLES and not IMPORTING right?

• Calling Remote function tool leads always to a logon screen

Hello,
I run an remote function tool in system A. In System B I run a report calling this function module.
Each time, I execute the report, a remote logon screen appears. It looks the same like the one you logon the system. You have to specifiy client, user and password.
I know one possibilty to avoid this logon screen appeaering.
System B (holding the function module) must declare System A as a trusted system. Thus, the user does not need to logon system B, each time calling the func. module. I processed this in correspondence with the help data, but the screen still appears.
Is there any other possibilty to avoid appearing the logon screen or does anybody know wheter I did something wring??
thanks, holger

Hi Holger,
1. This has to do with tcode SM59 (Maintain RFC Connections)
THE CALLING SYSTEM HAS NOT DEFINED
USER ID / PASSWORD TO LOGON TO THE TARGET SYSTEM.
HENCE, IT SHOWS BLANK LOGIN SCREEN
2. Under the node RFC Destinations ---> R/3 Connections,
       various systems are defined for RFC Purpose.
3. Lets say ur system(which u want to connect) is PRD.
4. Double Click PRD and go the the details.
5. There are 3 Tabs. Goto LOGON/SECURITY TAB.
6. In the logon information , enter the
       USERID and password and client.
7. Save.
Then try your program.
Hope this helps.

• Regarding the Remote Function Module

hi,
            Can any body can provide the brief information regarding the Remote Function Module.
1)How to create the remote function module
2)how it differ from the normal function module
3)any special features about this.
Thanks in advance

Hi
RFC (Remote Function Call) is similar to the general SAP fun module: except that in the attributes you click the radio button: RFC enabled;
and you will be passing an Import parameter DESTINATION to it.
Other code and usage will be similar to any fun module;
Have a look at any fun module in SE37 to understand better about the different components of Fun modules;
Refer this link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/22/042518488911d189490000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
check out the following link it might help you

