Executing SSIS Package using C# problem

Hey,
I developed an WinForms App and SSIS package which I want to run using this App.\
I'm using folliwng script to run it:
using Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime; class PackageExecutor
public string PackageFolder = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["PackageFolder"];
Logger _logger = new Logger();
public void ExecutePackage(string location, string packagename)
Package pckg;
Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Application app;
DTSExecResult pckgResult;
Variables vars;
app = new Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Application();
pckg = app.LoadPackage(location, null);
vars = pckg.Variables;
vars["User::PckgConnection"].Value = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["SSIS"].ConnectionString;
pckgResult = pckg.Execute(null, vars, null, null, null);
if (pckgResult == DTSExecResult.Success)
MessageBox.Show("Wykonano poprawnie");
string msg = DateTime.Now.ToString() + " " + ExtensionMethods.LoginData.strUserName + " " + packagename + " Success";
_logger.WritePackageLog(msg);
else
string err = "";
foreach (Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DtsError local_DtsError in pckg.Errors)
string error = local_DtsError.Description.ToString();
err = err + error;
MessageBox.Show("Wystąpił błąd więcej informacji w logu.");
string msg = DateTime.Now.ToString() + " " + ExtensionMethods.LoginData.strUserName + " " + packagename + " Failure with error: " + err;
_logger.WritePackageLog(msg);
This one works perfectly on my PC which have SSIS installed, however a client is reciving an error:
"An Integration Services class cannot be found. Make sure that Integration Services is correctly installed on the computer that is running the application. Also, make sure that the 64-bit version of Integration Services is installed if you are running
a 64-bit application".
Inside SSIS project I turned of "Run64BitRuntime".
I'm running on x64 bit windows with x32 SSIS installed, can't tell on what Windows (x32/x64) is client running. I can get that info if necessary.
Any idea how may I solve this? Point of everything was to run SSIS package placed on server on any machine without installing any additional software there.

You needed to do proof of concept before embarking on this design. There is no workaround, and each client needs to have a paid SQL Server license in this case

  • Problem with execute SSIS package from stored procedure

    Hi,
    I would like to execute SSIS package from stored procedure. Therefore, I implemented sp which exec SSISDB.CATALOG.CREATE_EXECUTION method. When I try to test it from SSMS on remote server, I got error that
    I was able to solve by adding “WITH EXECUTE AS …”. Then I got another error: The server principal "Domain\user" is not able to access the database "SSISDB" under the current security context. On Internet, I found a couple post that describe
    how to access SSIS catalog (one of them by Ke Yang -
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mattm/archive/2012/03/20/ssis-catalog-access-control-tips.aspx). It didn’t help. I’m still getting the error message.
    How to debug this issue?
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks

    SSMS does not propagate user credentials thus the error

  • Execute SSIS Package from JOB which contains Execute Process Task calling a .bat file

    Hi All,
    I have a EXCEL Macro needs to be called from SSIS. We could not use Script task because of some internal reason.
    So we have taken an approach to call a .BAT file using Execute Process Task. This .BAT file will call a .VBS file which will execute the EXCEL Macro.
    The SSIS Package is running good if I execute the package from BIDS.
    But the real problem is with the scheduling this SSIS Package using SQL JOB.
    If i execute this SSIS package from SQL Server Job, its executing the whole package successfully except the Execute Process Task.
    So the overall issue is SQL Server Job is not executing properly if I call any .BAT file from the SSIS Package.
    Please give me suggestion to get rid of the issue. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sai.N,
    If you run the SQL Server Agent job manually from SSMS, does the package execute properly? If the package executes properly when you run the job manually, the issue should occur due to permission issue. In this case, I suggest that you create a SQL Server
    Agent proxy based on the current Windows account which you use to log onto the operating system, and run the job under the proxy account.
    If it is not the issue, please enable logging in the package as Visakh mentioned and post the warning/error message for further analysis.

    Hello All,
    I have written one SSIS 2012 package which is fetching records from CSV and put it into staging DB and from staging DB , using SSIS script component task, I am inserting data into Dynamics CRM. So far it is working fine when

    OLE DB Destination failed validation and returned error code 0xC004800B.

    Are you sure that you are running the same package via .NET which works fine from Visual Studio?
    By reading error message, I can say that you have copied OLEDB task from another package OR you have deleted one OLEDB connection manager. Now when package is run this task tries to use the connection manager and not found thus throws error message.
    Open all OLEDB destination tasks and you find connection manager missing. Connection Manager name should be provided there

  • Error executing SSIS packages from Agent

    Hi All,
         I designed SSIS package that loads data from Oracle table to SQl server table along with loading data into Diension and fact tables using SSIS packages only. First I created all SSIS packages that loads data into Staging tables from
    Oracle table in next level loading data into Dimension table and final level is loading data into Fact table. At lasts I created One master package there I'm calling all packages (Execute package task) differently.
    Configuration type: Parent package configuration for All child packages. XML config for parent package.
    When I execute SSIS package from BIDS data is loading up to Fact table. When I execute SSIS packages through Sql server agent ( Using File System Deployment)When I execute SSIS package from Sql server agent it is throwing an error message like

