  • Execution interrupted msg in workflow first step

    Hi all,
Am getting a Message (in the message text tab) in workflow log (detail section). The very first step of workflow is an activity to "instantiate employee" details. Its been used in mostly all workflows. It was working fine in development. But now in quality, everyone workflow is in "ready" state at first step and in the msg tab, am getting a msg stated : "Execution interrupted". Could anyone tell me what could be the reason for the same?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I am slso getting the same error message " Execution Interrupted SWF 611 " while executing standard workflow .
Kindly guide me to resolve this . What type of customizing should be maintained in SWU3 to overcome this error .

  • ECN/ECO workflow(SWF_RUN611 "Execution interrupted")

    Hi gurus,
we are working on ECN/ECO workflow.
Once ECN is created in CC01, our workflow triggers.
we are calling subflow from main WF for enhancing the materials of the Engineering change number(ECN).
Subflow will take the material to different departments for enhancing the views like,
    Purchasing views by purchasing dept,
    quality views by quality dept,
    sales views by sales dept,
    etc.
This whole process is working fine with single line items(materials) & also multiple line items.
But, somehow, today it is not returning back to MAIN WF from Subflow.
    It is displaying message as,
    Message Text:               Execution interrupted.
    Exception:                      0
    Error Type                      0
    Area                               SWF_RUN
    Message                        611
Is there any system issue, or some issue with workflow process.
B'cos, it was working properly till yesterday.
Any help will be of gr8 use.

    Hi,
    Tried out all below options.
    But, still not resolved.
Actually, when i create ECN in CC01 manually & testing, it is working fine & control returning back to MAIN WF.
But, when the data is coming from middleware(Tibco), it is not working.
& strange thing is, it has worked earlier with the same setup/config.
    regards.

  • I recently signed on with iCloud. I find that the prompts interrupt my workflow and the costs of this feature for someone with 200 gigs of data is not competitive. I want to cancel the mail, contacts, email, etc. without Removing data from my Mac. How?

I recently signed on for iCloud service, but find that it interrupts my workflow too often (which I know I can reset), but will soon exceed my free storage space. I have 200 gigs of data on my local drive and frankly the cost and benefit of having ICloud access to all of it is not competitive. This particular iCloud offering is overpriced for me. I want to cancel all iCloud services but can't seem to find an easy way to do it without removing the data on my local drive, which would be disaster. Need the communities help. Thanks to all.

Tried this, but unfortunately there was no way to cancel it even when disconnected from the NET. I'm on WIFI which I turned off.
    I keep getting a pop-up that says:
The same message comes up when you want to cancel or remove any of the other iCloud storage functions including Contacts and Emails. This is obviously a scary thought. Why would APPLE program in this type of message? I'm already at 50% of my FREE storage on iCloud after only 2 weeks. There is no way I'm going to be held hostage by this clearly unacceptable "pay or die" programming lapse when I get to 100%. I know APPLE loves making money. Who doesn't, but this makes no sense to this devoted "Since 1984" Apple fan.

  • Unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the workflow instance

I had a workflow and library working with no issues, but had to move the library and export the workflow to another subsite (though on the same web site/collection).  I followed these how-tos:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj819316%28v=office.15%29.aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee428301%28v=office.15%29.aspx
Anyway, I've stripped all actions from the workflow and only have an Assign Task, but get this below:
An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the workflow instance. Exception details: System.ArgumentException: ContentTypeId at Microsoft.Activities.Hosting.Runtime.Subroutine.SubroutineChild.Execute(CodeActivityContext context) at System.Activities.CodeActivity.InternalExecute(ActivityInstance
instance, ActivityExecutor executor, BookmarkManager bookmarkManager) at System.Activities.Runtime.ActivityExecutor.ExecuteActivityWorkItem.ExecuteBody(ActivityExecutor executor, BookmarkManager bookmarkManager, Location resultLocation)
To troubleshoot, I removed all library columns, removed then re-added the Custom Content type the New Document uses, and still the same error - with the workflow going into Suspended mode.
I also tried the removal of the file from /Relationships%20List/allitems.aspx and de-activating then re-activating the SharePoint Publishing feature, also that didn't work.
I've gone into ULS, but unable to find anything definitive, so not sure what to try next?
    Thank you,
    Chad

    Hi Chad,
Glad to hear the issue is resolved. Content types could be used for multiple lists in SharePoint site at the same time.
However, I'm not quite sure why you said the resolution is for a "bug". I read the article per your link:
    http://www.andrewconnell.com/blog/SP2013-Workflow-Custom-Task-Outcomes
The article is showing how to create custom outcomes buttons in task forms. As I understand, the issue you encountered is that workflow migrated from the other site shows the suspended status.
Please be more specific on the issue if assistance is needed. If this is the second question, I’d recommend you open another thread in the relevant forum and provide specific information about the issue. In order to avoid confusion and keep track of troubleshooting
steps, we usually troubleshoot one issue per thread in order to find a resolution efficiently.
    Thanks for the understanding.