Function Modules;
Check this matter.
Function Modules are Global ABAP programs created by SAP for reusable purpose.they have IMPORT,EXPORT and TABLE parameters, and EXCEPTIONS to through when error occurs.
You can create them from TCode SE37.
Go through the following doc:
Function modules are cross-program, reusable procedures that are organized into function groups, and whose functions are implemented between the statements FUNCTION and ENDFUNCTION. Function modules and their interfaces are created in the Function Builder.
Function Module Interfaces
The parameter interface of a function module is defined in the Function Builder. It includes the definition of interface parameters and the specification of exceptions that can be triggered by a function module. The Function Builder automatically generates comment lines below the FUNCTION statement in the source code of the function module, which represent the interface of the function module with the following syntax:
Syntax
... [IMPORTING parameters]
[EXPORTING parameters]
[CHANGING parameters]
[TABLES table_parameters]
[{RAISING|EXCEPTIONS} exc1 exc2 ...]
The syntax and semantics of IMPORTING, EXPORTING, CHANGING, RAISING, and EXCEPTIONS mainly correspond to the definition of method interfaces with [CLASS-]METHODS. The additional option of defining table parameters using TABLES is obsolete.
Interface parameters
The interface parameters are defined on the relevant tab pages in the Function Builder.
IMPORTING parameters are input parameters. When the function module is called, a suitable actual parameter must be specified for every non-optional input parameter. The content of the actual parameter is passed to the input parameter when the call is made. The content of an input parameter for which 'pass by reference' is defined cannot be changed in the function module.
EXPORTING parameters are output parameters. When the function module is called, a suitable actual parameter can be specified for every output parameter. The content of an output parameter that is defined for 'pass by value' is transferred to the actual parameter if the function module is completed without errors. An output parameter that is defined for pass by reference is not initialized when the function module is called.
CHANGING parameters are input and output parameters. When the function module is called, a suitable actual parameter must be specified for every non-optional input or output parameter. When the function module is called, the content of the actual parameter is passed to the input/output parameter, and when the function module is completed, the content of the input/output parameter is passed to the actual parameter.
TABLES parameters are table parameters. Table parameters are obsolete CHANGING parameters that are typed as standard tables with a header line. If an internal table without a header line or a table body is passed as an actual parameter to a formal parameter of this type, an empty local header line is generated in the function module. If an internal table with a header line is used as an actual parameter, both the table body and the header line are passed to the function module. Pass by value is not possible in formal parameters defined using TABLES. Formal parameters defined with TABLES can be replaced by formal parameters defined with CHANGING. A local work area can be created for the internal table in the function module by using the addition LIKE LINE OF itab of the DATA statement.
Exceptions
The exception of a function module are defined on the Exceptions tab page in the Function Builder. Here you can select exception classes to define whether class-based exceptions are declared or non-class-based exception are defined. Class-based exceptions are represented in the above syntax by RAISING, and non-class-based exceptions are represented by EXCEPTIONS.
The addition RAISING is used to declare class-based exceptions that can be propagated from the function module to the caller. Exceptions in the categories CX_STATIC_CHECK and CX_DYNAMIC_CHECK must be explicitly declared, otherwise a propagation can lead to an interface violation. A violation of the interface leads to the treatable exception CX_SY_NO_HANDLER. Exceptions of the category CX_NO_CHECK are implicitly always declared. The declaration of exceptions of the category CX_STATIC_CHECK is statically checked in the syntax check. For exceptions of the category CX_DYNAMIC_CHECK, the check is not performed until runtime. In a function module in which class-based exceptions are declared with the RAISING addition, the statement CATCH SYSTEM-EXCEPTIONS cannot be used. Instead, the relevant treatable exceptions should be handled in a TRY control structure.
The addition EXCEPTIONS is used to define a list of non-class-based exceptions that can be triggered in the function module using the statements RAISE or MESSAGE RAISING. Exceptions defined in this way - as with formal parameters - are bound to the function module and cannot be propagated. If an exception of this type is triggered in a function module, and no return value has been assigned to it with the homonymous addition EXCEPTIONS of the CALL FUNCTION statement when the call was made, this leads to a runtime error.
Note
For new developments after release 6.10, SAP recommends that you work with class-based exceptions that are independent of the function module.
RFC is a technology which is used to access a functions (Modules) from
the remote systems.
If a function module is set as remote enabled which can be access from
the remote system via RFC.Eg: U can access the Remote enabled function modules in ur VB,Webdynpro,Java,Visual composer program.
A function module can be set as remote enabled by SE37->Go to ur FM->click the option Button "remote enabled".
But Normal function modules can not accessd from the remote system.
Good Example for RFC enabled function module is : BAPI(Business Application Programming Interface)
Note: All BAPIs are Remote enabled but not all remote enabled function modules are BAPI.
CALLING A FUNCTION MODULE:
1)In U ABAP Editor --> Click "Patter" ---> Selection Option Button "Call Function"
--> Write the Corresponding FM name --> Hit Enter
2)The appropriate import ,export Parameters will be displayed in ur editor
3)Pass the Values Here.

• How to create dropdown list for custom remote function module

HI ,
           I created a custom remote function module for a ztable.table having four fields.But now the requirement is to maintain the dropdown list for input parameter .
For eg: I maintain Input parameter as action.For that Action we have to maintain a dropdown list(display,insert,update and delete  values ) in function module.Is it possible.

Hi
Try using POPUP_GET_VALUES function module in the begining of the Function module this gives a POP to provide a value to you
In this you can provide a value
Check the import parameters of this Function module if it has COMBOBOX as parameter ( I dont have SAP access at this point of time) you can pass X to it so you get List box for the following fields
Create a domain to field and assing fixed values to it and use it in any table(As this works with only existing tables)
refresh fields.
DATA: fields LIKE SVAL OCCURS 0.
fields-tabname = 'MAKT'.
FILEDS-FIELDNAME = 'MAKTX'.
APPEND FIELDS.
CALL FUNCTION 'POPUP_GET_VALUES'  " Try copying this in a Test program and execute
            EXPORTING
              POPUP_TITLE  = 'Enter Mail Id here'
              START_COLUMN = '5'
              START_ROW    = '5'
            IMPORTING
              RETURNCODE   = SRETURN
            TABLES
              FIELDS       = FIELDS.