    Hi Praveen,
    The issue may occur if the SQL Server Agent Service Account or Proxy account doesn’t have sufficient permissions. Please create a SQL Server Agent Proxy account that has the permissions to execute the package and perform update operations on the SQL Server

    Hi Nayan,
    According to your description, the SSIS package works fine when you execute it with command line, when you execute it in SSDT, you got the error message: Unable to start program 'DTS'.
    To troubleshoot the problem, I would suggest you to upgrade SSDT to latest patch. Please refer to the following steps:
    Download and install the latest Microsoft SQL Server Service Pack.
    Cumulative Update package SQL Server Service Pack.
    Download and install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Feature Pack 2.
    For more information about Visual Studio 2010 Feature Packs, please refer to the following document:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/ff655021.aspx
    If the problem remain unresolved, i would appreciate it if you could give us detailed information about the error, it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.

  • How to Execute SSIS package through MySQL Procedure

    Hi Everyone,
    How to Execute SSIS package from MySQL Stored Procedure.
    Please share your suggestions on this.
    Regards,
    Vaishu

    I am not sure whether you have SSIS license version installed in the system where MYSQL is there. In order to run SSIS package we need to have DTEXEC executable file and it comes with SSIS license version.
    An SSIS package can be executed from command prompt as,
    C:\>dtexec /f E:\package.dtsx
    I am not expert in MYSQL however in TSQL we can run dos command or scripting language such as vbscript.
    Similarly you need to check in MYSQL. This is MSSQL Server forum.

  • Trying to Execute Catalog SSIS Package using Catalog stored proc by a Master SSIS package inside a Loop

    Hi Guys ,
    To Execute Packages deployed in Catalog , I have created a wrapper SP  which internally calls  catalog SP  ( below is the code )
    ALTER PROCEDURE [Publish].[usp_ExecutePackages]
                  @PackageName NVARCHAR(255)
           ,      @ProjectFolder    NVARCHAR(255)
           ,      @ProjectName NVARCHAR(255)
    AS
    BEGIN
    SET NOCOUNT ON;
    DECLARE @Execution_id BIGINT ;
    EXEC [SSISDB].[catalog].[create_execution] @package_name
    = @PackageName
    ,   @execution_id
    = @Execution_id OUTPUT
    ,   @folder_name
    = @ProjectFolder
    ,   @project_name
    = @ProjectName
    ,   @use32bitruntime=
    True;
    EXEC [SSISDB].[catalog].[set_execution_parameter_value]
    @execution_id,
    @object_type=50,
    @parameter_name=N'SYNCHRONIZED',
    @parameter_value=1
    EXEC [SSISDB].[catalog].[start_execution]            @Execution_id
    Since i have multiple Packages , I am looping through list of PackageName and trying to pass package names to this SP by ExecureSQLTask inside ForLoop Container . But it errors out saying
     "Cannot access the package or the package does not exist. Verify that the package exists and that the user has permissions to it.
    BUt same Execute SQL task , if i keep it outside the ForLoop Container it works perfectly fine .
    I am  clueless , Please Please HELP me ASAP :(
    Question :
    How is that possible to execute same SP with same parameter outside Container , But not in SEQUENCE or FORLOOP or FOREACH Container ?
    Also
    How to make a master package to execute SSIS deployed packages via TSQL using catalog stored proc ?
    Please help me out .
    Thanks
    Prasanna Selvaraju

    Hi ,
    After debugging i am getting parameter values as
    {Extract - ARTL.dtsx\r\n} Unable to evaluate the expression.
    Why do i get  \r\n which i dont want in parameters .
    Actually i pick the values of package name from a custom table . I check it there are no spaces in the cell.
    Any IDEA WHY ? Please help
    Finally it worked to call Wrapper Class for EXEC [SSISDB].[catalog].[create_execution]
    stored procedure .
    Basically , ERROR MESSAGE is culprit
     "Cannot access the package or the package does
    not exist. Verify that the package exists and that the user has permissions to it.
    Above Message : causing us to think
    its an Access issue , But actually when you pass parameter incorrectly even a " " space or "\n" extra to value, you will get that error .
    Nothing related to access problem .
    Actually , In the parameter which i was passing :
    {Extract - ARTL.dtsx\r\n} --> String with Enter / Carriage Return and Break line was there
    I have removed the Enter in that variable value .
    Now its WORKING FINE ! Hurry :D :)

  • Run the SSIS Package using sql server Agent--Memory utilization Problem

    Hi,
    I have Created one SSIS Package it was working fine in BIDS but in SQL Server Agent it takes all the server memory and server gets very slow now.
    in that ssis package i am using merge join,sorting tasks.Can you please suggest me how to handle in the memory usage for this..pls refer the below screen

    Hi aravindhrm,
    You can enable BufferSizeTuning logging event on the Data Flow Task to get how many rows in buffer. Or you can use Performance Counter to obtain more details about the buffers.
    http://microsoft-ssis.blogspot.com/2013/04/performance-best-practice-more-rows-per.html
    http://www.sql-server-performance.com/2009/ssis-an-inside-view-part-3/
    Then, you can tweak the DefaultBufferMaxRows and DefaultBufferMaxSize size settings.
    Besides, you can also go through the blog mentioned by Visakh and try suggestions such as increase OS pagefile size.