  • Execution of multiple workflow items in inbox

Weu2019d like to have the possibility to approve more than 1 work item at the same time (same task). We can select more than 1 item but when we approve, we still have to approve each one of them. In the personal workflow settings I couldnu2019t find the option "Transfer of Execution to Other Work Items Possible". I also check in customizing u201CChange Presettings for Personal Workflow Settings - Further settingsu201D but I donu2019t find this option.  Do I need to change something else in the customizing (release 6.4 - 6405.5.23.1024)?
    Thanks for your help

    Giulia,
This is not possible via SBWP. However you can always create a custom program. The program will collect and show workitems pending for current user.
You can show the list in a tabular form. User can select more than 1 item.
Once selection is over you can approve the workitem via the program.
However there is some catch - some hardcoding will be needed.
This is because the program should know what options a particular decision task provide. For eg, 1 task could give only approve as option whereas other may give as approve and reject both,
You can also put task specific settings in custom table to secure future workflow additions. Need to put some logic in your program to handle that.
I do not have access to system at present. Try searching for FMs to get workitems in the inbox.
    Hope this helps

  • Use of Execution Type in Workflow process step.

    Hi Kiran,
The Execution Type is relevant for the process step of the workflow.
MDM workflow steps can be assigned either to one or more users or to one or more roles, as follows:
u2022 Users. User-based assignments allow you to explicitly specify which user or users should be responsible for performing the step.
u2022 Roles. Role-based assignments allow you to specify roles rather than users, with the actual users determined by MDM at runtime.
The Execution Type defines the relation between these assigned users/ roles if there are more than one:
    1. All Concurrent- All assignees must perform the step. Each assignee can do so at the same time.
    2. All Sequential Random- All assignees must perform the step. Each assignee can do so one at a time in any order.
    3. All Sequential Ordered-  All assignees must perform the step. Each assignee can do so one at a time in the order listed in the step.
    1. Any Single- Any single assignee can perform the step. The step can be pushed to or pulled by any assignee.
You can also find this documented in the Data Manager Reference Guide under MDM Workflows-> Execution Type (page 292)

  • Execution of automator workflow problem

I'm trying to execute an Automator workflow from an applescript, but the specific command won't work:
    <pre>
    set theScript to "path:to:the:script"
    tell application "Automator"
    activate
    execute theScript
    end tell
    </pre>
For some reason, the command execute theScript just does nothing. I've verified that I've got the path right by substituting open theScript in its place successfully. It seems that the command execute is not working as described in the Automator 2.0 Applescript dictionary.
Am I doing something wrong here? Or is this a bug in the Automator 2.0 Applescript dictionary?

While I haven't answered my original question, I have found a workaround for calling an Automator 2.0 workflow from Applescript. Instead of saving the workflow as a workflow, you save it as an application and then open the application in finder. The code goes like this:
    <pre>
set lf to path to library folder from user domain
tell application "Finder" to open (alias (lf & "Scripts:foo.app:" as text))
    </pre>
    I found this at macosxhints.com; http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20071123181555282
I still haven't found what was wrong with calling the workflow as a workflow using the commands in the Automator Applescript dictionary.