• CATCHABLE EXCEPTIONS in the remote function call (RFC)

Please tell me what are the CATCHABLE EXCEPTIONS in the remote function call (RFC) and to which exception class do they belong????
Thanks in advance.
Dinesh Dhiman

HI,
With external function calls, the EXCEPTIONS addition of the CALL FUNCTION command can be used to assign return values to the exceptions defined in the interface of the called function module. Class-based exceptions cannot be propagated to the caller from a remotely-called function module, and have the effect of an exception that cannot be handled.
As well as the exceptions defined in the interface of the called function module, an external function call can also have the following predefined exceptions:
The <b>SYSTEM_FAILURE</b> exception is the response to a runtime error that occurs when the remotely-called function module is executed.
The <b>COMMUNICATION_FA</b>ILURE exception occurs when the connection to the partner system cannot be established or if the connection is lost during communication.
Note
We strongly recommend that you assign a return value to both these exceptions for every RFC, and that you handle this return value, as otherwise a runtime error will occur in the exception situations in question.

Sesh

• What is the exact syntax for calling remote function module.

Hi to all
1.....what is the exact syntax for calling remote function module.?
Thanks and regards,
k.swaminath reddy

hi
good
Lets do simple example where you will first create a RFC in one server (say A) and create normal program in othere server (say B). Finally you will call the RFC in A from B.
Do the following steps for creating RFC in server A.
1. log on to server A
2. go to se37
3. Edit -> function groups-> create function group and give the function group name (say ZGRP).
4. create a FM ( say Z_TEST_RFC) in se37 providing the function group which is created just now.
5. go to attribute tab -> choose remote-enabled module from processing type.
so that your FM will become RFC.
6. provide the import parameter in import tab.
we will provide only two import parameters.
- parameter name : P_NUM1, typing: TYPE, associated type : I & check the pass value (all the parameters of RFC must pass by value).
- parameter name : P_NUM2, typing: TYPE, associated type : I & check the pass value
7. provide the export parameter in export tab.
parameter name : P_SUM, typing: TYPE, associated type : I & check the pass value
8. write the given simple code in source code tab.
FUNCTION Z_TEST_RFC.
P_TOT = P_NUM1 + P_NUM2.
ENDFUNCTION.
Do the following steps for creating ABAP program which will call the RFC in server B.
1. se38 - > creat a program.
2. write the given simple code.
data tot type i.
call function 'Z_TEST_RFC' destination 'XXXXXX'
exporting
p_num1 = 10
p_num2 = 15
importing
p_tot = tot.
write tot.
please note that XXXXXX is RFC connection which is avialable in sm59 transaction in server A.
-go to sm59 - > abap connection (list of RFC connection configurations are avialable). choose server B connection and replace it of XXXXXX in the code.
finally you can execute the normal abap program that will call the RFC and display the result.
reward point if helpful.
thanks

Suppose the FM signature looks like
FUNCTION ztest.
*"*"Interface locale :
*"  IMPORTING
*"     REFERENCE(PAR1) TYPE  C
*"  TABLES
*"      TAB1 STRUCTURE MARA
A wrapper program could look like
REPORT  ztestwrapper.
TYPES tmara TYPE mara OCCURS 10.
* no-display allows much more flexibility here
PARAMETERS: par1 TYPE c NO-DISPLAY,
                tab1 TYPE tmara NO-DISPLAY.
CALL FUNCTION 'ZTEST'
      EXPORTING
        par1 = par1
      TABLES
        tab1 = tab1.