  • *Error executing SSIS Package from BPC 5.1*

    All -
    I'm trying to execute a perfectly working SSIS package from BPC 5.1. When I execute the package it instantly completes executing (Failure) with nothin written to the Log file.
    After doing further analysis, we have found the root cause to be "Sequence Containers" in SSIS Packages. We can execute the same package if we remove the sequence container.
    When we try to edit the SSIS package via BPC, containing the Sequence Containers", we receive the following error:
    [QuerytoServer] An error occurred while getting a package information. System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Sequence' to type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.TaskHost' at Osoft.Services.Application.DataMgr.PackageExecute.DTSX.GetPackageInfor()
    When we try to edit SSIS packages via BPC, containing NO Sequence Containers", everything is wonderful.
    Does anyone have any suggestions, besides removing all of the Sequence Containers and moving the tasks to the base SSIS package level?
    I trully appreciate any help you guys can provide.

    Hi Lars,
    Could you be more specific the step you did?
    1. It works fine in Visual Studio,
    2. It is not working with Excel Front-end. Call the package from Excel.
    3. It worked few days ago, ==> Do you mean it was working with #2 step?
    I think this might be caused by authentication,
    1. could you check your athentication you have for #1 and #2?
    2. Did you introduce BPC DM to call the package? BPC DM uses impersonated ID even you use ID which has restrictive to use system resource, there will be no problem for the authentication.
    3. As you see the log, it points FLOW task and OLEDB SOURCE, check your connection string in OLEDB SOURCE also.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    YH Seo

    Do you have any Date conversion functions in your Oracle datetime fields? I did run into a similar issue when we upgraded the oracle client and the provider started to decipher the metadata of the date columns. The SSIS metadata conversion for the date
    columns yielded dates that were not valid. I had to update my queries to use the TO_CHAR conversion to bring it out as a string and then save it to the date field.

    Check you TWS jobmanrc.cmd configuration file.   You may need to add a PATH environment variable in that file that includes your SQL Server file locations.   When TWS jobs are executed, they may not be executing with the same
    PATH variable as when you execute the SSIS outside of TWS.

    I have an SSIS package which generates xml and text files and ftps it to an ftp site. When i run the package from BIDS it works successfully but when i run it from a job it fails. My SSIS package connects to DB server A and though i'm creating a job on DB
    server A but my folder structure and the package resides in server B from where i'm connecting to DB server A through Management Studio. I'm using File system in SQL server Agent Job to call the package. When i execute the job i get following error:
    Executed as user: I\A. ...er Execute Package Utility  Version 9.00.3042.00 for 64-bit  Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1984-2005. All rights reserved.    Started:  5:08:05 PM  Error: 2011-06-21 17:08:05.11

    result of either providing an incorrect file name was specified when calling LoadPackage or the XML file was specified and has .  The step failed.
    Could you please tell me where am i going wrong?
    Thanks,

    Hi Christa Kurschat,
    I'm running the job under proxy account. And that account has sysadmin permissions.
    I used following script to create proxy account and run my package under that account:
    I. Create job executor account
    Highlight Security->New Login, say to make login as devlogin, type your password, default database can be your target database.
    Server roles: check sysadmin
    User mapping: your target database
    Msdb database: you make sure to include
    SQLAgentUserRole, SQLAgentReaderRole,  SQLAgentOperatorRole
    Then click OK
    II. Create SQL proxy account and associate proxy account with job executor account
    Here is the code and run it the query window.
    Use master
    CREATE CREDENTIAL [MyCredential] WITH IDENTITY = 'yourdomain\myWindowAccount', secret = 'WindowLoginPassword'
    Use msdb
    Sp_add_proxy @proxy_name='MyProxy', @credential_name='MyCredential'
    Sp_grant_login_to_proxy @login_name=' devlogin', @proxy_name='MyProxy'
    Sp_grant_proxy_to_subsystem @proxy_name='MyProxy', @subsystem_name='SSIS'
    III. Create SSIS package
    In MS SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio, you use job executor account devlogin to create the SSIS package (DTS) and make sure you can execute this package
    in SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio. Compile/build this package.
    IV. Create the job, schedule the job and run the job
    In SQL Server Management Studio, highlight SQL Server Agent -> Start. Highlight Job ->New Job, name it , myJob.
    Under Steps, New Step, name it, Step1,
    Type: SQL Server Integration Service Package
    Run as: myProxy
    Package source: File System
    Browse to select your package file xxx.dtsx
    Click Ok
    Schedule your job and enable it
    I followed these steps.
    Thanks,
    Deepti