  • How to schedule a workflow for recurring executions: The solution

Scheduling a workflow for recurring execution has been long awaited in WFA, perhaps from 2.0 time. The following document shows how to get it done. I've also explained the logic behind it. It’s very simple to use, meets every requirement which one can have from a scheduler and of course highly flexible. Let's go!! The Real stuff. What is this? Is this actually a scheduler? No. This is actually a command in your workflow, but a special 'magical' command. This 'magical' command logic is built using the answers for the following questions: Can a workflow be scheduled for a delayed execution in a future time? Yes, but only one execution instance. If you want the next execution, execute the workflow again providing the same set of inputs and the execution date/time.During workflow execution, can a command inside a workflow get to know what is the  name of the workflow? YesDuring workflow execution, can the command know what is the job execution id? YesIs there any programmatic interface available to know what are the user input provided or a particular job execution? YesCan a command inside a workflow trigger another workflow? Yes.Can a command inside the same workflow trigger itself? Absolutely yes. I've ticked all boxes needed to build such a solution. The solution is to make the workflow a smart workflow, so smart that it can schedule itself for the next execution. It no longer needs any other task scheduler to tigger it. WFA provides a large set of REST APIs for other 3rd part SW integration. But I  also can make  good use of these APIs to make smart workflows. I have always believed that WFA should not only be seen as a framework for automating Storage boxes or server, but just about any task( inside a computer of course) which is done manually. WFA is an awesome product indeed.  So this is a command called "Workflow Scheduler" which  you can put in your workflow as another command. Prerequisites: You need PowerShell 3.0 on your WFA server. I certainly could have done it for PoSH2.0 as well, but life for web interfaces  using PowerShell is so much easier with Posh3.0. Posh3.0 is a big jump from 2.0. WFA is fully supported to work on Posh3.0. Its available by default in Win2012, Win2008 can be upgraded, Win2003 users can't use it. Add credentials of a WFA Admin/Architect in you WFA itself with Name/IP: localhost Match: ExactType: OtherName/IP: localhostUsername: <WFA Admin/Architect Username>Password: <User Password>   3.  Minimum WFA version 2.2. This is only needed for Importing the dar. I've provided the command code in text too. The command code is the real deal. How to use it? If you have a workflow which you want for recurring executions, just add this command "Workflow Scheduler" in it. The command takes parameters for the workflow execution intervals. For example minsInterval for executing this workflow every x minutes, or daysInterval for executing the workflow etc.Now just like a normal workflow execution execute this workflow deciding what is the trigger time. Example: Suppose you want the execution every day at 10:00 PM.So provide daysInterval = 1 And execute the workflow for a delayed execution at 10:00 PM. You can pick the day to start as you wish. The workflow will execute at 10:00 PM and when this execution reaches our magical command "workflow scheduler", this command will trigger the same workflow  with same set of inputs for the next execution at 10:00 PM tomorrow. And so on an so forth. I’ve attached a very simple example workflow here to help you understand. An Example of a workflow scheduled for recurring execution Daily at 11:30 PM starting 10-March-2015     How to stop/suspend this recurring execution? Easy. You just abort the next scheduled job execution in Execution=> Execution Status. The cycle will stop. How to resume it? Easy again. Just resume the same aborted job. The cycle restarts. Can I change the schedule execution time? Yes. After aborting the current execution, you can resume the same workflow at a new time. Execution interval can't be modified as you can't change the command parameters. But the recurring execution now can occur at a new time. Where or which position to place this “workflow scheduler” command in your workflow? At the beginning ? At the end? Or somewhere in the middle. This completely depends on your choice. See some below cases. You don't want the next job execution scheduling to happen if any of the commands in my current workflow execution fails: Put command “workflow scheduler” in the end. It will trigger the schedule of the next job execution only when all real original commands of your workflow have passed. else not.     You want continuous job executions irrespective of the workflow command failures: Put it in the beginning. It will trigger the schedule for next execution before any of the actual command begin executing.     You want an approval before the next execution job is scheduled: Add an approval point before the comamnd.           So it’s all left to you.      Can an operator decide the execution schedule? Yes, but which workflows will be available to him/her for this recurring execution will have to be decided by the designer. This is a good thing to have as it serves for access control in a way. The Architect/Admin can now restrict which workflow can be put for recurring executions. Operators can’t execute just any workflow available to him for automatic recurring execution. And the workflow designer can also choose which scheduling parameter is to be made a variable for the operator. For example the designer want the operator to schedule a given workflow only for weeks Interval and not months or days i.e. he/she can only chose to schedule for weekly, biweekly etc. executions and  nothing else. For this the designer can define a User-Input variable only for weeksInterval parameter. It’s Done. You want workflow execution to be scheduled either for daily or once in 2 days but not any other. You can restrict this. Or he/she wants to give full freedom to the operator make his/her own decision about scheduling, he defined user-input variable for all scheduling parameters. The workflow designer wants weekly schedule but the day should not be a weekday: You can even do this. Is this flexible enough for my requirements? I’ve attached the very command code. You can modify the command as per your requirements. Suppose you want daily execution of a certain workflow at 10:00 PM but skip a day of execution if the day is a Monday. Modify the code check for the day and add another day if it’s a Monday. Its posh code and highly readable. So you can see how this can be used in a  variety of ways. This is the beauty of a programmatic solution. Its highly flexible, it allows users to design solution based on their requirements. Flexibility is the heart & soul of WFA. Thats why I like it. I have a workflow but I don't want to modify it by adding a new command in it. Can I still use this solution? Yes but with WFA 3.0 on wards. WFA3.0 allows to create modular workflows. Create a parent workflow with you actual workflow as a child workflow in it. Add our “workflow scheduler” command too. So now you don't need to touch your existing workflow. I've attached a workflow example here.   Have fun!! sinhaa

Providing a new version 1.1.0 of the command "WFA Schedular" Changes made: Added conditional String Representation based on the Scheduling parameter provided. Provided check for the right number of parameters passed into the command.Added a new parameter "Expiry Date" to automatically stop the recurring execution upon expiry.Check for Posh3.0 version in code.Have Fun!! sinhaa Below example for:Schedule a workflow for recurring execution every alternate day i.e. once in 2 days at 10:30 PM starting 06-Jul-2015 (Today's date is 02-Jul-2015) . The recurring workflow execution  should expire on 31-Dec-2015 and stop.

  • Interrupt workflow process in process controlled workflow

    Hello experts,
In a custom requirement, we need to interrupt the workflow process.
For example, if we have 4 levels of approval. After the 2nd approver has approved the shopping cart, then the workflow process should be kept on hold. Based on a custom interface result, if the condition from another interface is satisfied, then the shopping cart should appear in 3rd approver's UWL.
I tried with triggering interrupt method of class /SAPSRM/cl_wf_apv_facade in save BADI of shopping cart. But it did not work.
Please let me know how can i interrupt the workflow process till some custom condition is satisfied.
    Regards,
    Yayati Ekbote

Quite often this kind of requirements can be fulfilled by using wait steps in the workflow. One example could be that you put a "wait for event" step in your workflow template. Then you could trigger this event from your interface (or whatever) with function module SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT.
Maybe I should ask that how do you know that the condition has been fulfilled? Is it a field in a certain table, or? If yes, instead of the "wait for event" step, you could also wait that your condition is fulfilled (a field in your table gets value X). Just take a look into the workflow template and its step types. Wait step is the way to go.
Of course it might be possible that in the SRM/shopping cart workflows, there is already something built-in, which can be then utilized by using some of the BADIs, but if you cannot find anything from the documentation, then choose one of the above-mentioned approaches.

  • Getting path of parent folder of a file during a workflow execution

How can I get the parent folder/directory of a file during the execution of a workflow? I cant't find any actions i Automator that will give me this.
I want to make a general applicable automated workflow. The path can not be hardcoded in the workflow as different files and folders will be worked on each time the workflow is run.
The input to the workflow is a file or list of files. I want to be able to retrieve the path of the parent folder of these files at runtime.
Will I have to do this through AppleScript? If so, then how?
(in case you have seen my first post on this; it seems I wasn't specific enough so people didn't understand what I want to do. Therefore this second post. Sorry for the iconvenience)

    Hi anilsen!
If all selected files are within the same folder, it would be like this:
    For example:
    • Get Specified/Selected Finder Objects
    • Run AppleScript
    on run {input, parameters}
    tell application "Finder"
set output to (container of item 1 of input) as alias
    end tell
    return output
    end run

  • Workflow - Block Step - Repeated execution

    Hello
I would like to realize a Workflow for each delivery. In the workflow there should be a dialog step for each position.
I can realize that using the block step type.
What if the delivery is changed and new position are added?
Could I use in some way the same block to add the new positions?
Is there a standard solution foreseen by sap?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
In the workflow log, I am seeing a 'broken block in red color' when one of the approver rejects at a particular level. Workflow is not executing for the rejection path. May I know the reason behind this.  I am more worried about the broken red color block. I am seeing the status as 'Error'.
You can observe the difference of the execution of the workflow from the following . Please help me.
    1.Approved                      2. Rejected

  • Runtime error and mapping execution status

We have set maximum no of error parameter to = 50. When our mapping encounters an exception like Unable to extend space on some table space and at the time of encoutnering this exception no of error count is less than 50 - mapping returns success status. With the result that execution pipe continues with the next mapping. Though we would like to keep error count to 50 or higher value - so as not to interrupt the pipe if there is an insertion or updation failure but we would like the mapping to stop when space error or such an exception comes. Please let us know how can we achieve this.

    Borkur,
I believe that if you look at the execution status in Workflow Monitor, you'll see that Workflow handles and reports status correctly within the top level flow and all subprocesses.
However, OWB Audit information for subflows is NOT registered as expected, the subflows always appear with status successful to me, even when mappings fail. I'm not sure whether it is a bug or that success actually means that the flow has concluded/finished (as opposed to status busy). I've had difficulty with OWB Workflow language before, as eg. the workflow AND operator has nothing to do with execution status logic, only with sequencing (ie. a wait-for-all-before-continuing-operator). The operator name and icon graphics are counter-intuitive to me.

  • Document review in workflow

    Hi folks,
is there a simple way to review the document sent via approval workflow to the user?
In the default approval workflow only the location of the file is provided; since I want to check the document before approval I have to go to this location first and then approve or reject the document.
I saw examples in the BPEL custom workflows, but then I need a licensed BPEL engine etc.
    Thanks,
    Kresimir

    Hi Rick,
Its two different workflow for review and approval. but approval works fine as it creates work item one after other .for expmaple if set 3 approvers then first is generated for 1st user and unless he apporves it then  new work item for other user does not get created.
and for review 4 work items created if i set 4 reviewers at a time.and even in my z table where the apporvers/reviewers are updated once wf gets triggered after saving the documents in RR status.
even i checked log but could not able to find anything wrong in the log, will check once again throughly.intially is says a meesage "Execution interrupted",is is something wrong and the message is SWF_RUN 611.
